Large Contact Note crashes my iPod Touch or silently blocks sync

I added a 111KB Note to an existing contact’s Notes field. Initially synchronization silently failed (reminiscent of http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2043070, but for Contacts, not the Notes app). After rebooting the Mac, synchronization worked, but viewing the entry silently quit Contacts twice in a row. I’m reluctant to experiment with this, so I deleted the note, and it now works.
This may be similar to <http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2046688>, but that discussion is closed.
Here are some console log entries, before and after the reboot:

I am running Windows 8. Although my contacts and notes from my Ipod touch  show up on icloud my calendar entries do not show up even though they do show up in my Google calendar and my windows phone calendar. Any suggestions not already covered in trouble shooting articles?

As I mentioned earlier, you have to decide which calendar you want to use.  You can either use Google or iCloud, but not both.
If you want to use your iCloud calendar, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Calendar section) and set this to your iCloud calendar.  After doing so, all new events you add to your calendar will be added by default to your iCloud calendar, and as a result, will appear on icloud.com and your computer (if it is syncing calendars with your iCloud account).
If, on the other hand, you want to use your Google calendar (as it sounds like you are doing with your iPod), simply add the same Google calendar to your phone and your computer.

  • ITunes 9.0.1 not showing my iPod Touch since I installed OS 10.5.8

    Your help, please...
iTunes 9.0.1 is not showing my iPod Touch since I installed OS 10.5.8.
Your ideas are welcome, because I'm out of them.
    Thank you,
    Dean Leutscher

It looks like part of the crash report is missing. But at the top of your message it states there's an issue with the xmlTextReader in Pages. I guess this means Pages is having trouble opening, closing or saving the document.
If this only happens with one Pages document then it may just be corrupt.
If this happens with any Pages document then I'd suggest deleting Pages, reinstalling it from DVD/Mac App Store, updating it and then trying to work with a document.
If this doesn't answer your question please provide more information eg what steps to take to cause the problem, if it happens with one or many documents, if you get any error message at all, etc.

  • I have a new iPhone. I want to transfer Notes from an iPod Touch 3 to my iPhone using iCloud but I can't get anywhere. Help.

I have a new iPhone and I want to transfer my Notes from an iPod Touch 3. I've tried using iCloud but can't get anywhere. Help.

Since you have purchased a new Mac (which, BTW, is not typed in all capitals) why not buy a Time Capsule <http://www.apple.com/airport-time-capsule/> which is designed specifically to work with OS X and Time Machine?
You don't say what part of your Sony "crashed." If it was not the HDD it is possible to take the computer apart, put the HDD in an external case, then recover the data off of it (including the music) simply drag-n-drop. If it was the HDD that "crashed" that makes it more difficult.
If you are able to recover the music from the Sony you can then add it to the iTunes library on the Mac and iTunes Match will then scan, match and upload the tracks to be mirrored in the cloud.

  • Can Not Redeem Gifted iPod Touch App

    Hello,
as the title reads I was gifted 2 apps, the transaction went through and the email came but when I click on the button to redeem my app first of all, it says that I done have itunes on my pc (which I do and is all up to date) but that's not a problem because I click on the button saying "I do have itunes installed". Now, it shoots me into the itunes with a heading of "Redeem Code" the code is already entered and it is apparently not valid. This is the message I receive "The code you have entered is not recognized as a valid code". Any help?

    Thx for your answers!!

Restore from backup. See the restoring topic of:
    iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iTunes backup
To help prevent the last backup from being overwritten and thus erasing the Messages from the last backup turn off autosyncing so that you have to overtly start a sync. To turn off go iTunes>Preferences>Devices and check the box that says "Prevent iPods...".

  • Sony icfcs10ip "not supported" by ipod touch

My son has a 4th generation iPod touch. We purchased a Sony icfcs10ip iPod docking station for him in August 2011. It worked great with his iPod Touch.
Now it will not work. In fact, it gives a message "This Accessory is Not Supported by iPod touch." However, the Sony dock will work just fine with my iPhone4 and my daughter's 4th generation iPod touch. As far as I can tell, my daughter's iPod is identical, although hers is newer than his. My son's iPod was purchased in December 2010 and my daughter's iPod was purchased in July 2011. They are both 32 GB iPod Touch models, 4th gen.
You might think the problem is with my son's iPod, but it will work with two other iPod music docking stations, one which is very old (Apple Hifi) and one which is very new (a Philips music dock that is only 2 months old).
His iPod is updated to the latest OS (version 5.01). I tried doing the "reset all settings," which does everything but erasing all the content. My son doesn't want me to do the full reset because he is worried that he will lose all his levels on the games he likes to play.
Is there any difference between a 4th gen iPod touch purchased in Dec. 2010 and a 4th gen iPod touch purchased in July 2011? Was there a software update that made the Sony dock unusable?
    TIA for any help!

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
