Larger font preview size

How do I change the font preview size in the drop down font preview list in Adobe inDesign cs6?

It's in the Type section of the prefs...

Is it possible to increase the size of the font preview?
There is no way to really see the subtle differences between
fonts with such a small preview.
I am currently looking into a font manager but increasing the
size of the font preview in Fireworks eliminate that need for me.
    Thank you for your help.

Select your text. On the menu, click on Text> Editor...
If you check the "Show font" and "Show size & color"
checkboxes, the preview will show you how your text will look as
you change fonts using the drop-down box in the dialog.
As you change the font, the text in your image will change.
(You may need to arrange your image and the dialog box.) When I'm
experimenting, sometimes I like to click in the font drop down box,
select the first font, and then press the down arrow key repeatedly
to see text in all my fonts.
Joey's suggestion is to select the text, right-click on it
,and select Editor... It brings up the same dialog. If you're on a
Mac, you may have to hold down a key (Option?) while you click to
get this context menu, I don't know how that works. But the menu
    select
    will work.

  • Increase font preview size?

I'm not seeing an option to increase the preview size of the font list.  Is this still available?  (Not talking about the UI size, just the list of installed fonts and their preview).
Also, would like to suggest a way of having PS recognize fonts outside of the Windows directory.  Not sure why that changed, but having to install every font that I only use in Adobe PS is annoying.

Thanks guys   I swear I did not see that last night!

  • Font preview -- Photoshop CC -- Windows 7

EDIT: I did select "Large" from the TYPE menu (thought it was in Preferences), but this or "None" or the options did not change things.
    Windows 7
On my Laptop, I can scroll through my font menu and see the text change.
Not so on my Desktop. There, I can click in the font name box and use the up and down arrows to do this.
Trying to find why the difference, I found this online:
    FROM:  https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/fonts.html#previewing_fonts
    Photoshop Help / Fonts
Updated for Photoshop CC Version 2014
    Previewing fonts
You can view samples of a font in the font family and font style menus in the Character panel and other areas in the application from where you can choose fonts.
To turn off the preview feature or change the point size of font names, do one of the following:
(CC, CS6) Choose Type > Font Preview Size, and choose an option.
The problem:  on my Desktop version of Photoshop CC, there is no Preference option as stated above.
I prefer seeing the menu scroll and to point and click, rather than having to use the up and down arrows to move through the font list sequentially.
    How can I fix this?
    Thank you.

    Ah! Good question.
I had assumed I had the same version on each computer because I always keep both up-to-date.
Also, with the new CC, I no longer knew where to find the version number. Now I know :-)
    Here's what I have:
    DESKTOP:
    Adobe Photoshop Version: 14.2.1 (14.2.1 20140207.r.570 2014/02/07:23:00:00) x64
    Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
    LAPTOP:
    Adobe Photoshop Version: 2014.1.0 20140730.r.148 2014/07/30:23:59:59  x64
    Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
I am going to guess that is what makes the difference.
Even if so, I prefer being able to see the font menu list, rather than using the up/down arrows.
    Looking forward to your feedback/response.
    Thanks!

  • Preview size & quality settings

Although I have been using LR for many months I am still confused as to what to set my import settings to when it comes to previews. Standard or 1:1? What quality settings? Can anyone enlighten me on best practices?

    >... my import settings to when it comes to previews. Standard or 1:1?
Standard Size previews are of your choosing: 1024, 1440, 1680 and 2048. You set these in the catalog settings "File Handling" tab. Also, you can set the quality to Low, Medium or High. You could also think of the Standard Size as that which most closely matches you screen size.
1:1 Previews are previews that match the dimensions of the image and are generally much larger than the Standard Size previews. e.g. from a 10MP Nikon D200 the size is 3872*2592.
The implications of your choices are as follows:
    - The larger the preview size that you choose, the slower the import
    - Larger previews take more disc space in your .lrdata folder, specifically the thumbnail-cache file.
If you are going to import a large number of photos, that you may later cull prior to doing any develop work, then you could choose Standard Size previews, with a low (1440) pixel size, Medium Quality. Import should then be fast. After you have eliminated photos that you do not wish to keep, you could use the Library ->Previews -> Render 1:1 Preview, if you wish to generate full-size previews of the selected pictures. Again, this may take a significant amount of time, depending on how many photos you select.
When you go to Develop module, Lightroom will automatically generate a 1:1 preview of the selected photo. So if you are not concerned about a slight delay while Lighroom generates 1:1 preview in Develop module, you could stay with Standard Size previews for import.

  • Why doesn't the PS CC font preview show font families any more? Now i have to scroll through 4,400 fonts every time!

You mean font previews themselves in the list? You can set the size and disable via Type > Font Preview Size.

  • I need to input text from PC to iPad with large font size. Too much to ask?

Works well with PC to PC using just software likge Windows Live Messenger, but not with iPad because I haven't seen a Messenger app for iPad that can display large fonts or has custom font size option. They all use small font size that can't be changed.
I've also tried many VNC apps by writing the text in my PC to notepad and using the VNC to display the large text for iPad. Probelm is VNC's wont work well with 3G.
Is this really too much to ask from iPad?
If some app developer reads this, I'll buy an app for 50$ that has white background and can receive text sent from PC with custom font sizes. Doesn't have to have any other features. Just receive text from PC using the existing IM softwares like Windows Live etc or simple custom software.

I was wondering if you could help me out with my current situation. It seems like it is similar to your previous I/O delima. I think I might have to parse the data, but i dont know how to do that yet. I basically have to put the information from one text file into a database, and it is formatted in one way, and i need to format it a different way that SQL statements can read. Here are 2 entries of about 12,000 that i have in one text file:
    1
    UI - 4
    TI - 117-28
    Y2 - -32676
    RP - NOT IN FILE
    SO - <None Specified> -1 ;():
    2
    UI - 11721
TI - The mechanism of genetic recombination in Escherichia coli.
    MH - mechanism
    MH - recombination
    MH - Escherichia coli
    RP - NOT IN FILE
SO - Cold Spring Harb Symp Quant Biol 1953 ;18():75-93
This is only 2 of the records, You notice that the record number is first, followed by another field ex. (UI), which then the data stored in that field are after the "-"

  • HOW DO I LOCK A LARGER FONT SIZE IN EMAIL

    Hi
Can anyone advise how I can lock in a larger Font Size when I am composing an email.
It comes up as normal size as standard and I can change size manualy but wondered if I can lock in a bigger size ?.
    Many thanks

Hi, I don't believe that you can. It always defaulst to Tahoma/Normal. Every time that you want to compose a reply you have to manually select the font and font size of your choice.
I've posted something along these same lines some time back and there was no positive answer provided and no response from BT to enable this to be a configurable setting.
BT supports response back to me with regards to problems with the new email service was that 'because it's a free service we are not obliged to fix any problems with it'.

  • My email screen got really large font and I cannot figure out how to get it back to normal. Has to be a Firefox thing because when I open it in Explorer it is normal size.

While typing on my email screen (Comcast), it just started magnifying and is now quite large font. I cannot figure out how to get it back to the normal size.

    Hi,
Please try pressing '''Ctrl''' + '''0''' (zero). This resets the zoom. Alternatively, '''View '''(Alt + '''V''') > '''Zoom''' > '''Reset'''.

  • C5 larger font size?

The contact names look very small on the C5 homescreen. Is there a way to increase the font/text size? Maybe to the size of the contact names on the Nokia 1661.
Better yet, is there a way to remove the contact photos and just have larger text?
    Thanks.

the above will not work you cant adjust this ,instead you could maybe you could use an image editor and have names instead of photos

  • Using extreme large font

    Hi all,
I'm working on a form which has a title with a very large font size. In the design view I have entered that it should be 120 large. Whenever I switch to PDF view, the font gets resized to a small value like 12. I f I select a value of 72 then in the deisgn view I can see the configured value.
Is there a limitation to the maximum size of the font I can use ? ( Helvetica Neue LT STD )

    Tx for reply.
Same thing happens in the end result PDF in Reader. The font size is adjusted in the form view, there I can indeed adjust to 999 but when I do that ( or in my case 120 ), the preview and now also the actual PDF show it as smal font.

  • Turn off font preview in PS CC 2014?

I'm attempting to troubleshoot performance issues with Photoshop and one thing I am seeing in Adobe's FAQs is that I should be able to turn off font previews in the preferences in the Type preference panel. However, I am not seeing that option. Has this been removed or moved elsewhere in PS CC 2014 or is it no longer considered a relevant performance tweak... or is something wrong with my install? Screenshot:
    My version of Photoshop is 2014.1.0 / 20140730.r.148 x64
Running on Mac OS X 10.9.4
    iMac 3.5GHz i7, 32GB RAM, 6TB RAID 0, 1TB startup SSD
PS. The issue I am actually troubleshooting (if anyone reading this has any insight) is that large doc sizes (~100MB) with many layers (both vector and type) have become largely unusable as minor edits such as resizing or moving a layer results in beachball for upwards of 20-30 seconds with the Console reporting that Photoshop has been "caught burning CPU!" (exclamation point is Apple's, not mine). Anyway, sounds naughty. Hardware tests have come up empty so I am revisiting my otherwise unchanged settings to see if I can fix the issues.
Thanks in advance for any advice or thoughts!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh... in the Type MENU, not the preferences... Thanks!

  • Text preview size in PS 2014?

    Hi,
Installed PS CC 2014. Now my text preview size is back down to small and I can't seem to figure out how to change it back to a larger preview size.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

Hi Rowen.  Have you seen this video tutorial for the new type features in CC 2014?  They actually suggest turning off font previews completely.  I'm not sure that I would be comfortable working that way, but Type is a whole new ballgame now.
