LaserJet Printer P2030 printer prints blurry when printing a scanned document.
I can print any document just fine but if I go to print a PDF file that was sent to me it prints fuzzy. I have tried several different PDF files and they all print fuzzy. I am running this on an XP-Pro system. Thanks

8600 all in one won't print or scan documents placed directly on glass?
I have a new Officjet 8600 All In One model N911A. I can't get it to print or scan a document placed directly on the glass. It will print and scan using the auto document feeder only.
I am working wirelessly and tried to run the HP Hardware Diagnostic Utility but it tells me the printer isn't connected to my computer. Ugh!
All I wanted to do was copy a page from a magazine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.OK, try installing this firmware. Depending on which OS you have, please select the link below:

Try to copy and scan after this update.

HP LaserJet MFP M476dw paper size mismatch when copying or scanning from ADF
We have HP Color LaserJet MFP M476dw that has an issue when copying or scanning from the ADF.
Put a single A4 sheet in the ADF and choose copy, with all settings correct & no resizing, and the output copy is moved down the page (increased top marging by a couple of inches).
My initial thoughts were a paper size issue (e.g. treating A4 as Letter or vice versa) but all settings look correct. I have even done a reset and started over and the problem remains.
If I take the original and place it on the flatbed and copy from there with all the same settings then it works fine.
There is a similar issue when scanning from the ADF. Again, scanning from the flatbed works fine.
I've tried all I can think of. Does anyone have any further suggestions? Could it be a fault in the ADF?

Why is the footer blurry when I convert my document to a PDF?
When I am viewing my document in Pages (using the Club newsletter template) my logo in the footer looks fine.
However, when I convert the document to a PDF and then view it as a PDF, the footer looks blurry, as though there are two of them.
I've tried deleting and repasting and using a different format for the logo (e.g., jpg, png), and nothing seems to work. Could it be a sizing issue? (obviously I have to shrink my logo quite a bit to get it to fit into the footer....)
Help appreciated!
Thanks! In your version of Pages, I went into layout mode, selected the footer, and enlarged it enough to cram a 180 dpi 1024x768 image into a thumb-sized image. In the Wrap Inspector, I selected make background objects selectable, and enabled in background. I turned off Object causes wrap.
I then chose Format > Advanced > Move Object to Section Master, and exported to PDF Best. At 400% enlargement in Preview, the image and footer looked normally sharp.
Here is a screen grab of that PDF footer image at 400%.

Brief blurriness when scrolling in scanned PDF
Hello all. I frequently find that when scrolling through pages in a scanned PDF, it takes a second or two for the page images to resolve; that is, they appear blurry at first and only a second or two later do they resolve into clear page images. The PDFs are about 50 pages long, in color, and were scanned at 300 dpi with moderate compression (they are about 75mb each). Is there any way to fix this? Thanks.
Could you please share the document with us?

Out of disc space when scanning documents to PC as pdf
When trying to scan documents to a pdf file on my computer (connected via a wired network), particularly with multiple pages, the scan throws up the following error message 'Out of disk space - delete unused files to free up disk space' the error code below is 4,[(3,11,0)].
I seem to be OK with a single page at low resolution in B&W - 150dpi but any more than a couple of pages at this resolution, or even a single page at higher resolution and the error message is thrown up and the file won't save. Clearly I am not out of hard disk memory as there is plenty of space and I've tried saving to several drives.
If I scan straight to a USB stick plugged into the printer it works OK but scans the documents as a photo and crops them, plus it only scans one page and then saves it.
I tried installing a patch from this forum question http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/forums/postpage/board-id/Scan but it made no difference and my windows 7 was not an upgrade from vista
Hope someone can help with this

Print outs are blurry when printing from a web page.
I have sorta a strange problem with my printer that I'm hoping someone might be able to help me with. I have an HP 895 series printer that I got from an website not long ago. I bought (remanufactured) ink cartridges for it because it looked like the ink was running out, but after I put them in the prints started to look really blurry to where it would kind of hurt my eyes to look at it. I tried cleaning around the cartridges and printer as best I could and aligned the print cartridges. The problem is that the alignment page prints ok, I even printed a word document which looked fine, but when I try to print any type of web page from firefox, it still comes out blurry. It seems as if it is still not aligned. I'm not sure if there is anything else I can try or anything I can do to correct this. I'm just wondering if anyone has some suggestions.
If it is blurry after you installed the remanufactured cartridges, then it is the cartridges. If there is a printhead cleaning utility in the print driver, then run that, it may help. The only other possibility I can think of, is if you also changed to a different type of paper, but that is less likely.

I tried 4 times to download this software for the HP 4350 TN laserjet printer and it says Incomplete download and comes within 2 or 3 seconds of the complete download and it will not finish it. It does it for EVERY Program on this page under this printer. When you try to finish the download, it will tell you that it can't download this program. WHY, I need the printer drivers for my new printer!!

Cleaning the guts of an HP B & W or Color LaserJet Printer
Hi:
I currently have an HP4M LaserJet printer...it appears to have "died" after 20 years.
I have had to do meticulous internal cleaning of it in the past, when I toner cartridge would go bad, dumping toner into the printer. With brushes, lint free cloths, etc, you could clean the inside of the printer, after removing a few items; e.g., the paper feed roller mechanisms, the fuse roller, etc. The 4M's HP User's Manual showed how to do this. If you take time to do it properly, ...and this usually requires several hours to do...you will end up with crisp clean printouts...no excess toner-speckling on the printouts.
I am considering replacing the 4M with one of the following HP Laser Printers.
HP LaserJet Pro P1102w Printer (B & W)
HP LaserJet Pro P1606dn Printer (B & W)
HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401n Printer (B & W)
HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401dne Printer (B & W)
HP laserJet Pro 200 color Printer M251nw (Color)
Am I correct that B & W is not striclty Black or White but also includes Gray-Scale like the 4M did ?
The P1102 appears to have the same (or similar) toner cartridge mechanism that the 4M did.
When you rermove it, you can see the gear mechanisms, etc....not yet sure about the fuse roller.
The Pro 400 printers look very much like the 4M externally, but I do not yet know about the internals.
The M251nw is a different animal.
It has a metal slide-out tray that holds 4 toner cartridges which appear to be "rectanglular" in shape.
Can this tray be removed by the user (for cleaning) if a cartridge dumps toner into the printer ?
Is the fuse roller accessible to the user for removal and cleaning ?
I have looked through the M251's User Manual, and this level of cleaning is not covered.
It only covers "cleaning" like an inkjet does for cleaning the printheads.
Somehow, I would think that the user should have access to the guts of the printer,
since a Tech Support person would also have to disassemble the printer for cleaning.
if this information exist, where do I find it ?
Thank you
DaleBrColors are great because they provide you with color. But the cost of ownership is a lot higher because now you have 4 color toner cartridges. With the cost of toner cartridges hovering around US$130 each, you are looking at a cost of at least $520 in toner replacement costs. Granted you won't be using all the toner across the whole page but if you print photos or images, it will deplete quickly. Plus with 4 toner cartridges inside, the cartridges are fairly small.
Cost per prints for black and white hovers around 1 to 4 cents per copy. Color prints cost around 8 to 17 cents per copy. But I read somewhere from someone worker for a company selling the toner it can cost up to 30 to 75 cents per copy for a full page of color.
So in a nutshell, it's very expensive to have color. -
MAC MINI + HP LASERJET = printing problem
Why does my HP 2100M LASERJET only print the first job? It'll print the document in seconds.
But when I try to print a 2nd job a few minutes later, it will not print. The PRINT MONITOR will STOP the job after a few minutes so I will have to click START and then it will allow the page to print.
This is quite a hassle each and every time I want to print a simple document.Yeah, that's kinda what I thought would happen.
Do you have a wired or wireless router? It will not have to be connected to the Internet to work. It will issue the printer an IP address and your Mac will be happy.
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

Hp laserjet printer p11o2w attention light in on continously
the attention light on my laserjet printer p1102w is on continouly (there is nopaper blockage) and the printer will not print. The printer is 2 years old.
Hi @flur ,
I see by your post that the attention light is continuously on and you unable to print anything. I can help you.
I would do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
You can find the blinking light pattern in this document and the solutions appropriate to the pattern you are experiencing. Blinking Lights on the HP LaserJet Pro P1102, P1102w, P1106, and P1108 Printers.
Reseat the toner and remove the paper from the paper tray and reseat the paper again.
Remove the USB cable temporarily and try and print a hardware self test on the printer. If using a USB connection.
Were you able to print the test page, or is the attention light still on?
When you turn the printer on or open the top cover, does the printer make a noise?
Are you using Genuine HP Toner?
What are the toner levels?
How is the printer connected? (USB/Wireless)
If there is anything else I can help you with, just let me know.
Have a nice day!
Thank You.

HP LaserJet printer won't work following update
I have just installed the latest Apple update for HP Laserjet printers (9 Sept 2008), and now my HP 2605dn color LaserJet printer won't work. Most applications just quit when I try to print; MS Word just hangs at the dialog box when I press Enter.
I can access the printer utility OK via the Print Preferences.
Has anybody any thoughts why this should be so, and how do I proceed to get my printer working again?
Thanks.OK, I have just answered (part of) my own question.
Re-installing the HP Laserjet package has duplicated drivers for most of the HP laserjet printers in my list of drivers. If I select the second entry of the two identical appearances of the drivers for my printers, they start working again; if I select the first appearance they don't work. So now my printers are working again.
This still doesn't explain why Software Update prompted me to re-install an already installed package. It also gives me the issue of removing all the duplicate entries from my list of drivers, unless I am prepared to live with the clutter and waste of HD space. Any thoughts about how to do this without bombing my printers again?
Thanks. -
HP Laserjet printer connected to my Airport Express?
I have bought a HP Laserjet printer and I want to connect it to my Airport express, so I can print wireless. I have my Airport express installed and connected to my router via Ethernet cabel and I the printer is connected to the Airport station by a USB cable. But my Macbook Pro can't find the printer when I search for it? What might the problem be?
Hope someone can help! The problem may be that the AirPort Express does not support your printer model. Not all printers are supported, and Apple tends to favor popular, lower priced All-in-One devices for USB support.
On your Mac....open System Preferences (gear icon on the dock)
Open Print & Scan
Click the + (plus) button at the bottom of the printer list
Hopefully, your printer model will appear. If it does, click on the name of the printer to highlight it, then click Add to install the printer at the location of the AirPort Express
Try to print. Be sure to select the correct location of your printer, as it may appear as a printer connected to your MacBook Pro and as a printer connected to the AirPort Express. You must choose the correct location to be able to print.
If your printer model does not appear when you click the + button in the steps above, about all that you can do is contact HP Support to see if they have an updated printer driver that you could download and install....that might allow the print function at the AirPort Express.
