Large number of new missing photos

I have a Library of 9500 images across 20+ folders. I have had no prior problems and have migrated the library to a new system using XP pro and Lightroom version 1.31 with no problems. All of the sudden several months later I now have 820 missing photos, and strangely they are scattered across all my folders. When I click on the ?, it tells me the photo is offline or missing. When I direct it to locate the missing photo it always tells me the old location which is correct and still valid. When I locate the file manually it tells me that this is not the same file name, and asks if I am sure? This is all very strange since the filenames are correct and have not been moved. When I tell it to go ahead it recognizes the file. That's great, but I still have 820 more files. How can I automate this process? None of my folder names are in red so I can't update an entire folder to speed up the process.
Thanks,
Mike

  • What is the max number of New-MailboxExportRequest that can be InProgress at the same time?

I haven't been able to find an answer for this, so I'm hoping someone can clarify off the top of their head.
If you queue up a large number of New-MailboxExportRequests, how many of them can be "InProgress" at once? I'm assuming there is an upper limit on the number that will be processed, with the others remaining queued.
As a follow up, is that default number something you can modify?

    Hi,
The default maximum simultaneous move requests is different for each parameter:
    MaxActiveMovesPerSourceMDB
    MaxActiveMovesPerTargetMDB
    MaxActiveMovesPerSourceServer
    MaxActiveMovesPerTargetServer
To override the default value, you can refer to the article provided by Josh above. Even though this article is for Exchange 2010, these values in Exchange 2013 are exactly the same ones set by default in Exchange 2010, Exchange 2013 follows them.

  • Selecting large number of photos

I have recently installed ilife 08. When I am in an event and want to select a large number of photos, I click on the first one and try to scroll down. When I stop scrolling, the screen jumps back to the first photo, making it very hard to select them all. Anyone else encountered this and know why?

Usually I find that when I want new events the photos I want to use are at the end of the event -- if you start up from the bottom until you find the first photo you want in the new event select it and click split -- that photo and all below it will now be in a new untittled event. You can continue on up the event and do this multiple times if needed.
If this does not do it select some of the photos you want in the new event and click new event. This will give you a new event with some photos in it - then go back to the original event and select more photos and cut them then paste them into the new event - repeat as necessary to complete the "move"

  • Help in sharing a large number of photos?

I am looking for a reasonably quick way of sharing a large number of photos with other members of my church as well as on other occasions family and friends.
The photos are all loaded onto my iPad at their original resolution and are high quality .jpegs taken with a Nikon DSLR (D7000).
I would prefer to use something "cloud" based rather than a commercial enterprise if possible but don't know how to do it.
Can someone give me some suggestions?  I am a long time PC user and am pretty adept at Windows but a stymied by the Apple system, particularly my inability, seemingly to really delete individual photos without finding them all over again somewhere else on the iPad.  Delete "everywhere" seems not to be quite accurate to describe what happens.
    Thanks for helping me out.

Try sharing it via photostream. It makes a link so people with non iOS devices can view them all you do is forware it to their emails........
heres a link for photstream.  Good luck!
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4379
Follow the steps below to create a shared photo stream. Note that you cannot share all the photos in My Photo Stream at one time. However, you can select images from it to create a shared photo stream.
On your device using iOS 6:
From the Home screen, tap Photos.
Tap the Photo Stream tab. (Note: You can also share images from your Camera Roll or an album in your Camera Roll. Tap the Albums tab, then tap Camera Roll or an Album. Continue with steps 4-7 below.)
Tap My Photo Stream, then tap Edit.
Tap each photo you'd like to add to the shared photo stream. A check mark will appear on selected photos. Tap Share.
Tap Photo Stream. (If this is not your first shared photo stream, you'll need to select New Photo Stream from the Add to a Photo Stream list.)
Enter the email addresses of the people with whom you'd like to share this new photo stream. Type in a name for your photo stream. To share this photo stream on iCloud.com, move the Public Website slider to the ON position. If you will be sharing your stream with someone who does not have an iCloud account, you will need to make the stream public. People without an iCloud account can view the stream in a web browser. Tap Next.
Optionally, you can add a comment for your new stream to introduce it. Tap Post.
To share a Stream with someone who wishes to view it from a web browser, or to post a shared photo stream to Facebook or Twitter:
Find the name of the shared photo stream from your list of photo streams and tap the blue arrow on your iPhone or iPod Touch. Tap Edit on your iPad, then tap the name of the shared photo stream.
    Tap Share Link.
To share with Facebook or Twitter, Tap either Facebook or Twitter, and tap Post.
To send the link in a message or email, tap Message or Email.
You can also opt to tap the Copy a link URL so that you can post it elsewhere.

I have a large number of photos imported into iPhoto with the dates wrong.  How can I adjust multiple photos (with varying dates) to the same, correct, date?

If I understand you correctly, when you enter a date in the Adjust Date and Time window, the picture does not update with the date you enter.  If that is the case then something is wrong with iPhoto or your perhaps your library.
How large a date change are you putting in?  iPhoto currently has an issue with date changes beyond about 60 years at a time.  If the difference between the current date on the image and the date you are entering is beyond that range that may explain why this is not working.
If that is not the case:
Remove the following to the trash and restart the computer and try again:
    Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.iphoto
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.iPhoto (There may be more than one. Remove them all.)
---NOTE: to get to the "home > library" hold down option on the keyboard and click on "Go" > "Library" while in the Finder.
    Let me know the results.

  • TS1702 how can I remove large number of photos on my iPhone 4s from iTunes using a PC - Lenovo Think Pad - so that I can reduce the space used on the phone by 50%?

how can I remove large number of photos on my iPhone 4s from iTunes using a PC - Lenovo Think Pad - so that I can reduce the space used on the phone by 50%?

You don't need iTunes for that. Simply connect the iPhone to the PC where it will be recognized as a camera. You can then select the photos you wish to transfer, transfer them, and delete them.

  • In new iOS 8 photos app, I am missing photos in photo view that are in album view

All my photos in the iPhoto app on my iMac appear correctly in the album view in the new Photos app on my iPhone 6.  However, not all the photos appear in the photos view.  To try and get the counts to match, in iTunes, I synced my iPhone after unchecking the syncing of photos.  I checked the Photos app on my iPhone and there were no photos.  Then I checked to sync all photos in iTunes and synced my iPhone again.  Every photo on my iMac was in the album view, but there were still missing photos in the photo view.
Anyone have this problem and a solution?

Thanks for your response.  Turns out the iPhotos database was corrupted.  I rebuilt it and now the counts match.
I do have summarize photos turned off as you suggested.
But now I have a new problem.  I have smart albums in iPhoto on my iMac that correspond to decades.  These albums and the photos they contain appear perfectly in the album view on my iPhone 6.  However, a few photos in the photos view appear with the wrong date.  So I'm working on resolving this.

  • A large number of songs, my kids bought under an account that nobody knows the password to.  The account name I know, but the email address associated with it is no longer available.  How do I authorize the songs to play on this new computer.

A large number of songs were bough under an itunes account that we no longer have the password for nor access to the old associated email address.  I know the account name but it no longer exists.  How do I now authorize these songs to play on this new computer.  I do know my current itunes account information.

It's not a good idea to post your email address on public forums, I've asked the hosts to remove them.
All content is tied to the account that downloaded them, and you can't currently transfer them to a different account. If you don't know the password to that account then you can try getting it reset via this page http://iforgot.apple.com . If you can't get it done that way then you can try getting access to the account by contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page. If you get access to it you can then change the primary email account on it to one that you have access to : http://appleid.apple.com

  • How do I create new versions of a large number of images, and place them in a new location?

    Hello!
I have been using Aperture for years, and have just one small problem.  There have been many times where I want to have multiple versions of a large number of images.  I like to do a color album and B&W album for example.
Previously, I would click on all the images at one, and select new version.  The problem is this puts all of the new versions in a stack.  I then have to open all the stacks, and one by one move the new versions to a different album.  Is there any way to streamline this proccess?  When it's only 10 images, it's no problem.  When it's a few hundred (or more) its rather time consuming..
What I'm hoping for is a way to either automatically have new versions populate a separate album, or for a way to easily select all the new versions I create at one time, and simply move them with as few steps as possible to a new destination.
    Thanks for any help,
    Ricardo

    Ricardo,
in addition to Kirby's and phosgraphis's excellent suggestions, you may want to use the filters to further restrict your versions to the ones you want to access.
    For example, you mentioned
I like to do a color album and B&W album for example.
You could easily separate the color versions from the black-and-white versions by using the filter rule:
    Adjustment includes Black&white
         or
    Adjustment does not include Black&white
With the above filter setting (Add rule > Adjustment includes Black&White) only the versions with Black&White adjustment are shown in the Browers. You could do similar to separate cropped versions from uncropped ones.
    Regards

I have a large number of photos I'd like to delete from my ipad 2 however from reading previous comments it seems I have to unsync from the original source computer. I'm in another country now and don't have access to it.  Is there another way?

You should be able to do this via the iPad directly.  Open the Photos application and the forward arrow, then select all of the photos you want to delete and click the red delete button.

  • Missing photos- have tried a number of steps. Help wanted.

Hello, first time here. Would appreciate some help.
Have read 15 or so pages of threads/questions which was useful.
In my iphoto 6.0.6 I have lost some photos since my last backup due to renaming of film roll names in finder, not through iphoto (I now know and wont do it again). The photos of a renewable energy site tour and my bday with all the german relatives, show up as grey thumbnail with question mark that when I click on it, is a grey photo with a question mark (can't find it I assume).
I had also recently trashed my iphoto trash (needed to clear some room), so any photos not knowing where to live, may have been ditched. My automatic syncing with my ipod also means that this 2nd backup has removed the deleted photos from my ipod.
In iphoto, I can get the image info of the missing photos but on searching in finder for the names, it does not find anything. Neither with manually looking in the Data, Modified and Originals folders in my iphoto library.
I have used holding 'apple and option when restarting iphoto' and clicked all the options together (backup up photo library photo first), it doesnt recover the photos and still leaves the grey thumbnails there.
Are the grey thumbnails and availability of missing photo info a function of some organising file of iphoto and/or are their other steps I could take to find them?
Have looked into Data Rescue & File Salvage (trial features have not helped/found them).
Hope someone can provide some tips.
    Carl

    Thanks for your reply TD.
In copying my iphoto library to the desktop, Creating a new library, and then recreating them the new library by dragging the original rolls- I am not sure this will solve my problem.
I have searched through the original folder for the photos I am after but they are no longer there. Recreating a new library from these folders will give me the photos I have now, get rid of the grey thumbnails & info of the photos I lost (and remove my albums etc as you said).
I am speculating that there was something going funny as both rolls that have 'corrupted'/ photos missing, and a new one I just did as a test (but not deleting the photos from the camera!) did not complete their download in one go, that is it would stop partway through the download, and I would need to click download again (a result of not enough startup diskspace), but they all downloaded. Perhaps there is is a process at the end of the download that it skipped, that makes the photos sit all nice and secure in iphoto.
    1) Can it be explained why the thumbnails and information (when I do apple 'i') are still there but the photos are missing?
    2) Is there still any advantage in recreating a library if I know the photos I want aren't in the originals folder?
    3) Can you comment on any implications on when iphoto doesn't download all the contents in one go. (e.g. stopped partway for not enough diskspace)
    My safety net for future:
    - More frequent backups
    - Backing up the library6.iPhoto file after each download (Automator?)
    - Clearing space, using new drive.
    - Turning off 'delete from camera' download option until I know they are all in there.
Thanks for your help and clarity.
