Large Number of Recipients

Client is trying to send out a mass email. This past week she couldn't do it, error message wasn't saved. Last week, she was able to do so, with the same email list.
Between that time, we updated her system. She was previously at 10.4, and had not updated her system since she bought computer in 2005 and now is up to date.
Not sure if this is a network issue, or compatibility issue.
Any help would be great. Thanks.

Paul,
Anyone who tries to send 1,000 emails will appear as a spammer. There is bound to be a limit on the max. number of emails you can send simultaneously. Many ISPs, including mine, will block any attempt to send more than a certain number of emails all at once.
It's a pain in the * when you want to contact a lot of people but on the other hand, it protects us all from spam.
The only way round it is to send small batches.

  • Mail - how to send to large number of recipients?

How can I send an email to a large number of recipients that I hold addresses for in a document without a) adding them to my contacts, and b) so that they can't all see each others addresses?

I thought about using BCC, but it seems a little messy although it would do the job.
Messy how?  That's exactly what it's for.  In fact, there's no other way to hide addresses from other recipients of the message.  The only other way to do it would be to script automated sending of one message per address, and that would get quite messy!
What is the maximum number of recipients that Mail can handle?
There's no limit enforced by Mail, AFAIK.  The limits come from the SMTP server you're using.
One of the issues I had when using Outlook on Windows for this by copying and pasting from a text document, was that if there was an invalid/non-existent address in the list, it would just return an error and I was never quite sure if the whole thing didn't send, or if it was just to the dodgy address(es).
In Mail, you'll just get a bounce message for any addresses that don't exist.  The one exception to that is addresses on the same server that you're sending from...  often, the server will simply reject the attempt to send to an address that it knows doesn't exist.  I'm not sure what kind of message the server returns in that case, though, and suspect it depends on the server.  It's been a while since I've seen such a problem.

  • Sending E-mail to large number of recipients

    Hi,
Note 598718 describes number of messages that is possible to send pr second if paralell prosessing is used:
"For all SAP technology Releases 6.xx, one of the next Support Packages will deliver a basic change of the SAPconect send job which will provide scalability of the throughput by using several parallel send jobs and/or application servers. This will allow a throughput of approximately 15 messages per second (about 1,000,000 messages per day)."
Does anybody know if this still is the limit (15 pr. second) in CRM 7.0 and if there is a way to improve this number?
    Regards,
    Ronny

  • Possible bug for emails with a large number of recipients

When receiving emails which was also sent to a large number of people (more than can fit in two lines), it then displays the text 'and 10 more..." or however more there are. Clicking on this text is supposed to then display all the email addresses the email was sent to. However clicking on this is for some reason doing nothing. Is this a bug, or am I the only one having this problem?

  • Mail to a large number of

    HI
I was wondering if there exists a software that handles group mails for a large number of recipients (like 400 adresses) at one time.
I think mail doesn't accept more than 50 adresses /mail at a time.
I used to use a PC based software called sarbacane designed for mass emailing (not spamming, that's understood .. !), with charts, statistics and remailing automatically to adresses that did not function etc ... does that exist for Mac ??
Thank you anyone who has the answer !!
    Stephanie

    Hello Stephanie
I do the same, and ran into the same problem. It was my ISP that was limiting how many emails I could send at once. I 'think' (because I'm not a tech person) that Mail takes the message and puts 50 or more address at the top. ISPs will see this as a possible spam mail out. I worked around this by creating groups of less than 50 email addresses (using Smart Groups), but after awhile it got very tedious having to sort and create criteria to keep each group to just less than 50.
There are commercial programs that manage large emailings. I use 'Mailings', and it works fine. I know that there are others as well. Most have a free trial version.
Instead of sending one message with lots of addresses, it sends the email multiple times - once to each person in your list. It takes longer (but it works in background, so who cares) but I have been able to send out to hundreds of addresses with no issues. Hope this helps.

  • Number of recipients restricted with specific host exceptions

    iMS Version: 6.1
I have a need to restrict all senders of email to 10 recipients in a single email message. However, one specific host needs to be able to send to an unlimited (or just a large number) number of recipients on a single message.
From some reading, this isn't all that easy to set up. However, since the exception host is known (by IP/name), we are hoping that simplifies things. Any thoughts?
(the exception host is a server which houses a learning management system. That system allows the professor to send email to the students in the course)

    Hi,
Possible to achieve. Requires a few steps though.
    1. Isolate off traffic from your LMS system (in this example represented by 1.2.3.4) to a new source channel:
Create a new mapping table in the style of the INTERNAL_IP mapping table (add to the mappings file) e.g. FRIENDLY_IP
    FRIENDLY_IP
      $(1.2.3.4/32)  $Y
      *  $NAdd a rewrite rule (imta.cnf) to direct traffic from the FRIENDLY_IP range to the tcp_friendly source channel (needs to be ABOVE the INTERNAL_IP rewrite rule which looks almost the same):
! Do mapping lookup for "friendly", non-internal IP addresses
[] $E$R${FRIENDLY_IP,$L}$U%[$L]@tcp_friendly-daemonCreate a new tcp_friendly channel. This should look the same as your existing tcp_intranet channel e.g.
    ! tcp_friendly
    tcp_friendly smtp mx single_sys subdirs 20 dequeue_removeroute maxjobs 7 pool SMTP_POOL maytlsserver allowswitchchannel saslswitchchannel tcp_auth missingrecipientpolicy 4
tcp_friendly-daemon2. Increase the recipient level on the tcp_friendly channel by adding the "recipientlimit <limit>" keyword e.g.
tcp_friendly smtp mx single_sys subdirs 20 dequeue_removeroute maxjobs 7 pool SMTP_POOL maytlsserver allowswitchchannel saslswitchchannel tcp_auth missingrecipientpolicy 4 recipientlimit 1003. Lock down the recipient limit for other traffic.
Edit the channel definitions for other source channels (such as tcp_local/tcp_intranet/tcp_submit/tcp_auth) and add a smaller recipient (recipientlimit 10) e.g.
    tcp_intranet smtp mx single_sys subdirs 20 dequeue_removeroute maxjobs 7 pool SMTP_POOL maytlsserver allowswitchchannel saslswitchchann
el tcp_auth missingrecipientpolicy 4 recipientlimit 10Then run ./imsimta cnbuild ; ./imsimta restart for it to take effect. You should see emails from your LMS system coming from tcp_friendly rather then tcp_local/tcp_intranet.
Recommend you run through and test these steps on a development/test system first of course.
    Regards,
    Shane.

  • Setting up and installing app from App Store on a large number of iPads

I need to set up and install just one application available on the Apple Store (not a free one) for 140 iPads. Already read the thoughts about setting up a large number of iPads. But as I'm not setting up any enterprise network for them and don't want to install profiles on them, I am wondering how to do that:
    - Multiple App Store Accounts to download the apps, or just the same one dowloading the app each time (as it's for a commercial use, I need one app per iPad)?
    Thanks for your thoughts
    Baptiste

This can be a challenge. The solution we have tried relies upon "gifting" the applicationn. You log into iTunes, purchase the app, then gift it by specifying a delivery email address. You can specify multiple recipients by repeating the process over and over again. The recipient then access the email containing the gift link on their ipad and installs it from a link within their email as displayed on the ipad. We've found in some preliminary testing that there is no need for the email address listed in the iTunes purchase to be the same email address as the iTunes acount address. This would be useful when the gift is sent to a corporate email address, but the iTunes account on the device is a different, personal email address. Whoever clicks the correct link from an ipad can install the app. It's not pretty by any means, but it avoids having to have each user purchase the app on their own and be re-imbursed.

  • Add tcode to large number of roles

    Hi all,
Is there a way to add a tcode to large number of roles (around 20) using pfcg? It would be great if I can do it once instead of modifying role by role.
    Thanks.

Yes, You can actually write a ABAP program, but bottom line is that you cant edit more than one role at a time in PFCG.
The program would also have to edit one role at a time

  • How to handle a large number of query parameters for a Browse screen

I need to implement an advanced search functionality in a browse screen for a large table.  The table has 80+ columns and therefore will have a large number of possible query parameters.  The screen will be built on a modeled query with all
of the parameters marked as optional.  Given the large number of parameters, I am thinking that it would be better to use a separate screen to receive the parameter input from the user, rather than a Popup.  Is it possible for example to have a search
button on the browse screen (screen a) open a new screen (screen b) that contains all of the search parameters, have the user enter the parameters they want, then click a button to send all of the parameters back to screen a where the query is executed and
the search results are returned to the table control?  This would effectively make screen b an advanced modal window for screen a.  In addition, if the user were to execute the query, then want to change a parameter, they would need to be able to
re-open screen b and have all of their original parameters still set.  How would you implement this, or otherwise deal with a large number of optional query parameters in the html client?  My initial thinking is to store all of the parameters in
an object and use beforeShown/afterClosed to pass them between the screens, but I'm not quite sure how to make that work.  TIA

Wow Josh, thanks.  I have a lot of reading to do.  What I ultimately plan to do with this (my other posts relate to this too), is have a separate screen for advanced filtering that also allows the user to save their queries if desired.
There is an excellent way to get at all of the query information in the Query_Executed() method.  I just put an extra Boolean parameter in the query called "SaveQuery" and when true, the Query_Executed event triggers an entry into a table with
the query name, user name, and parameter value pairs that the user entered.  Upon revisiting the screen, I want the user to be able to select from their saved queries and load all the screen parameters (screen properties) from their selected query.
I almost have it working.  It may be as easy as marking all of the screen properties that are query parameters as screen parameters (not required), then passing them in from the saved query data (filtered by username, queryname, and selected
item).  I'll post an update once I get it.  Probably will have some more questions as I go through it.  Thanks again!

  • I am trying to delete a large number of songs from my Itunes library without having to delete them one at a time.  How do I do that?

I am trying to delete a large number of songs from my itunes library without having to do it one at a time.  How can I do this.  All of my songs have check marks by them.  Help!

Then I suspect you do not have iTunes Match enabled. Using that "delete all" command in the Settings does not remove the music from the cloud, nor does it disable iTunes Match. With iTunes Match enabled you will still see all the music.
So go to Settings > iTunes and App Store and make sure iTunes Match is set to ON (green).

  • I have a large number of photos imported into iPhoto with the dates wrong.  How can I adjust multiple photos (with varying dates) to the same, correct, date?

I have a large number of photos imported into iPhoto with the dates wrong.  How can I adjust multiple photos (with varying dates) to the same, correct, date?

If I understand you correctly, when you enter a date in the Adjust Date and Time window, the picture does not update with the date you enter.  If that is the case then something is wrong with iPhoto or your perhaps your library.
How large a date change are you putting in?  iPhoto currently has an issue with date changes beyond about 60 years at a time.  If the difference between the current date on the image and the date you are entering is beyond that range that may explain why this is not working.
If that is not the case:
Remove the following to the trash and restart the computer and try again:
    Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.iphoto
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.iPhoto (There may be more than one. Remove them all.)
---NOTE: to get to the "home > library" hold down option on the keyboard and click on "Go" > "Library" while in the Finder.
    Let me know the results.

You don't need iTunes for that. Simply connect the iPhone to the PC where it will be recognized as a camera. You can then select the photos you wish to transfer, transfer them, and delete them.

  • How to remove large number of "sent" but still keep them available in case I need to search for something?

Over several years, I have accumulated some 1400 messages in the SENT folder.
Lately my Thunderbird is taking a long time for some actions that used to be instant, like selecting another message to read or delet.
I regularly remove incoming messages to keep the in-box under 300, and I have almost nothing in the other folders.
I tried changing the "local folders" to a different directory, but when I do that, all the old "sent" messages become un-available for searching and potentially continuing a conversation.
Is there a way to move the large number of "sent" messages from the "local folders" but still keep them available for access from within Thunderbird, in case I need something from past chains of replies?
