Large slide show stopping about every 98th image

I just finished a 644 image slide show. I'm on a Mac intel 9GB ram 1TB HD's Latest Snow Leopard 10.6.5 and iLife 11.
I start out with a black slide then my own title slide and end with a "to be continued" title slide. about 10 acoustic guitar audio songs. My SS stops for about 1 second all freese up and starts from that place still in sync. at abput each 98th image. It stopes at the exact place (image) no matter if I process in Pro Quality, Hight, or best. Also no matter im my audio is aiff, m4a or mp3. I'm burning from within iDVD on Maxell DVD-R and at 2X as it says in iDVD. My images are 720x480 72 dpi. When I burn no other app's are open and I don't do anything on my Mac untill burn is finished. Help please. Oh and my audio songs (insgtrumentals) are edited in Garage Band.

I've been able to minimize, but not eliminate, the pause by following this workflow:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the  File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option.  This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
At best it will be similar to the pause in commercial movie DVDs as they transition from the first layer to the second layer in double laryered disks.  The pause will vary on different DVD players.  My high end Sony pauses more than my cheaper conbo DVD/VHS Sony player.  Go figure.

  • Why does slide show stop working?

When I was creating tablet version layout from desktop layout, the slide show stopped working. Do you know why?

Seems odd, it should work. I would do a test. Add a new slideshow widget onto the tablet layout, leaving the images that Muse has and test to see if that works. If it does then there is an issue with the file you are coping in.

  • IPhoto slide show stopped working, just showing the first chosen picture, the same with the sound. iPhoto 9.5.1(902 17), MacBook Pro and Maverics. How to solve this problem?

iPhoto slide show stopped working, now showing just the first chosen picture, and the same with the music. iPhoto 9.5.1 (902.17), operating system Maverics 10.9.2
    How solve this problem?

There's a bug with iPhoto 9.5 and Mavericks in that slideshows from Albums do not play correctly if they are sorted manually.  Only photos that have been sorted by date, keyword, rating or title will play from albums correctly.
To have a slideshow with photos sorted manually use the slideshow mode in iPhoto.

  • Slide show with "reflections" under the images

Just tried iWeb to post image pages created in iPhoto. Things went quite well until I used the slide show feature in the finished page on the web. All images appear on a black background (even though I used a white background templare) and have a strip of "reflection" at the bottom. How can I remove this tacky and distracting feature? The Reflection slider and checkbox in the Graphic Inspector are grayed out and can't be used.

    Hi Will,
many thanks for your reply! But even your detailed explanation is way above my head. I'm so stupid, I couldn't even open the recommended url - any variation I tried (with my site name, album name or slide show inserted) landed me on a page of a company called theplanet.com and that was the end of it.
I'm using Macs and Apple software for their famous simplcity and user-friendliness, not to take lessons on html code. At least your response proves that others have found the reflection gimmick annoying as well. So maybe someone from Apple reads this and incorporates a "remove reflection" button in the next udate of iWeb.
    Thanksalot anyway

  • IWeb 09 slide show stopped working

    Hi
My slide show function will not work anymore. I have the proper box checked for the show to run. This started after the last OS update to 10.6.3.
I have not published the site yet....but the slide show function should work even if it has not been published yet would it not?
Don't know what else to do....
    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Thanks Old Toad

  • HOW TO FIX ?  SLIDE SHOW STOPPED WORKING

I am running IPhoto Ver 9.2.3.  ("Iphoto-11") on an Intel Imac Core i5 currently empowered by Mac OS Version 10.6.8.
Suddenly  ,my  Iphoto will no longer run slideshows.
None of the commands and buttons available in various IPhoto "views" will work tostart a slideshow and they all produce the same result:  a brief dimming or flashing of the screen and then - nothing:  absolutely no slide show .
I have tried turning off the screensaver slide show hoit corner, in case it was interfering but this has made no difference.
Iphoto's Slide Show has simply decided to suddenly no longer work .
What is the fix for this particular bug, weakness or susceptibility in the software ?  Anyone know ?
I can think of nothing I might have done to cause this failure.

Try this:  launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. If it does not then your current library is damaged.  If that's the case try the following:  make a temporary, backup copy (select the library and type Command+D) and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Music with slide show stops playing after about a minute

I tried a different song but had the same issue. Any suggestions to resolve this?

Why are you posting this question in an iWeb forum?  Does it have anything to do with iWeb?
Why not go and post it in the iPhoto forum and you might get more help there.

  • IPhoto 9.6 - slideshow to movie - text slides show only text and no image

Made slideshow in iPhoto 9.6. Runs fine in slideshow mode on my iMac. However, when I export it to my desktop as a movie, slides that I inserted text via the text slide feature (bottom right of iPhoto) - black with the text only - lost the image. This happens on most of the text slides.  followed similar procedure before w/ no issues.

  • Flash Slide Show - How to supress "loading images" message

    Thanks for looking -
I set up a simple 2-image slideshow in created in MX2004.
I'd prefer a blank rather than that brief loading message.
Is there a setting in the code to achieve this?
    Page is here: http://www.workandpartners.com/WAP/indexnewnav3.html
    TIA

There isn't any parameter in the current code that appears to control the preloader activity, so if one could be added, it would probably be a selection of whatever interface DW provided for creating the show.
If it's any use to you, I took a couple of minutes and created a simplified swf file using the two images.  It is a static piece, meaning you can't add/change images for it like the slideshow appears to support, and it does not preload, but it may pass for now... if not, the quick effort didn't kill my weekend plans.
The zip file linked here contains an html page which you can use to copy/paste the embedding code into your file, the swf file, and a javascript file that must also reside in the folder.  In the html head section there are two script tags that must also be added to the html head section of your file.

  • Desktop Wallpaper Slide-Show stopped working

I wanted to use the background slideshowing and it stopped working on my Windows. It's somehow funny, after restart Windows switches the background exactly 1 time. After this first time it doesn't work until I do another restart. I've tried several things to get it working, not loading all applications, using the built-in themes, removing graphics card drivers and much more.
But this is obviously a bug in Windows itself. (on 2 other PCs with Windows 7 RC it works like a charm).
    Any ideas?
    .

Deleting the SLIDESHOW.INI file located in:
    %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\
did the trick.  It's a hidden file, so, if you can't see it, you must set your viewer to "Show Hidden Files"
    Thanks for the help!
Whilst searching for a solution to this problem I tried all the suggestions on this thread. None worked for me but this one, from another forum, did:
Maybe your TranscodedWallpaper.jpg file has become corrupted.
Open explorer and type the following in the adress bar and hit Enter:
    %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\
    Here, rename TranscodedWallpaper.jpg to TranscodedWallpaper.old.
Next, double-click slideshow.ini file to open it with Notepad. Empty its contents. That is, select all the text and delete it. Save the changes (You'll probably need to remove the read only). Close explorer windows.
Now try editing your desktop background once more.
Like I said, this worked for me! Good luck if there's anyone else that needs help with this! :)

  • My iPhone when put on to charge, it just charges then stops, charges then stops about every second

When I put my phone on charge it is been crazy.
It charges then stops, charged then stops every second. It is driving me mad and is going to run out of life eventually.
    Any solutions??

My phone has the latest firmware, It is a replacement phone as the one I had until last week broke down and Orange replaced it.
It started doing this after using it for a few days, I discovered last night that i could only charge it from the PC i am using. We have 3 iphones in the house and a ipod touch and everything else works fine with all leeds both in wal and on the Pc and my Radio alarm clock docking station.
Unfortunatly while writing this it has also started  while charging on PC, I am jinxed as my last unit broke down and would not charge at all either and was told by the guys and the genius bar that it had totally malfunctioned and was unable to be fixed.

  • Picasa slide shows stopped working in Firefox. They work fine in Google chrome. How do I fix this problem?

I update a website for a Habitat for Humanity website. I have used the Picasa slideshows for years and they have worked perfectly in Firefox until Friday.
They still work perfectly in Google Chrome. So, the problem is specific to Firefox. I have updated the Flash Player. What do I need to do to fix the problem? It is important for our affiliate to have people be able to see the photos of volunteers at work building.

    Wow. Okay...
I'll let the real veterans in this forum tackle your issues one after the other. But, I can tell you, all will be well.
My only comment would be re: your computer specs:

To be completely honest, FCPX is a RAM hog. It just is. But, RAM is relatively cheap, and the pay-off is good.
4GB is right on the edge, IMHO. 16G is ideal.
I wish you luck, hang in there, and standby for more help.

  • Roll over images in a slide show

I am trying to make a slide show of before and after images for a client.
Rather than just have them all one after the other, I want all the after images to display as normal, and the before to display on hover for each slide.
I can make this work in a basic slide show when rather than adding an image to the Hero Image box, I use the fill and states.
However this only allows me to do one, as I can't add any more empty Hero Image boxes (or I don't know how to do that, is it possible?)
When I add an image via the slide show menu it appears on top of any fills, and I can't seem to give images added this way a roll over state.
Can anyone tell me how to either add extra blank Hero Image boxes, or how to apply the effect I want to the images in the Hero Image boxes.
Thanks in advance, if there is any further info I can provide about my problem, please let me know!
    M

    Hi,
You cannot add multiple hero image boxes within the same Slideshow. Now , you can use different slideshows for your different images but that wont give you the slideshow effect but you will be able to see all your after images at once and then if you rollover them you would be able to see the before images.
Now, In order to create the effect that you want, what I would suggest you is to use a 'Composition widget'. In the composition widget, you can make the triggers as small thumbnails for your images and in the Target you can set the fill as your after image and in rollover state you can use the before image. After this you can use the Autoplay feature available in the composition widget and you will get the desired result.
    Hope this helps

  • Error in Slide show dissolve transition - next image in background

I am using iDVD 7.04 to make some slideshows of a recent wedding. I have been making test versions using burn to a disc image. I then mount then mount the image and view with the DVD player on my Mac.
After a recent change where all I did was to reduce the number of pictures I noticed that some of the transitions between two slides go to far. That is the next image starts to appear over the current one. It is as if the transition has gone one step to far. It seems to occur randomly through out the 99 slide show, occurring about 50% of the time.
    Any ideas?

So no ideas from anybody else.
This is how I solved the problem: Instead of burning to a disc image and then using disc utility to make copies, I burnt the project to a disc directly. This method solved the problem.
I did check that it was not the DVD player on the Mac by burning the disc image to a DVD and playing that on a standalone player - still the same problem.
Looks like a bug to me.
