Laserjet Pro 200 m276n fax not answering when in sleep mode

Hi,
We just bought a new Laserjet Pro 200 MFP M276n. When the device goes to sleep mode, it doens't recognise any incoming fax call. When the device is on, and someone tries to send us a fax, the device recognises the call, answers and receives the fax.
We tried to update the firmware to the latest version but we still have the same problem.
We use the original HP cables to connect the device to the line and when we tried to replace the device with a telephone cord, the phone rang normally. So I believe the problem is somehow on when the device is in sleep mode
Can anyone help us?

Hi @Fedias,
I understand that when the printer goes into sleep mode, it doesn't wake up to receive a fax. I can help you with this.
Check the settings for the Wake Events on the printer.
Go to setup, System Setup, Energy Settings, Auto Power Down, Wake Events, arrow down and select Fax Ring.
This should wake up the printer when a fax comes through.

Phone not ringing when in sleep mode

Over last few days have had problem with iPhone 4S not ringing when in sleep mode. I have just spoken to Apple support. I had do not disturb scheduled , but this was staying on all the time , which I hadn't realised. This is a fault which should be sorted by 7th Jan. hope this helps anyone else with same problem, as I did search this site first.

This is the exact problem i'm having right now, I don't know why it's happening, but when i have it on the desk and when it's in sleep mode, I can get phonecalls and it won't ring but it won't show up as missed calls either, if i get a voice message i'll get it if i take it out of sleep mode and let it sit with full reception for a minute.
I also lose all reception while in sleep mode.

I have the same symptoms with a 2011 iMac and my Senheiser Bluetooth headphones.
10.7.3 did not correct this bug.
I'm also using MS Messenger and notification sounds are also buffered until the headphones are switched on.

I'm currently trying the tip given in the last discussion :
"Success - in the Audio Midi Setup (Applications/Utilities) I changed the output to 2ch - 32bit Float and all the audio works well."
My headphones already had this setting, but internal speakers had 2ch - 24bit... is it a possible explanation ? Time will tell ...

You may only use the network cable (Ethernet) or Wireless as the connection to your computer(s). Both of the connections together cannot co-exist, unlike USB and Wireless, which is possible.

Scanning from HP Laserjet PRO 200 - icon does not work

get the message "scanner communication cannot be established." have checked the network and printing is working. Did have some problems with the wireless network, but now it is working, but the scanning capabilty is not. Tried to scan to file using the command on the printer/scanner but had file name and password problems. So, now I can not scan from the scanner to my PC nor can I use the "SCAN" icon to scan. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the informative post about your scanning issue with the LaserJet. When you installed, is there any errors or messages suggesting something failed or could not be completed? Have you tried updating the LaserJet's firmware?

I suggest that you perform a complete uninstall and then a Disk Cleanup on the computer. Once done, update the firmware and then install again. Let me know if this helps!

Macbook not starting when in sleep mode

So my white 13 inch macbook was in sleep mode for a couple hours and usually I just press either the enter/return button or the power/startup button to wake the computer but for the past two times, it wasn't starting up unless I held the power/startup button until it completely turned off. I then had to completely restart the computer. And that was the only way I could get it to turn on. In the past, like I said, everything worked fine when I hit the enter or power button. Has this happened to anybody else's macbooks? I guess from now on I'll pretty much always have to shutdown the mac completely when not using it.

If you read the material at those links it explains everything. It's very simple. It won't wipe the drive or lose files.
SMC: "As the name implies, it is responsible for power management of the computer. It controls backlighting, hard disk spin down, sleep and wake, some charging aspects, trackpad control, and some input/output as it relates to the computer sleeping."
These are just simple trouble shooting techniques for sleep mode issues.

Battery not charging when in sleep mode

This might sound like a dumb question but, is it normal that my shuffle does not charge when computer is in sleep mode? It's been plugged in for the last 6 hours and the amber light is still flashing. Can I change the sleep mode on my computer? surely I don't have to be working at my computer for 4 hours every time I want to charge the shuffle. thanks

You can also change your SysPrefs so that the Mac doesn't go into Sleep when you don't want it to .... for example, when you want to charge the iPod. You won't lose much by doing this; it can still be set up to shut down the display and your hard drive.
My own preference these days is to disable automatic sleep completely. If I wind up leaving for a few hours or an afternoon, I don't mind leaving it in the 'near sleep' mode that it goes into and even that happens only when I overlook putting it to sleep manually. You can do that with the remote, with the power button, or of course via the Apple Menu.

Phone does not ring when in sleep mode

I have noticed that if I attempt to make a call to my phone when it is 'asleep', i.e. a few minutes after it auto locks, then it does not ring. When I 'activate' it by pressing the home button I see those calls appearing as missed calls. Any idea why this happens?

Macbook pro early 2011 will not wake up from sleep mode

A couple of days ago, my battery died, and when I plugged in the power adapter, the light didn't come on at all to show it was charging. I tried again this morning, and it is charging just fine. I now have almost a full charge (according to the indicator lights on the side) and the sleep indicator light is slowly flashing, indicating it is in sleep mode. However when I open the laptop, the screen stays black, it doesn't come on. I have tried holding down the power button, and pressing keys on the keypad, all to no avail. Is there something I am missing? Or do I need to send it in to Apple?

HP LaserJet Pro 200 M276n

I have the printer setup behind a Cisco RV180 VPN router and I have activited the Web Service for the printer.
Problem:
1. I got the setup page opened in my browser when I typed in the domain name without specifying any port numebr of my network? It is very dangerous because it opens up to the public to make changes. I have not done anything in my router to open up port 80 for http service.
2. How can I configure the other ports for ePrint? (I have already registered my email account with the hp.com)

Thank you for posting your issue on the hp.com forums. I am unclear as to what your exact issue it. To enable web services on this particular printer, you only need go to the web services tab and click enable web services. Once you receive the claim code, then you will follow the instructions on the page that is printed from the printer.
You should not have to go into your router and change any of your router settings. You can go into your Embedded Web Service (printer) by inputting your printer ip address and accessing the web services tab and enable web services from there. Or you can enable web services from the control panel of the printer.
Again, you do not need to configure any ports for ePrint. This is done automatically by the cloud and the printer. If you are having an issue with connecting then please post what your error message is and we can help you based on that.
Registration of web services is with HP Connected and these instructions will be on the printer instruction sheet that is printed once the printer connects to the cloud.

DVD STUDIO PRO: Menu Button does not work when in Simulation mode

How can I make the MENU BUTTON work when I am playing my DVD in SIMULATION MODE? Right now nothing happens when I click on it. I want to make sure it works for the user.

Not sure I understand. Are you talking about the menu button on the remote control? If so, I think you need to check the inspector for the disk in dvdsp and make sure the correct menu is selected for this button. The behavior of the menu button can be a little tricky. If I remember correctly, it usually toggles between the menu and the track.
If you're talking about a button you've created on a menu, select the button and set the target in the spector.

Sleep light not "pulsing" when in sleep mode

Hey guys, i have a little problem with the sleep light... i don't know when this started, but i notice today, that when i put my macbook pro to sleep, the light just stays on and not "pulsing" like it used to do... is that normal?
How can i fix this?

This usually happens when you might have an application which is still running and is failing to quit. Check Activity Monitor for a list of all your processes.

HP LaserJet Pro 200 m251 won't print PDF

I have an HP Laserjet Pro 200 that will not print PDFs. The documents get stuck in the print queue and I have to delete them and restart the printer. I have reinstalled the driver and updates and reinstalled Adobe Reader and updates. Called HP and they told me to contact ADobe, but I can't find a number.

I posted this on another discussion. But here it is again.
One of the things I have experienced in the past with printing PDFs is that it would hang in the print queue. There is a manual method of deleting the print documents in the print queue. But the issue is printing PDF documents that are scanned in and has maybe highlighted text or handwritten notes on the PDF. The printer driver can render it correctly if printing the PDF as a text document. What you have to do is change it so that it prints as a PDF image instead.
To print as an image, open the PDF then click File then click Print. Click the Advanced button on the following window that pops up and select the check box "Print as image".
Now to clear your print queue will be key prior to doing this if the print job is hung in the print queue.

HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276 - not able to print black when any color is empty

Hi,
We have 2x HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276n in our office, both have firmware date code 20121026.
The problem is that when ever one of the colored toner cartridges gets empty it fails to print even black & white documents and freezes in the replace cartridge screen.
In system supplies settings it is configured to print only black when colored supplies are below very low threshold limit.
Since the printer is freezing in the warning screen and only powering it off and on helps to bring it back alive, it seems that this is a software or firmware issue. I didnt find any firmware updates for this model though.
It doesnt make any sense that it is not possible to use the printer at all when only one of colored cartridges is empty. Any thoughts on how to solve this issue are welcome.

HP LaserJet Pro 200 Color MFP M276n: not enough Memory

Hi, my new M276n printer has memory problems. Print jobs above two pages are being stopped with a "not enough memory" notification. I searched this forum and found a "temporary" fix (reset printer to default settings) and a mysteriously missing Step 3 (removed from the message). This does not help in the long run because after just 4 more prints I have the same problem again. I don't print a whole lot, mainly Amazon returns labels and information. Reset or not, the information page shows 127MB out of 256MB available memory. What is the other half used for? Questions: 1. Is there a fix?2. Will it help if I disable unneeded functionality (fax)?3. CAN I disable fax? (If so: how?)4. Is there a fix? Thanks!
