Larger thumbnails in onlinegallery?

Does anybody know how to create larger pictures in gallery templates of PSE 6?
Having tried several templates, but the thumbnails are too
small.
Examples here:

Thumbnails below

When creating an online gallery I can do several settings as "title", background, color etc.
And I can "Optimize for broadband (large pictures), normal
(normal pictures)". (I don't know the exact english words of these
functions).
And that's it?
I want to customize like that:
Thumbnails width: 100/150/200 Pixel
and even: main pictures 480x320/800x600 etc.
I cannot find this feature.
Thank you in advance for any hints!
Ciao, Thomas

Hi Thomas,
I looked in PSE 5, which I think is similar to your version. You are stuck
with four choices of thumbnail sizes. If you use the "Left Filmstrip (Large
Thumbnails)", that would be the largest size.
If you want to increase the size of the main image, which should best be
done when using the filmstrip on the left, you will have to do that
manually.
When the Gallery is created, you have a folder, named with the gallery
title. You will find subfolders underneath. Go to a folder that is named
something like this:
C:\Documents and
Settings\Owner\Desktop\TestGallery(2)\resources\media\04filmstrip_vert_lt\large
It contains the actual images. You will have to create those images in a
separate procedure at a larger size, possibly by going though "Process
Multiple Files", and then replace the smaller images with the larger ones.
The larger images have to have the exact same names as the ones you are
replacing.
Ich kann einiges zur Not auch noch uebersetzen, ich kenne nur die Ausdruecke
(zB Namen fuer Dateien) in der deutschen PSE Version nicht unbedingt.
Let me know if you need further details.

  • Larger thumbnail folder in vault than in library--Why?

I have aperture 3.4.1 and recently realized that I had accidentally imported several movies and a few photos as masters.  I relocated the masters so that the movies and photos are all now referenced, and not stored in the aperture library.  This caused the size of my aperture library to go down considerably.  However, when I updated my vault, it still is huge.  My aperture library is now about 39gb but the vault is about 55gb.  I made a new vault and it is about 35gb.  Looking at the contents of the vaults, I see the big difference is in the Thumbnails.  The size of the Thumbnails in the old vault is about 29gb, but it is only about 12gb in the new vault (which is about the size in the library).  I've tried updating the old vault a couple of times, but it doesn't get smaller.  Is there a reason aperture is keeping such a large thumbnail folder?  And is there any way to get aperture to update the old vault so that it more accurately reflects the library, or do I need to simply delete it and start over?
As a side question, why does aperture store thumbnails and previews in vaults?  Couldn't they be easily regenerated if I needed them?  Is there a way to tell aperture not to store the previews and thumbnails when it is making vaults?
    Thanks,
    Ric

Contained in the Library but not in the Vault:
1024px thumbnail of every Version (this is what you see in the Browser pane and in books, web gallery and light table Albums),
Preview files at whatever size and compression settings you've set up.
It's quite normal for the Vault to be smaller than the Library.

  • Larger thumbnail view in list view

Will it one day soon be possible when in list view in the bin, with thumbnails on, to have a larger thumbnail view.  I have a high rez Dell 30" monitor and even if I reduce the resolution to 1920 X 1080 the thumnails are minute.

    Hi YKFILMS,
You can make the thumbnails a little bigger with the slider at the bottom of the Project panel.

  • Larger thumbnail views?

Can I resize the thumbnails that appear in regular view to a size larger than that allowed by pulling the widget at the lower-right corner of the screen to the farthest right? Would Pref Setter do this? I thought I was getting larger thumbnails when I moved the slider, but then I had to trash my iPhoto preferences and when the fresh prefs loaded, thumbnails would no longer show as large as I'd prefer. (Also, if there is a technique for this, will it work in the iPhoto 08 upgrade? I've ordered it, but it won't arrive for another week or so.)
    Thanks for any help.

No, this is limited by the window size. At farthest right you're not seeing the thumbnail any more but instead you're seeing the actual file.
If you want to see the file bigger, open it in the edit or viewing windows.

Why did you need to do this and how did you go about it?

  • Large thumbnail previews in Finder?

Is there any way I can select LARGE thumbnail previews for images on my hard drives in the 'Finder' window? I.e. like in Windows Explorer; where you can actually see the image? I have 1000's of photos, & if I'm searching for a specific image I really need to be able to see the thumbnail clearly or it will take me hours to find the photo I'm looking for. At the moment they are tiny-weeny & I can't see anything at all of the image.Thanks.

I thought this had solved this problem, but unfortunately, this does not work when I'm trying to attach images to an e-mail. I open 'attachments' in Hotmail, & it brings up the Finder window, but of course the menu bar at the top is not the Finder menu - it's the Google Chrome/Firefox menu bar (or whatever browser I'm using). So there is no option to 'show status bar'. This is actually incredibly annoying, as when the thumbnails are tiny & I'm trying to selct from a large number of photos, it's very hard to see which ones I wanted to send. I end up having to write down all the image numbers first. This cannot surely be how a Mac is supposed to work in the 21st century?..!
I would be very grateful for any other ideas...

  • Extra Large Thumbnail Trick?

    Hello,
Just curious - has anyone discovered a way to view your bins in PPCS4 with extra large thumbnails? When I choose Icon and thumbnail size=large, they are still quite small. I work with hundreds of clips, and generally dedicate one entire monitor to the bin - i would love a way to have "supersized" thumbnails in the bin - any ideas?
    Thanks a million,
    Jonathan

And, depending on your hardware and drivers, you should be able to assign a hot-key to change the resolution on the fly from your vidcard's console.
    Good luck,

  • Can't open folders to show pictures as large thumbnails permanently.

Can't open folders to show pictures as large thumbnails permanently.

    Thanks for your reply.
I'm running Windows 7 on a PC, using Photoshop Elements 7
It used to be I could open a picture folder from Elements (File>Open) and instruct the files to show themselves as large or extra large icons (View>Large icons), I would then open one or more and edit them, go back to the original folder to open another and still see the files as large icons or whatever I'd chosen before.
I can no longer do that - as soon as I come back to the folder, all the files have reverted to List view. I then have to go back to the View options. On the other hand, if I open the same folders from Windows Explorer they all show as large icons, as I've chosen to view them, and they remain so for as often as I open the folder.
I bought a brand new copy of Elements 11 and installed on the same computer (after uninstalling El 7), believing that maybe my copy of Elements 7 was corrupt. But the same conditions obtained with El 11. I un-installed El 11 (didn't like it, too cluttered for me) and have re-installed 7.
I've picked up a couple of viruses along the way which I get rid of mostly by restoring the system to a previous state. I installed a trial version of Norton while El 7 was working properly and later uninstalled it, believing maybe it had something to do with the subsequent misbehavior of El 7.
I've noticed a couple of other quirks; after I click File>Open the window with my picture folders opens maximized, it used to be I could re-size it but not any more, even though the mouse pointer turns into double arrows along the edges and corners. Also, when I clicked on Save the pointer immediately defaulted to the Save box, but not so any more.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Larger thumbnails in Brushes, Symbols, etc.

The thumbs in the Brushes Panel and the Symbols Panel are still tiny.
How are we supposed to see what we're picking?
I wish we could make them larger as we can with Color Swatches.

If you click on the brush definition and then double click on the brush you will get a larger view. I know it's not what you want but at least you can see a larger preview.

  • Larger Thumbnail Page in Web?

Excuse me if this has come up before, but my search so far didn't get me an answer. Is it possible in the HTML Web Galleries to put more thumbnails on a home page than the graphic in the Web Design section allows?
Also, is there any chance I can use my Bridge web templates in Lightroom?
    Thanks, MB

  • Larger image changed, but smaller thumbnails still show old image

    Hi,
I want to change the image for my podcast. I added the new image to my server and added an image tag to my rss file pointing to it. Now in the iTunes store, the larger thumbnail shows the correct image, but the smaller thumbnails in the store show the old one. Do I just need to wait longer, or is there something else I have to do?
    Feed = http://feeds.feedburner.com/walkingdeadcast
    Thanks!
    Jason

For some reason the thumbnails in the Search results take longer to update than the image on the Store page. They're both drawn from the same tag in your feed, so there's nothing you can do except wait: it will probably sort itself out in a day or two.
Edit: actually I just searched on your podcast title and the search results showed the same image as the main Store page.
Another edit: I assume you are talking about the Search results, not what you see when you subscribe? Those images are embedded in the media files, not referenced in the feed. I just downloaded one of the episodes on subscription and I see it has a different image. In order to change this you will have to embed new images in every episode and re-upload them - see here.

  • How can I access the thumbnail/preview image of a PSD file?

Hey guys I'm trying to salvage some work from a corrupted PSD file via the thumbnail. What happened was I saved my work and closed photoshop and hit the reset button on my PC afterwards by mistake (i dont see why this caused a problem because the program was fully closed at the time). When I open the file now it says it uses an unsupported blending mode, if i press ok I get an error saying incompatible PS version, if I press flatten it says unexpected end of file was encountered. Ive tried PSD repair tools and searched the net for solutions and there doesnt seem to be any - Ive pretty much given up on trying to repair the original file.
The thing is, the thumbnail of the file seems to be intact because I can still see it as the file icon. I wanted to know if there was any way i can access this thumbnail image so i can enlarge it. Any help would be very appreciated!!

I have an idea to try...  Earlier I mentioned the Windows Picture Viewer...  Normally that won't read PSD files, but I'm used to using that to look into PSD files because at one point I bought the FastPictureViewer Codec Pack.
Something to try, and it won't cost anything:
    1.  Try downloading and installing the FastPictureViewer Codec Pack from here:  http://www.fastpictureviewer.com/codecs/
    2.  Once it's installed you get a free trial period, so you can try opening your PSD file by right-clicking on it and choosing Preview.
If that fails, here's another thing to try:
Open the Bridge component of Photoshop and navigate to the folder in which you have the file.  It may be able to make a larger thumbnail than the one you're seeing.
Other than that, are you saying you're seeing the thumbnail in Windows Explorer?  If that's the case, what happens if you right-click in the white space near the file and choose View - Extra Large Icons?

  • Thumbnail Images Too Small

I'm having a very big problem with my new iMac. The problem is the size of the thumbnails when opening a photo from an external program or uploading to a website. This is not a problem when browsing photos with the Finder. In the Finder, I see the little slider in the bottom right hand corner that makes it so you can enlarge. It is only the window that opens when you choose "open" from a program like Photoshop or by choosing "select photos" from a website like Facebook. The window that appears with the thumbnails of your pictures does not have the same slider that is present in the Finder to make the photos larger. I have tried changing the view to Cover Flow and at that point I can make my thumbnails about as big as I want, BUT, then I cannot view additional photos upon multiple selecting them.
Is there anything that can be done about this at all. I use the larger thumbnails for nearly everything I do on my computer and it is almost grounds for divorce for me and my new iMac...I still love my iMac and don't want our relationship to end over this...hehehe...

I don't know a way to increase that thumbnail size, but you can hit the space-bar while highlighting a thumbnail to see the image large-size (and then space again to zoom back out). While zoomed in, you can use the arrow keys to navigate around the file list. This works slightly differently when looking at images in Finder folders vs. images in your Media (Photo) library - in the former, a real "Quick Look" window appears in front of the file browser; in the latter, the image expands to fill the file browsing window.

  • I have 9 tabs, but when I try to make a tab group, only the current page shows up as a thumbnail, not all the tabs. I can't get them to work for me. All the tabs are listed on the right side of the tab groups box. What am I doing wrong?

There's no thumbnails to drag around except one on the left side of the page (the one that's open). The right side of the page lists every tab I have created.

Perhaps your problem is that '''you must save your browsing history''' in order to use app-tabs that would apply to groups as well but I did not test.
    * http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/4928/clearcachew.png
I would suggest that if you do not save that stuff in bookmarks, that you will probably have a serious problem soon and lose your tabs, so if you count on them you could lose them. They should stand up to repeated restarts but I would not count of them as app-tabs myself, for one thing it is new, the other is I have to frequently wipe them out and restart, because I actively open new content into them and go back to the beginning of the tab history, and sometimes I can't, and sometimes I lose them by accidentally closing them -- and I must be able to close them in all manners that I close other tabs or I wouldn't be using them.
There are people who keep 200 tabs open through restarting, that is not for me, I try to clear out the tabs frequently.
That is what app-tabs are for as opposed to home pages, but I did have a problem when I tested with 120 since as app-tabs only about 65 can be seen at once even though I did reduce the width of app-tabs to about 2/3 the size that they were.. Problem I had when I restarted was that the window enlarged a bit beyond the screen, and my tab counter disappeared until I reduced the count to about 65. I do not allow tabs to scroll so you probably wouldn't have that problem.
I forgot to test home page with 60 tabs. I do have something set to 75 though have to check that. I tested with 60 pages as home page. Brought firefox down and backup with the 1 app-tab and 60 home pages the app-tab is the same size as the 60 normal tabs from home page.
Never used group-tabs by choice, since they messed me up I stay clear of them, I don't like them or anything large panoramic type of large thumbnails.

  • Thumbnails wrong in Finder -- is there a way to refresh them?

When I edit a photo in Preview the small thumbnail changes to a generic jpg icon (in list and column view,) and the larger thumbnail (in icon view) remains that of the photo before it was edited. I can't figure out any way to refresh the thumbnail directly. I've found a workaround is to import it into iPhoto then immediately export it; now the thumbnail appears correctly, but the teeny tiny thumbnail is still the generic jpg icon. This is making me crazy. There must be a way to refresh the icons?

    Just a suggestion: try this.
    Others may diss it.
Try it anyway. It isn't a hack. If you like it, you'll no longer need to worry about the length of file names.

  • I have blurry artwork in Album View thumbnails.  Deleting the cache makes all the artwork sharp, but once iTunes is restarted, the artwork goes back to being fuzzy unless i delete cache again.

I have blurry artwork in Album View thumbnails, but not in Grid View/Cover Flow.  Deleting the cache and forcing it to rebuild makes all the artwork sharp, but once iTunes is restarted, the artwork goes back to being fuzzy unless i delete cache again.

    Responding to your request here.
I can't say it's a problem I've noticed personally, though now you've made me look it does seem that the large thumbnail is slightly fuzzier than the same image in the artwork panel. I have the artwork panel as small as it goes (small screen) and it is still slightly larger than the image in the browser so that might be all there is to it.
Here's an example from my screen.
Perhaps iTunes is storing a thumbnail at say "medium" size which it then blows up to create the large image. Are you seeing a similar effect or is your "fuzzy" art much fuzzier? A screenshot would be helpful.
