I did a test email to myself and the acct is working! Just has a large dot and does not show the "new message " icon anymore!

  • I don't have a white dot next to open applications on my doc

I just got a new logic board for my computer.   Now, when I have applications open there is no white dot next to their icon in my dock.  The only exceptions are applications that are open on login (Finder, etc.)
    Any ideas?

Actually, it's worse than that!  When I use Command-Tab, I only see the applications that started on startup, nothing else!

  • White dot on screen in Photoshop

    Hello,
Suddenly I've got a strange thing.
After opening new file, preferences, or any other window in Photoshop there is a white dot appearing in one place.
The white dot is visible only in Photoshop over anything except mouse arrow and toolbars (if you drag them over this white dot).
If I delete preferences on startup or manually - the first launch of Photoshop is ok - no white dot.
When I close it and start again - the white dot is in place again.
    Also.
If I use dual monitor configuration - there is no white dot.
If I on go disable second monitor - the dot appears after opening new window.
If I on go enable second monitor - the dot doesn't disappear.
    My specs:
    Macbook Pro 17
    Mac OS X Mavericks
    Photoshop CS5
Please help with ideas, I'm stuck.
    Thanks.

That's definitely not a dead pixel.
When I just click through Photoshop on my wallpaper - the dot magically disappears.
Activate Photoshop again - appears again.
    I've got an update info.
I've checked my GPUs work during this bug.
First launch after preferences reset causes Photoshop to use discrete GPU on start.
Second launch and after causes Photoshop to use integrated GPU on start and discrete GPU on opening preferences or opening or creating new file.
I'm sure that these two aspects are linked somehow.
Also I forced to use only integrated GPU. No dot.
Forced to use only discrete GPU. No dot.
So the problem is in Photoshop when it switches integrated GPU to discrete on on opening/creating file, or opening preferences.
Why it starts to happen only now - I don't know.
I haven't done any changes to preferences not in Photoshop, nor in System.
Forcing of GPU use is a partial solution, but it doesn't fix the problem suddenly appeared.
I doubt it's my hardware malfunctioning.

  • Many small black and white dots on LCD

I bought macbook pro 2 months ago, the 2.33 ghz core 2 duo wid 2 gig ram and ATi Radeon X1600 xt gfx card. Recently i noticed small black and white dots cluttered in one place. The rest of the screen has about 7 - 8 independent dots, I feel as if they are increasing day by day. Is there any permanent solution to this. I contacted the apple support and I'm waiting on their decision.

Thanx, but I think this is more of an hardware problem. Since its on the screen, I tried to take a screenshot, but the dots were not on the image. I have searched many times, it seems many people have this same problem, I think its the dead pixels, but this too much.

  • I was buy last 4 days new i phone 4 ,now one small white dot is come my screen

i was buy last 4 days new i phone 4 ,now one small white dot is come my screen

Sorry. We can't help you. It's no longer an iPhone. Apple won't touch it.
Take it to whoever replaced the screen and see if they can help you.
iPhones are not user servicable and Apple does not sell iPhone parts at all. I'd be surprised if you were actually able to back it up at this point. It sounds like it's completely borked.

  • 3 white dots ... and the cache

    Hi,
Trying to use V1 in a similar way to bridge, ie:
@ point it to a folder of RAW files
@ go away and let it sort the previews
@ come back and select the 'keepers'
but it doesn't seem to either:
@ go thru all the files in that folder - meaning that you have to select the image or make sure it's shown on the strip on the bottom (even when you Libraries>Preview>Render)
    or
@ once the preview is generated, it won't remember it - meaning that sometimes when you go back to an image that you've previously seen as crisp, you have to wait for the preview to re-generate
All of which the app is kind enough to advertise with the 3 white dots!
Has anyone sorted out this problem -as for me, i might as well stick to PS and Bridge if i can't even select the keepers easily ... seems like a starting place for the bofins who've made the app, which probably means that it's just me being dense, so any help much appreciated (especially as i've already paid for v1, tho haven't taken delivery)
    Cheers,
    Slater

This is where I feel like LR is the most sluggish (when browsing thumbnails). As others have posted here, I browse to a screen-full of thumbnails, and they go from "fuzzy" to "mostly-rendered" to "fully rendered." When I page down, the next screen of thumbnails goes through the same rendering process. When I page up to look at the first page of thumbnails again (the ones that rendered just a few seconds ago), they go through the process again.
It seems like something is wrong. Why does Bridge not go through this? Granted, Bridge will render the thumbnails for the first time viewing the folder, but from then on, scrolling up or down within the folder doesn't re-render the thumbnails. As a matter of fact, I can leave the folder, browse to another one, return to the original folder, and the thumbnails are still rendered. No waiting. It seems to me that if Bridge can do this, LR should be able to as well, especially since Bridge seems to be considered by so many to be poor software.
I hope this is something that can be fixed (assuming that Adobe considers it broken). Other areas of LR are more responsive from my point of view, but browsing thumbnails becomes such a drag that I feel compelled to use other software for the time being.

  • When rotated from landscape/portrait i get all these strange white dots   light bleeding

Hi, I purchased an iPad 2 white wi-fi 16gb about 2 weeks ago now and i have noticed that the backlight is bleeding, i figured that was normal since there are TONNES of posts on here about it saying it does, but they said it may clear up. it hasn't. Also when i tilt my screen from portrait/landscape these tiny white dots jump accross my screen like a glitch in the software, should i get a refund?

I've just discovered a similar issue, but it doesn't seem to have anything to do with vertical or horizontal. At least it is still happening when I turn photos sideways.
    To be very clear here
    1) This is not a thumbnail issue, these are the original files taken from my camera minutes ago.
    2) This is not initial blurriness while the photo loads.
    3) I only notice it in full screen (edit) mode because it's actually quite subtle.
    4) Photos display correctly (sharp) when you zoom in a little, but return to blurry when you zoom back out.
    5) Appears to be random, with one nearly identical shot being crisp and the next appears blurry, but the affect seems to be specific to particular images (e.g. it doesn't come and go randomly regardless of which pictures you happen to be looking at. If a photo is blurry, it will stay that way even if you've closed iPhoto and reopened it).
    6) Photos are from a Nikon D5000
Any suggestions? This is a ridiculous hassle as the OP mentioned, and is completely unacceptable in any photo editing/browsing software.

  • White dots on Pictures

I posted my website and some of the pictures i posted have little white dots all over them. But it is only like that when viewed on certain PC computers. So far 4 of 5 PCs I viewed my website on, there were the white dots. Can any one tell me why this is, and how can I fix it. my website is brookeimages.com

Ok, depending on what version of IE they have, it could be this thing.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/828682
Since it's an IE problem, if they can't upgrade their computer, they're stuck with it. The article mentions the problem happens when files are larger than the screen, so using smaller images might work.

  • NO White dot under open apps...

This issue has been happening to me quite a few times lately and started about a week before the 10.6.3 update was released. Everything works fine, and then all of a sudden, I come to open an app, the app opens, but the dock icon doesn't display the app as open.
Right now, I have Safari and Adium running, no white dot under their icons in the dock. I've tried re-adding the shortcuts to the dock, same issue. I've also tried relaunching Finder. FInder relaunches but when control-right clicking on the finder icon, it says that it's not responding. Sometimes Finder would actually crash and others i can continue to use my Mac until I'm fed up and reboot. After a reboot, all works well for a while, then.... It all happens again after a while.
I've used Onyx and run the entire automations scripts (fix permission, delete cache,.....) I've even repaired the HDD volume with the mac disc yesterday... Woke up to see that my mac is running Adium and Safari without the dock showing those apps are active....... If right click on the Adium icon, it says "Open", as if the app wasn't already.
I'm a pretty advanced user, I just can't figure this one out. Tried google, nothing. Can anyone help me

Unfortunately, not in any of Mac OS X's settings as they exist today. Now there are several shareware Dock customizing utilities that will let you change all kinds of things about the Dock. Yet I hesitate to recommend them as they introduce the possibility of instability to your system and are often broken with new OS updates.
You might consider submitting an Enhancement Request via the feedback form for Mac OS X:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html
Personally I would like to see a change. That tiny bluish/white glow is very subtle for weakening eyes.

  • How do I get rid of the white dot on my ipad

This white dot appeared on my iPad and I don't like it. How do I get rid of it?

If you're referring to a large white spot, perhaps you have Assistive Touch turned on. Settings>General>Accessibilty>Assistive Touch>Off

  • There is a red dot next to where my front camera is located. What is it

I don't know why but as I was looking at my phone this morning, I noticed a little red dot next to my front camera. I'm not sure what this is & how I need to fix it.

I'm not sure what you mean by the "front" camera. Is it the one that you use for selfies, or the one that you take pictures of other stuff with?
If it's the one on the back of the camera (the side that doesn't have the screen) that's the rangefinder.

  • White dot (not dead pixel) on external LCD monitor.

    Hi all,
I recently noticed a strange situation. I've owned a MacBook Pro 13" since October, and usually run it with an external Samsung T260 LCD monitor by MiniDP to DVI. I run the monitor at its full resolution of 1920x1200.
When I arrange the monitors so that the Samsung is on top of my MBP, there is a white dot about the size of a pixel approximately 3 inches from the left and 1/2 inch from the bottom of the screen. I thought it was a dead pixel, but when I move the external monitor to be on the left of the MBP, the white dot moves to 3 inches from the top and 1/2 inch from the right.
    * The white dot does not appear when I arrange the monitors in any other configuration.
    * The white dot appears when using MiniDP to VGA adapter as well.
    * When I zoom using the modifer key+scroll method, the white dot grows bigger.
I've tried using the JScreenFix applet, but as I said, it doesn't look like a dead pixel.
Can anyone offer any other suggestions, that may involved poking around in the Video RAM space?
    Thanks,
    -Tony

    Hi all,
Just returning to provide more information:
While playing around with my screen layouts, I found that the white dot is actually part of the menu bar graphic. I arranged my monitors and captured the screen to show the placement of the dot.
    http://picasaweb.google.com/tonychung.ca/SonicTheme#5423207200689428946
I hope Apple is able to fix this in the next SW update.
    Cheers,

  • Photos have white dots in burned project

I made a photo slideshow in imovie and the photos have white dots showing up on the dvd (but not on the computer). Any thoughts?

    Boot in safe mode -
Before ordering your book preview it using this method -http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it.
if the preview is good order while in safe mode and then boot back to standard mode
And did you do step one first? Boot in safe mode?
Previewing the book is Step 2

  • Weird white dots appearing in menu

    Hello everyone,
I just noticed today that everytime I open the menu up top and rollover a button, white dots appear. Each time I rollover, the dots change position. For example, if I roll over a selection, there are a lot of dots, and sometimes there aren't a lot of dots. It appear to only show when I roll over a selection in the menus up top or in the system preferences menu. They are sometime black dots too. It does not appear anywhere else, so I don't think they are dead pixels. I have turned off the translucent effect too, btu that did not fix it.
I added three photos for examples.
Two images show two different times I rolled over the same selection and the dots changed, and one image is in the system preferences as another example.

Well Buko that doesn't sound like an answer at all but as a workaround to a flaw in the program itself. Are you telling me that the only way to get a jpeg out of InDesign is to first export as a PDF? If that's the case, then it means Adobe has put out a product that doesn't work as it is supposed to.
Buko, you did not attempt to answer my question, and in fact tried to make me feel stupid for not seeing the obvious answer of spending more time doing what InDesign already should do. No one likes a smart aleck.
This is a serious question to the rest of the world. My question is NOT how to eventually get a jpeg. My question is this: Why can I not export a jpeg directly from InDesign? What is going on? Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a bug in our version of InDesign, or is this a common problem?
