Laserjet 1300 Driver for Windows 7 64 Bits

Come on HP - I need the driver for Windows 7 64 bits for my HP Laserjet 1300 series.
I installed a generic driver which works OK for some applications.
But when using my Stenograph application the box that should be printed
around the text on the printed page is NOT correct: I only see the top and left side of the box shifted by 3 inches.

Thanks very much for replying to my message. I got PCL 5 from both places -- from the Windows Update list and from the HP website. If it helps, at the hp website it is at:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=238322&p...
You can get to it through www.hp.com/go/windows7, where I also got PCL6.
I have a lenovo thinkpad x300, and connect to the LJ1300 with a USB. I installed PCL5, for example, and tried to print a simple text. But my printer does not respond (the light doesn't start to blink), and when I use the Print function, it gives me a message that indicates "error, 1 document".
I will be off of my printer for a couple of weeks but want to be up and running soon. I had hoped installation of Windows 7 wouldn't be dramatic.
Thanks once again.
The links you cite take you to a page where there are links to:
HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL5 x64
HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL6 x64
HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PostScript x64
As the name suggests, those drivers are intended to substitute for the "real" driver that is specific to a given printer. They primarily are intended for use where a network administrator is responsible for a variety of HP printers on a single network. See http://h20338.www2.hp.com/Hpsub/cache/343033-0-0-225-121.html  Personally, I found the "Universal Print Driver" impossible to install and configure.  Congratulations on installing it -- even if it doesn't work.
On the same page that you linked to, there is a link under the heading "Driver" that leads to "Product Support for Windows 7."  That link basically leads nowhere useful for Windows 7.  The conclusion that you're led to by these pages is that the only choice for Windows 7 is one of the Universal Print Drivers.   This conclusion is erroneous.
I can't reconstruct how I found it, but if you go to the link in my previous post (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=120&prodSeriesId=...) you'll get to an HP support page for using HP printers with Win 7.  Essentially, this page divides various HP printers into 6 categories and describes your options for each category:
HP and Windows 7 printer driver options available for the selected product
HP print driver available
Windows 7 print driver available
HP LaserJet AIO/MFP product options
Product will be supported
Selected product is not supported in Windows 7
The Laserjet 1300 is listed as a Category 3, which means that a driver specific to this model is built-in to Windows 7.  This is not the Universal Print Driver.   The catch is that the driver for the Laserjet 1300 isn't available in Windows 7 out-of-the-box (at least, that's what happened in my installation).  It only shows up if you permit Windows Update to update the list of built-in printer drivers.
I suggest that you completely uninstall your LJ1300.  Disconnect the LJ1300. Then, right click on its icon in Printers and Devices and select "Remove Device."  Then click on any other printer listed and then click on "Print server properties" in the menu bar.  Click on the Drivers tab and Remove the Universal Print Driver (or whatever else looks like it's related to the LJ1300.  Uninstall anything to do with the Universal Print Driver from Control Panel >  Programs > Uninstall a program.
Now, you can take one of two approaches:
What I did was just plug the printer in and turn it on.  If you've managed at some point to update the list of built-in printers, Windows should just identify and install the printer like any other USB device.  Otherwise, you should get a popup asking you to give permission to search the web for a driver. Grant the permission.  Windows will find the correct driver and install the printer.
Alternatively, go to Devices and Printers and start the Add Printer wizard.  Tell it you're installing a local printer to LPT1.  You'll get to the list of built-in printer drivers.  Select HP in the left pane and scroll through the right pane.  If you find the PCL5 driver for the Laserjet 1300, cancel the process and then add the printer as in the paragraph above.  If you don't find an entry for the Laserjet 1300, click the Windows Update button.  After a couple of minutes, the process will be finished, and now when you look there will be the PCL5 driver for the Laserjet 1300.  Cancel the process and add the printer as in the paragraph above.
Good luck.

  • Laserjet 1300 driver for Win7 problem

Plugged my Laserjet 1300 into my new computer (System 7) via USB- and Windows couldn't find the right driver for it.
I canceled Windows trying to install driver automatically, and put original CD driver disk (Serial #Q1334-60107 ver 2.0) into drive-
but couldn't get Windows to recognize printer, even after re-boots.
Since I bought printer a while ago, I checked for updated drivers online, that would be 64 bit.
    I installed this one:
    upd-pcl5-x64-5.4.0.11744.exe
During driver install I plugged in printer & turned it on at what i thought was right time. I see this:
"HP Universal Printing PCL 5" as printer- but it won't print.
Tried Windows 'Uninstall' feature but it doesn't show the driver, to un-install it- OR where the driver's located.
** QUESTIONS: How do I Un-Install the driver? Do I use upd-pcl5-x64-5.4.0.11744.exe OR original disk driver #Q1334-60107 ver 2.0?
What's the procedure for installing this?- I can't find anything, despite an afternoon of Googling.
    Thanks.

Did you follow this guide to install the print? Installing LaserJet 1300 on Windows 7
You should not need to navigate to the driver you download. Actually stick it in the trash can for now When you selecet "Add a Printer" you need to select "Add a local printer." Ignore the writing to the right, that only applies if everything is working properly. If you follow the guide at the top it should get installed properly.
No need to feel foolish and no problem at all for helping. Thats what I am here for

    Hello,
I'm unable to install the HP LaserJet 1005 series driver on my Windows 8.1 x64. Here is what I've done so far:
    - downloaded ljP1000_P1500-HB-pnp-win64-en.exe
    - started the installer program
    - it successfully extracted installation data into C:\Program Files\HP\HP LaserJet P1000_P1500 Series
    - (the printer's USB cable is not yet connected)
    - A pop up window appears: "Waiting for user to connect the device."
    - I connect the USB cable to the computer. The printer is turned on. (The USB cable is OK - verified on a different PC)
    - However, the installer is unable to detect the connected printer. The following messages are reapeatedly written into the installer's log file:

    - note that after connecting the printer's USB, the printer appeared in the Devices and Printers Windows view. However, when I click on Properties and Driver -> Hardware I get that no drivers have been loaded for it.
It looks like the program cannot find the connected printer it this is causing the failure. Here is a download link to the full log file: log.
I've also checked the following two threads which adress similar problems, but there is no workaround in there for my specific problem:
    - HP LaserJet p1005 windows 8 driver ?
    - Windows 8 driver for LaserJet P1005 printer?
Please advice on how to proceed in this situation. Please let me know if you need further information.

  • Status of HP LaserJet 4V Driver for Windows 7 (64-bit)

Purchased a new HP Pavilion PC after verifying Windows 7 Compatibility of my HP LaserJet 4V Printer.  Microsoft's Windows 7 website said it WAS compatible.  However, after buying the new PC and trying to locate the LaserJet 4V 64-bit driver I find that HP's Website says there is NO DRIVER.  So, for now I can't install or use my LaserJet 4V printer any longer.
The LaserJet 4V Connection will be via EtherNet Port on my Cisco/Linksys WRT610 Router for sharing between a couple of PCs.
Does anyone know the real status of the driver or why MS shows the LaserJet 4V is compatible and HP implies by the lack of a driver that it is not?
    Thanks

OK, try the following:  go to the devices and printers folder, Add a printer, Local printer, create a port, standard TCP/IP port, put in the IP address of the print server, Next, select the HP Laserjet 4V (just before Laserjet 5 in the list.  If it is not in the list click on WIndows Update), Next, Next.

Oracle WebLogic Server Downloads can be found at http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/htdocs/wls_main.html
I believe Oracle WebLogic Server is not certified yet on Windows 7 64-bit, and this explains why you cannot find installation files to download. More details about the product certification can be found at:

    Hi,
Unfortunately any HP Software component (HP Toolbox, HP Scan, etc.) for this product support 32-bit envoirnment only.
As you may find by the User Guide, only  basic Print and Scan drivers provided for 64-bit (Page 14):

  • Installing HP Laser Jet 5 driver for Windows 7 64-bit or 32-bit

I had an issue with installing an HP LaserJet 5 printer to a WIndows 7 64-bit box.  I thought I would post my experience and solution to this problem so that others can quickly resolve similar issues.
If you connect as I did with a Parallel Printer-to-USB cable, then Win-7 searches for drivers automatically. But none werre found. However, using "Add Printer" via Control Panel/View Devices and Printers/Printers and Faxes, then left click starts the process for finding and installing the HP driver needed.
No need as others have suggested to go to HP Support Center to install their Universal Printing PCL 5 driver found here:

Hope this helps speed you on your way!

  • Driver for Windows 7 pc that is not directly connected to p1102w LaserJet

    Hi!
I just installed the HP LaserJet P1102w printer.  My Windows XP computers all recognized the printer immediately.
It is installed as a wireless on our secure home network.
When I tried installing on the Windows 7 professional 64-bit computer, it "sees" the printer, but cannot find the correct driver.  Where can I find that?
    Thanks!
    donna

I am afraid that the P1102w's driver has been checked-in MS OS, I guess what happened on your Windows XP computers is somehow the driver has been pre-loaded on it. Back to your question on Where can I find the driver for Windows 7 64, there are several ways,
    1. Smart Install printer by printer - when plug-in USB cabel to your PC, the driver installation instruction should be able guide you install the driver
    2. Use the CD in box
    3. Please go to hp.com to download the proper driver for Win7 OS.
    Hope it helps.

Ok, I found in the Net the drive 7uw706ww.zip, which is Version 6.1.4.2, while the updated version is 6.1.10.5 (7UW708WW).

Ok, I (Lenovo) did it again.
System Update showed me this update: "Vodafone and AT&T Wireless WAN (HSPA) Driver for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit)".
As I'm using Vodafone and I had a AT&T driver, I decided to update.
The result is, that now the GPS doesn't work.
Yes, I'm in a place where the GPS signal is present (my house, with the previous driver I was able to get 6/7 satellites).
What happens? Lenovo TV GPS stays there trying to fix the satellites, but nothing happens. I can't recover the system to a previous state, as I updated Flash player too, and Windows only show me the possibility to roll back this update.
So, apart advicing everyone not to update, I kindky ask:
    - where can I found the previous driver? I searched the web without success...
    - why does Lenovo deploy driver which can cause problems (I just had one updating the BT driver last week! .msi installer problem, error 1935...)?
