Laserjet P1100

hi, I have just bought a laserjet P1100 printer, ive sorted the printing by usb, but the default setting for wireless is different from my home network, so how can i change the ip address for the printer, I did try changing it via the printer settings, and on there it says its changed, but when I print the test page to get the ip address so i can put it into the web browser, its stiull says the origonal ip address. Any ideas please.

Hi @sweep ,
I see that you are having issues printing PDF documents from a third party website. I would be happy to help you.
Which Laserjet model do you have? How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Laserjet P1102 or the Laserjet P1102w.
Try and print a PDF document from the manual for the printer, to see if you have the same results.
This way we will know if it is the website or if the printer won't print any PDF documents.
Let me know the results. LASERJET PROFESSIONAL P1100 Printer series.
Try another web browser to see if the PDF will print.
Try printing the PDF as an image:
Open the original PDF file, if necessary.
Click File, and then click Print, or click the Print icon. The Print window opens.
Click Advanced. The Advanced Print Setup window opens.
Select the Print As Image checkbox, change any other settings as desired, and then click OK.
On the Print window, click OK again to begin printing.
Run all the Adobe Updates. Product updates.
How is the printer connected? (USB/Wireless)
If there is anything else I can help you with, just let me know.
Have a nice day!
Thank You.

  • HP laserjet P1100 wireless connection for mac

Hoping for a quick response.... I have a Mac with 10.8.5 and I have purchased an HP Laserjet P1100 wireless printer. I have tried installing the drivers to print wireless...ly with no success. I have taken time out to type this message because I have not been able to find someone who has had  the same issue in the internet. I need a walk thru because there are many steps where the issue may be occuring. Your written installation documentation conflicts with your User Guide PDF file. Cord or no cord during driver installation for wireless connection???  Was lost after #5 page 18 on the User Guide PDF file.
I figured it out. Your directions are misleading and not up to date. Cord is not an issue but needed for entire install process. At one point I'm in my system prefs then I'm on my web browser where I  found Bonjour which added the network to my printer choices so now I can print wirelessly... hopefully I don't have to do that again because I'm not sure of the steps I took. Fairly complex set up.

    Hey @matt4,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I see that you have a Mac OS X 10.8.5 and a new HP Laserjet P1100 series printer and are looking for quick and easy wireless configuration steps. I just have one question for you:
    Do you have a P1100 or a P1102w?
    What's my Model Number?
I'm going to assume that you have a Laserjet P1102w. The steps for wireless configuration of a Laserjet P1102w are a bit confusing on Mac OS X 10.8 as you need to use the generic Apple Airprint driver because there is no 'Full Feature Software and Driver' installation for that Operating System. In saying that, I will try my best to give you easy steps to reference should you need to configure your printer again on the wireless network.
How to Connect the Printer to the Network:
Step 1: Install the Generic Mac Printer Driver:
    1. Turn your printer on
    2. Plug your USB cable from the printer directly into your Mac
    3. Click on the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences
    4. Click Print & Scan and make sure your printer is in the list of available devices.
    5. If your printer is not listed, click the plus () sign at the bottom left pane, click the name of your USB printer, and then click Add.
Step 2: Connect the Printer to the Wireless Network:
I've added the video above so you can view these step-by-step instructions.
Click the Apple icon (), and then click System Preferences.
    Click Print & Scan.
Click Open Print Queue, and then click Printer Setup.
Click the Utility tab, and then click Open Printer Utility.
    Click HTMLConfig.
Click the Networking tab, and then click Wireless from the list on the left.
Under Communication Mode, click Infrastructure, select your network SSID from the Available Network Names (SSID) list, and then click the << button.
From the Security Mode pop-up menu under Authentication, click WEP or WPA/WPA2. Your selection depends on the wireless security protocol your network uses.
Note: If your network does not have wireless security, leave the Security Mode set to Open System (No Authentication).
Type your WEP/WPA/WPA2 key in the appropriate field, and then click Apply.
In the confirmation box, click OK, and then close the HTML Config and Print Queue windows.
Step 3: Delete the USB connected printer, and then add the wireless connected printer:
In the Print & Scan window under Printers, click your printer name, and then click the Minus sign () to remove it.
NOTE: This removes the USB connection from the list so that the only entry for your printer is the wireless connection.
Disconnect the USB cable from the printer and the computer.
Under Printers, click the Plus sign ().
Select your printer name with Bonjour as the Kind, and then click Add
Once your printer is configured for Bonjour, if you have other Mac OS X computers that you want to use with this network printer you do not have to run all these steps again. You simply make sure that the other Mac computers are all connected to the same network that you have set your printer up on and just open Print & Scan. Under Printers click the  () plus sign and select your  printer name with Bonjour as the Kind, and then click Add.
You can reference all of this information in: Setting Up the Printer for a Wireless Network for the HP LaserJet Pro P1102w Printer
Let me know if these steps help clear up any confusion for you. Good luck!

I have a Laserjet pro P1100 printer that was connected to my iMac desktop via USB.We've moved and our new house has wired LAN outlets which I'd prefer to use rather than USB or wireless connections. Is there a way to adapt a standard RJ45 ethernet cable to the USB port on my printer?

Thanks a lot for the question, now lets get you an answer!
    Unfortunately that is not possible.
Sorry for the inconvenience. Have a great day!

    Hello jnapier99
The Officejet 6500 E709n does have a Windows 8 driver, however, it does not have a Windows 8 RT driver which is what the MS Surface tablet uses. This would explain the message you are receiving.

    @jrboozer,
Have you tried going into your Start menu, looking for the HP folder, then using the wireless configuration utility? When I set the wireless up on my machine, this was how I did it and it worked beautifully.
Please let me know if you need any other help.

  • Setup P1102w with static IP when I don't have DHCP

    Hello
I had  P1102w for some time connected to work WiFi hot spot which had DHCP and everything was working fine.
Recently work network changed from dynamic to static IP (completely different IPs). When I try to connect the printer to network I run into vicous circle. In order to connect to network I need to set-up static IP manually via embedded web server, but in order to use web server I need to connect to WiFi network first.
Is there a way to manually set-up SSID, password, IP, Mask and Gateway using USB connection?
    Any other options?

Should be. Did you follow the instructions on page 26 of the User Guide? All is there.

  • Attempting to reconfigure wifi settings on P1102W

    HP P1102W - WIndows 8.1
Have installed a new router that doesn't support WEP, which my printer was originally configured for.  Have tried to reconfigure it using this document -  "http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-LaserJet-P1100-Printer-series/4110394/model/4110306/document/... -  but firstly the setup CD doesn't trigger automatically, and then after running setup manually and selecting install a new printer with wifi nothing happens, the program returns to the introduction window and that's it.  It doesn't prompt to attach the usb cable for the reconfig or anything. My support CD is V3.0
    Any suggestions please?

Hi , Thanks for posting in the HP Forums, and welcome.  I understand you are having an issue selecting the manual duplex print setting for your HP LaserJet Pro M1217nfw printer on your Mac computer running 10.10. I'd love to help you with this. Firstly, do you have the most recent HP Printer driver update installed? If not you can download it from the App Store here - HP Printer Drivers v3.1 for OS X Then, I'd recommend removing and re-adding your printer, to make sure you are using the correct driver (10.10 will often default to using an AirPrint driver which does not have a manual duplexing option). Click the Apple icon on your menu bar.Select System Preferences, then Printers and Scanners.Select your M1217 and click the (-) button to remove it.Press the (+), and then select Add Printer or Scanner. (NOTE: You don't want to add the printer as a "nearby printer" even if it is listed there)Select your printer from the list of available printers that loads.Make sure under "Use:" that it lists the printer name (not AirPrint), then select Add.Try printing your document(s) again. Please respond to let me know if we've resolved this issue!Good luck.

  • Help!  How do I download software for a HP Laserjet Professional P1100? I keep getting the same message when I have downloaded the file "Your security preferences allow installation of only apps from the Mac App Store and identified developers" Help!

How do I download software for a HP Laserjet Professional P1100? I keep getting the same message when I have downloaded the file "Your security preferences allow installation of only apps from the Mac App Store and identified developers" Help!

You can change the settings in Security & Privacy to "Anywhere"...
That should work... as to whether the printer driver will work, that's another question.
    Good luck,

  • Resolution - Printing HP LaserJet & Linksys Wireless Print Server WPS54GU2

    Hello Guys:
After trying to figure out for 10 days and calling HP, Applet and Linksys support, i finally am able to print to my printer.
I have iMac running Tiger 10.4.8. I have a HP LaserJet 1012 Printer connected in a USB Port to the Wireless Print Server WPS54GU2. This is what I did to get it working.
    First install the following drivers:
    1) Go to http://www.linuxprinting.org/macosx/hpijs/ and download hpijs-foomatic-2.0.2.ppc.dmg and espgs-7.07.1.ppc.dmg file. Install hpijs first and espgs second.
    2) After that Go to Server Preferences, Double click on Print/Fax.
    3) Click on the "+" sign, select Line Printer Daemon - LPD
    4) In the Address field, enter the IP address of your print server.
    5) In the Queue name (This is very important). I used L2 for USB. You can try P1, L1 as well. Not sure how you have connected to the print server. For me L2 worked. I had tried using L1 and P1 and it didn't work for me.
    6) The Name field should automatically be populated.
    7) In the Print Using, select HP and then select "HP LaserJet 1012 Foomatic/hpijs" as the printer or whatever driver you have for your printer.
    8) Click on Add
And now open up text edit or something and you should be able to print.
let me know if there are any questions.

Try Repairing permissions (Disk Utility). Then restart, then add again.
What do you mean by the printer doesn't show up - the driver (print using:)?
You can try the generic HP Photosmart P1100 Gimp-Print driver that comes in OS X.

  • HP LaserJet Pro P1102w Printer - Firmware Upgrade

In her apartment, my elderly mother has an HP LaserJet Pro P1102w printer, that I set up for her.
It’s hooked up, via WiFi, to her Router that's attached to her Cable Modem.
She doesn't have her own PC. She has only the printer.
When the printer was first purchased, I brought the printer and my Windows XP laptop to her home and installed the printer there.
I email documents to her printer's HP ePrint email address, and I also print web pages to the printer using Google Cloud Print. I do this from my own home, to send her information from the Internet.
An email was received today, saying the following:
"A free firmware upgrade is required to keep your ePrint and associated Print Apps service working. Please go to www.hp.com/go/eprint, download the newest firmware, and continue using your ePrint solution. If you do not complete the upgrade, your ePrint and Print Apps may not work after Hewlett-Packard has finished a service upgrade on 08/07/2013.
Devices requiring the free firmware upgrade are as follows:
HP LaserJet Pro P1100 Series (model HP LaserJet Pro P1102w)”
Is there any way for me to use my Windows XP laptop, to connect to the printer, remotely over the Internet, via the printer's HP ePrint email address, or via the HP Connected account, or in any other way,
and initiate the printer’s firmware upgrade, without leaving my home?
    Thank you.
