Large Idoc transfer to XI

Hi
We are working with a customer who intends to send big IDOC (up to 5 megabytes) from a CRM backend system to
XI. We would appreciate any information regarding
XI performance in receiving this type of big IDOC.
Thank you,
Binh

Hi,
>>I performance in receiving this type of big IDOC.
this should be fine. But you sure can use some pointers while developing.
1. for you to be able to user message mapping graphical editor make sure you increase ur heap size in exchange profile.
2. when you import the idoc into IR, make sure you reduce the idoc, tools-> export-> reduced xsd. use this xsd in message mappings, other wise the mapping tool will fail with a memory dump failure error.
3. if you are sending multiple IDOCs, make sure u r doing IDOC pacakaging and event based processing.
cheers,
naveen

  • Outbound delivery creation with inbound IDOC transfer from Java system

    Dear Experts,
The scenario we are having is really very interesting. Hopefully its a good learning for me and also for others also.
    The scenario is,
After sales order creation the details will be sent to one Non SAP system (Java) for performing some tasks related to forwarding agent decision, shipping date and etc. Once the details are finalized in that Java system then, the details needs to be transferred to SAP as "Inbound IDOC" process. For this proposed to use the SAP Jco middle ware.
Once the details transfered from Java system to SAP then, the outbound IDOC needs to get generated automatically. Assuming the stock for that sales order line item is available. Also one more complexity is, our client is using custom transaction (ZVl10C) for delivery creation.
    Now Query is,
                   1. Which IDOC, message type and Functional module needs to be used for creating the delivery automatically..??
                   2. As per assumption, stock of that sales order line item should be available. Due to some business reason the stock was removed during inbound IDOC transfer then, what will happen to the IDOC..?. How to avoid this situation..??
                   3. As we told we are re going to use SAP Jco b/w SAP & Java system. In this case, how the data will get transfered from Java system to SAP..?
Thanks in advance for the replies I am going to get

  • IDOC transfer from ECC to XI

    Hi
Im trying to trigger an IDOC transfer automatically when a material is created to XI system.
I activated matmas change pointers and I'm able to create IDOC but its not getting transferred to XI system. IDOC status is 03 - sent to port OK.
What are the configurations I should take for registering the port in XI? And why is that in WE 20, in creating partner profile, Im unable to select message type, matmas in inbound and outbound parmaters?

  • Out of Memory problem at large IDocs (HRMD_A.HRMD_A06)

    Hello,
we need help at the following problem:
We send HRMD_A.HRMD_A06 IDocs in a IDOC->XI->IDOC Scenario.
In this scenario there is a small graphical Mapping. When
we send 100 Idocs, after 15 - 30 Minutes all queues are stopped and the error "Out of Memory" is showing.
We have configured that Large IDocs are running in own queues (Max. 3 parallel), but the error is still there.
Only Solution this time is to restart the queues repeatly and at anytime the Idocs are all going through.
Has anyone a idea what we can do ?
    Regards,
    Christian

    Thanks for answers,
now after 15-30 Minutes a new Error shows:
"Timelimit Overstepped"  - In German Original "Zeitlimit Überschritten".
    and all Queues stopped.
    What can i do ?

  • Creating large idoc

    Hi,
I am relatively new to SAP. I want to generate very large IDOC ( >=3GB) from SAP R/3 system and send it to my application. As of now, i used to create a MATCOR idoc using BD10. I didnt do any other configuration. But the size of the IDOC generated is small. Can some one tell me what configurations/settings i should do to generate large IDOC?
    Thanks in advance,
    Poornima.K

    Hi,
Basically there is no size limit for idocs. But we have size limit for data in the segments which cannot exceed more than 1000bytes.
I have checked the basic type MATCOR01 related to the message type MATCOR and found the followign information.
Header segment E1MARAC can appear from 1 to 9999 times max.(Calculate the corresponding bytes)
Item Segment E1MAKTC can appear from 1 to 99 times max(Calculate the corresponding bytes).
SO obviously you cannot send 3gb with this idoc.
For your information a segment can appear a maximum of 9999999999 times in an idoc( Calculate the no of bytes).
If you are sending the data to any middleware jus check whether it is capable of handing such a huge size idoc. Because practically i have faced many problems while sending an idoc to MQ-Series due to size constraints.
    Cheers,
    Hakim

  • Idoc transfer problem

    Hi friends..
Im facing the idoc transfer issue for the last 4 days more frequently...with the idoc status 64.
I went through some notes, and i think every time manually pushing the idoc is not the right solution..
can anyone give some input to solve this issue permanently....
    thanks & regards
    ragu

    thanks riccardo and raj..
i checked the r/3 source system connectivity,it is not ok.
so i think it is related to that the idocs are not getting transferred properly.
now we re activated the source system in admin workbench.
so do i need the replicate the data sources again,or i can just continue without doing any other changes..

  • IDOC Transfer

I am doing a IDOC transfer from a HR system to RPM system. I have done the required ALE configurations in both the systems. But on creating idoc (PFAL tranx) from HR side  the idoc is created with the error
"Could not find code page for the recieving system "
    The description states
"For the logical destination PCCCLNT100, you want to determine the code page in which the data is sent with RFC. However, this is not currently possible, and the IDoc cannot yet be dispatched."
Is there any configuration i missed out... ?

    Hi Roshith R,
    1. 1st chk the status of the IDoc if the status is 03 it means taht the data passed to port is ok.
    2. Then Run the Program RBDMOIND in se38.
    3. Then chk the status of the IDoc in we05 if the status changes from 03 to 12 then it means the IDoc has been posted sucessfully or despatch ok.
    4. In the reciever system chk the status of Inbound IDoc in we05.
    5. In the reciever system go to we19 get the Idoc numbr from we05
    6. Place the Idoc number n execute.
    7. There will a FM avaliable thro which u can process.
    Regds.

  • PSA Vs IDOC transfer method

    Hello BW Experts,
Most of the time i have observed the PSA data transfer method being used.
    1) if the use of psa transfer method is only for the purpose of having the temporary storate, then can we go for the IDOC method if we are not using the temporary storage.
    2) What is the advantage of using IDOC method over PSA when the temporary storage for the load is not required.
    Thanks,
    BWer

    Hi,
Persistent Staging Area is a transparent database table in which request data is stored in the form of transfer structure.A PSA is created per datasource and source system. It represents an initial store in BW in which the requested data is saved unchanged for source system.PSA
    1) Checks whether extraction from source system is complete
2)ensures data quality, supports editing, reconstruction and deletion of data.
IDoc is an Intermediate Document container for exchanging data between R/3,R/2 and non-SAP systems.
It is a data transfer wherein the data is in the form of packets.
It is used in the case of flatfiles as debugging is easier.
IDoc method - The data is packed into IDocs by the source system and sent to BW.
PSA - In this method the data from the source system is stored in PSA tables before being updated in the Data Target/Info-object.
The PSA is generally the preferred method because of its various advantages like Reconstruction, Data editing, etc..
Idocs are generally preferred when the data comes from flatfile. However Idoc transfer method have a limitation - transfer structure must not have more than 1000 Bytes in the character format.
IDOC is only there because of compatibility reasons. It supports a smaller structure and has no other advantages. You should always use PSA.
1> DAta sources with the IDOC transfer methode are not supported with ODS object.
2> you can only create start routine for transfer methode PSA.

  • Want to Block Large IDoc at PI

I have a scenario where an ECC system sends IDocs to PI 7.0 and then they route to SAP MDM (MDM Adapter).  At times, we have had an issue where large idocs cause import issues at MDM.  We have (and continue to) looked into it on the MDM side, but I would also like to be able to block files larger than a certain filesize at the PI Receiver Determination.  I was thinking I could condition there and send smaller files on, but have larger files route elsewhere.
I see that I can use "Context Objects" in the receiver determination condition, and SourceFileSize is one of the options.  Problem is, the conditions only have operators EQ, NE, ~ and EX.  There is not a ">" or "<".  The XPath Expression field in the window where you select Context Object is also always grayed out.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi,
Instead of Creating Custom field and then cal culating file size in that field.
you can go with a simple approach.
Create XMLFILEPORT in ECC for that particular IDOC.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/3f/faa288bb7911d2897f0000e8216438/content.htm
Then pick up the IDOC XML by using File Adapter .
So it will be File to MDM Adapter scenario.
Then you can use enhanced receuiver determination to check the file size
You can go with enhanced receiver determination and using a mapping with dynamic configuration read the fileSize and then dynamically create the receiver determination.
If filesize<100 then create only receiver in mapping

  • INPUT: KT4/V vs CRC error in large data transfer/CD burning HERE!

This issue can be solved with BIOS update. KT4V & KT4 Ultra users who are having this problem can request for the TEST BIOS to test on your system. You may either pm/email me or Bas, or get it at http://ftp://ftp.heppen.be/MSI/
Please report back whether the test BIOS would really fix the problem, or cause any new problem, or any performance hit.
** this sounds like a Christmas Gift to KT4V users AND New Year Gift to KT4 Ultra users!!!  :D  **
To all KT4 Ultra and KT4V users, either you have data corruption or CRC error in large data transfer and CD burning or not, your inputs are needed.
Please list down your system specs as details as possible. Below here is a guideline, you may take this, CTRL-C (copy) and write your specs in your post.
    1. System specs:

    PCI-6:
PSU: (brand, model, total power, (estimated) combined power)
    BIOS revision:
    Operating System:
VIA 4-in-1 drivers : (if you installed it, tell us the version)
other drivers, services or applications might affect the data transfer such as : PCI Latency patch, WPCREDIT modifications, VCool, CoolerXP...
    2. CRC ERROR?
    PASS or FAIL
If PASS, let us know your BIOS settings.
    If FAIL, proceed as below:
    3. Please use these BIOS settings:
    1. Load BIOS Setup Default
    2. NO OVERCLOCK ON FSB! Set accordingly to your CPU
    2. Set RAM to
    a) SPD, if failed try
    b) User defined to the slowest RAM timings, ie 266,2.5,3,6,3,disable interleave,4,disable 1T, normal
If PASS, go for more extreme BIOS settings as you usually use:
    1. High Performance Default
    2. set RAM to the extreme timings
    3. DO NOT overclock yet until both 1. and 2. are PASS
    4. Try these suggestions:
    1. Microsoft IDE drivers (uninstall VIA 4-in-1's)
    2. VIA 4-in-1 different version's IDE filter driver?
    3. VIA IDE Miniport driver?
    4. use IDE-3 RAID channel for one HDD data transfer
    5. same HDD transfer, ie C:\dir1\*.* -> C:\dir2\*.*
    6. burn CD at 1x speed
    7. Set the HDD and/or CD to PIO mode, or slower UDMA mode.
    8. If and only if you know how to update BIOS correctly and willing to take some risks, try the BETA BIOS KT4 (1.25), KT4V (1.64) too.
Please report back your tests and experimentations of these suggestions.
If you have any workaround to deal with this issue other than set back FSB to 100Mhz, please tell us too.
    Thanks for your inputs!

VIA 4-in-1 drivers : Hyperion 4.45, only AGP and INF installed. IDE drivers are standard Win2k/SP3 ones.
    2. CRC ERROR?
    FAIL.
When i had my system, i tried installing Windows ME as i wanted to do dual-booting together with Win2K. When i tried to install NVIDIA Detonator drivers (Ver 30.82), it proceeded as normally and asked for a reboot, which i did, then it just hang before the start of Windows ME. I did a reboot, and later selected "Normal" as Windows ME detected a failed startup, and later i was able to enter Windows ME, but it reported that the NVIDIA Detonator drivers were invalid and of wrong type to my display card.
Later i tried to move my files from my C:\ to D:\ and it reported saying that my destination file is invalid.
When i changed my OS to Win2k/SP3 (no more dual-boot), and installed the same NVIDIA detonator driver version, it worked. When i started to copy files again, it later BSOD, and said PAGE_FAULT_ERROR (something like this). When installing from CDs, it will report that my .CAB files are corrupt or have insufficient swap file space (i set mine manually at 1.2Gb size). Then there are times during my reboots and entering win2k, i found my keyboard and mouse (all PS/2) not working and windows loads as usual.
Later i changed my PCI latency setting from 32 to 96, i managed to install from CD without much further issues.
Upon reading these posts here, i didn't realize that the MSI KT4 series or the KT400 chipset had so much issues! i have read from countless sites like extremetech and anandtech and none reported about this particular errors i have encountered during my first 2 days with this setup. (this is my first Athlon setup, i'm previously and Intel person-type).
So far, i conclude in my settings is that:
-32-Bit settings in Bios settings for CD/DVD/CD-RW must be disabled, i concur with Shumway's recommendations.
-DMA settings in Windows 2000 for CD/DVD/CD-RW must be set to PIO mode otherwise when copying from CD to HDD will have read errors.
-Installing the PCI latency fix really does wonders for my set. (PCI Latency fix ver 1.9). Now i can copy files from all my drives without worrying so much about CRC errors. Thank you, George E. Breese.
-I really want to know why in WinME i can't install the NVIDIA detonator drivers, while in Win2K i can.
I post again, once i have done some more tests to my system, especially CD-R writes.

  • Is graphical mapping best for a large IDoc mapping to file?

    Hello,
I have to map an IDoc to a file and 450+ lines are mandatory or needed to go a file output.  A lot of the lines need some value mapping.  Is XSLT or Java mapping better for this task?
    John Xi

    Hi,
If you require to do a lot of lookups and for large payloads, it would make sense to go for a Java mapping as in this case it would improve performance to some extent.
For large messages, please refer the follwong link to improve system performance.

Scenario3: I have to transfer Pension Number to CRM. Sorry I dont know the infotype number for Pension number.
Kindly help me out with these scenarios. I have not worked much on ALE so I am facing this prolem. Do I have to use the standard transaction PFAL or Customised.
    Thanks,
    Mohit

    hi
you can use PFAL to transfer HR master data.
the data transfer from r/3 to crm is by means of bdoc and not through idoc.
