LaserJet P3005 Intermitent printing issue
Hi there,
We have a LaserJet P3005 on a local LAN which receives print jobs from Windows XP users/ Word 2003 and also print jobs from SAP.
What we have noticed is that from time to time some pages output with a lot of the characters on the page squeezed a lot closer to together, almost overlapping, making it all unreadable and in courier font (original font is something else).
Most of the time this doesnt happen. The printer outputs approx 600 pages per day
Any pointers on this one appreciated!

Hi guys, the solution to all your problems (I have the same printer) is:
1. Go to system preferences, printers & scanners
2. Delete the current Laserjet 2100 printer using the minus sign below the list of printers
3. Use the plus sign to add the printer again but this time:
4. Name the printer what you like, location as well or leave that blank
5. In the "Use" field, choose "Generic PCL Printer"
whats going on is:
- the HP driver is only valid for OS X 10.7 as the latest os it supports
- the driver does default to PostScript level 2 which is what the printer has
- mavericks is attempting to send the printer postscript level 3 which the printer can't understand, the printer is too old
- I can't find a way of forcing mavericks to use postscript level 2, even if choosing the "Generic Postscript Printer" driver
LImitations of the generic PCL driver is that you can only get it to do a max of 600 DPI, so graphics will look yuck if you're used to 1200DPI.

Thanks.Looks like a high voltage power supply issue with the black only. Since the laser/scanner on this model uses 1 motor for 2 colors that would eliminate the laser/scanner. Repair by a repair shop may cost more than the printer. Only suggestion I can give to is do a google search for the service manual and download it. Look for instructions for the removal of the high voltage ps and remove it and then put it back in. There is always the possibility one of the connectors has become loose and is causing the issue. HP LaserJet P1102W - no print output in Linux Mint 17.1 Cinnamon Desktop
I've just done a default install of Linux Mint 17.1 - as feared, no print output.
I'm guessing I need to install a driver - but I couldn't find anything easily on HP site, only Windows/Mac OS stuff. Are HP printers generally linux friendly? Where can I download drivers if they are? More over, I'm a total linux newbie, so any drivers need to be easily installed! I'm not currently familiar with Terminal windows and line commands!
My printer does have wireless enabled, but I have it connected via direct USB also.
Linux Mint did offer to run a diagnostic tool/debugging tool which gave a great deal of what means nothing to me. Debug output is below if it is helpful, but hoping a simple driver install will cure all ...

I have the above printer and recently purchased , after installtion this printer , i am not getting proper speed from this printer , as per manual it will print 55 pages /minulte , i am giving bulk printing , it is printing around 15 to 20 pages only , it is taking more time for spooling.

HP Laserjet 1010 paper jam issue
I know this is not specifically an Apple problem, but I have spent days searching for a solution elsewhere with no luck, so I was wondering if anyone here could help?
My HP LaserJet 1010 had some issues with printed pages not coming right through - they jammed right at the last minute when most of the page was out.
After carefully removing the sheet, the paper jam light is constantly flashing, despite there being no paper in sight. No amount of resetting, cleaning etc has any effect. Neither do the rollers move any more when it is switched on, as they are supposed to.
When I try to print, the driver program gives the error:
"Printer Error: The printer needs attention"
Any ideas for how to solve this would be much appreciated.Chances are the printer has a small bit of paper that is still jammed in it. When paper jams always try to pull in the direction of the paper path! If it tears then remove the toner cartridge to see if you can see any bits of paper inside. I have the Laserjet 1012 which is a similar design, early in it's life I had a similar issue, after removing the toner cartridge and seeing all bits of paper were gone I still got an error. I then removed the top cover of the printer, located and removed the offending piece of paper, put it back together and now several thousands of pages later all is fine.
If that doesn't work then contact HP's support (they will reply to an email with 24 hours) or go the chat route. If you try to call because you are well out of warranty there will be charge. -
HP Laser Jet 600 m602 printing issues
Device: laserjet 600 m602
Issue: error submitting print jobs through print server or directly.
Printer can be normally pinged and managed through web UI.
However last event log entry is dated April 30 with error codes 49.2F.E3 and 49.2F.51.
Since then I have managed to upgrade firmware to latest however nothing changed.
Print job sumbitted directly from web UI reports success while nothing gets printed while printing normally generates error printing status in the job queue. Any help greatly appreciated.Hi damjano,

Basic tiger server printing to network printer issues - HELP :)
Hi everyone, Im after some help as im running out of ideas, here is my basic setup: (sorry i have rambled on a bit
current 192.168.0.x network that has ADSL, PC's HP Laserjet 5Si network printer.
Connected to that is my Tiger server with 2 lan ports, one is connected to that network and the other connected to a switch where I run all my macs - the server is a basic file and software update server.
macs connected to the server get a 192.168.2.x address and can access the internet and each other etc - all is happy.
now - I had my personal macbook pro connected directly to the first network to access the printer, works fine and fairly quickly but was unable to access the server (i imagine because the server thinks i was from the big bad internet from the .0.x range
once i connected to the other network served by the mac server i could access all the files fine but printing would not work, so i thought I would have the server access the printer as it has access to both networks and just share it to the local macs.
well when i add it and put in the 192.168.0.71 address it connects and loads the GIMP HP5si driver, but when it tried to print it takes up to 5 mins to show that its finished, but only sometimes does the printer actually fire up, and the times it did it never printed the whole page...
The only thing i can think of is that the server is trying to print to the .0.x address'ed printer but using the .2.x address range, possibly confusing the systems.., im not too familiar with all the firewall/NAT settings ,i think i have everything turned off, but its still not working..
If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated, im not sure what else to do.
Thank you for your timeThis sounds more like a protocol or a driver issue rather than an addressing issue. Which protocol is being used to connect to the printer? You mention the GIMP driver gets loaded, which I read that it's an automatic function rather than you having to manually browse to the driver.
Also, I would look at trying the Gutenprint drivers from Sourceforge rather than the included GIMP-Print.
The other thing would be to check the cups error log on the server. It could give some clues as to why the spool file is taking so long. -

I see you are trying to install and scan with the HP LaserJet M1319f MFP, but are not getting a .PDF option. Printing and scanning with the Windows 8 Operating System is described as basic. The .PDF file type should be available regardless, of the software being basic or full feature. Take a look at this HP document: How to Scan: Windows 8 to learn about the different ways to scan.
See if those methods of scanning gives you the .PDF file type.

I see by your post that you have only printed 300 pages and it is now it is showing you have less the 50 pages left.
I would like to help you resolve this issue.
Is this the original toner that shipped with the printer?
You should get approximately 1500 pages according to the specifications for what ships in the box.
The page count is based on page yield. Depending on what you were printing.
Still I believe you should have gotten more then 350 pages, unless you were printing full page pictures in black and white.

HP Color Laserjet CM1015 MFP prints colors looking like 3D while single colors print fine. I have tried several calibrations with no change. I have reset printer to factory default with no success.

Your HP Color Laserjet CM1015 MFP is a commercial product. I will suggest posting and looking in the forum for HP Business Support for a better chance at finding a prompt solution.

HP LaserJet P1505n stops printing and blocks network interface
I have been using my P1505n for over two years without any problem. But it suddenly stopped printing. The scenario is as follows:
1. The P1505n is connected to a wired home network with reserved IP address in the DHCP server.
2. The P1505n is used from Ubuntu 10.4, 11.4 , Windows XP and Windows 7 without any previous problems.
3. The last partial successful print job stopped in the middle of a page leaving the rest blank: no paper jam.
4. I have reset the printer several times: turn off + press Cancel & Go + turn on while holding the two buttons down.
5. The first reset was successful: the toner level going from 40 to 100%. The next ones may have been successfull too.
6. After each reset and also after each power-on, I can ping and access the embedded web server.
7. Whenever I send a print job, the print queue on the computer (all OS behave identically) says "printing" and stops. I can cancel/remove the jobs from Ubuntu.
8. After the printer receives the print job, it silently blocks the network interface (no ping nor web) and doesn't print anything. No movementsm no LED blinking either: just nothing happens.
What is the reason for this problem? And how do I solve it?Hi firedude007,

For further assistance, I will need to know the following information:
The version number of the Mac Operating System. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
If the printer is connected, Wireless, or USB.
If the printer is able to make copies by itself.
In the meantime, I would try the following:
Reset the printing system. Mac OS X: How to reset the printing system.
Verify and repair disk permissions. Disk Utility 12.x: Repair disk permissions.

Laserjet CM1415fnw - wireless printing extremely slow
Hello,
I've got my new CM1415fnw, set up wireless following instructions and installed OSX drivers on my Macbook. Printer is visible and manageable via HP utility, test page is printing extremely fast.
The problem is, everything EXCEPT a test page is printing HIDEOUSLY slow - like 5 to 7 minutes after you sent anything to print, the printer finaly starts printing it... And if you're printing a multi-page document, it actually takes 5 to seven minutes for EVERY page to start printing!
Obviously, something must be very wrong with this shiny new printer printing at cool speed of 8-10 pages PER HOUR, where my old Photosmart C7100 was happily printing about the same number of pages per minute? All wireless setting are the same in both cases, and as I already mentioned printer is visible and accessible, and test page prints blazingly fast. It's just that except for test page printing this device is pretty much useless at the moment...
Are there any hints or something I should check to identify the problem? As I'm mentioned, I'm under OSX, so Windows-based HP diagnostic tools are not much help...Hello I just bought this printer a few days ago and set it up and have noticed the same problems with extremely slow network printing through the wireless. I have a 70 meg down fast internet connection & a Belkin 450n db wireless router. When I print photos it takes almost a half an hour for the photos to come through the network and print, which seems very strange for an office LaserJet to be considered normal output. I've also look into purchasing an auto duplex accessory and extra RAM but have sadly found out that neither are an option for this model. First off I have to say shame on you HP for not offering loyal customers the option for auto duplexing and RAM upgrading. Second the print speeds on this thing are absolutely atrocious! Third, your outsourcing of customer support or tech support overseas absolutely sucks. I called up tech support and was transferred immediately to the Philippines. The wrong department received my call and then transferred me to India. I spoke with somebody who had a terrible accent and the call quality was bad on top of that so half an hour went by and he really couldn't help me with my slow network printing issues. On top of that I asked him if although duplexing an extra RAM were accessories I could purchase for this model and he couldn't figure that out he didn't have an answer. So now that I finished ranting , can anybody help me with this or is this the way this thing was made to be, slow as can be?

I will be happy to help you.
Make sure printer is connected directly to a wall outlet.
Try printing a hardware test on the printer to see if it prints slow or not.
Printing a Configuration Report. Select Method one: Print a Configuration Report from the printer control panel.
I would restart the router to see if this will resolve the issue.
Try another Ethernet cable.
If you are still having issue then test the printer by connecting the printer to the computer by a USB cable to see if it is something on the network that is causing it to slow down.
Hope this resolves your issue for printing slow over the network.

HP LaserJet M1212nf MFP Printer - Communication Failure with the scanner
Dear all,
May I kindly ask if there are any known resolutions in terms of a scanning issue with the HP LaserJet M1212nf MFP Printer?
When it starts scanning the printer only scans the up to the 3rd or 4th page, it stops in the middle of the sheet and produces an error message stating the following: Communication Failure with the scanner.
Are there any steps that may be followed in order to resolve the incident?

I see that you are experiencing a communication error during scanning of multiple pages. I would like to help, but I will need some more information to provide you with the correct steps to resolve this issue.
If you are using Windows, download and run the Print and Scan Doctor. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. Find and fix common printer problems using HP diagnostic tools for Windows?
Temporarily turn off any Antivirus Software, just to rule out any interference.
Try scanning again.
What operating system are you using?
How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer.
Mac OS X: How Do I Find Which Mac OS X Version Is on My Computer?
How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet)
What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages)
