Laser Jet 4M plus with Windows &?

So will this work? I seem to have downloaded a drive for the 4M+ for Windows 7, but have questions about whether it will really work or not??? Where do I get a cable that is USB to parallel or whatever that is that goes into the printer? I got a new laptop and never thought about whether this old soldier that still works great after 16 years would work with it or not. Any help greatly appreciated.

Laser Jet 2100 PCL with Windows 7 (x64)

I recently retired my old XP machine for a new one running 64 bit Windows 7. My old Laser Jet 2100 PCL6 always worked fine on XP but I can't get anything to print on the new machine. When I plugged it into the Win 7 box it installed in a minute or so and said everything was ready. When I sent a test page to it it showed printing but nothing happened. The printer status shows printer ready but nothing happens.
I'm using a Cables to Go adapter cable from the parallel port on the printer to a USB port, same as I did on the XP box. Do I need a newer cable? Is there any way to make my old workhorse 2100 print from the Win 7 box?

How to install a HP Laser Jet 4 Plus

I have successfully installed my HP PhotoSmart 7520 but I have a workhorse printer that I would like hooked up to my new HP Notebook also......it is a Newlett Packard Laser Jet 4 Plus. It is not listed as a choice and I would really like to use it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Any of the laserjet models that have a front panel (touchscreen) and the option to print a Supplies Status page can provide this information. The Supplies Status page shows how many pages each of the current toner bins have printed since installation.
Make sure to check that the printer has a Supplies Status page in the Reports submenu of the Setup menu. Hope this helps.
example: the Laserjet Pro 200 M276nw has this feature.

Need Driver For Hp Laser Jet 5L/6L for Window Xp, 7

i have hp laser jet 5L and 6L pinrter and has xp and window 7 os. i have searched for drivers on google and found many but none of them working for me. the porblem is when is send pirnt command to printer. the status is printing for 4,5 minutes then it prompts an error that "failed to print".
Please guide me to the official drivers for hp laser jet 5L and 6L.

Installing HP Laser Jet 5 driver for Windows 7 64-bit or 32-bit

I had an issue with installing an HP LaserJet 5 printer to a WIndows 7 64-bit box. I thought I would post my experience and solution to this problem so that others can quickly resolve similar issues.
If you connect as I did with a Parallel Printer-to-USB cable, then Win-7 searches for drivers automatically. But none werre found. However, using "Add Printer" via Control Panel/View Devices and Printers/Printers and Faxes, then left click starts the process for finding and installing the HP driver needed.
No need as others have suggested to go to HP Support Center to install their Universal Printing PCL 5 driver found here:
www1.hp.com/...Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL5/

Hi,
Your printer is Airprint Compatible with the latest firmware.
Make sure your iPhone / iPad have iOS version 4.2 and above to support Airprint.
Upgrade the printer firmware from your PC by using the tool below, by using the tool for your OS:
Windows / Mac OS
Then you will be able to print from the iOS built in Print function as long they are connected to the same network as your printer,

Using HP Laserjet 4m plus with Windows 8.1

My pc is a HP p6-2376pc w/Windows 8.1, my Printer is HP laserjet 4m plus using TCP/IP and ethernet conection.
Using both manual and auto set-up my printer will not print from pc.
Will print test page manually. Will cancel pages in queue from pc.
Manual test page shows Printer IP Address is Port 10.2.144.123
PC shows IP Address is Port 192.168.1.47
I have tried unsucessfully to configure the two.
I keep getting back error code # 0x803C010B
Is there a patch or anyway to correct the issue?

How did you install the 4m plus driver? We recommend that you use the Windows Update driver via a network connection. For your convience, here are some instructions showing how to use/load the drivers. Have you tried loading the drivers this way and seeing if this resolves your issue?

Is there a driver for a HP Laserjet 5 printer for Windows 7 operating system

Just tried 5L, same error. I've also tried HPs universal print driver, and various other similar models, all with the same error. But I read that Windows 7 is simply not supporting those older printers anymore. So what's a guy to do?

You may have success with a USB-Parallel converter. I have heard good results with the Belkin model. Make sure the unit you buy is supported in Windows 7.
The Laserjet 5P has drivers available through Windows Update.

Don't know if you ever figured this out but here is the answer...
I just spent the last two days on this and have finally sorted it out. It actually isn't that hard to do but for some reason, no one has consolidated the information in one place!
First and foremost, make sure that you have all the latest and greatest firmware updates for your printer, your computer and your mobile devices.
Next, you need to connect your printer to your network via an ethernet cable, this is the only way to get in to the printer softare to configure it for your wireless network.
Navigate the printer menus on the keypad to Reports>Config Report and print this report. It will provide you with the IP adress and IPv4 address for the printer.
With the printer connected to your network and powered on, point your browser to the IP address of the printer. If this doen't work (it didn't for me) use the IPv4 address.
This will open the configuration panel for the printer and will let you configure the wireless for the printer so that it can join your wireless network. You will see various tabs across the top. Select network. Then along the left you will see wireless. Choose that. Now you should see a list of wireless networks available including your very own home network. Choose that one, enter your password and hit apply.
Disconnect the ethernet cable and you should be ready to Airprint from all devices. This worked for me, I can't imagine it won't work for all...then again...

I understand that you are having a problem with installing a Windows XP 32-bit printer driver. I will try my best to help you resolve this issue. If you have an older version of this print driver or other older LaserJet print drivers installed, then this could be causing an issue.
Use the HP Officejet Pro Software and Driver Removal Utility and do a level 3 uninstall to remove all the printer software and drivers.
