Laserjet 3050 alignment failures

I installed a new cartridge and on the prompt printed an alignment page.  This failed to print properly the printer and text at the bottom of the page.  Following the scanning process alignment failed and the default settings were applied.  Pages now print with intermittent lines of text omitted.  I have tried cleaning the printer head but with no different result.  What next?

    Hi craigranderson, and welcome to the HP Forums.
    I see you are experiencing an alignment failure.  I would like to try and help.
    I would suggest performing a power reset. Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
    I would also recommend following the steps in this document on an 'Alignment failed' Error Message Displays on the All-in-One.

  • I can not scan from my HP laserjet 3050

    When I updated my HP Printing software for the HP Laserjet 3050 all in one, the printing functions work fine but the scanner function is not recognized.

    Try using Image Capture. It's in Applications.

  • HP Laserjet 3050 Not Printing

    I have the HP Laserjet 3050 and as soon as I click print, the printer goes into pause mode. I have removed the drivers, removed the printer from the library file, reset all printers and this problem still occurs. Is anyone else having this issue? Also will scanning ever be supported with this printer?

    My HP Multipurpose LaserJet 3030 is working NOT similarly. Deleting the print queue, restartin, reseting the printing system, even updating HP drivers thru Software update (to 2.0) doesn't work. The best I can do is have the print queue say the printer is idle and ready. Driver version 5.3.0 is listed as working on Apple's website, interestingly, this version did NOT change after updating HP Drivers 2.0 thru SoftwareUpdate.
    Every time I add a print job to the queue, the printer pauses and won't resume, clicking resume repeatidly I occasionally view a g;ajsglsdflksf USB error, but, it disappears too fast to read accurately. If I delete the print the job from the queue I can then resume the printer. That lasts until the next job is added, putting the printer permanently into "Paused" purgatory!! aka the HP PP syndrome!!

    My telephone land line went out on me. The telephone repairman did his little troubleshooting thing and told me that the problem was a short in my printer. Ever heard of suc a thing and is there a fix for it?

  • Scanning with windows 8.1 and laserjet 3050

    I have had my Laserjet 3050 for many years and all printer functions have worked well for that time using Windows XP.  I have two new computers now. One with Windows 8.1 and the other a Mac with OS 10.9.  I am able to print with the LaserJet from either computer but unable to scan to saving to computer on either computer.  I have checked for HP updates and new drivers but no success.  UIn XP I would go to the Start menu and then programs to the HP folder and there I would click on scan.  There is no such program or application or HP folder on new either computer.  The Windows 8.1 will not read the installation disc that came with the Laserjet 3050.  What do I have to do to be able to scan and save to computer?  

    OK, I figured out how to scan in Windows 8.1 but still unable to do it in OS10.10.  I can print to Laserjet.  My LaserJet 3050 is recognized in System Preferences/Printers & Scanners but to scan my LaserJet and Mac don't see each other.  I am not able to find an app to do this function.  How do I correct this?

    If this HP LaserJet 3050 All-in-One is the model, I don't see a driver available for OS 9 on that site.
    Without a driver installed in OS 9, you can't print from Classic.
    Maybe greg sahli, the printer guru, can offer an alternate means.

  • HP Officejet 6310 All-in-One alignment failure error

    Unable to copy.  When I turn on printer it attempts to align print heads but produces error message "Alignment failed".  I can print from computer.

    Welcome to the HP Forums!
    I noticed that you are getting the alignment failure error with your HP Officejet 6310. I am happy to help you with this issue!
    I would suggest a hard reset, by going to this post, How to perform a Hard Reset, by @Rich1. It is important that the printer's power cable is plugged directly into the wall outlet, not a surge protector. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.  
    Also, I would recommend making sure none of your ink cartridges are low or empty, and that they are Genuine HP ink cartridges.

  • Laserjet 3050 with MacBook Pro

    I saw another support message say that the HP laserjet 3050 is no longer supported on the Mac. Is this true?
    After a recent Mac update I have been unable to print. The printer dialog just says "Waiting for printer to become available." And it never becomes available.
    I have a MacBook Pro running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5. I'm a PC person, so have no clue how to fix this problem.
    Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • Alignment Failure

    i just bought a new c6380, right out of the box, have the same problem with alignment failure.  called hp customer service, tells me i have to bring the inks and the printhead to get replaced.  i bought the thing brand new.  they also tell me there is a chance the ink may not get replaced if the ink level is low!!!!  the ink level is low because the freaking printer used up all the ink when it was printing multiple alignment test pages, not because i had printed anything else other than the test photo which the installation software asked me to print.   this thing is completely useless... will never buy an hp product ever again.  <text deleted>

    Please read this post then provide some details.  What printer model? What operating system?  Are there any error messages on the printer or computer screen?  
    For alignment to succeed both black and color must properly print.  Some models require the printed page to be loaded in the printer and then a button pressed to complete the alignment, other models have automatic alignment.

    Multiple-Page scanning through Acrobat XI Std in Windows 7 32bit with HP LaserJet 3050 are not available!
    Each time click on create -> PDF from scanner it just appear the "last page" in acrobat.
    Is this acrobat XI bug?

    Please update the drivers for your scanner. We saw this issue before and was resolved by installing the latest driver - Re: Acrobat 10 not Scanning all Pages from ADF (Automatic Document Feeder)

    I tried to install the HP LaserJet 3050  printer on T61 with Vista Ultimate. I dowloaded driver from HP. While installing the printer is not getting connected through the USB ports.  9tried all 3 USB ports) Checked and found the USB ports are working good with other products. Please help in this regard

    Scanning is not possible.
    Can I scan using my all-in-one when it is connected to the USB port of an Airport Express or Airport Extreme Base Station?

  • Laserjet 3050 - problems to print after update to Yosemite

    Since I updated to Yosemite, I am having problems printing pdf and image files. Just after clicking "print", the printer says "Printing Document" while the green light flashes. However, nothing happens. The printer goes back to "ready" mode without any printed page. 
    Other documents from safari, etc. can be printed. 
    I have seen other people have the same problems but I have not seen a solution. 
    Can someone help me?

    You might try installing the 3rd Party Gutenprint driver for your LaserJet 3050.  It may provide better support for your printer then the Apple provided driver in Yosemite.  You can download this driver here: http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php

    I'd like to help you be able to print again. I understand your colored cartridges are working, but the black ink is not.  Please begin with the steps in the following document; Printer Prints a Blank Page or Does Not Print Black or Color Ink for the HP Officejet 6500 All-in-On...
    If you complete all of the steps in the document above and the issue continues, my own personal recommendation, not one of HPs, is to use the solution offered in the following video.  I only suggest doing this if he printer and printhead are out of warranty.  Hot Water Printhead Flush - HP Ink Series Printers with removable Printhead.
    I have recommended this solution to others and have seen success, but I can not guarantee this will resolve the issue, it is an end of the line kind of effort. I hope it helps.

    Although the printer might be out of warranty, if the issue persists, HP may be able to offer you something.
