Large bullets

Hi,
I am using RH 7.0. My bullet styles use the default discs and squares. In the WYSIWYG editor, the bullets are small and "elegant". However in the preview and in the actual CHM file they are very big, the size of the text, and really very ugly.
Is this correct? If not, how do I make them smaller?
Thanks,
Jackie

Hi,
The best way to get this done, is to use CSS. Open your CSS in an external editor (such as notepad).
Add: UL {font-size: 10pt;}. Change the value until you’re comfortable with it.
This setting won’t affect the text size, as long as you apply a paragraph to the text. The font size of the paragraph overwrites the font size of the list.
Greet,
Willam

  • Tungsten E2 graffiti pad won't work

    Hi, all. Hoping someone can help. I have a Tungsten E2 that, as of yesterday, doesn't let me use the graffiti pad to input any data. I literally can't write anything--one minute it worked, the next minute it didn't. The only other change I noticed was that a large bullet appeared to the right of the "go to" box on the bottom of the calendar pages, but that disappeared today. Nothing else has changed, though--I still can't input any data.
    Any advice would be greatly appreciated. This is not a new device--I've had it for 2-3 years. Thanks very much!

    Hi, and welcome to the Palm Community Forums.
    Don't know about the "large bullet", but the first thing to do is to try a series of progressively severe Resets to see whether the issue is software or hardware related.  This article discusses the various types of Reset for different Palm devices.  First try a Soft...then a Warm...then a Hard reset.  After each one, see if there is any improvement, and let us know.
    Be aware, the Hard Reset will wipe the E2 clean of everything, so be sure you have a current Backup of everything before you do it.

  • Drop-down Text - Bullet Format

    Can bullets in a drop-down text box be different than the bullet of the item it is describing. In RoboHelp 9, the bullets take on the formatting of the original item even though I have them formatted differently.
    Here is an example of what I'm trying to do.
    I start with this list:
    When I create the drop-down text and format the bullets within this text for item "Line 1", they look like this.
    When I view the selected item and/or when I generate and view it, I get the following result.
    Obviously I didn't create the drop-down text with the large square bullet, but it appears to pick up the bullet from the main listing.
    How can I get separate formatting for the drop-down text?  Is there something wrong with the formatting of my drop-down text box?
    I do have drop-down text boxes in RoboHelp 7 that have different bullet formatting, but the only way this could be achieved is by leaving the formatting of the original list as Normal and inserting the bullet as an image.
    This shows the list item with an inserted image as the bullet and in Normal format.
    This shows the formatting that I would like to see.
    This shows that the formatting is ok in the drop-down, but only if I don't use bullets on the original list.
    Thank you!

    Did anyone ever figure this out? I am having the same problem, but in addition to bullet and numbering styles, the dropdown text is inheriting other qualities from the Hotspot format, including font color.
    What can I do to maintain the formatting in the drop down text independently from the text formatting of the hotspot?
    Thanks!

  • I am having problem when I am installing magic bullet look 1.4 please help

    Hi, I am having an issue with my Red giant magic bullet look 1.4
    When I am installing this plug ins I receive a message saying: your graphic card did not meet the minimum requirement but actually my graphic card did meet the requirement and I was looking at the requirement for this in website and my Gcard met the requirement.  Why is it not installing?
    please help me
    I use premiere pro CS3
    Win 7 OS 64bit
    My graphic card is: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT (Microsoft corporation-WDDM v1.1)
    The minimum requirements for the plug ins are: Magic Bullet Looks supports a wide range of cards from both ATI or NVIDIA. For ATI cards, we require a 9600 XT or greater, or an X series card starting with the X700 series. Cards with greater model numbers and at least 128 MB of RAM can run the Looks engine.
    For NVIDIA cards, we support the 6600 model and higher or QuadroFX 1300 and up. Cards with higher model numbers and a minimum of 128 MB of RAM can run Looks. For users working with HD images, we require that the video card have at least 256 MB of RAM. In all cases, we suggest using the latest video drivers for your graphics card.
    Please Note Since all media is processed at 32 bit, you will absolutely need a 256 MB graphics card or larger. For newer cards from ATI and NVIDIA, we recommend a minimum of 320 MB of RAM. For 2K projects, we recommend 512 MB or a larger amount of RAM on the graphics card.

    Run this.

  • Dealing with large volumes of data

    Background:
    I recently "inherited" support for our company's "data mining" group, which amounts to a number of semi-technical people who have received introductory level training in writing SQL queries and been turned loose with SQL Server Management
    Studio to develop and run queries to "mine" several databases that have been created for their use.  The database design (if you can call it that) is absolutely horrible.  All of the data, which we receive at defined intervals from our
    clients, is typically dumped into a single table consisting of 200+ varchar(x) fields.  There are no indexes or primary keys on the tables in these databases, and the tables in each database contain several hundred million rows (for example one table
    contains 650 million rows of data and takes up a little over 1 TB of disk space, and we receive weekly feeds from our client which adds another 300,000 rows of data).
    Needless to say, query performance is terrible, since every query ends up being a table scan of 650 million rows of data.  I have been asked to "fix" the problems.
    My experience is primarily in applications development.  I know enough about SQL Server to perform some basic performance tuning and write reasonably efficient queries; however, I'm not accustomed to having to completely overhaul such a poor design
    with such a large volume of data.  We have already tried to add an identity column and set it up as a primary key, but the server ran out of disk space while trying to implement the change.
    I'm looking for any recommendations on how best to implement changes to the table(s) housing such a large volume of data.  In the short term, I'm going to need to be able to perform a certain amount of data analysis so I can determine the proper data
    types for fields (and whether any existing data would cause a problem when trying to convert the data to the new data type), so I'll need to know what can be done to make it possible to perform such analysis without the process consuming entire days to analyze
    the data in one or two fields.
    I'm looking for reference materials / information on how to deal with the issues, particularly when a large volumn of data is involved.  I'm also looking for information on how to load large volumes of data to the database (current processing of a typical
    data file takes 10-12 hours to load 300,000 records).  Any guidance that can be provided is appreciated.  If more specific information is needed, I'll be happy to try to answer any questions you might have about my situation.

    I don't think you will find a single magic bullet to solve all the issues.  The main point is that there will be no shortcut for major schema and index changes.  You will need at least 120% free space to create a clustered index and facilitate
    major schema changes.
    I suggest an incremental approach to address you biggest pain points.  You mention it takes 10-12 hours to load 300,000 rows, which suggests there may be queries involved in the process which require full scans of the 650 million row table.  Perhaps
    some indexes targeted at improving that process is a good first step.
    What SQL Server version and edition are you using?  You'll have more options with Enterprise (partitioning, row/page compression).
    Regarding the data types, I would take a best guess at the proper types and run a query with TRY_CONVERT (assuming SQL 2012) to determine counts of rows that conform or not for each column.  Then create a new table (using SELECT INTO) that has strongly
    typed columns for those columns that are not problematic, plus the others that cannot easily be converted, and then drop the old table and rename the new one.  You can follow up later to address columns data corrections and/or transformations.

  • In Acrobat Professional 8, what is the best way to insert/combine multiple pdf's together in a large

    In Acrobat Professional 8, what is the best way to insert/combine multiple pdf's together in a large volume?
    We have 300 pdf reports and need to insert a 2 page cover page infront of each report. Not sure if Batch processing is best???
    Thanks for any tips.

    Probably each cover page is different too. I would probably just bite the bullet and do each individually. I would create the 2 cover pages in WORD or other word processor and print to cover.pdf. Then open a PDF and Pages>Insert Pages or the cover.pdf to the front of the open PDF and save as to the current PDF. Then repeat 299 times. Each time you would make the appropriate change to the DOC file and print a new cover.pdf file (you might want to turn off open in Acrobat for this processing in the printer properties to save time). Probably a good idea to keep a list of the files to check off what has been done (you can generate a list in DOS by Start>cmd, change the directory to your location [cd path], and do "dir >>list.txt". That will give you a list to use.). There may be an easier way, but by the time you get it figured out you might be done this way.

  • BUG: Large floating point numbers convert to the wrong integer

    Hi,
    When using the conversion "bullets" to convert SGL, DBL and EXT to integers there are some values which convert wrong. One example is the integer 9223370937343148030, which can be represented exactly as a SGL (and thus exactly as DBL and EXT as well). If you convert this to I64 you get 9223370937343148032 instead, even though the correct integer is within the range of an I64. There are many similar cases, all (I've noticed) within the large end of the ranges.
    This has nothing to do with which integers can be represented exactly as a floating point value or not. This is a genuine conversion bug mind you.
    Cheers,

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Yes, I understand the implications involved, and there definetely is a limit to how many significant digits that can be displayed in the numeric controls and constants today. I think that either this limit should be lifted or a cap should be put onto the configuration page when setting the display format.
    I ran into this problem as I'm developing a new toolset that lets you convert all the numeric formats into any other numeric format, just like the current "conversion bullets". My conversion bullets have outputs for overflow and exact conversion as well, since I need that functionality myself for a Math toolset (GPMath) I'm also developing. Eventually I'll maybe include underflow as well, but for now just those two outputs are available. Example:
    I do of course pay close attention to the binary representation of the numbers to calculate the Exact conversion? output correctly for each conversion variation (there are hundreds of VIs in polymorphic wrappers), but I relied in some cases on the ability of the numeric indicator to show a true number when configured appropriately - that was when I discovered this bug, which I at first mistook for a conversion error in LabVIEW.
    Is there a compliancy issue with EXT?
    While doing this work I've discovered that the EXT format is somewhat misleadingly labelled as "80-bit IEEE compliant" (it says so here), but that statement should be read with some suspicion IMO. The LabVIEW EXT is not simply IEEE 754-1985 compliant anyways, as that format would imply the x87 80-bit extended format. An x87 IEEE 754 extended precision float only has 63-bit fraction and a 1-bit integer part. That 1-bit integer part is implicit in single and double precision IEEE 754 numbers, but it is explicit in x87 extended precision numbers. LabVIEW EXT seems to have an implicit integer part and 64-bit fraction, thus not straight IEEE 754 compliant. Instead I'd say that the LabVIEW EXT is an IEEE 754r extended format, but still a proprietary one that should deserve a bit more detail in the available documentation. Since it's mentioned several places in the LabVIEW documentation that the EXT is platform independent, your suspicion should already be high though. It didn't take me many minutes to verify the apparent format of the EXT in any case, so no real problem here.
    Is there a genuine conversion error from EXT to U64?
    The integer 18446744073709549568 can be represented exactly as EXT using this binary representation (mind you that the numeric indicators won't display the value correctly, but instead show 18446744073709549600):
    EXT-exponent: 0x100000000111110b
    EXT-fraction: 0x1111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111000000000000b
    --> Decimal: 18446744073709549568
    The above EXT value converts exactly to U64 using the To Unsigned Quad Integer "bullet". But then let's try to flip the blue bit from 0 to 1 in the fraction part of the EXT, making this value:
    EXT-exponent: 0x100000000111110b
    EXT-fraction: 0x1111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111100000000000b
    --> Decimal: 18446744073709550592
    The above EXT value is still within U64 range, but the To Unsigned Quad Integer "bullet" converts it to U64_max which is 18446744073709551615. Unless I've missed something this must be a genuine conversion error from EXT to U64?

  • Numbered List and Bulleted List w/ Custom Style Sheet

    Hi,
    I am a new user to RoboHelp 7, and must say I find it useful
    but also painful to use. Currently I’m trying to solve
    something that feels like a bug in RoboHelp 7, but before I give in
    and accept defeat I wanted to check with the forum.
    I have FrameMaker 8, and import the files to RH where I use
    them to create WebHelp projects.
    Here’s a short procedure:
    1. I Import my files with a predefined style sheet matching
    the FM styles.
    2. I also check the Convert to HTML list option and set all
    numbering and bullet styles to User defined.
    - After import RH does the usual thing and creates a bunch
    of style sheets on its own
    3. I select all the files from the Topic List pod and apply a
    new custom style sheet. This enables me to have one style sheet for
    all the HTML files with the right layout and formatting
    4. I generate the output, and RH uses the new style sheet
    reference
    The resulting HTML files shows that the output is not the
    same as the generated HTML shown in RH’s HTML editor view
    - Editor view: <li class=”style”>
    - Browser view: <li>
    6. If I make a change (e.g. add a space) and save the HTML
    file, and generate the project again the HTML is correct in the
    browser
    One could argue that it’s not a big problem; however,
    with a large project this is starting to look more like a nightmare
    Does anyone know of this problem, and if so can it be fixed?
    Kind regards,
    Jon

    Is this the time when I get really angry at Adobe for creating the worst FrameMaker/RoboHelp integration ever? No! However, I must admit that I'm amazed that they are unable to solve an important feature as conversion of lists from a FrameMaker document to a RoboHelp WebHelp project. When I say conversion I mean a clean conversion with minimal interference from RoboHelp that allows me to use CSS to its full extent.
    Here's the problem, and this was also the problem with RoboHelp 7 and FrameMaker 8. BTW, I use standalone versions (not TCS 1 or 2).
    Figures: First image depicts FrameMaker 9's Paragraph Designer and the Autonumber format for a paragraph named VizNumbered. Second image depicts the RoboHelp 8's conversion setting.
    FrameMaker uses Autonumbering in front of paragraphs to create lists. This means that you in RoboHelp need to manage two formats, the autonumber and the paragraph style.
    RoboHelp does of course not (by default) use Autonumbering in front of paragraphs because a RoboHelp WebHelp project is HTML based, and list tags in HTML can perfectly handle any formatting of text etc.
    RoboHelp will convert, when "Convert Autonumber to HTML List" is selected, the Autonumber in FrameMaker to a list tag (LI). By default this will generate a list with a lot of margin, font and other CSS properties that tries to simulate the way the list is laid out in the FrameMaker document. In addition to the list tags it will convert the FrameMaker paragraph to a P tag which it inserts within a list tag. The issue you will experience with this is that indentations with the paragraph tag does not align properly between line 1 and 2. At the same time the WebHelp project will not look the same in IE, Firefox or Chrome. That is, Chrome and Firefox will look the same, and IE different. IE has the WYSIWYG feel, but it does not comply well with W3C standards (i.e. using P tags enclosed by LI tags is not a good idea ...).
    Selecting "Convert Autonumber to RoboHelp List" does something similar, but is not recommended at all!
    So, here's the big question. How can I make sure RoboHelp understands that I ONLY need to define a list tag with a CSS class attribute attached to it?
    Today I basically only get the following:
    <li><p class=""></p></li> or,
    <p class=""></p>
    What I want is the following:
    <li class=""></li>
    Can this be solved with today's versions, can anyone help me, or do I have to wait for the Adobe development team to realize this and to fix it?

  • New AIR game - Saturate: A bullet-storm survival shooter

    Hi all,
    I've been working for over a year on game with a publisher (not this game!), and it is still many months away from release.  In the meantime I was anxious to get something released to the public in the short term, so two weeks ago I started Saturate: A bullet-storm survival shooter as a tribute game to one of my fav PC games, Mono by Binary Zoo.  Written in AIR 13 for iOS, Android and Facebook (iOS under review, and FB coming in a few days), with IAP for those who don't want to earn credits the hard way . I'll update the links as the other platform versions become available:
    Available for Android right now!
    Pixelthis website
    Pixelthis Facebook page
    Saturate is a Geometry Wars style two-stick single-screen bullet-storm survival shooter.  There are lots of control schemes to try (and more coming).  Keep in mind that this was a 2-week 'get it out there' marathon, so there are still plenty of features in the pipes (like highscore tables, sharing screenshots to FB and setting them as your wallpaper/bg, different game modes).
    The aim of the game is to saturate the screen with color.  Your score is the % of the screen that you fill when you die (and you will die).  The enemies are R, G and B, and they splat the screen with color when they explode.  There are some cool power-ups, and tons of weapons to collect. The sound track is pretty awesome too.
    Some background: Pixelthis just turned 10 years old a few days ago, so we've been around the block!  We started with Flash 4 and then Flash Lite 1.1 (way back when) on Nokia and Sony-Ericsson phones.  Saturate is developed using AIR, using our proprietary games platform.  The core of the system is a rasteriser that turns vector graphics to bitmap at runtime (including filters) so that we can run in GPU mode with very good performance, and a callback-based event and tweening system for very fast game loop, animations and messaging.  Saturate uses Milkmangames ANEs for StoreKit and Android IAB, and GoViral for social integration.
    The biggest challenges in development were (1) counting pixels to determine % of screen filled so that it didn't impact negatively on performance, and (2) tracking down and elliminating memory allocations during the game loop.  There are still some optimisations to do, but I think it went pretty well!  Unfortunately it runs a bit too slow on iPad1 when teh action hots up, so that device has been elliminated.  A bug in Adobe AIR that has not been addresed yet also prevents facebook from working on iOS5.1.
    Enjoy!
    Peter

    Thanks lars. Appreciated.
    I can't post actual code of the libraries (because it is our 10yrs worth of IP and it's what allows us to make games that run well accross devcies etc) but i can share the basic principles etc!
    This is what some example code looks like for making a 'RasterSprite':
    // Import the assets from a swc library that contains graphics.
    // These are movieclips with a graphic on each frame
    import assets.CharacterAssets;
    import assets.UIAssets;
    // Initialise the rasteriser just once when the game is started, with a ref to stage
    Rasteriser.init( stage );
    // Rasterise the graphics (this technique is synchronous/blocking) but
    // there is another process that is for larger amounts of graphics.
    // First we set the 'scale'. This determines how big to rip the graphics so that they
    // are always the correct size for the screen/device they are running on.
    Rasteriser.scale = scaleOfGame;
    Rasteriser.rip( CharacterAssets );
    Rasteriser.rip( UIAssets );
    // At this point, each frame is 'ripped' to a bitmapData that is cached in a vector
    // When we need to create a RasterSprite, we use the following technique, which
    // grabs one from a static object pool within RasterSprite:
    var character : RasterSprite = RasterSprite.create( 'CharacterAssets', 12, 15 ); // frames 12 to 15
    character.gotoAndStop(3); // This would be frame 14 of the CharacterAssets clip
    addChild( character );
    var titleGraphic : RasterSprite = RasterSprite.create( 'UIAssets', 7 );
    addChild( title );
    // When we don't need them anymore:
    character.recycle(); // Removes from display list and places back in object pool
    character = null;
    title.recycle();
    title = null;
    The Rasteriser is a static class that handles ripping the graphics and caching them.
    The RasterSprite is a Sprite that contains a Bitmap.  The bitmapData is one from the Rasterisers cache.
    The Rasteriser rips any graphics to a bitmapData at any scale, including any transformations, color transforms, filters etc. Everything maintains the correct scale (e.g. if you rip a graphic at scale 5.3, then the filters are also scaled by 5.3).  This is the magic that both allows the games to run on any resolution screen, and also allows the game to use GPU mode while effectively maintaining filters.
    This is the basic process for ripping the vector-based graphics to bitmapData.
    here we assume that the clip (if it is a movieClip) is 'stopped' on the frame you want to rip:
    1) Step through each filter and scale it's properties to the desired scale
    2) Add the clip to a container sprite (We rip the container. This is what preserves the clips transformation, alpha etc.  If we rip the clip directly all that stuff is ignored).
    3) Find the 'bounds' of the graphics within the container INCLUDING filters.  This is important because if a graphics are 100px wide, the content is not always from x=0 to x=100. It may from x=-26 to x=74.
    4) Create a new BitmapData the correct size (of bounds)
    5) Create a matrix to offset the content so that it IS at 0,0
    6) Use BitmapData.drawWithQuality to draw the container to the BitmapData
    7) Create a bitmap with that bitmapData, and offset the bitmap to counter-act step 5 and place graphics back at correct spot
    8) Optionally, scale all teh filters back again so that the original clip is not affected
    9) Remove the clip from the temporary container
    Anything specific you'd like to know?

  • How to change the color of a bullet

    I'm new to InDesign CS3. I've figured out how to create a bullet list, even change the bullet to something custom. But I now want to change the color of the bullets. I want to keep the text black, but have the bullets be a different color. Can someone point me to the method to do this.
    Many, many thanks!

    I don't "want" anithing in particular, much less turning inDesign into MS Word I do believe UX could be improved making it more intuitive while keeping the advanced features of Style libraries that can be applied across pages of a large project. On that note I am quite aware of the differenced between inDesign and MSWord as someone who has been working in DTP though that's not a daily activity at this time
    How would the program know what you want? Would you want specific keystrokes to invoke some sort of treatment to your text?
    Maybe I should've been more specific and thorough, my bad... it's not by some magic spell that the program would know "what I want" nor I mentioned keyboard shortcuts to perform "some sort of treatment" to the text.
    Looks like we have a case of "what we have here is a failure to communicate" LOL! ...And is most llikely my fault... perhaps I haven't been clear and simple enough in my explanation of how I would envision a more intuitive UI which would make for a more friendly UX.
    Let me try again:
    The program knows that the item selected is a list because when selecting a bulleted list in inDesign that's what happens... it's not a new feature, it's already context-aware.
    To see what I mean create a text area, and type 3 lines of text, then turn it into a bulleted list by clicking the bullet list button.
    At this point select the list...
    You will notice that once you highlight the list, the bullet list button in the properties toolbar (the same that contains font size, paragraph, alignment buttons and so on) will turn "on" showing the typical selected sate with a darker gray gradient effect, to indicate that the bullet list is selected because that attribute is active on the text area created by the type tool...
    ... I hope the concept above is clear and it's a fact that the program knows not "what I want", which wasn't even the point.. but knows that the selected item is a bullet list made of text that the user has written to which the program attached default basic bulletpoints at each "new line"
    Now, since we can agree that we have one object (the text field) that has been associated with another object (the bullet points added by the program) it should also be clear which "two objects" I was referring to.
    At this point, both ourselves and the program are aware to have 2 objects... and as we know they have several modifiable properties such as size, color, font, and so on as previously mentioned.
    So with the above cleared out, we now have:
    Object userTypedText
    and
    Object programAddedBulletPoints
    We know that they both have mofifiable property such as color, fontFamily, fontSize and few others I'll skip for example sake.
    Back to my original point of simplifying, it really boils down to allowing the Object userTypedText and the object programAddedBulletPoints to be separately accessible by users allowing them to change the properties, much like already done when selecting the text and changing font size for instance.
    All I was talking about was simply to allow users to modify properties of bullets or index of a list via an inspector (a currently missing feature) that would let users access and modify right away the properties of the programAddedBulletPoints that at this time can only be modified via the process illustrated by Nilsy.
    If you imagine that one would need to go through the same style "workflow" to merely change the fontsize or font color, you would surely agree that would be nonsense and should be done by a more immediately user-accessible character panel... so that's what I am suggesting: to have a more immediately user-accessible bullet/index property panel to let users select and edit both unordered and ordered lists appearance without forcing users to resort to having to jump between multiple style-formatting windows buried in tabbed panes.
    I hope I've been able to illustrate what I meant in my original comment.
    Cheers!

  • Bullet (unordered) sublists within number (ordered) lists are displayed incorrectly

    In my FrameMaker source, I've got the usual L1 Bullet List,
    L2 Number List, L3 Bullet Sublist, L4 Number Sublist styles
    defined. I've imported the source by reference into RoboHelp, and
    I've mapped the FrameMaker styles via fmstyles.css to RoboHelp
    styles. I've resolved almost all the style issues, but a nasty one
    remains: Bullet sublists within number lists are not displayed
    properly.
    All the combinations of lists and sublists look fine in
    FrameMaker. In the help (WebHelp) that RoboHelp produces, bullet
    sublists within bullet lists are displayed as I would expect: The
    sublists are indented and have a different bullet style (circles
    rather than disks) relative to the "parent" list. Bullet sublists
    within number lists, however, are displayed incorrectly. They are
    indented too far (twice as far as I they should be), and they use
    the wrong bullet style (circles rather than disks). No matter how
    many times I use the style editor to try to convince RoboHelp to
    display bullet sublists within number with the correct indentation
    and bullet style, I get the same result. Has anyone every fought
    this battle and won? If so, how did you do it?
    Thanks!

    I think you cannot mix bullet and numbered lists at different
    levels during the import because RoboHelp makes one single list out
    of the entire list/sublist order. I.e., after the import, all list
    items are simple items in one list even though they belonged to
    different list levels in the original document.
    I did succeed in using bulleted sublists within normal bullet
    lists. I created a second CSS style in the import dialog (with a
    larger indention) and mapped it to the FM-style that resembles the
    sublist items. But due to RH putting all items into one list, you
    cannot mix different bullet styles. Most browsers will ignore this
    and display a sinlge bullet style for all items in the list.

  • Bullet and number styles different when viewed

    I'm using RoboHelp 6 to produce a WebHelp project.
    It seems like the bullet and number styles behave differently
    than the other styles. There is an automatic indent, even though
    Left is set to 0, and a tab. I have been able to get the View
    Selected Item to look the way I want (with a hanging indent that
    aligns under the tabbed text) even though it looks very different
    in the WYSIWYG Editor.
    With the Number style, the font size seems much larger in the
    View Selected Item than it does in the WYSIWYG Editor. Is there a
    way to know what the font size will be/look like to the Help user?
    The number size also seems to be different if I use the Create a
    Number List button or use the Number style. What is the difference
    between using the style and using the button? Can I control the
    number and bullet font and size?
    I'm still learning.
    Thanks

    Bummer!
    RH doesn't always remove every piece of code when you, for
    instance, select bolded characters and click the Bold toolbar
    button; it often adds another SPAN tag for normal inside or outside
    the bold tag!
    The surest way I know to completely purge content is to
    filter it through a plain text editor like Notepad:
    1. In the RH topic, select the content (some paragraphs or
    the entire topic).
    2. Cut it (Ctrl+X).
    3. Paste it into Notepad (Ctrl+V).
    4. In Notepad, select and cut the content.
    5. In the RH topic, paste the purged content where the old
    content used to be.
    Each paragraph will only get P tags assigned to it, allowing
    you then to style your way through them. Of course, this
    slash-and-burn method eliminates all hyperlinks, pop-ups, etc., so
    plan accordingly.
    Good luck,
    Leon

  • Blank vertical spacing too large

    In the process of creating a website and unable to shorten
    the gap between an h2 and new line. Can someone please advise. To
    see what I'm talking about:
    http://www.waynebsmithinc.com/barge/index.html.
    I want the bulleted text directly under the headings, without the
    large gap. Can this be done and if so, how? Thanks,

    Your h2 has a bottom margin of 20 px, your ul has a top
    margin of 16px. Set
    the ul top margin to 0 and then reduce the h2 bottom margin
    as needed.
