Large back up after the restore

I restored a new HD with Time Capsule and Time Machine. I needed to repair permissions in order to launch application without them crashing. It is working now but the first backup it did after the restore was 137 gb! Why? I restored from the absolute latest backup and so nothing really has changed. Why does it need to waste time and disk space backing up the entire disk again on a MBP?

Thank you for your repolies. The problem was solve by updating the PCSuite to the latest version.

    I got like the same problem, last days I get message to restore my iPhone, so I did it yesterday and it work very well. In the afternoon I saw that at top in the left corner show invaild sim card or so (only knew the german version). so I restore it again but now it won`t activate after I enter SIM-PIN and it accept it, it shows "No Service".
    Anybody can help? My Carrier is o2 Germany.

    I don't know if I'm on the same page as you.
    But if you backed up the phone with those contacts pictures notes etc, you should get them back.
    After restoring your phone, use the back up that done when you had those contacts messages etc??

  • Time Machine not backing up after full restore from back up.

    Problems started after I restored my Mac Pro from a TM back up.
    Mac Pro has 1TB of storage and used less 500 GB (414.1 GB), so
    I used a partitioned 1TB ext HD 500/500, and used one partition for
    the Mac Pro and backed up properly before the full restore, since I used
    less than 500 of the 1TB.
    After the restore my TM failed to back up because it required approx 800 GB.
    So I thought my old OS must still be on the internal or some type of duplicate
    so I erased the free space at the most slowest speed, 10 hrs later sure enough
    I reduced everything to 414.1 GB.
    So I attempted to back up to my 500 GB TM with no success, says I still need
    1.75 TB.
    I Tried reformatting and renaming my ext TM back up HD with the same partition
    set up. I even update my OS to mavericks.
    Any new ideas out there?

    I dont remember if I hit inherit.
    TM started working after I reformatted it, but stopped backing up.
    I have 500 GB drive i'm using so its more than enough space.
    Since my 1 TB internal HD is only using 389 GB.
    The back up that I have now is from this 1 TB HD.

    Hi, I'm having problems with my iPod Touch. My iPod went off because the battery was empty. And when I tried connecting it to my laptop to recharge, the "connect to iTunes" screen suddenly appeared. According to iTunes I need to RESTORE it for it to work. And that's exactly what I did.     I really don't know what happened but my iPod Touch is working now!!! Thank you so much! I restarted the computer and tried again to run Photoshop and the same error message appeared. The message was followed by a message that stated that I needed to contact Adobe technical support and mention Error: 150.30. I need Adobe technical support to provide me a solution for my problem so I can continue using my Adobe products installed on my computer.

    Unfortunately when Adobe products are restored from backup, especial CS4 and especially Mac, it breaks licensing.
    There is a python script included in the license recovery kit that should work if you are familiar with Terminal.
    If not, you must reinstall your CS4 suite.  You don't need to delete your preferences, so it should be the same as before.

    The phone is telling you to plug in your phone to your computer. Do that then let it sit for a few minutes and then try it again and make sure itunes is open when you do

  • Transport Directory and queue are out of sync after the restore

    Hi all
    I got a DEV server. Running ECC6 on MAXDB over linux. One user deleted some tables and we restored the database. No file system is restored.
    Now we are having issues with the transports as the tranport directory is the latest and database is having old data about 3 days old data.
    I am not able to see the same objects that we released in the old transports before the restore neither I am able to re-import the transport.
    Please let me know the best way to make this in sync with the file system transports available.

    Thanks for the response. I think I am not clear in my problem statement.
    We restored the whole database. Nothing at the fie system level is restored. So Trans directory is having up to date work done (Released transports etc) but after the restore the information coming through the database is the old information. Like in SE10 the transport that was released earlier still showing released but showing less number of objects than the one we actually released before the restore. Even if we try to re-import the same transport it ends up in the error.
    Please let me know how we can make file system and database in sync.

    Is apple going to do anything about the length of time it takes for the phone to turn back on after the battery drains?

    Just a thought, but if the battery is not allowed to completely die then the amount of time it takes for the device to power back up is irrelevant.
    Charge the device regularly and often.  One of the worst things for a Lithium Ion battery like that in an iPhone is completely discharging it.

    I have just received a new iPhone 4s and have restored it from the last back up I did before I got the new phone, however, after I do the restore the only option I get is to click on "Done" at the top of the page but then no data or information from my phone shows up and when I click on the "iPhone" button on the top right hand side of the page it takes me back to the previous page and gives me the option to set up a new phone or restore again.  I have just restored my husbands iPhone 5 and had no issues at all.  They were both backed up on the same day last week.

    That does happen.  It depends on how hard the server is being hit, as well as the connection speed of your system.  If you are on a windows system, you will want to disable any antivirus or firewall software during the download.
