Largest Media Card Capacity for BB Curve 8330

I have read the largest supported capacity for the BB curve 8330 is 8 GB but I was wondering if anyone had tried any larger capacities memory cards with any success or failure. I would love to put all my music on my phone, but 8 GB is not going to hold it all. I have A LOT of music. I would need at least 16 GB to get by with to be able to have room for all my music, pictures and videos. But before I run out and spend a bunch of money on a larger card I wanted to know if anyone else had tried it.

Where are you? In the US, any Verizon, ATT, Sprint or Tmobile store would have that blue CS2 battery. It also fits the 8300, 8310, 8320 and the 8700 if I recall correctly.

  • Calendars for Blackberry Curve 8330......

Ohhh please help me!!!! I just bought the Verizon Blackberry Curve 8330. I a coming from a Palm Treo 700P. I love the Curve but I do not want to have to use outlook. Anyone who used Palm knows you could have multiple calendars and on both the Pam and Computer. I have all my dads medical, appointments, my cancer appointments and both of our lives on my Palm. When Verizon Synchronized it only the phone #'s came through and nothing for the calendar. I am now having to carry my palm treo for the personal information, drug histories, appointments, etc. Does anyone know of a program with the Calendar for both the desktop and the blackberry that I can download that will synch to each other or have any other ideas on what I can do? I would so appreciate it. Thank you so very much for any help.

  • Compatible Headsets for BB Curve 8330

Anyone know where I can find out what headsets are compatible with the Curve 8330?  I'm really liking the BlueAnt V9i but I want to make sure it will work. Anyone know?

Thanks Jeremy & Sugrat for the reassurance that most headsets will work with my Curve!
I have to apologize for my model number goof, it was the Z9i that I was looking at. I had originally gone to Plantronics mfg. website to check on the Voyager 520, but their interactive product finder said it wasn't compatible & were only suggesting their products as alternatives. When I couldn't find anything on BlueAnt's website that said it was compatible with this specific model (it just said BlackBerry), I thought maybe they were proprietary (& hoping not!).
So as long as the headset is compatible with BT2.0, then I should be ok, correct?

  • Best media card reader for iphoto?

What is the best mediat card reader for a Macbook (unibody white) with USB connection.

I don't know if it's best but I bought a Targus High Speed SD/SDHC/MMC reader from WalMart. It's small, great for traveling, and plugs into a USB port.  Works very well.  About $10 as I recall.

So what happens when you click on that icon?
Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan enabled on your account with your carrier or mobile provider?
You must, in order to get the RIM push email functions you are looking for, as well as addtional BlackBerry data services such as the internet browser, Facebook for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger, and much more.
So, call your carrier and inquire about having the BlackBerry Data Plan added to your account.
    Good luck.

  • Media Card Issue *maybe*

I have a 2GB media card in my bberry curve 8330 and when I'm trying to save some pictures to it it's showing "Directory Full" but when I look at my avail free space it's showing 1.1GB Free.  I'm stumped as I can't figure out how to save when it's showing no avail space.

    Hi,
I also wanted to know what folders I should see on my phone when I go into Media, Explore, Media Card ?  From some of the threads I've been reading they mention that you should see blackberry, documents, music etc right under Media Card but mine is laid out as below
What's on my phone currently is :
    Media Card
    Folder Blackberry
    inside Blackberry Folder is
subfolders documents, music, pictures, ringtones, videos & voicenotes
I've always saved all my pictures, videos etc to folder Media Card only not any subfolders...could that be the reason I got the msg "Directory Full" ?
Tonight I'm going to try uploading all of my stuff onto my home computer, doing a memory card format and then redownloading all of my info into the approp folders on the media card.

  • Curve 8310 Media Card

A very basic question from a very green newbie: What is the largest Media Card my 8310 will accomodate? (v4.5.0.110)
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Depending on what OS your BlackBerry is tells you what size microSD card you can buy. You can check under Options | About (will be listed as v4.xx.xxx). Look at the chart at the following link to see what size you can obtain - http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB05461
According to your numbers you can buy to to a 16GB card.

  • Memory on Curve 8330?

General question...what is the hard drive capacity of the Curve 8330?  I can't find the spec anywhere, wondering how much data it can hold.  Appreciate any info you can share!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    hello,
there is no hard drive on modern smartphones. It's a Flash drive.
On the Curve 8330, the internal memory is written on the specification page for the Curve series : 96MB
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/devices/blackberrycurve8300/curve_specifications.jsp?navId=H0,C221,S2
the internal memory, also known as the device memory. It has these usages :
bear the OS (can occupy up to 40MB)
regular RAM for things to work
bear all the applications and their datas
    store media files (bad idea)
on top of that, you have the "media card" : a slot for a microSD / microSDHC card. You can put a card as big as you want, but depending on the version of your OS, your device will see only part of it. There is an article on the public knowledge database about the limits. For a 4.2.2 the limit is 4GB. For a 4.5 it's much much more.

  • Can't open picture attachments on BlackBerry Curve 8330

I just traded my Pearl 8130 for the Curve 8330 yesterday.  While I think I made the right decision, I'm a little annoyed by the fact that for the most part, I can't open email attachments.  Keep in mind, this is when I actually use the Internet Browser to access my various accounts.  In other words, I'm actually going to www.gmail.com and www.hotmail.com.  When I get into my Hotmail, it'll show the paper clip signifying an attachment but won't give me any sort of option to open it.  It just lists the file name(s) and that's it.  When I go into my gmail, if I've got an email that only contains one or two pictures it'll usually open those.  But any more than that and it's the same deal with Hotmail, except that it'll actually have the "6 Attachments" link that I can actually click, but when I do it just lists the file names in regular type and there's no option whatsoever to open them.  It doesn't open any kind of thumbnail either.
It's kind of a bummer to me because I have a lot of saved pictures in my email accounts that I'd like to save on my phone as well.  If all BlackBerrys are like that, I'll just deal with it and shut up.  When I get email attachments in the accounts I've set up to go directly to my BlackBerry I can always open them, so maybe this is just normal for BlackBerrys.  But if mine is actually having a problem I'd really like to get it fixed.  If that's the case, does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do?  I already resent Service Books and took the battery out and put it back in.  That's all I've tried so far.  If all else fails I can just take it in to Alltel to have it looked at but it'd be nice to avoid having to do that.    I know there are other ways to go about this... I can always just manually move them to my phone's memory card from the computer and stuff.  Getting them directly from my email would just be a little quicker.
    Thanks, everyone!

Blackberry browser isnt exactly the same as a browser on your PC. It has limitations, such as sizes. when you added the email to your BIS account its now mail on your device which is the primary function of a blackberry. when using BIS or BES emails, they are designed to truncate if too big, but if you wish to look at more it gives you that option. www.hotmail.com is not designed to accomodate blackberry. Your best option is to stay to the BIS email option.
Not to mention it uses less of your data bandwidth to use BIS email rather than browsing to www.hotmail.com

  • Do media cards suck the life out of your battery?

I just inserted a media card to my bb curve last night, and my battery was dead this morning when I woke up (it was next to fully charged last night). Anyone know if the media card sucks battery life? I'm pretty sure all the applications were closed. And, I don't think the phone shut down when scheduled either, so I'm wondering if something is running in the background now. Any advice would be appreciated.

No, a media card won't do that, in itself.
However--inserting a media card does cause the device to scan, index and create cache files, and thumbnails of the files and images on a media card, still not enough to drain a battery.
It is very likely only coincidental, and you probably did have something running in the background like an open active browser page or application.
