LaserJet Printers

Can someone tell me what happened to the LaserJet Forum..?? I can't find it ...

They moved posts over from Enterprise to Consumer and there is no laserjet forum.  What I do is put Laserjet in the search box and then choose either 1 day or more when the list comes up.  I also go to the right and choose date as the sort method. If you want to post a question do the search and see under which forum most of the posts take place.  I and others have suggest to create a lasejet forum, but so far the powers to be seem reluctant to do so.

  • LaserJet Printers and Windows 10 drivers

LaserJet Customers, hp.com is experiencing Windows 10 download issues with some software bundles for LaserJet printers- If you do not find the software bundle for your printer under the Windows 10 download option for your product- check to see if there is a Windows 8.1 software download for your product and use that download instead. To check and see if your product is support in Windows 10, check this compatibiity matrix. Thank you.

Hi alternet, Sorry, I was offering a workaround to the original post about left-to-right and right-to-left gestures. @alternet: To your inquiry about Bluetooth disconnect, I had the same issue with Windows 8.1, so I do not believe the issue is specific to Windows 10. My current N700 with bluetooth works well with Windows 10 and manages to reconnect after restarting. I don't know whether it'll work for you, but I did the following and it worked: 1) Remove all previous installations of N700 on the computer, 2) Pair it up in mouse/bluetooth mode, 3) Don't touch the mouse, leave it there, 4) Restart the computer and login, 5) Make sure Bluetooth is on, 6) Move the mouse so it pairs automatically. From then onwards, the pairing would work whenever I turn on the mouse and computer. Let me know how it goes!

  • Can not have Photosmart and Laserjet printers installed on same MAC???

Since I purchased my eMac, I had a Hp Photosmart 7350. I recently purchased a Hp Laserjet 3030 to use it as a default printer. Unfortunatelly, I haven't been able to installed both printers on my eMac in a way that they work (I select which printer to use from the printer option). I can installed them individually an they work perfectly. As soon as I install the second driver, the Laserjet printer doesn't do anything and the Photosmart prints garbage.
Can anyone help me with this problem?

This is a known problem with some HP printers. You need to resolve this with HP's technical support. The forums only provide user-to-user technical support for Apple products.

  • Getting old Laserjet printers to work with Windows 7

    Hi Everyone,
For those of you, like me, that may have an old Laserjet 4, 5, or 6 I figured out how to get it to work with Windows 7!
First, new computers do not have LPTx ports. So, when you first set up your Laserjet you MUST select a USB port - this is the main problem with getting your old laserject to work on a new computer.  MY computer dispalyed USB001 and USB002. Since I have another HP printer installed using USB001, I selected USB002. You will also need a Pararellel to USB adapter cable - you can buy one on Amazon (I paid just $11.87).
Next, when selecting a printer driver  you MUST select HP, NOT Hewlett Packard. Scroll down until you find Laserjet 4,5, or 6. NOTE, if you don't see these models, click on the Windows update button in the dialog box. NOTE: This may take a few minutes to display the updated list. Again, select HP and scroll down the list of drivers until you find your model Laserjet (Laserjet 4, 5, or 6).
At this point you should be good. Just finish the install process and make sure to print out a test page.
    Good luck !

I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial printer. You can do this at http://h30499.www3.hp.com/hpeb/
    I hope this helps.

  • How to Remove & Re-Enable Web Services on LaserJet printers supporting ePrint

If your LaserJet printer has been disconnected from or failed to connect to Web Services, you may need to power cycle your printer to reconnect.  If that does not resolve the problem, you can remove web services, wait 30 seconds, then re-enable web services to re-establish your connection to ePrint and Print Apps. Note: this last step will result in a new email address being assigned to your printer.
How do I remove HP Web Services for my LaserJet printer?
Print a configuration page from your product, and locate the IP address.
At your computer, open a Web browser and type the product IP address into the address line and press Enter. The HP Embedded Web Server opens.
Click the HP Web Services tab.
Select the option to disable Web Services.
How do I enable or re-enable HP Web Services for my LaserJet printer?
To use HP ePrint, you must first enable HP Web Services.  Re-Enabling Web Services uses the same procedure as enabling the Web Services.
Print a configuration page from your product, and locate the IP address.
At your computer, open a Web browser and type the product IP address into the address line and press Enter. The HP Embedded Web Server opens.
Click the HP Web Services tab.
Select the option to enable Web Services.
When Web Services are enabled, ePrint information appears in the HP Embedded Web Server. Look for the e-mail address that is automatically assigned to the product. The product also prints an HP Web Services information sheet that contains this e-mail address and instructions
If you were unable to register your printer in www.hpeprintcenter.com within 24 hours of printing your information sheet, you must re-enable the printer code by reprinting your information sheet.  The information sheet will also provide your email address if you have forgotten it.
How do I print the Web Services Information Sheet for my LaserJet printer?
You can only add the printer to your HP ePrintCenter account within 24 hours after printing the information sheet.  You can re-print the information sheet at any time from the printer control panel.
Print a configuration page from your product, and locate the IP address.
At your computer, open a Web browser and type the product IP address into the address line. The HP Embedded Web Server opens.
Click the HP Web Services tab.
Click the Print Information Sheet button.

  • Older LaserJet printers compress PDF when printing

When I print a PDF to both a newer (LJ 4250) and an older (LJ 4m) LaserJet, the older LaserJet compresses the PDF vertically, even though page scaling is turned off.  I'm trying to print a PDF of data onto a preprinted form, and the compression is causing alignment issues.  Thoughts or solutions?

It might be your printer settings rather than adobe reader. When you get the dialog box up have a look at the prefernces next to your printer selection and make sure they are what you need. E.g. if your printer thinks it's printing out on a different paper size it my change the dimentions of the print out.

  • TCO (Total cost of ownership) of LaserJet printers

    Dear friends,
can somebody to help us with comparison of TCO at HP Laser Jet printers ?
I´am looking for something similar like THIS Excel file from competition (OKI), sorry this very interesting file is in czech only, I can´t find out it in english.
In our company we have from HP about 70% of all laser printers.
So I need some help from HP with our right decision, which new printers is for our printing volume the best.
Do you know some advice ? Thank you a lot if yes.

I do not know of published TCO information, but I would suggest contacting HP sales in your region as I would expect they would be able to provide information.  You might also try asking in the HP Business Support Forum.  The forum here is more focused on consumer level devices, the Business Support Forum is more focused on the business printers.

  • Smoking Printers - HP LaserJet P1006 and HP 1022

Users have reported smoke coming out of two printers (HP LaserJet P1006 and HP 1022) when in use and after 3-4 pages have printed. The printer also gets hot and the heat kan be felt by putting the hand over the area where the printed paper comes out. The printed paper also curls up that normally happens when the paper gets hot.
Does anyone have any idea or a solution?

What most folks identify as smoke with LaserJet printers, specifically low end Consumer laser printers is actually steam and not smoke.   As the fusing assembly heats the paper, moisture within is literally "cooked out" and will vent out of the top output sometimes appearing as smoke, but will quickly dissipate.  This is totally normal and should not be cause for concern.   There are ways to help minimize this by storing paper in an airtight container (think Tupperware) to prevent it from absorbing moisture from the air.   Many  folks believe it takes a lot of time for paper to absorb moisture, but in reality, it only takes a few hours.
Although this phenomenon can occur with all laser printers, higher end Commercial LaserJet printers include fans to help dissipate it better.  Low end LaserJet printers do not have internal fans, so it can be more noticeable.  In general, if the printer will print, all is good.  There are thermistors built in to the fusing assembly to measure heat.  Anything out of spec will prompt and error on the unit itself and will not allow the unit to print.
A good reference doc on this can be found at the following URL:
    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=110&prodSeriesId=...
Obviously, if you see real smoke (grey, white or blue) from other areas (right, left side covers) and the unit is displaying an error, this would be cause for concern.
Though I work for HP, My posts express MY opinion, and not those of HP.

  • Best printing protocol for hp Laserjet printer?

I have a small office network of 12 computers running 10.4.11 and 10.5.6 and 2 hp Laserjet printers. I have historically used Bonjour to set-up the printers, but have found that periodically the users cannot print because the printer cannot be found. This seems to happen randomly or if the ethernet is ever unplugged/plugged into the printer. I have to delete the printer and re-add it to return to normal functionality. Obviously a pain for multiple computers. I've recently explored the use of the IP printing to these same printers using "IPP', "LPD", and "HP Jetdirect Socket" and the printers IP address on the network. This set-up seems to be more resilient to changes, however, I do not know enough about the different protocols to make an educated decision on which is the best for this environment. I have found that I can print remotely when connected to the VPN through these protocols.
Can someone please advise which protocol would be best suited (and why)?
    Thanks

    Thanks.
Out of curiosity...why LDP over IPP? What is the difference? I've tried both, and can't tell a difference. Not sure if one is a newer protocol?
