Laserjet 200 color m251 install failed

I cannot get my LaserJet 200 Color M251 software to install.  The first install screen gets to 100% and then instantly jumps to an Error message with no error code.  I'm running Windows 7 (64bit) and successfully installed this on another computer runnning the same.  I've tried restarting, checked that spooler is running and everything I can think of short of reinstalling Windows.  Any help? 

I'm having this same problem with the same screen popping up at 91% installation progress. I'm running Windows 8.1 64 bit. I've tried both the CD and the downloaded version with the same results. I did originally have it installed from the CD, but the printer was always indicating that it was offline, but I could print from my other laptop (Windows 7). That's when I went to HP online and used the downloaded program. When I ran it, it deleted the version I had already installed. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    I understand your Laserjet 200 printer is unable to print from office picture manager or photo viewer. Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall these programs to see if this resolves your issue?
    Something else you can try is applying an alternate print driver that could be compatible with your programs. Please follow these instructions in this thread. 
    How is this printer connected? Wireless or USB.

  • Laserjet 200 color M251 cannot connect to ePrint service

    The printer is installed successfully to my home network wirelessly and I am able to print from my wireless laptop. When I have tried to enable the ePrint it fails to connect. My first try was by using my browser to go to the printer's IP address. On the "Web Services Setup" page I clicked the Enable button and waited. It failed to print the Information Sheet that the instructions indicated. So I went to the printer's touch screen and tried to print it from there. That produced the error message "Connection error: 500..." indicating it could not connect to the service. I then shut off both my PC' firewall and my router's firewall and retried. No joy. All the PCs and my Iomega NAS have no issues with connecting to the Internet so I cannot think of why the printer should have a problem.
    I'd appreciate any advice on how to proceed.

    Okay something is wrong here because resetting the printer should not have required you to reinstall the software on your PC. So I am a little puzzled at that on one. What version of the software did the cd install? You can find this out by going to printer properties and the about tab. If you don't have the following version: Version 61.117.01.1530. Then I would definately consider uninstalling your current software and updating to this one.
    Now to wireless direct - this is not required for web services but if you turn it on you will be able to print directly from your mobile device to your printer. If using this method you will have no access to the internet. If using this method for printing, remember to hook back into your wi-fi for other services.
    Again, I would encourage you to update your software driver/installer before going any further.

    Now back to the other issue of connecting to web services, I have tested this repeated this morning and have been able to successfully disable and re-enable web services with the information sheet printing out. The only difference in our set up in mine is networked. So if you don't mind and have the capibility, try networking your printer, see if you can connect to web services then set up the wireless connection. A little clunky but our goal is to get you connected...

  • LaserJet 200 color MFP printer - one laptop can print while the other laptop at home can't.

    My boyfriend and I set up the LaserJet 200 color MFP printer at home and installed the software on both our laptops.  I have a Dell Inspiron 700m and he's got the Lenovo T400.  I have been able to print any time from my laptop, but my boyfriend has only been able to print one document and after that there is a printer error and is not able to print nor troubleshoot.  I uninstalled and re-installed the software one more time, and again, he was only able to print one document and after that, printer error again (does not specify error).  Meanwhile, I continue to be able to print without a problem.  Anything I may be overlooking? Any help will be appreciated.

    What OS are you using?
    Which of the LaserJet 200 series printers do you have? There are several in that series and I want to make sure I'm helping with the right one.

    Hey Yall, I've been searching and watching videos, but it seems like my problem is more complex than it should be.
    I just purchased a LaserJet 200 Color M251nw and I use a Macbook runnining on Mavericks OSx (10.9.2)
    Two-Sided Printing is why I purchased it, besides it being a good deal and having Laser Technology..
    PROBLEM: I can't seem to ENABLE double-sided printing. I have installed latest drivers, and here's the kicker, there is no "driver" tab for my printer to allow me to "checkbox" Duplex Printing that I have been seeing on other support pages. The only TABS i see are the Utility and General. I've seen the Driver tab for previously owned printers but not this one. 
    PLEASE help!!!

    I understand you would like to know how to set the two-sided printing.
    I will be happy to help you.
    This information is provided by the Manual on page 38.
    LASERJET PRO 200 COLOR.
    Print on both sides (Mac OS X)
    1. Insert enough paper into one of the trays to accommodate the print job.
    2. On the File menu, click the Print option.
    3. Open the Finishing menu, and click the Manual Duplex tab or open the Manual Duplex menu.
    4. Click the Manual Duplex box, and select a binding option.
    5. Click the Print button. Follow the instructions in the pop-up window that appears on the computer
    screen before replacing the output stack in Tray 1 for printing the second half.
    6. Go to the product, and remove any blank paper that is in Tray 1.
    7. Insert the printed stack face-up with the bottom edge feeding into the printer first in Tray 1.
    8. If prompted, press the appropriate control-panel button to continue.
    You can also set this as a preset.
    Create a printing preset for Mac.
    1.On the File menu, click the Print option.
    2.Select the driver.
    3.Select the print settings that you want to save for reuse.
    4.In the Presets menu, click the Save As… option, and type a name for the preset.
    5.Click the OK button.
    Use printing presets
    1.On the File menu, click the Print option.
    2.Select the driver.
    3.In the Presets menu, select the printing preset.

  • HP LaserJet 200 color MFP M276nw - cannot connect

    Hello,
    Installed a HP LaserJet 200 color MFP M276nw on a Windows 7 system with no issues.  Then added the "device" / printer on two Windows tablets, with no issues.  I was able to print from all three devices.  The tablets cannot 'find' the printer.
    I then added the printer to another Windows 7 system and now cannot connect from the other systems.  I am still able to print from the second Windows 7 system.  (I removed the printer from the second Windows 7 system and readded it without issue, and ensured Share the Printer was selected).
    Please advise.  Should I just return the printer?

    Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I see you would like to turn off the Fax error reports on your HP Laserjet 200 Color MFP M276nw.
    From the front panel of your LJ, please follow the path below:
    Setup Menu > Fax Setup > Advance Setup > Allow Fax Reports > NO or Off
    You should not receive anymore fax error reports.

  • Laserjet 200 color

    I have a Laserjet 200 Color printer.  I have replaced the ink cartridges but I still get skips in the printing.  There is no rhyme or reason as the area that is missing ink varies.  Any suggestions to clear up the problem or do I need a new printer?

    I see that you are having issues with the ink missing on the print outs. I can help you, but I will need some more information so I can provide the proper steps to try and resolve this issue.
    I would suggest to run a cleaning and a calibration on the printer.
    What is the full name and product number of your printer? How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
    What operating system are you using? How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer.
    How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet/Wireless)
    Are you using Genuine HP Toner?
    What are the toner levels?

    Laserjet200 (HP LaserJet 200 color M251nw) prints, but images are blurred; sometimes the entire page and other times just the right half. Staples tech said the drum could be bad. Can this be corrected? Using W7 ultimate OS.

    I see by your post that the images are blurred. I would like to help you.
    Run a calibration on the printer.
    On the printer touch the wrench, system setup, print quality, color calibration calibrate now.
    Print a Diagnostics Page to see if you have the same results. Trying to determine if it is a hardware or software issue.
    Go to Setup, Reports, arrow down and select Diagnostics Report.
    I have provided a document with more steps for running a cleaning and checking print driver settings.
    Troubleshooting Print Quality Issues.
    Remove the toner and check to see if there is any toner on drum.
    Make sure the paper type is selected to the media that you are using, not the default setting unspecified.
    Please provide the following information so I can assist you better.
    What were the results of Diagnostics Page and Print Quality Page?
    Are you using Genuine HP Toner?
    What are the Ink levels?
    Was there any damage on the toners?

    This model provides some limited adjustment capability as mentioned  in the User Guide:
    Excerpted:
    Set the fax-error-correction mode
    Usually, the product monitors the signals on the telephone line while it is sending or receiving a fax. If
    the product detects an error during the transmission and the error-correction setting is On, the product
    can request that the portion of the fax be resent. The factory-set default for error correction is On.
    You should turn off error correction only if you are having trouble sending or receiving a fax, and you
    are willing to accept the errors in the transmission. Turning off the setting might be useful when you are trying to send a fax overseas or receive one from overseas, or if you are using a satellite telephone
    connection.
    1. From the Home screen, touch the Setup button.
    2. Touch the Service menu.
    3. Touch the Fax Service menu.
    4. Touch the Error Correction button, and then touch the On button.
    Change the fax speed
    The fax-speed setting is the modem protocol that the product uses to send faxes. It is the worldwide
    standard for full-duplex modems that send and receive data across telephone lines at up to 33,600 bits
    per second (bps).
    The factory-set default for the fax-speed setting is Fast (V.34).
    You should change the setting only if you are having trouble sending a fax to or receiving a fax from a
    particular device.
    Decreasing the fax speed might be useful when you are trying to send a fax overseas, or receive one from overseas, or if you are using a satellite telephone connection.
    1. From the Home screen, touch the Setup button.
    2. Touch the Fax Setup menu.
    3. Touch the Advanced Setup menu.
    4. Scroll to and touch the Fax Speed button, and then touch the speed setting that you want to use.

    I continue to get fax confirmation pages even though the message is "no fax detected" and "0" page. I get several of these a day with no accompanying fax  on my HP200 Color MFP

    I understand you are getting fax confirmation pages printing serveral times a day with the message "no fax detected".
    I can help you with this issue today.
    Check these settings for the fax:
    Go to the wrench icon/fax setup menu/advanced setup/private receive/turn it off.
    Go to the wrench icon/service /fax service/error correction/turn it off.
    Go to the wrench icon/fax setup /advanced setup/fax speed/change it to medium.
    Go to wrench icon/service menu/fax service/clear saved faxes.
    If you are still having issues, then follow this document for checking the connections and settings for the fax.
    Cannot Send or Receive Faxes.
    Sorry for all the questions, but it will help to resolve this issue quicker.
    What were the results of the fax test?
    Are you able to send or receive faxes?
    What type of connection do you have? (Analogue, DSL, Cable Modem)
    Are you using the 2 wire fax cable?
    Do you have distinctive ring set up on the line?
    Is there any voice mail set up?
    Do you have a answering machine? (Where is it connected to?)
    Where is the fax cable connected to? (modem, wall jack)
    Is there a phone also connected the printer?

  • HP laserjet 200 color M251nw color issue

    hey ppl, new here. we have an HP 200 color M251nw that will only print black and white. Well using the black toner cartridge and not the others. I've checked the printer properties and all color sections seem enabled. I am going to try an updated driver to see if that'll help. Seems like a setting not turned on..??? Any help with this is appreciated.

  • Network Configuration for HP LaserJet 200 color MFP M276nw

    Can the HP LaserJet 200 M276nw can be configured to scan to a network folder without initial set-up from a PC? Without the need of initially connecting the device to a computer first.
    We are running a virtual environtment and the printer will need to scan to a configured network folder and this should be done via the device. Of course folder permisisons will be completed prior. I believe I saw a manual where the Embeded web server had this configuration, but would to make sure prior to committing to the purchase.
