Since installing Snow Leopard, my LaserJet printer no longer works. Spent 5 hours on the phone to Apple Support without any satisfaction. Any suggestions? I'm desperate.......

Unable to print on HP J6480 after installing Snow Leopard

After installing Snow Leopard I've been unable to print from my HP J6480. I get an error message saying to check for updates from Apple and the manufacturer. Apple shows no more updates. I've added a printer driver v2.6 from Apple, but that hasn't helped. Had no problems printing before this. Any suggestions?

Never mind. Just went to Hewlett Packard site and the suggestion was to reinstall the printer. I did so and it now works. Of course, the reinstall wiped out other printers I had on there....Adding Snow Leopard has resulted in much more work than I thought it would be!

Help! I've spent hours researching this and can't find a solution...
I upgraded 3 Intel Macs in the house to Snow Leopard last weekend. All went differently...but all were successful. I found that the connection to my HP Officejet 7410 (connected wirelessly to 802.11g Airport Express (AEX) network) was "broken". Deleted then "re-intalled". Documents could now be printed. I then found out scan function was "broken". Figured out how to scan with new Snow Leopard "baked-in" driver and Scan tab...different, but it worked.
Then, tonight, on the eve of my birthday, I was given the green light to purchase an Airport Extreme 802.11n (dual-band) base station (AEBS). I set it up and got 2.5X speed on the two 802.11n laptops in the household. Glorious! Then I went to work to ensure print and scan functions were still operational. Tried to re-connect HP OJ 7410 to wireless network...when it found the network it asked for the "WEP" key (on previous AEX network I was secured utilizing WPA2/Personal)...I entered the WPA2/Personal password (same as previous network) and got the error message "Key must be 5 or 13 characters OR 10 or 26 length with 0-9 and A-F (hex)". So I turned off the wireless radio and instead plugged the 7410 into the AEBS via USB. Deleted the previous queue and re-installed. Found the printer no problem but now without the Scan tab or function anywhere...despite following all the recommendations found both on the HP site and here in the Apple Forums. I print fine. Can't for the life of me figure out what the problem with the now lost again Scan function is.
Only strangeness I can think of is the following: When setting up the network(s), I had the option of naming the 5 ghz band something different. I set mine up with the same name of the 2.4 ghz network with 5ghz in parenthesis (i.e. BobbyG and BobbyG (5 Ghz)).
Sorry for the long post but we need the scan function in the house for my wife's teaching purposes. Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated.

I get this message sorry scanner could not be initialised (scanner not Found) I tried going on HP site to re download the driver but to no avail can someone please help me this is driving me crazy.

Pages wont work after installing snow leopard

After loading Snow Leopard sometime later I discovered that I can't open pages.

How did you install Pages? Copying from another hard drive doesn't work as a rule. It is best to reinstall from the original media.

External Combo Drive doesn't work after installing Snow Leopard

This Mini was bought used with a defective combo drive. I purchased a "No-Brand" external Combo Drive (USB connected and powered) off eBay. Everything worked fine under Leopard. I used the external drive to install Snow leopard but could not eject the DVD at the completion of the installation process. I manually ejected the DVD and discovered the external drive now doesn't work with either DVD's or CD"s.
Any ideas what the problem is?

Midisport Uno stopped working after installing Snow Leopard

I have been happily using the midisport uno USB to connect my Roland PC-200 keyboard to my iMac.
Yesterday I installed Snow Leopard (I figured it was about time) and while MBox 2 is still fine for audio input, I'm unable to detect any midi signals via my Uno.
Nothing shows up in the ASM, even though I have re-installed the Uno and downloaded the latest driver for it (v3.4.0 for 64 bit)
I can see the lights functioning so the keyboard is sending a midi signal, but for some reason my computer cannot detect it. I have tried plugging the USB directly into the iMac (despite the fact that previously it was working fine via a USB hub)
As a control test, I plugged the Uno and the keyboard into an old Macbook - they worked first time. So the Uno and the keyboard are fine.

Many things not working after installing Snow Leopard!

Just installed Snow Leopard (10.6.3) on my 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo iMac and now I've got problems. All the dates I've added to iCal are gone. Almost all my address book contacts are gone. I can't access my Airport Express network. And my Epson Workforce 40 printer won't print. Hopefully that's all.
If anyone has any ideas on how to fix any of these problems I would very much appreciate your help.

I didn't have time machine before I upgraded so I don't have a TM backup. I think I have a bootable backup, but I'm not sure how to use it. Also, I realize I should be able to retrieve my address book and iCal, but how will this help with my printing problems and airport connectivity? Sorry to be so green, but I've never had a problem like this with an upgrade before.

Iphoto not working after installing snow leopard

My hardrive crashed while I was living in South America so I got the authorized mac dealership to put in a new one. Once I got back I was able to get all my photos and files from an external hardrive but I realized that my computer software was still 10.5.8. So I put in the Snow Leopard disk that I had bought because I realized that when they put in a new hardrive they didn't install Snow Leopard. After I installed Snow Leopard my iphoto now says "Caution The iPhoto Library folder is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have permission to make changes to it." How do I fix this? I called Mac and because I bought the computer in 2007 I do not have any applecare so that will cost me $60 and the mac authorized dealership told me to call them or buy the new iLife in hopes that the problem will be fixed.

Built-in cam no longer works after installing snow leapord

Since I upgraded to Snow Leopard on my MBP, my built in cam is no longer recognized by the system. It's not application specific as I've tried several apps and I've looked at the System Profiler app and it's not listed in there.
I've tried several potential fixes and none have worked. I've tried the SMU thing, the PCU thing, the Permissions fix, and have updated my OS.
What can I do?

mmh! Have you actually phoned Apple or is there an Apple store near where you live?
That would be the only thing, I could think of.
And have you tried starting the machine in safe mode at all and see if that makes a difference? If so, it must be a piece of software (have you looked at QT X, as this, with a standard install, would remove QT 7.x as this is only available as "optional" install, and will then appear under applications/utilities).

Wireless printing no longer working after installing HP 2.7 update

I have been using wireless printing from my Macbook Pro (running Lion OSx 10.7.2) fine until yesterday when it just stopped working out of nowhere. OK, before you dive any more into the registry, a simple question. Did you try uninstalling iTunes, rebooting, and re-installing iTunes?
I do have an entry for 'iTunes.Application.1' (below). However, I'm sure there are many more registry entries related to iTunes. In other words, adding this entry will probably not be sufficient to restore the COM functionality.
