Laptop wont start after shut down.

Hello, i got problem with HP Pavilion g6.
Yesterday i watched youtube, and laptop was on side, when i got too tired, then i shut down and left it on side for the night. In the morning i got home and thinked that battery is too low to start but when i plugged in power cable then the light even didnt turn on that's next to plug in hole. I have checked my power cable,it works fine but laptop dont do a single thing, even not the single light wont work.
Sorry for bad English, and its hard to write with phone.
Thank you.

Hello Uku,
Welcome back to the HP Forums!
I understand your HP Pavilion G6 notebook does not turn on. If the light around the power connector on the notebook does not light up, either the connector is not functioning or is not getting power from the adapter. If the LED indicator on the adapter is lit, it's a good sign that the adapter is functional, but is not a 100% fool-proof way to determine if it is working.
If possible, try another power adapter. Any adapter that fits will work for testing purposes. Once you have determined if the adapter works or not, discontinue use immediately and replace the original adapter if an alternate adapter works. You can order parts here: HP Part Surfer. You will need the exact model or product number to use this website. For information on finding your product and model numbers click here: How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
You may also want to try reconnecting the power connector inside the notebook. For steps on removing and re-seating the power connector you can check out our Maintenance and Service Guide. The steps you're looking for can be found on page 63. Simply remove and reconnect the power connector and see if that resolves the issue.
If the above suggestions do not resolve the issue, I recommend you contact phone support for available service options. You can contact HP Technical Support at 1-800-474-6836 in North America. For all other regions click here.
Hopefully this helps!

  • Laptop battery drains after shut down

Hi, I have bought hp pavilion 15-no28se  six months back,
Its working good, but one issue is contantly irritating me, it is due to its battery drainage after shut down overnight. It almost drains 8-10 percent withing 12 hours. Whereas, I properly shut down it and caliberated as well, but of no use. Although, battery status is OK, and I think battery is fine becasue once I took out battery from laptop for 24 hours, then inserted again and checked it and not a single percent dropped down.
I am so tense that why it is draining when battery works well and properly shut down? Please guide me on this.I am waiting..

    Hello again rocket_sc,
I hope you had a great weekend!
To test, calibrate, and re-synchronize your battery you will need to first follow the steps in this document on Testing and Calibrating the Battery (Windows 8). Once this is completed, and the battery continues to drain, then you can move to re-install the ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery.
I understand that this process can be a little overwhelming, but not to worry! I would gladly expand on the steps provided above!
To answer your first question: you are not uninstalling the software as you would from Programs and Features (like uninstalling software downloaded from a CD). Instead, you are removing small driver components removable from the Device Manager.
To get the Device Manager, please follow the steps below:
Step 1. Go to Device Manager:
    a. Press the  and type "Device Manager"
    b. Click the Device Manager tab on the top right-hand side.
    c. The Device Manager should be open.
    Step 2. Select Batteries:
    a. Click the right-facing triangle to the left hand side of "batteries"
Step 3. Right click the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" that is listed there
    a. If you see any duplicates of the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery", please select them both.
    Step 4. Click Uninstall
    a. You might also see an option that says "disable." Please disregard this option, and click on Uninstall.
Step 5. At the prompt put a check in the box to remove the current driver
    Step 6. Restart the computer
Step 7: Remove the battery for one minute and then put it back in
When the computer comes back up it should automatically find and install the driver.
Step 8. Go to Device Manager
    a. Press the  and type "Device Manager"
    b. Click the Device Manager tab on the top right-hand side.
    c. The Device Manager should be open.
    Step 9. Select Batteries
    a. Click the right-facing triangle to the left hand side of "batteries"
Step 10. Right click the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" that is listed there (there should only be one).
Step 11. Click "Update Driver Software"
Do the same thing with Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controller.
    a. If you do not see this parcel of software in the Device Manager, please skip this step. If you do, the same steps would include:
    * Right-clicking this device driver in the Device Manager
    * Click on "uninstall"
    * Put a check in the box next to "remove the current driver" and pressing "ok"
    * Restarting the computer
    * Remove the battery for one minute, then re-insert it
    * Return to the Device Manager
    * Right-clicking the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controller
    * Click "update driver software"
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!

  • IBook G4 won't start after shutting down by itself

My iBook shut down on it's own and won't restart. The power cable is blinking amber and green. I tried restarting the PRAM, but that didn't work. It has happened once before, and I think I remember connecting it to the desktop somehow? I couldn't find info on that anywhere though. Any ideas?

    Rayray -
I just had this exact problem with my ibook g4. It just shut off, while plugged in and then wouldn't restart. I finally took the battery out and put it back in and it restarted then. But it doesn't make sense to me why that worked. My battery needs to be replaced (it doesn't hold a charge well now at all), but it doesn't make sense why it would shut off while plugged in...
    Hope this helps your problem...

  • HELP!!! my laptop wont start after water went inside the key board

accidental spillage of water on the keyboard and my laptop is dead. i have been to authorised service center but every one is saying the warranty is void if there is any physical damage. can any one let me know what should i dooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, the warranty is voided by the water damage. You have probably done a number on the motherboard, which will need diagnosis and repair.
You should be either 1) thankful that you have recent backup or 2) hopeful that your hard drive itself was not damaged and the data is recoverable.

  • Satellite E45t won't start for few hours after shut down

I have a brand new Satellite E45t-4100. After shutting down, I am not able to start the laptop for few hours. Upon pressing the power button, say after 15 minutes, power button LED lights up but nothing is displayed on the screen. I have disabled the sleep mode from power settings as I was facing the similar situation when trying to wake up the laptop from sleep. Although, when restart is chosen, laptop restarts without any trouble.
    Please help.

    Hello,
I have the exact same problem as the OP with an E45t-a4300. Purchased almost a year ago (Oct 30, 2013) from Best Buy. Worked perfectly for about 2 months after purchase and then this problem arose. Started when I'd put the computer to sleep, it wouldn't wake up. The computer would just shut off when I'd go to wake it up. When I'd hit the power button to restart, the fan would briefly spin, power indicator/wifi light turns on, then it shuts down again. I would repeat this cycle- sometimes only a few times, sometimes for almost an hour- before the Toshiba splash screen appeared with the "computer wasn't shut down properly"  and the computer would restart and run the standard diagonostics. However, at first on a cold start or start from hibernation it would start fine but after awhile that stopped, too, and any starting attempt was met by the same non-start/shut down cycle.
This went on for about 3 months with me basically rarely shutting down the machine. I searched forums at the time and found nothing regarding this problem. Then one day in mid-March, the start-up problem miraculously disappeard- it fired right up. It started perfectly fine and worked with no problems whatsoever for 6 months, including waking from sleep and hibernation, until about 2 weeks ago. Now the same problem is back- it won't turn on with multiple start attempts and shuts down when you try to wake from sleep or hibernation- showing the "computer wasn't shut down properly" on the splash screen and going through the test process when if finally does start. Also, I'm now unable to enter the BIOS page on start up when pressing F2.  I also have disabled rapid start, etc after the problem began.
I've owned quite a few laptops over the years (including Toshiba) and work with computer based systems for a living. I REALLY love this laptop a lot (yes, even with 8.1) but this problem is just disheartening. I truly appreciate any help.
    Thanks!!

  • EXTERNAL HD WONT SHUT DOWN AFTER SHUTTING DOWN LOGIC ,HELP

When Im done recording in logic and after I close down the session and shut logic down. I then try to shut down my external HD and I get a message saying " LOGIC IS STILL IN USE AND EXTERNAL HD CAN NOT BE SHUT DOWN, TRY QUITTING APPLICATIONS AND THEN SHUT DOWN" Logic is already shut down and there are no other applications running and it wont let me shut down my external HD. I tried to switch HD's and it still wont shut down after I close all applications. PLEASE HELP....
Message was edited by: philip j

When you say shut down, you mean "eject" right?
Will it, incidently, eject during a session when you haven't used Logic at all?
One thing you should make sure of with your external HD is that it is formatted correctly - it needs to "un" journalled... may not be the problem, but worth checking.
What kind of external HD is it?

    Hi @devitojj
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I would like to take a moment and thank you for using the forum, it is a great place to find answers. For you to have the best experience in the HP forum, I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I understand that when you power off your notebook it automatically restarts in 4 seconds.
You have tried several steps to try and resolve this but there is no change.
As it repeated the behavior with the hard drive removed, you know it is not an issue with Windows.
You have tried updating the bios and returning it to bios defaults but no change.
Here is a link from answers.microsoft.com that helped other people with this issue.
Windows 7 computer restarts automatically after shutdown
This does suggest you edit your registry which does have the potential to cause issues, so be very careful.  I would also suggest backing up your registry before you attempt it, just in case.
Back up the registry  from Windows.microsoft.com
If that has not helped, I would try removing the Cmos or RTC battery for 30 seconds and then replacing it.
Please let me know if this helped.

  • MacBook is starting to shut down after 5 minutes.

My MacBook has just started to shut down after 5-10 minutes. The computer still holds a charge, and the battery Percentage says that it's full, so I dont know what's going on.

If it's under AppleCare take it in immediately.
It is possible that a fan might not be working, and causing it to overheat & shutdown as a safety measure.
The other reason could be RAM.
    But that's just my guess.

  • Auto Start up after Shutting down

I'm new to the Mac and am not sure of this is a normal issue or if there's a setting that I accidentally triggered. On my MacBook Pro when I shut down, it starts up again after shutting down. I'm not selecting restart and am not sure if I updated software and held off on shutting down so I don't know if its that. Is there a setting I have to adjust or is there some issue I have?   Feedback is greatly appreciated.

    HL
Try resetting the PRAM. Force the machine to shutdown if it won't shutdown. While the machine is turned off with your leftt hand hold down the option+commands keys. Then turn the machine on and immediately with your right hand hold the P key with your little finger and the R key with your index finger. Wait until you hear the Apple chime twice, release all key and let the machine boot up. Also try starting in the safe mode. Make sure the machine is shutdown then power it on and hold down the shift key until you see the gray Apple screen then release the shift key. let it strat up in safe mode. Then login to your user account and try to shutdown the machine again. See if this helps.

  • HT4356 After shutting down my router and PC,  I can get my iPad to wirelessly connect to my HP 3050A printer.  After a period of time the connection is lost and I have to start all over shutting things down.  The PCM never looses connection with the print

After shutting down the router and connected PC, I can get my iPad to connect to air print to my HP 3050A printer.  Connection is lost after time and I have to start the whole process over again.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Thanks for the response Grant.  I had both set to "never" and the power connected.  I did however find while searching the forum page, an answer already given to another enquiry.  The security/general tab.  I had it checked, now unchecked am hoping it will solve my problem.  Thanks again, Cebustu.

  • Start up time (after shut down) on os x yosemite is too long.

it takes too long to boot up after shut down on os x yosemite.
It nearly takes up a minute.
On OS X Mavericks it took just 12 seconds!
    how do i fix this?

If you have a Recovery HD partition you can try booting it:
    Boot Using OPTION key:
    Restart the computer.
Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "OPTION" key.
Release the key when the boot manager appears.
Select the desired disk icon from which you want to boot.
Click on the arrow button below the icon.
If this is not an available option, then download Carbon Copy Cloner 3.5.1 which will clone the disk even though it's the startup volume.

  • Simple floating clock does not appear after shut down

    Hi,
On my iMac oxs 10.9.4. my simple floating clock does not appear after shut down.
Can anybody tell me how to overcome this?
    Cheers

And now I am at the stage it wont automatically start despite it being ticked in the Log In Items.
As Imp68 has asked, do you mean the "Hide" Checkbox is selected?
If you have checked the box, that says, to start the application, however, hide it so it is not visible when you start.
If you run Applications -> Utilities -> Activity Monitor, can you find Simple Floating Clock as a running app? (Activity Monitor has a Search box to make this easier).
Is Simple Floating Clock on your Menu bar?
Is Simple Floating Clock set to float?

  • Solved Vista Home Premium Start up / shut down loop

Ta Da    The  C:\windows\winsxs      ETC.       that was my solution  found it on this site and other sites and decided to try it:
It was actually the 3rd choice of solutions on that particular page  and  I could not complete the solution as directed because the files I was supposed to delete were not there, funnily enough that is why I chose that solution as I really did not believe it was an update error but may provide me with a    "Look Inside" .  So I followed along and it would not let me delete the file as instructed but it let me rename it   I did rename 1 file and rebooted. Everything proceeded as normal but it actually finished loading the NVidia driver for onboard graphics  ( which was where it was crashing ) and that was it.
I still dont know for sure why it would not load the driver and  I never did get any blue screens or failed update messages or error codes. On the upside I now have a working repair disk that I didnt have before, and created a backup that I didnt do before
I have an HP Pavilion  m 7580n   ( Media Center) that is locked in a start up shut down loop.
It starts normally and runs up normally until the desktop flashes on the screen for about 3 seconds. At this point It is still loading things like the Internet connection , Icon indicates connected, nvidia control panel icon. It never gets any further than that.....?
if I am  fast enough to dbl click an icon it will load whatever the icon represents but will immediately flash to the "Shutting down" screen. It then shuts down and auto starts the loop again.
I have  also tried   ctrl / alt / del   and I get there but it crashes instantly.
The machine is now running   Vista Home Premium.  Upgraded from XP by an online download so I have no OEM disk.
I dont know if it is 32 or 64 bit I would guess 32 as it was an XP upgrade
What I have tried so far
I have ruled out ANY Hardware problems by swapping hard drives and loading a different OS.   Win 7 on it and everything works fine for hours.  Benchmarks, stress tests, temp tests, games, mem tests
I have made a vista repair disk and tried all of the "Non Destructive" options  available.
I have tried every safe mode option.
I have hooked the problem hard drive to another computer and accessed it that way, and ran virus scanners
and clean and repair programs. No Bad sectors, clusters, nothing bad
I have removed all "Junk" and files I can replace
I have striped all unnecessary hardware. swapped RAM, Vid Cards  ETC.
I have tried all of the above both connected and not connected to the Internet and everything many times and many differant combinations.
Nothing has made any difference at all
A little history of the machine.
It was bought second hand with the Vista Installed and came with a paper  sticker with a hologram
and a Key That was apparently mailed after the online update ?
It was activated and displayed windows genuine logo in System Folder
It received updates automatically and by request no problems.
I mention this only because I cannot be absolute certain it is a legal copy and was wondering if this is some sort of disabling of pirated software or an expired demo?
It was used in a cottage  where it could possibly of had a power failure during an auto update. I mention this as some update problems resemble my problem. I have shied away from trying those fixes as they involve elevated commands and such and my knowledge in that area is very limited. and I dont have any of the stages loading screens
It would be easy for me to format and reload an OS But the files I want are protected and I cant access them from another computer.
I havent Listed any Hardware as I am satisfied it is not a hardware issue  However it is the  AMD X 2 64 version
Any Non hardware related suggestions would be appreciated as I am certain this hardware all works
I get no BSOD's no errors.
     Thanks for reading my lament

Do this, and while it is in the open re-examine your cpu pins w/ a bight light and hd zoom or a magnifying glass.
Thanks, xmad, I'll look at th CPU again tomorrow/next day under the glass when I take the board out.  I already checked them under magnification and was leaning toward a funky board, but it never hurts to re-check.  Eyesight is not what it used to be, for sure (I miss DOS, if that's a clue...).  Don't want to flash the BIOS if not necessary, since it runs Windows fine and everything works except that RAM.
Bernhard, I don't have CPU-Z installed on that machine and don't want to install anything else until it's working normally.  I'd never seen Click-Bios before and just need to get over my initial suspicion of something new!  Also learn my way around it before I change anything.  I'd never encountered a board reporting a bios different than printed on it.  I've never messed with manual memory settings or done more overclocking than just a little exploratory and suprisingly successful nudge - if you could point me toward a  good basic explaination of all those settings, I could learn from there.
    Appreciate your input very much.
Have learned a lot just reading the threads here for the last few days.  This is the best forum I've ever encountered.  I'll report back - some suggestions in other posts resembling my problem ended with no resolution, and that's a shame because one doesn't know if it worked or not.

  • Mac mini restarts on its own after shut-down.

The Mac mini will restart by itself about 10 minutes after shut down. I turned off all the restart options in energy saver. Funning 10.4.8 with the latest firmware instalation.
Any suggestions how to stop this?

I have had this problem for a looooong time and I think I finally resolved it. Last weekend I was trying a demo of MacPilot 3 and found Elgato's EyeTV had two items in the Power > Events list. Apparently when you set EyeTV to start up the computer for it's schedule it restarts the computer randomly rather in a reasonable amount of time before the recording begins. Since there were two files, I think 1 was left over from previous EyeTV version and was starting up the computer even though I told EyeTV not to start the computer at a later date. Deleting both files seems to be the solution.
