Large/small strategy

Hi,
I have defne a storage type with removal strategies "large/small bins", which kind of master data do I need to create?
I have updated the WM view for the material and entered the "control quantity", but it seems that it does not work,do I miss anything?
What's the completed process to use this strategy ?
Kindly please advise.

  • Picking Strategy M Large/small quantities

    Hi,
I am using the Picking Strategy M Large/small quantities included
And the control quantity in the material master is a pallet.
The problem is that in picking we have got several boxes that all together sum up a pallet but I want the user takes from Block storage (higher than picking storage unit)
Do you know how to solve it?
I think that the problem would be solved if the system proposes the palletization data from material master data
When I make an inbounds (receptions 101) it is working but not in outbounds (sales deliveries).
    Regards,
                       Enrique

    Hi,
I have maintained the palletization data in materiel master WM view,
For the entries 101, 501 it is working fine.
Example: pallet E1 is 100 units.
If I make a reception of 120 units. The system splits in 100 (1 pallet) and 20 units.
    This is OK.
But if I make a goods issue of 120 units. The system tries to get 120 units
This is not OK because in picking I don´t have pallets (I don´t manage SU) but may be I have 120 units from different pallets. They are single units.
So I have got two storage types: picking with units and blocks for pallets but the system does not convert units into pallets.
Obviously my customer orders units and not pallets.

                     Enrique

  • Picking issue - large/small QTY strategy

    Hello,
I have a question regarding the use of the large/small QTY picking strategy in SAP WMS:
My customer has a warehouse with one bulk and one picking area. We are using the large/small QTY picking strategy. If an order contains > 1 pallet of the material, it will be picked from the bulk area, otherwise picking from the picking area is used.
Now, I have the following scenario:
    My bulk area of Material A is empty;
The picking area (Material A) contains 2 pallets.
An order is placed for two pallets, Material A. When creating the TO, the system wants to fulfill this order with stock from the bulk area. This is correct from a large/small QTY point of view.
However, as there is no stock available at the bulk area, the order cannot be fullfilled. Now, I would expect that the stock from the picking area is used, so that the order can be fullfilled. Unfortunately, SAP does not automatically use this available stock because it is not allowed from a picking strategy point of view.
Of course, I would like to know if there is a solution available for this specific scenario... anyone?
    Regards,
    Oliver

    Hi,
I've got the same problem here at my customer. Any progress to report on this matter?
Work-around would be to change the quantity to an amount lower than the large/small quantity and split the amount in one or several step so you can pick from picking area. Result would be a transport order with several lines in the picking area.
    Any other suggestions on this?

    Arno

  • Large/Small quantity stock removal vs partial stock removal.

    Hi All,
I am trying to get following configuration in place: Stock removal A (partial pallet) with Full stock removal "Checked" and return the unused stock to storage type mentioned under "return storage type". But I am getting following error "For Compl. Stock removal or SU managed, either pick point or return to same bin). But if you see the SAP documentation it allows this configuration. My 2 storage types which I am using have SU & non-SU managed with putaway strategy as "next empty bin" as we don't know what are the weight or quantity restriction on each rack location for now.
My second config issue is related to usage of stock removal strategy M (large/small qty). Like mentioned above I have to area; SU & non-SU managed. And I would like to use F (FIFO) strategy for non-SU managed inventory and use M for SU managed inventory with an option of checking if the quantity is higher than SU, pick the remaining small quantity from non-SU managed place. Can I acheive with different stock removal at storage type level; one with M and another with F or do I need to have M.
Let me know if more clarity is required to provide responses.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
    For 1:
Partial picking can be done on a SU with the usage of a pick point . The pick point is a place where materials are brought and moved for a partial pick up from an SU. In the std system storage types 010 & 011 have been defined for the same.
you may refer to the following link: Partial pick using a pick point and how you carry out with SU's invloved.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/c6/f85c504afa11d182b90000e829fbfe/frameset.htm
    For 2:
When you want to use M  as the stock removal strategy, the following needs to be done:
    1) You define a "small" storage type where only a limited quantity can be removed. ( the control qty in the WM2 view of MM)
    2) You define a "large" storage type and this will be removing quantities above the control quantity limit
    3) Define the control quantity of all those materials that you want to be picked from the small storage type. (This could probably correspond to your SU qty, )
you need to have the smaller storage type set as "M " and when you are customizing search strategy for the storage types ( SPRO> LE>WM--> Strategies >stock removal strategies> Define strategy for large/ small qty, you can then define the first storage type for E as smaller storage type and then the larger storage type  i.e. the second one should be higher than the preceding one.
    Please see if this helps.
    Thanks,

What is happening in the most recent keynote when I click on a slide and it pulses (larger-smaller)  Two of my slides have disappeared in the navigator although if I play through them they are there and the slides have their orignal number--there are just white spaces where the slide should be and I can only get to the slide by clicking through from the prior slide.  How do I get the sldies back into the navigator so I can see them.  Oddly, they are show up just find on the light table.

Try removing any transitions or builds on these slides, or delete the slides then recreate them as fresh slides.
There are many playback anomalies in Keynote 6 which Apple have said they will be  sorting out next year.

  • Diplay Large/Small Icons  (Windows NT File Explorer look)

    Hi,
In a program, I have to display a list of elements. These elements are represented by an icon. All the elements must be "Drag and Droppable".
First step : I would like to know HOW to display my element's icons : using wich java component(s) ? Using wich method(s) of this/these java component(s) ? The display MUST be the same as the Windows NT File explorer (using Large Icon in the file list)
Second step : How make my elements "drag and droppable" ?
    Thanks in advance
    Anthony

The common use is to put directly the objects you want to manage into the list. After that, you have to
manage what is called the 'renderer' of the items in the list.
For more information, just read the API... it is really clear enough to get something working with the
    documentation. (see http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/javax/swing/JList.html)

  • Bouncing Files: Too Large/Small and doesn't play.

    Hey.
My bouncing function, having been fine for ages, has now gone wierd. In the Bouncing menu, it tells me the files are gonna be ridiculously huge, like over 100MB. Then when I try to play it in itunes or attach them to an email, it says its 4KB in size and doesn't play it.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks.

  • Stock Removal Strategy

    Hi,
We have requirement for removal Strategy
        Example:
       Stock Bin1: 300
                 Bin2: 500
       Requirement Qty: 500
System is picking 300 from Bin1 and 200 from Bin2. We don’t want to break the pallet. Is it possible to Pick the full quantity of 500 from Bin2?
    Thank You

Please use a user exit for picking:
    1) Activate the user exit for picking on storage type level settings
    2) Write code that first searches for candidate bins that have at least the quantity required on TO
You can achieve this easily, not too much coding is needed here. Just looping through candidate bins and selecting the first one with the qty >= of the requested qty.
As for standard, I have tried to achieve this for a client in customizing only, but never actually go it to work.
You can do something with M strategy - Large / Small quantities, but this is more influencing the search between storage types, not storage bins in the same storage type.
So, to cut the story short, go with the user-exit for picking.

  • Picking strategy M

Picking strategy M (Large/Small quantities) has been configured.
    Search sequence: 003 - 002
System should pick partial quantity from 003 and full pallet from 002.
    6 DU = 1 PAL
Control quantity in material master has been set to 5.
The problem is, when there is no stock in 003 and the quantity ordered is partial (say 1 DU), the system creates a transfer order for 6 DU from storage type: 002. According to configuration, the system should not be checking in 002 at all since quantity is less than 1 PAL, right?

    Hi Anushree,
T_QMAT contains the list of Quants fetched by System based on your Search Strategy. In case you do not wish to pick from a particular storage type because the quantity being picked is not a complete Pallet, then you need to modify that particular Quant Entry in T_QMAT.
Say for e.g. in your case no stock was found in 003, so system fetches the Quant from 002 for 1 DU. This particular entry should be deleted from T_QMAT as you don't want the system to consider it. Alternatively, if the Quantity had been say 10 DU and  you want 1 PAL to be picked from 002 but not the partial Pallet, then you need to modify the Quantity (AUSME or some other field-check in the table and you will find the correct field-as I am without SAP access right now) available in the Quant entry in T_QMAT (modification instead of deletion). So add the logic to check the Pallet conversion quantity and decide on modification or deletion of the particular Quant entry for the Storage type.
I am not sure if you have to set the indicator for exiting the TO creation Process-need to test it in the system, once I am logged in. But you can make code changes and debug the scenario to arrive at the results.
Alternative: Did you try making the storage type 002 a Pallet storage type with control quantity = Pallet quantity and see if it works.
Let me know how it goes.

    Shashi

  • Can videos be zipped/compressed to email as smaller attachments?

Could I do this if I purchased Quicktime rather than using the free download?
Even an 8-second video I shot takes too long to email. My others are too large to send via my ISP.
I tried zipping them using the "Compress" option but it didn't seem to work. When I checked "Get Info", they were the same size as the pre-zipped files.
If Quicktime Pro does do this, will friends who don't have Quicktime be able to unzip and watch them?
Also, does Quicktime Pro allow video capture?
    Thanx.

*Some suggestions regarding sending large files:*
If you both have High-speed connections, the easiest & fastest way is through AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) or any IM that has file transfers.
I send all my music & movie files this way instead of using email.
iChat has the same ability of transferring large files as AIM.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=150934
    Adium has file transfers.
    Yahoo Messenger has file transfers.
If you must use email, check out YouSendIt for large & small file transfers.

  • Publishing as Handout - Too small

    Captivate V5.5
I want to publish two slides on one page as Handouts.
    I have selected;
    "Use table in the output"
    "2 slides per page"
    "Include Objects and Questions"
When I open the Handout in word, the 2 slides on the one page are very small, almost the size of a thumbnail image.
Why is this and does anyone know how to increase the size of the two slides so that between them they fill the single page and can be used as a handout ?
    Noel

The handout template is hard coded. But, working with the other templates and the Word Output document, I was able to create a template that will allow you to publish the Word images and slide notes in Word. And, you can customize the placement on the page and image sizes.
Here are instructions (I'm using Captivate 6 BTW):
    1. Make all of your slide notes into closed captioning.
I was able to find the computer code to call the closed captions, but not the slide notes. So you have to drop some audio onto each slide (I'm using 1 second of silence generated in Audacity) and click the button that will turn your slide notes into closed captions. Don't worry...these won't display in your published project unless you have your skin set to display them.
    2. Open a new Word document.
    3. Copy and paste the script below into your Word document. This script as is will print 2 slides per page with slide notes above the images.
    [CPDefaultItemTemplates[CPTemplates[TIMEBLOCK[CPContentInsert]TIMEBLOCK]CPTemplates]CPDefa ultItemTemplates]
    [CPCapturedSlide
    [CPBlockInsert][CPTemplates[CC1[CPCC]CC1]
    [CCN[CPCC]CCN]CPTemplates]
    [CPSlideImage][size:282x214]
    CPCapturedSlide]
    [CPContentSlide
    [CPBlockInsert][CPTemplates[CC1[CPCC]CC1]
    [CCN[CPCC]CCN]CPTemplates]
    [CPSlideImage][size:282x214]
    CPContentSlide]
    4. Adjust the script to your liking:
    1. Change the image size. This is set to 282 x 214. But you can change the image size to whatever you want it to be. If you make the size larger, fewer will fit on a page.
    2. Move the slide notes, if you want. This is set to put the slide notes above the images. To put the notes below the images, move the [CPBlockInsert][CPTemplates[CC1[CPCC]CC1]
[CCN[CPCC]CCN]CPTemplates] to below [CPSlideImage][size:282x214]. Be sure to move both instances, and don't copy/paste...move!
    3. Use Word's formatting options to change the page display. For example, if you use Word to center the code about slide images, the slides will be centered on the page when you publish. You can add your company's logo in the header. Type CPMovieTitle into one place to print the project title...either header or footer. It won't work if you put it in more than one place for reasons known only to Captivate. You can put page numbers or dates in the footer. You can change the font for the slide notes by highlighting the notes code (see #3 above) and making it larger, smaller, different, bold, italic, etc., etc., etc. Whatever you would do with Word to format your handouts, do in this document.
    4. Add anything that you want to print on every page outside the [ ] blocks. For instance, if you want to blank lines to print under the notes, you can add before the code for the images.
    5. Save the Word document in .doc format with a memorable name where you can find it. You don't have to save with the templates in the Captivate program file.
    6. Publish to Print. In the upper, right corner, in the Type section, click the button with ... It's to the right of Handout. That will open a window which will allow you to browse to find and select your Word document. The Layout Options won't do anything, so no need to mess with them. Set the rest of your settings...like project title and publish location and publish.
Things that I don't know, but would like to:
    1. Will this work in Captivate 7? Will someone try and let us know?
    2. Can you save the Word file in .docx format?
    3. Can you set the Word doc to landscape instead of portrait? (I'll bet that you can, but haven't tried it.)
    4. What Word options won't work? I know that you can't put this code inside a Word table. Using column and page breaks, I got mine to print with the slide notes on the left and images on the right. Other than that, who knows? Word is a big program, so you'll just have to test.
    5. What is the code to call the slide notes? I've called Adobe support twice and can't get a straight answer. If we all start calling and emailing, maybe they'll tell us.
So, I hope this helps. There are so many threads about this and I can't repost everywhere. So, please link to this thread if you see another one where this info will help.
    Happy printing!
    Rebecca

  • Larger Tabs in Safari and Fire Fox

I just purchased a new flat screen LCD monitor for my Mac Mini. My new monitor is 24" compared to my old 20" Dell monitor.
I know how to make the font size larger/smaller within a web page (control + or -) but I can't figure out how to make the tab area at the top of the screen larger on both Safari and Fire Fox. How can I make the tab size larger so I can actually see them?
    Thanks!
    Gina in Texas

Don't return it until you try the resolution change. System Preferences>Hardware/Displays. It will not necessarily look blurry (I didn't have to decrease the rez on my display to such a degree). Play with it a little before you decide it's not working.
I also have lamented the lack of a way to increase the size of the system font. I looked in Universal Access system prefs, but zoom is all that's available there. That was when I just gave up and decreased the resolution on my display. It's still pretty clear to me from about 3 yards away, but my display is much larger than yours. That's why I haven't given any exact advice. You'll just have to tinker around. Make a note of what happens at each resolution and just go through them.
You may have to move your icons around when you figure out which one reads the best. I think you'd have to decrease the rez to a large degree on a very high rez device to really detect a noticeable blur. I'm just talking about tweeking it a bit. Don't start from the lowest and go up, start from your native display rez and go down. This worked for me. I hope it works for you.

  • VM exhibiting 100% disk busy time, large disk queue lengths

    Hi everyone,
We have a .VHD workload residing on a logical 2 x 136Gb RAID1 mirror pair of disks.
The .VHD file is 130Gb (with 70Gb of free space)
The Virtual Machine is running Windows 2008 R2 SP1, 4 cores and 8Gb of RAM and is exhibiting 100% disk busy time and disk queue lengths of anywhere between 14 and 44
I'm assuming this is because there is virtually no disk space on the logical drive. Ops Mgr 2012 R2 reports high memory pages/sec
So we backed up the .VHD workload, broke the RAID1 Mirror and inserted 2 x 300Gb  as a RAID1 mirror and restore the .VHD / VM
The Logical disk has 50% free disk space, however the VM is still exhibiting 100% disk busy time and the above disk queue lengths.
It is running on a Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 HP Proliant Server running the Hyper-V role under Server Core
    Any ideas most appreciated.

    Hi,
The mirror array doesn’t improve the disk performance but only for the disk redundancy, base on my experience some application frequent operate the large small files often
can use the large disk resource, if you can’t sure the high disk IO cause by the guest vm or host computer, you can use the Resource Monitor first to identify which process handled the high disk resource, then do the further troubleshooting:
The third party Resource Monitor use example:

  • When I receive email from friends it sometimes comes in with very small print, also attachments also attachments from those emails are in tiny print. Others are fine. Can some one help, please??

can some one please help me change the font size for incoming emails? some emails are fine others are very small and I cannot change them to read or print?

    Welcome Margaret!
How are you reading e-mail? in a browser (like Safari) or with a separate mail program like Apple Mail or MS Entourage?
Entourage and Mail have  'larger/smaller" text commands. In either, typing command + or command - will zoom or shrink the text.
The same commands work in the Safari browser.
Much of this comes from people with small-screen devices sending to people with really large screens. I have a friend who asks all his contacts to use a larger font than default when they e-mail him. He has a really cantankerous Windows box that will not let him increase font size in received messages.
If you have a 27-inch iMac the huge amount of screen real estate may make a lot of text hard to read. That's what I have, and I set the desktop resolution to a smaller number to get larger text. My 27-incher defaults to 2560x1440 and everything is small to my old eyes. I changed it to 1920x1080 and lost none of the sharpness but gained a lot in font size.
If you want to try this, go to System Preferences > Displays and make sure the "Displays", not "Color" tab is active. Click the round button next to "Scaled" and you'll be offered a selection of desktop resolutions.
Please let me know if I confused the issue!
