Large Mozilla file, can't uninstall from add/remove programs

The mozilla file attached in the image can't be removed from add/remove files and I am unable to find it via the Windows search function (Windows 7 Pro 64-bit) and it is apparently 28+ GB... I'd really like to get that off my hard drive as it is taking up so much space.

You can probably ignore that entry as it looks like a leftover from an old Firefox installation.
A possibility is to edit the registry if you are comfortable doing that and inspect and remove this key.
*HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Mozilla Firefox
Note that all changes that you make in the registry editor are applied instantly and that there is no undo possible.
You can export key(s) in the registry editor before making changes.
If you are not comfortable with editing the registry then it is best to skip this step to edit the registry.

  • If I have corrupted bkup exec SQl Databases will they be removed if I uninstall SQL express 2005 from add remove programs?

The only things running when I run SQL management are Windows internal Database and SQl browser.
Both BKexec and mssql server are broken and won't start
I can't seem to find a way to connect to or delete the databases
I am using an outdated backup exec 11d so I cannot get support from Symantec
I want to know if uninstalling sqlserver express through add remove programs will remove the corrupt databases
This is in order to reinstall backup exec

    Hello,
Based on your description, it seems that a backup tool (backup exec) is corrupt and and you want to reinstall this tool.
Uninstall SQL Server will not remove database files. Are the database files (data file .mdf and log file .log) or backup file (.bak) still available in your disk? If the database files or backup file is not corrupted, you can attach or restore
the database form these files after you reinstall SQL Server.

  • Should I remove older versions of Java from Add/Remove Programs?

I have about 9 or 10 older versions of Java mostly version 5 updates 2-11installed in the Add/Remove programs section of Control Panel. Should I remove these or leave them installed before installing the next update 6.2?

Yea, you should definitely remove them via the add/remove tool.
Sometimes if you are developing for different versions you might
have more than one - but in most cases more than 1 or 2 is
    unnecessary.

  • Update re. getting rid of the "Ask" toolbar ("KM Player Toolbar")."Deleted" it and its "Updater" from "Add/Remove Programs" on "My Comptr": Not gone!

I deleted it and it's still on the front page of Firefox and Internet Explorer and in both address bars.

go to Firefox/Tools>Addon>Extension and make sure there were no Ask toolbar installed?

  • CS4 No longer in Add/Remove Programs

I installed CS4 Master Collection on my computer and had a lot of problems with it, so I decided to wipe it from my system and start over. This wasn't happening for me as it said the software was damaged.
I did a bit of research online and found that I could install a file from Adobe called CleanUp, which seemed to work at first, so I checked into the Add/Remove Programs to see if it was still installed. It was in the list, so I thought Adobe CleanUp didn't work so I tried again to uninstall from Add/Remove programs - It just popped up a message saying the software may have been already uninstalled, would I like to remove it from the Add/Remove Programs list, so I selected Yes.
But after a final check to see if CS4 really had gone, I went into the directory I first installed CS4 to, the files were still there (note: I have a custom install folder other than C:\Program Files, I save software installations to D:\Programs as my HD is partitioned and I use Vista which takes up a lot of space and the C:\ drive hardly has any to begin with, I know I know, but it came like that from the manufacturer).
So now, I can't uninstall CS4, manually or through Add/Remove Programs. I even tried to install CS4 again to see if it would just write over the current installation, but that wasn't happening for me. If anyone has any ideas or advice what I can do, that'd be great. If there is absolutely no way I can remove it, would deleting the CS4 folder cause any problems, especially as I reverted back to CS2 (the only other CS version I have right now).

It's a really mix to remove the CS4, in my personal opinion you probably have two options.
    1. to try to install the suite again a remove it
    2. to manually remove the folder where you install the software and through register remove from the list of add/remove software the unusable entrance for Adobe CS4
    a) run the utility regedit.exe
    b) if I'm not in a mistake it should be localized in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\windows\curren version\uninstall\
b.1) look arround the name that appear in the hives and just remove such which will be for the adobe CS4
    Take a look also in
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/247501 and http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314481
But first than all I recommend try to install again the suite a remove it.
by the way I hope your experience with Clean Script does not turn in a nightmare like in my case, which after running it, some links to re reference got damage as the help of MS office does not work anymore because xml files is not related to the right program or the starting of software like Windows Defender.
    Good Luck

  • Flash player .msi fails to install, multiple entries in add remove programs cant be deleted

we are seeing installation failures when using the .msi installatoin file.  We see an error 2753. The file 'InstallAX.exe' is not marked for installation.  Also, we shoe multiple entries in Add/Remove Programs for Flash Player, but they cannot be removed from add/remove programs.
We have tried the Flash Uninstall program, but it will not remove them either.
We have tried installing using the .exe and it installs, but still leaves the old "ghost" entries in add/remove programs.
Any help in cleaning up this up and allowing us to use the .msi would be greatly appreciated.

  • Have Windows XP, tried 4.0 beta but want to revert back to 3.6 so downloaded 3.6, now can't uninstall 4.0 as it is not listed in add/remove programs?

Only 3.6 is now listed in add/remove programs, so how do I uninstall 4.0?

There are several video download applications that work on Firefox 4, for example:
    * Video DownloadHelper - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper
    * Easy YouTube Video Downloader - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/easy-youtube-video-downl-10137
    * Flash Video Downloader (Youtube Downloader) - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/flash-video-downloader-youtube
Are there any other add-ons that you particularly want in Firefox 4? There may be updates to them or alternatives.
To downgrade to Firefox 3.6.* you can uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install Firefox 3.6.* available from http://www.mozilla.com - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.
For details of how to find your profile folder see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles

  • Firefox crashed 2 days ago and will now not open, and won't uninstall via Control panel add/remove programs; the files are still there on Windows Explorer. IE8 still works.

My PC is a fujitsuscaleo 600, last year I had a new hard drive and some extra RAM fitted and since then has been good - have used, and updated Firefox for over 6 years. in August I installed TrendMicro antivirus and for different reasons this has been uninstalled/re-installed twice. AFter letting it expire, I re-installed ParetoLogic PC health advisor (I think in August too)and allowed it to try updating some graphics drivers following a scan - this was unsuccessful so I marked them to ignore (something about my graphics card not supporting the drivers downoladed). I can see the mozilla files on WIndow Explorer but if I click 'remove' (control panel, add/remove programs) I get a very short 'hourglass' then nothing; if I click Firefox icon I get the same. Help!

  • How can I uninstall firefox when the add/remove programs in control panel doesn't work, nor does opening it in the run command?

I tried to uninstall firefox using the control panel, add/remove programs. When I click on remove it does nothing. Then I tried using run, firefox, uninstall, helper and this does nothing either. Is there another way to remove it or repair it? I am using windows xp not 2000.

For details of how to manually remove Firefox see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_Firefox - it gives details of the folders you need to delete.
What is your problem with Firefox, re-installing Firefox does not normally fix problems.
