Laser colours don't match screen colours on 2605dn

I have a LaserJet 2605dn. I recently replaced all 3 colour toner cartridges (with the exception of the black). When I printed a photo from PS CS3 the colours-especially the skin tones were off.
Before I replaced the cartridges the colour printing was fine.
What has changed the output of the 2605dn since I replaced the cartridges?

  • Printer colour does not match screen colour in Adobe 9, but does with Adobe 7

I have just upgraded to Adobe Acrobat Professional 9.  My colour documents look
different when printed from 9 than when they do printed from 7 even when the same document is printed on the same printer from the same computer.  What settings do I need to change in 9 so that the documents print out the same?  For example, in one document I have dark blue sky which is fine in 7, but prints out as deep purple sky in 9.  On screen it is dark blue when viewed in both 9 and 7.  All help greatly appreciated.  Thanks

The same document prints our perfectly from Adobe 9 on another colour printer so the problem is obviously between Adobe 9 and the original printer.  The original printer is due to be replaced shortly so we will not try to resolve this issue.  Thanks for your help.

  • Colours Don't match up, ghost image

I have a 1515n printer, with less than a 1000 prints,.. just coming up for it's first black cartridge.
Unfortunatley, it has developed an image qaulity fault where the cyn and magenta images do not match up, and get laid down on the paper in different places. So hence a ghosting effect on the final print.
I have searched the web and forums,.. for info but searching for registration and other keys words does not help.
Does anyone know how to fix colour image registration issues on a 1515 type printer.
    Many thanks

  • Colours don't match in photoshop

    Hi,
Brand new to Kuler and really like it, EXCEPT...
I found a theme I really liked, downloaded the .ase file, and
used it to build a set of colour squares for reference. That's when
I realised the colours I had didn't match what I'd seen in my
browser. It didn't take too long to work out that this is not at
all surprising because Firefox isn't a colour managed browser.
By assigning different ICC profiles to my to my AdobeRGB
'swatch' file, I can make them match much more closely the colours
as shown in Firefox but this is far too hit and miss for my liking.
So my question to fellow colour luvers is: "Do the rest of
you only use Kuler to create themes for use on the Web and other
non-colour managed places?" If not: "Do you feel like you're just
working in the dark and not having the faintest idea what colours
    you're actually creating?"
One answer here would be to use Opera but I tried that and it
just crashes on my Windows XP machine. Is there something I'm
    missing here?
For information, my monitor and printers are all as well
calibrated as I can get them... and that's pretty good as it
    happens.
I'd be interested in your comments.
    Roger.

  • Prints don't match screen

I have an HP Photosmart C3180 All-in-one printer and I am having trouble getting my printouts looking like what I see on my screen. At the moment I am trying to print a Comic Life comic but the problem is not limited to any one app. When I print the document, it looks slightly washed out and some of the colors are rather off.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

First, its impossible to get prints to match a native screen because the screen is RGB and printer CYMK and the gamuts are not an exact match and reflected prints have less contrast than a glowing screen. What the process of color management does is translate the the colors in the RGB document into the nearest equivalent the printer can print. Applications like Photoshop include a soft proofing function which allows a printer profile to be applied to the screen image to simulate, to the extent possible on screen how the print will differ from the screen. There is an "out of gamut" warning to show which colors in the screen image exceed the color gamut the printer can produce. Critical editing should be done in soft proofing mode and on the basis of what you see in test prints.
When you let the printer manage color it takes the image working space you selected in Photoshop and converts the color values to the closest the printer can reproduce most of the colors C+M ink can't reproduce the rich saturated colors R+B on screen can so you'll always see shifts in saturated blues and purples. The matching of file to print is controlled by the ink / paper profile you select in the print dialog. That tells the printer driver what profile to apply when doing the translations.
When you tell Photoshop or another application to manage colors the printer must be told not to manage color. If you don't do that the translation gets done twice, first by Photoshop then a second time by the printer. That's what is happening if you select Photoshop manages color and a ink/paper profile. If you select "photoshop manages color" and your working space profile (e.g., sRGB) it works because the printer is getting the same thing it would when it manages color.
Leopard changed most of the printer drivers. The change isn't apparent because most of the drivers where built-into both Tiger and Leopard. But what I discovered is that the new Leopard driver eliminated my ability to turn off the printer driver for my HP9760 when printing from CD3 and other applications. I can still print OK using by letting the printer manage color, but it would prevent the use of any custom profiles created for non-HP papers.

  • How do I get my printer to match the colours of the image as I see it on screen?

How do I get my printer to match the colours of the image as I see it on screen? My HP Office Jet Pro L7680 printer tends to print my images with a bias towards red compared to the image I am seeing on screen with Lightroom 5 using a Mac with Retina 5 screen. Would appreciate any expertise on how to calibrate the printer to the screen

You have two options. The first method costs nothing but is not as accurate and the second means buying hardware and investing some time. The fastest way to get things closer is to download the color profile from the printer manufactures site for the printer and paper combination you are using. Install it on you Mac and relaunch LR. This is best when the paper and printer are both from the same company; in your case, HP. If the paper is not made by HP, you can often find profiles for your paper/printer by going to the paper maker's web site and doing a search for the appropriate profile.
The other alternative is to purchase a piece of hardware such as the ColorMonki which can be used to not only profile your monitor for color balance but also you printer/paper as well as your camera. When all of your devices agree on what color 118,118,118 means, you get the same color from capture to print but this is also an expensive option and there is a lot of time involved in building your own color profiles. The results however, are much more accurate.
Once you have a color profile installed, the next step involves doing soft proofing. Once you have your image looking the way you want it to in LR, open it in the soft proof option. This will show you how your print will look using the color profile for the paper/printer you are using. During the process, you will be shown the print on your screen which may look off. Use the small triangle in the upper-right corner of the histogram to turn on the out-of-gamut warning. This will highlight any parts of your image which contain colors your printer can't handle. Use the rendering intent options to decide how you want these colors handled (relative or perceptual). Check them both and use the one you like best. You can also make additional changes at this point if required before you generate the JPG image. Make sure to save it as a max quality JPG using the sRGP profile. Once saved, you can send this image to your printer or even to a lab as the process is the same. The attached link should get you to a video showing how to use the ColorMunki hardware/software but, more importantly, shows you how to prepare an image for printing (in this case, for a lab) using soft proofing with the color profile created (or downloaded).--Great Color from Your Lab Prints – Every Time! on Vimeo

    Hi there @MajorKh
I understand that you are getting full screen colour distortion, and lines on the display of your notebook.
From how you describe the display it sounds like a hardware problem. Please see the following, just to verify as there is a section that matches what you describe.

  • IMac screen colour, how to show tints and shades that won't appear

iMac screen colour, how do I show tints and shades that won't appear on screen
I have a 2 month old imac, with a great screen. But for some reason I cant  se light shades of colour like 5% of a tint.
yet on older macs, and a 2 year old imac, i can see them prefectly.
Some designs have light panels with 5% colours, some a precent of a colour.
Can anyone suggest a way to calibrate the screen, or set the screen to show all the colours n tints used as accuratley as possible.
    Advice much appreciated

The fdisk output shows that it is a single GPT disk. Has any disk manipulation been done, like resizing or repartitioning.
Your GPT looks correct. If you create a Hybrid MBR via gdisk and include partitions 2,3 and 4 and make 4 bootable, does Windows partition show up in Startup and as a separate volume in Finder?

  • Colour Profiles not matching in CS3

Hello! Someone sent me an image containing the colour indigo 050e1a by email. I opened it in CS3, but the colour sampling tool identified the colour as 060c1c. The same occurred with different colours, different images. (Another example: burgundy 490715 changes to 4c0812.) How can this happen? The person who sent me the images has created and worked on them in CS3 as well. How come our colour profiles are not matching and is there anything I could do? Many thanks!

In what file format did your colleague send you the image ?
Try exchanging the image as a compressed tif file and see if the results are the same.

  • Matching Image Colours with Site Colours

    Hi
I would like to match the colour of an image to the site corporate colours.  If you see this logo - http://www.portfoliohealth.co.uk/ - you can see that the pastel green colour (#CDE8D9) on the far left of the the graduated image is different to the main colour in the 'p' logo opn the right.
Any idea on mathing these exactly (or as near as)?
    Many thanks

Have you tried the Eye Dropper tool over the area?
It kind of difficult to determine which green is the color your looking for since there appears to be an oval in the middle.
Another idea to help pinpoint a color is to draw a Export Area JUST around the 'green' rounded logo. Double click it once drawn and it will take you to the Export dialog. Chnage the output to Gif /256 colors and you can see the exact green color variants in that area. To the right of the Gif, there's a Options icon, click that and from the list choose Sort by Luminance. You can then get a better idea of the darkest to lightest greens. Mouseover/click anyone of them and the rgb/hex shows up. Copy down the ones you need.
You can also choose Save > Save Palette (.act) from the Same Option context list, and load it directly into the Window > Swatches > Panel Options (Add Swatches (.act) command). This way you can interact with the Swatches Panel and you recreated logo.

  • Not used my G5 Powermac (late 2004) for ages. Only boots in with Installation disk, but colour dots on white screen and message comes up to reboot machine. Nothing happens.

Not used my G5 Powermac (late 2004) for  about 2 years. Was going to set it up for the lads to do school work.
However it only boots in with Installation disk, but colour dots on white screen and message comes up to reboot machine. However nothing happens apart from me keep trying. Also the numerous fans get louder and louder and louder.....
    Any ideas folks

Can you please provide details on the exact model?
For a start, the PRAM battery is likely dead.  PRAM tells the computer which drive to start with, other basic information.  Still, you can usually get the computer to start, though bad PRAM is unpredictable and could be stopping that.
Some computer models use software to control cooling fans.  If there's no software commands they automatically go into high speed to prevent overheating.  Your software obviously isn't loading, so runaway fans.

  • Hey guys, I'm having trouble matching the colour of the image back ground (white) with the pre-set colour selection. is there a tool that can help me? thanks

hey guys, I'm having trouble matching the colour of the image back ground (white) with the pre-set colour selection. is there a tool that can help me? thanks

Your description of the problem is not quite clear so I made certain assumptions. I hope I am rigtht. I believe you have a color patch such as this:
that you would like to place in an image area that has modeling in its white background. You do not want to lay in a flat color but rather to add a color and not lose the modeling or other background tone. The problem is, after making the selection, if you use Edit > Fill and set the Blending mode to Color, the white background remains white. The only colored background area may be an object's shadow or some similar area that is not pure white. (Image 2) It is an unsatisfactory result.
If that is an accurate description of the problem, consider this:
    Image 1: The original image
Image 2: Edit > Fill with the Blending mode set to Color. White remains white
Image 3: Mode changed to Lab Color. Edit > Fill with the Blending Mode set to Color. Then return to RGB.
(I would not normally use this green as a replacement color but since it is a Tiffany clock, I chose a light version of Tiffany's trademark color.)

Can I change the screen colour and font size?

    Yes. Use an iPhone browser, such as iExplorer, to access your iPhone's file system. The screensaver photos are stored here;
    /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/AppleTV.framework/DefaultAnimalPhotos
    /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/AppleTV.framework/DefaultFlowerPhotos
Once you locate these files, you can replace the photos with your own or add more to the folders. Do not change the name of the the folder.
