LaserJet 2100 Tray printing problem

One computer in the office (8 computers total) will only print from tray 1 (Manual feed with envelopes) when set to automatically select. I can manually select tray 2 and print from that tray.
Paper tray settings:
Auto - Letter
Tray 1 – Envelope
Tray 2 – Letter
Tray 3 – Executive
These are the same settings as all the other computers in the office.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled it. Changed drivers from PCL6 to PCL5.
It even prints the test page on the envelopes.
Any suggestions?

I am having similar problem with C309C. Front page looks good, but the back page is not centered. Thank you.

Yes I solved the problem. I had to clean the registry of all information regarding this printer. During the installation I noticed interesting thing. The only installation that worked well was from the CD that came with the printer. I've tried downloaded latest version but it didn't install properly and have no idea why.

Laserjet 2605dn color printing problem, Blue/green line on page.

I have an HP color laserjet 2605dn that has started to print a faint,thin blue/green line from top to bottom about 3 inches in from the entire right edge of every page. I ran the cleaning cycle with no change. Any suggestions on how to correct this?

I have very similar problem on my 2600n which is printing 2 vertical green lines very close together about 1.5 inches from left edge. All toners are in supply override mode with black toner reading: Estimated Pages Remaining 0
Color cartridges contain toner with 329 pp remaining according to supply status page.
Is this problem likely to disappear when toner cartridge(s) are replaced?

HP Laserjet 1020 Shared printer problem

Hello there I have here an HP Laserjet 1020 connected to one machine and shared to 3 others over the network. Initially the printer works fine. All 3 computers that share the printer are able to print, as well as the host of the printer. However give it 3 days to a week and all of a sudden the printer is no longer able to print. All shared computers and the host are able to see the printer, send a print job, but nothing happens. The print queue is empty as if the job was completed. Occasionally if the host of the printer is restarted a print job will execute but very rarely. The only way that I have been able to fix this problem is to delete the printer from all computers. Reinstall drivers and share the printer on the host machine and share the printer on the following 3 computers. This has become very time consuming as its been done 4 times over the last 3 weeks. If it helps the host machine and 2 computers run XPSp3 and the 4th computer uses win7. Any solution that will help fix this issue will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I see by your post that the printer is printing distorted characters. Thanks for providing the screen shot. I can help you.
It looks like a issue with the toner or possible a hardware issue with the printer or fuser.
Inspect the toner cartridge for damage:
1. Remove the toner cartridge from the product and verify that the sealing tape has been removed.
2. Check the memory chip for damage.
3. Examine the surface of the imaging drum on the bottom of the toner cartridge.
CAUTION: Do not touch the roller (imaging drum) on the bottom of the cartridge.
Fingerprints on the imaging drum can cause print-quality problems.
4. If you see any scratches, fingerprints, toner on the drum or other damage on the imaging drum, replace the toner.
5. If the imaging drum does not appear to be damaged, rock the toner cartridge gently several times and reinstall it. Print a few pages to see if the problem has resolved.
I have provided a document for cleaning inside the printer and running a cleaning page, resetting the printer and checking the driver settings. Resolving Print Quality Issues.
Try printing a document again.

Hi all,
I have new HP Laserjet 1606dn. When I setup for USB printing, it can print fine. But when I setup this printer to be network printer, when I order to print 1 page, it always continue printing. I can';t stop printing. I have 5 printers for this model. When I setup another printers, it is still be the same. Anybody can give me the solution. Thank you very much.

I retried the installation from the driver after having cleaned previous installation and having unplugged the printer.

LaserJet and InDesign printing problem

All of a sudden my CS6 InDesign will not print to LaserJet.

This is so odd. On this particular problem page, a couple of days ago I replaced the image 3 times and it still gave me a printer error. I copied the page from the 30-page doc onto a new, single page and still had the problem. I deleted the image and still had the problem. There are three text boxes and I deleted them one at a time and each time, all the way down to one text box, I was still having the problem. Tonight I go back to the original 30-page doc., replace the image, and the page printed out fine. Frustrating!

Windows 7 64-bit & HP LaserJet M1005 MFP Printing problem

I have installed the latest available drivers (as of 26rd October 09) for HP LJ M1005 MFP printer
on Windows 7 64-bit Enterprise. Printer connected over USB.
I can't print more than two pages from any application.
It stop printing after two pages and have a message on LED "Printing Document".
Nothing is in the print queue.
Printer well working on WinXP, Win2003, Win2008 x64.
Anyone else have this problem? Or even a solution?

I am printing from an ACER laptop, using windows 7. the document is in PDF format.

LaserJet P1006 booklet printing problem

I'm trying to print a booklet with "Left Edge Binding". The output pages are not centered (they are shifted to the right, no space between pages). I've tested it by printing MS Word document with grey background and zero margins. If I print it manually ("2 pages per sheet") everything is correct. Is it a driver error?

Printing Problems - HP LaserJet 2100 with USB/Parallel adapter - Print jobs 'hang'

Hoping to get some assistance with a persistent and frustrating printing problem.
I've got an older HP LaserJet 2100 that was working great until recently. It doesn't have a USB port on it, so I have it connected to my iMac (21" 3.1 gHz, i7) via a USB/Parallel cable. Up until now I have been forced to us Gutenprint (wss running 5.0.2) as the Apple provided drivers cause the printer to spit out pages upon pages of gibberish.
Recently, when printing the document (or PDF, or whatever) gets sent to the queue, but doesn't seem to fully make it to the printer. For lack of a better term, it 'hangs' at some percent (47%, 82% etc.) in the queue window and doesn't print.
A few further details that are causing me extreme levels of frustration:
I have reset the SMB and this results in being able to print one page normally, then the system returns to the problem above
OSX can see the printer and I have deleted/added it many times
Printing system has been reset multiple times
On a restart, the first page that was trying to print does print out. This sometimes happens when the log-in page appears, sometimes when I log back in to my user account.
The printer is connected directly to my iMac and not through a USB hub.
I have another printer (a new HP Officejet 6600) that works without a problem.

This problem is most likely a deficiency in the parallel-adapter end of that cable. I'd look for another USB-parallel cable.
There used to be a special driver that worked around the limitation of the parallel adapter "data shifter" - but it doesn't appear to be available anymore:

2100 printing problem

I have a laserjet 2100 in my office with major issues. Every time any one prints to it the red light on the printer goes on and you have to manually press the button on the printer for it to start printing and you have to press the button for every single page. I have changed all the computers printing settings and the printer settings and all is set for A4 paper feed. Even after uninstalling it and loading the updated drivers it is still giving the same problems.

It sounds as though your PIXMA MG2100 is not printing in color but is printing from the black ink. What we can do is perform a Nozzle Check to confirm this. Here are the steps to do so:
Print the nozzle check pattern to determine whether the ink ejects properly from the print head nozzle.
Note:
If the remaining ink level is low, the nozzle check pattern will not be printed correctly. Replace the FINE cartridge whose ink is low.
You need to prepare: a sheet of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper
Make sure that the power is turned on.
Load a sheet of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in the front tray.
Open the output tray extension, open the paper output tray, then extend the paper output support.
Print the nozzle check pattern.
Press the Maintenance button to display A.
Press the Color or Black button.
The nozzle check pattern will be printed.
This is how your Nozzle Check should look:
If this does not match, we should perform some deep cleanings. I have provided steps below to do so:
Make sure that the power is turned on.
Clean the print head deeply.
Clean the print head deeply.
Press the Maintenance button repeatedly until y is displayed.
Press the Color or Black button.
The machine starts cleaning the print head deeply.
Do not perform any other operations until the machine completes the deep cleaning of the print head. This takes about 1 to 2 minutes.
Check the print head condition.
When the deep cleaning is complete, the LED (Light Emitting Diode) returns to the copy standby mode.
Please perform up to four deep cleanings and check the Nozzle Check to see if it improves. If it does not, unfortunately, the printer would require service. Please contact us by visiting http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/standard_display/contact_us_consumer to hear about your service options.

Laserjet 2100 will only print one page at a time.

I recently acquired a second hand Laserjet 2100 Series. Installation was fine but it will only print one page at a time, I have to keep pressing the 'Go' button, which is very frustrating. The manual tells me that it is in 'Manual' mode but not how to change it. Can anyone help, please? O/S Windows 7. Thank you.

My printer (HP Laserjet 2100) is no longer working after the upgrade; it just spits out page after page of error codes and blank pages. I've tried using both the HP driver and a generic driver. This is being accessed over a network. Has anyone encountered this problem after upgrading from Lion?

Make sure to install the latest HP Printer Drivers 2.11 update as it should resolve a Postscript printing issue and I believe it will resolve the problem.
You may do so by clicking the Apple icon and then Software Update, you should see the update listed.
For any further issue go to Library\Printers and remove the HP folder, then download and install the following package:

Exactly the same infuriating problem we and many others get with OS X from 10.6 on when Apple dropped Apple Talk.
Having spent days fighting to get drivers that will run our older laser printers like HP5000, 5100, 2100, 2200 and 4MV, we came up with a simple solution:
We use an iMac running 10.5.8 as a print server. All the 10.6 upwards Macs on the same network will see and add the printers immediately through the shared older (Apple Talk) iMac.
Cheapest and simplest option really .... it'sannoying that a brand new Mac can no longer see existing network printers without complex investigation and trying various downloads.
Answer is simple and cheap if you happen to own a 4 or 5 year old Mac with an OS lower than 10.6 which still has Apple Talk.

LaserJet 2100 error when printing. 080 mb, or 030mb

I have an end user in another city who is unable to print on his HP LaserJet 2100. When he tries to send a page, the print control box says printing.. but then nothing. I had him cycle the printer off, wait, then on, and the first time, we got "032 mb". Had him check connections, the cycle off and on again, and this time "080" came up o nthe screen. He says there are no lights on in/next to the bottons.
Anyone have an idea?

I have exactly the same problem with Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 with Epson R300, only started happening since I installed EasyPrint. I can't uninstall EasyPrint as it does not appear anywhere to uninstall it.
Just to reiterate, try to print, set parameters, press the print button and Adobe Elements 6 closes to Windows.
I tried unistalling the latest version of the drivers and installed the previous, did not help.
Unistalled all Epson Drivers, unistalled Adobe Elements 6, re-booted and installed AE6 again, then original Epson drivers, didn't cure it, so I assume EasyPrint is the problem?
AE6 and Epson r300 worked for 2 years until I upgrade the drivers.
How do we get Adobe to look at this?
