Laptop won't power up with AC adapter and won't charge battery

Here is the thing.
1) the laptop doesn't power on without a battery when directly connected to ac adapter.
2) the light which would indicate that the laptop is plugged into the ac adapter is not on when the ac adapter is plugged in.
3) the battery charge light is also not on, which would indicate the battery is being charged.
The battery does not charge... Laptop turns on the battery backup mode, but not on ac adapter connection. I tried connecting the battery to another compatible hp laptop (both my laptop and the other test device support same battery models). It was charging fine on that laptop. And when switched it back into my laptop, laptop was running fine, but it does not charge in my laptop. But ac adapter is fine too. So whats the issue? And what can I do to get it sorted?
My laptop is not on warranty anymore. But i replaced battery 4 months back, so its not a fault with battery or the ac adapter.
The AC adapter is fine, tested with other laptop.
The battery is also new and works fine

I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion g6-2004tx Notebook and issues with the battery not charging. Here is a link to calibrate and test the Battery. Calibration should eliminate this issue. Plug the power adapter directly into a functioning wall outlet. Do not plug it into a power strip, surge protector, or secondary power source as this could cause and issue.HP Battery Check in HP System Diagnostics for Windows 8, would give you details of charging and discharging.Testing and Calibrating the battery using HP System Diagnostics in Windows 8. At the starting of the Notebook, Press F2 to select F2 System Diagnostics. Then choose Component Tests, then battery. If the battery was purchased from HP it could be in warranty. Here is a link to check. If purchased from another source you would have to contact them. Hope this helps. Thanks.

    I lost my original AC adapter, and decided to buy a universal laptop adapter. I got a Rockfish universal adapter. I plugged it in, and my laptop turned on! I assumed that all was well, and I left it to charge the battery. When I came back a few hours later, I unplugged the laptop, and hit the power switch. Nothing. Would not come on. I plugged in the adapter again, and this time nothing happened. I tried taking out the battery, and just using the AC adapter. Nothing. No power. No lights. Nothing.
    Hmmm.. I'm thinking that either this adapter is faulty, or there's something wrong with the battery. So I got another one, the Targus universal adapter, and it didn't work either. I'm wondering if these universal adapters really work with Lenovo's. I've heard that the specs for batteries and adapters are constantly changing every year or so. Has anybody had a similar experience, or have any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Most important thing is OUTPUT (for example my g570 - (20V, 4,5A). Get AC Adapter with output like original.

    Hi my 4540s Won't power up with power button. The power button and the 2 buttons(globe and wifi) on the far right will blink. But wont power up. 
    BUT, if I reseat the memory it will power up. (It's not the memory I've tried all new stick with same results) I've tried the batterty out power button down as well.
    Also, once I do have laptop powered up it runs fine. If I restart laptop by clicking retstart it will retsart no probs. BUT, if I shut down and try turn back on it won't.

    My very first MP3 player won't power up with batteries or AC cord after years of use.
    I take good care of my electronics, so it was a big surprise when I couldn't power it up.
    I've read of other owners of this type of player that there could be moisture built up inside the player, but that couldn't be the case. I keep the player in a cool dry storage place when I don't use it. I use my Zen Micro and Vision a bit more now.
    Since the player has no support or warranty anymore, are there any repair facilities that could diagnose the problem the player is experiencing.
    Does anyone else have the same problem and if so, what could be done to correct it's

    I have swapped the RAM DIMMS around (as previously mentioned), but no amount of swapping changes the pattern of failure. I tried running with 1GB RAM (one pair of sticks) instead ot 2GB, with no change to the pattern of failure.
    I'll probably just connect my drives to our G4, reinstall Tiger on the former G5 startup drive, and keep using what will run on the G4 until it croaks.

    A seperate audio cable isn't required for your MBpro model.  It will send audio over the HDMI cable if you use the proper MiniDisplay port to HDMI adapter that supports audio.

    - Sign out of Game Center and sign back in
    - Restore from backup. See:                                               
    iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

    You really should change both the wireless network name and password to avoid potential conflicts with the old and new settings.
    Suggest you give that a try.

    Are you referencing your Photoshop image files, or Photoshop application files?
    If the latter, cease and desist at once!
    Always install Photoshop from scratch, from the original media: CD/DVD or download.

    Try this:
    How to Perform an Archive and Install
    An Archive and Install will NOT erase your hard drive, but you must have sufficient free space for a second OS X installation which could be from 3-9 GBs depending upon the version of OS X and selected installation options. The free space requirement is over and above normal free space requirements which should be at least 6-10 GBs. Read all the linked references carefully before proceeding.
    1. Be sure to use Disk Utility first to repair the disk before performing the Archive and Install.
    Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
    Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger, Leopard or Snow Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
    If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Do not proceed with an Archive and Install if DU reports errors it cannot fix. In that case use Disk Warrior and/or TechTool Pro to repair the hard drive. If neither can repair the drive, then you will have to erase the drive and reinstall from scratch.
    3. Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When you reach the screen to select a destination drive click once on the destination drive then click on the Option button. Select the Archive and Install option. You have an option to preserve users and network preferences. Only select this option if you are sure you have no corrupted files in your user accounts. Otherwise leave this option unchecked. Click on the OK button and continue with the OS X Installation.
    4. Upon completion of the Archive and Install you will have a Previous System Folder in the root directory. You should retain the PSF until you are sure you do not need to manually transfer any items from the PSF to your newly installed system.
    5. After moving any items you want to keep from the PSF you should delete it. You can back it up if you prefer, but you must delete it from the hard drive.
    6. You can now download a Combo Updater directly from Apple's download site to update your new system to the desired version as well as install any security or other updates. You can also do this using Software Update.

    If you have owned the device, as in purchased from Apple, less than a year then there will be no charge to repair, or most likely, replace the device. If you have had the device more than a year you will be charged an out of warranty cost for replacement ($219 I think) and that is much cheaper than a new device. If you have Applecare+ then you have an additional year of coverage and the replacement will be $49 or $79 depending on when you got the Applecare.
