LaserJet 1022 - printing rubs off!

We recently sent a direct mail marketing piece, and when one item was returned, we noticed that the print had largely rubbed off both the letterhead and envelope.  We use a standard stationary (NEENAH Bond - 25% cotton).  What are your thoughts?  Thanks in advance.

Printer: LaserJet 1022
Connection: USB connected to an Airport Express N (latest firmware, etc)
Driver Version: 1.1.0.182
Apps: All
Problem Description: Can sometimes print a single page but then all status lights flash on printer and I have to turn the printer off - other times, nothing happens (printer pauses and will not resume). Have tried connecting via Bonjour and IP address but same problem occurs.

  • Cannot install driver for HP Laserjet 1022 Printer.

I am running Windows 7 64 bit.  When I attempt to install the driver for the HP Laserjet 1022 Printer, although the software recognized that the printer existed (ergo must be plugged into the computer), I keep getting the message that installation is being held up until I connect the printer to the computer.  Any suggestions?
    Thank you

    Hi mtnkeena2,
Use a different USB cable to see if the computer can then see the printer.

  • Hp laserjet 1022 printing problems

    Hi,
I use at my office a HP laserjet 1022 printer. Is used in a wireless router.
I have a problem with printing:
When i print a document from Google Docs, after the document was printed, the printer comes offline and all 3 leds start to flash. This flashing repairs only if i restart the printer.
When i print from my mac, all works good, other sites also works. The problem is, i use google docs for my work, so i cant exclude this.
I use a MPB mid 2012 with OS X Mountain Lion installed.
    Anybody can help me?

  • HP LaserJet 1022 Printing Problems - Please Post Here

Sorry, I hate to create a new thread, but tracking so many different threads on this one issue is becoming problematic for me. So with that being said, if you are still having a problem with printing to a LaserJet 1022 after the full uninstall I detailed in the FAQ thread followed by installing version 2.2 of the HP driver package, then let me know here. And specifically I want to know is which device you have, how your device is connected, the print driver version, and what apps are giving you problems. In my own personal testing, here is what I have found:
USB direct connect - OK, I have yet to run into a problem here.
USB connected to an Airport Extreme N - OK, I have yet to run into a problem here.
USB connected to an Airport Express G - Paused problem. I got print job/page out and then the printer paused and would not resume. I don't have a functioning work around here yet, but I'm trying.
So if I were going to fill out my own form, it would look like this:
    Printer: LaserJet 1022n
Connection: USB connected to an Airport Express G (Firmware version 6.3)
    Driver Version: 1.1.0.182
    Apps: All
Problem Description: Printer queue goes into a Paused mode and won't resume
And to get you started, I have left a blank template at the end of this post.
Also please make sure to include whether you have the 1022, 1022n, or 1022nw AND how it is connected to your Mac. If users of the 1020, what to chime in on this thread that is OK. Anyone else, please post in the FAQ thread or a different device specific thread. As the 1022 seems to be the most problematic at the moment, I'd like to track this down as quickly as possible.
    Just trying to help.

  • Can't install drivers from HP for laserjet 1022 printer on my new computer with Windows 7.

I have a laserjet 1022.  I can't install the HP drivers provided on the HP website onto my new computer.  When it asks me to connect the printer, the printer is recognized, however the message continues to say waiting for the connection.  I have tried all of the suggestions listed on the forum by both HP and other individuals, including down loading the drivers from other countries.  Other attempts when downloading the drivers ends up with a message saying that the download could not be completed.  I have tried other USB cables and that doesn't work.  I love HP products but I really need help on this one.  HELP!

    Hello DayTrader,
When you connect the printer and if the message continues to say "Waiting for Connection", please try the below step..
Go to Device Manager, ( to do so , Right click on Computer icon, Select Manage, from the left pance m click on Device Manager , which would display the Device Manager on right pane.)
There should be Yellow bang entries ( Yellow ! mark ) with printer name on it.
Right Click on each of them and select Update Driver.
Select "Browse my Computer for driver software "
Click on Browse button to point to the CD ( if you are using the CD to run the installation ) else copy the path where the drivers have been extracted if you had downloaded it. Usually it will be in folder with name starting 7z... under TEMP folder .
    Then Click Next button .

  • Mac 10.6.5 HP LaserJet 1022 printing problem persists

    Hi All,
I still couldn't get my HP 1022 prints after updating to 10.6.5 where the release said it fixes some HP printer problem connected to Airport Extreme. (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4250) Mine is connected to Airport extreme too. Installed the 2.5.2 HP printer update too!!
When I print document with multiple pages, the alert LED started blinking after printer the first few pages... Sigh... I did those reset printing system procedures and restarted my Airport extreme... no dice...
Wanna ask if other HP LJ 1022 printer owner has got their problem solved or not.
    Thanks
    Bill

    Hello,
    *BUGS IN UPDATE OS-X 10.6.5*
Updating new or older Intel Mac's to snow leopard to 10.6.5 will result in problems
with several HP printers (both wired and wireless with airport express basestion).
It doesn't mather if you also update the HP-printersoftware to version 2.5.2.
    The problem exists...
After printing only one page, all the lights on the printer itself are flashing
(see also youtube video from German Apple users: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0s7gZYA2Kj4)
No more than one page is printing.
And the printer won't print anymore, untill you turn it off and back on (hard reset).
    SOLUTION
Connect the HP printer (for instance the HP 1022) wired to your Apple Intel computer.
Choose the Gutenprint driver (in stead of the HP driver 1.3.0.261) when adding a (standard)
    printer in System preferences.
The printer will now work fine.
Unfortunately the Gutenprint driver won't work in combination with with wireless printing
to a HP printer with a airport express basesation.
    *EPSON printing problems*
Other printer problems are reported with professional Epson large format printers.
Several Epson drivers won't work in OS-X 10.6.4 and in 10.6.5
Not directly and not tru a RIP printing server (Windows or Mac).
The temporary solution is choosing a general post script printer driver,
in stead of the Epson driver, when adding a printer in system preferences.
    Good luck!

  • Networked HP Laserjet 1022 only prints one copy at a time!!

Hi, I am using a HP Laserjet 1022 printer connected to a Windows Network. Although the exact driver is not listed I get around using the closest driver in the list. Under Tiger everything was fine, after upgrading to Leopard I can only print one copy of a document at a time. When I put any number of copies in the box only one copy is printed.
    Thank you in advance.

read this thread here and my solutions about the 1020.
The driver is also for 1022.
Works great with leopard and 1020, needs to work perfect with leopard and 1022.
Download and do as I describe.

  • Hp laserjet 1022 windows 7 (64 bit) won't install printer, what can i do?

    1. HP LaserJet 1022 Printer
    2. Windows 7 64-bit
    3. No Error Message
    4. The only changes made to the system are security upgrades from Windows Updater. This is a new computer and the old one was running XP.
I have tried removing the printer, downloading newer software (lj1020-HB-pnp-WIN64-en) and trying to install it, adding the printer through windows and still the printer will not work. The cd version will run until it asks you to plug in the printer and then nothing happens. I even tried leaving it running overnight to see if it would find it and install, but nothing happened. This printer is a workhorse for me and I would like to keep it running, any suggestions on getting this printer recognized and running again?

In the Device Manager see if the 1022 is listed under Other devices.
Under "Other devices" right click on HP 1022
    Select "Update Driver Software...."
Select "Browse my computer for driver software"
Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
    Select "Printers" > Next
    Under "Manufactures" > HP

  • Printing files to HP laserjet 1022

I have had problems with printing to a HP laserjet 1022 printer  ever since I installed Snow Leopard. I did not have any problems with printing under Leopard.
    1. Now whenever I try to print a word document or a PDF document, it would print only odd number pages and skip even number pages. Only very rarely does it prints all the pages without skipping.
    2. When a document finishes printing, sometimes it is not cleared/dropped from the print queue, so that when I send a second document to the printer, it starts to print the 1st document again. I have to manually delete the 1st document to prevent it from printing again.
I have tried to download and install the latest printer driver for this printer from HP, but it does not seem to solve the problem.
    Thanks.

There was just an update of HP printer drivers the other day.

  • LaserJet 1022 MAC Snow Leopard 10.6.7

Since upgrading from G5 to Intel iMac I have problems printing on the LaserJet 1022. Other printers work OK.
    * After printing, the print queue doesn't clear the printed document.
    * Only 1 page prints out of a multi-page Word document.
    * After printing a page, the printer lights flash in the sequence TOP & BOTTOM LIGHTS together, then CENTRE LIGHT, then TOP & BOTTOM LIGHTS together etc etc
The only solution seems to be to manually delete the document from the print queue, then turn OFF then ON the printer if its lights are flashing.
    Is the software not working?
Has the LaserJet broken down?  How?
Is the LaserJet not able to work with OS 10.6.7?
    Anyone with thoughts?

Thanks for your reply to my problem. Although your general advice was theoretically correct, the problem appears to be that the latest version of HP’s driver is buggy, so I wasn't able to fix things in the way you suggested--indeed your best endeavours kept me in a loop that didn't work.
I have solved the problem by reinstalling an old HP driver “HP LaserJet 1022 Series OS X Universal Binary Full Solution” and that is HP Version 1.2.0.
As soon as I installed 1.2.0 the printer worked. As soon as I accessed HP Version 1.3.x the problem recurred.
This solution came from a posting on http://automatica.com.au/2011/04/fix-printing-to-the-hp-laserjet-1022-series-under-10-6-snow-leopard...
Automatica also gives a link to HP’s site to download the 1.2.0 drive, which is HP LaserJet 1022 Series OS X Universal Binary Full Solution HP LaserJet 1022 Printer – HP Customer C...

  • HP Laserjet 1022 and Other USB Devices

    Hi All,
I have an issue with a HP Laserjet 1022 printer and a HP Pavilion A145.uk desktop computer.
When the printer is connected to the computer it all works fine, when I try to insert a Kingston flash drive all I get is a message saying USB Device not recognised.
I have tried installing the lastest drivers for the printer on the computer but I still get the issue and it becoming very annoying.
I have searched the internet and tried all of the registry 'hacks' to try and resolve this but its still an issue.
    Thanks
    Rob

    Rob,
The problem is with the cable.
I had a similar problem for about 2 years where my LJ 1022 would only work with a single Windows XP PC I had.  It would not work with the new vista PC I got. I kept getting "usb device not recognised" whenever I tried installing the printer. I thought that it was a problem with the Vista software drivers but when my Windows XP machine died and I tried unsuccessfully to get it to work with 3 other XP machines I realized that it wasn't the operating system.
HP Tech Support and all the forums I found kept telling me to upggrade the drivers and download this and that. None worked. I found a note from one other person facing similar frustrations that indicated that his USB cable was going bad and he decided to replace it - only to find that the printer refused to work with the new ones he got. His last entry was that he was going to get a serial cable from HP. I think this is your best bet.
I tried another usb cable I had (no lable on it) and it has been working perfectly ever since. I have now tried it on about 4 PCs (XP & Vista) and it works on all. I don't know what it is but there is some difference among USB serial cables - which I intend to find out.
Try the cable my friend and let me know how it goes.
    Cheers,
    Daniel

  • Mac won't add HP LaserJet 1022

    Hello,
I have HP LaserJet 1022 printer and it used to work fine on my Mac OS X 10.5.8 until I accidentally (stupidly I should say) deleted it from my printers list (clicked "minus" button in Print&Fax). Since then, I just can't add this printer to my Mac and I tried many things. I have my drivers installed. When I click + in Print&Fax, the Default window is empty and there is no HP printer on the list. What do I do? Hope you can help.
    The printer is USB connected.

Hey , Thanks for getting back to me regarding this issue. At this time I am going to have you check the driver that is being utilised by your HP Laserjet on your Mac OS X 10.10 computer. There is a chance that a generic Apple Airprint driver was loaded onto your printer and is preventing you from printing. Can I please have you follow the steps below to confirm that the correct driver is being utilised.
    1. Click the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences. 2. Click Print & Scan, and then check if the name of your printer displays in the Printers list. 3. Click the name of your printer, click the minus sign (), and then delete the printer.  4. Click the plus sign (), click Add Printer or Scanner, click the name of your printer, 5. Click the Use or Print Using box, and then select the name of your printer in the pop-up menu. Ensure that the Laserjet driver is selected and not the Airprint.
      6. Click Add to add the printer to the list.  Once your HP Laserjet has been confirmed as installed with the correct HP driver, please test printing again.  Please let me know if these steps resolve your printing issue. Good luck!

  • Laserjet 1022 Parts?

I have a Laserjet 1022 printer that works perfectly, and I have tons of toner for it...but it has no network port...just a plastic cover where it would be.
It's my understanding that there was a 1022n that did have the network port, is there any chance I could get the board and install it, or should I just buy a new printer. ..
    Thanks!

There could be different thoughts about your question.  You might need to consider: 1) if the device is currently under active warranty/contract support and 2) cost involved in upgrade options available.
For device feature upgrade to network enabled model, you may buy a an external HP jetdirect card and use it with your USB connected printer (check compatibility chart) and convert it to a network printer.  This will not affect your active warranty support from HP.
Upgrading the printer to network printer (by replacing formatter with with network model), may void warranty.  Do check for the cost of buying a new or replacement formatter at your location.
If your existing printer is already in use for 3-5 years or more than that duration, it may be best to go for an device replacement/upgrade with new printer model.  A product upgrade also ensures support & compatibility with latest operating systems, bundled warranty support and free toner/ink cartridge.
    Hope this helps!

  • Printing Problem with HP LaserJet 1022 and OS 10.4

I am having a problem printing one page of a document on my HP LaserJet 1022 with OS 10.4. All other documents seem to be printing fine, but when I try to print one particular page of a 90 page WORD doc, that page consistently comes out with a big black streak across it and it does something to the printer because all the lights start flashing.
I have powered off, unplugged, reset the printer subsystem, reinstalled the printer driver, and even tried to print on my laptop, and the same thing keeps happening. The document printed for me fine a few weeks ago.
Any suggestions on a work-around for this or a permanent solution? I really need to print this page on my printer ASAP. Thank you.

The page looks perfect in preview and as a PDF. I can't print from the PDF, however, because it shrinks the text and expands the margins ...
Something's fishy. Save as PDF should result a file that looks exactly, precisely, like what you'd get if you printed directly to your printer.
I suspect your Word document has been corrupted by a few bytes of random data that is causing your printer to go nuts. Try cutting that portion out of the document, and pasting it in a new blank document so you can incrementally isolate the damage.
This isn't going to be as easy as it sounds, because when the PostScript printer driver encounters the errant code in the Word document, it's essentially telling the printer "now, go to the top of this page, print a nasty black smudge, and then crash." You might have to cut a whole page before and after the suspected corruption. If you're lucky you might be able to cut the portion then paste it right back as "unformatted text". Try that.
