LaserJet Pro 300 M351A Wireless Accessory?

On the HP website it clearly states that my printer (HP LaserJet Pro 300 color M351) DOES have a "wireless capability" ...
This statement is to be found under the "Technical Details" section in the paragraph entitled "Connectivity and Communications":
Wireless capability - Optional, enabled with purchase of a hardware accessory
I've Googled high and low and I cannot find out:
What is meant by "a hardware accessory"
Is it a print server device? Is it a wireless usb adapter? What?
I have an urgent need to add this device to a small wirless network, but I can't figure oyt how to?
Please help - anyone?

Hi,
Wireless optionality is available with the HP Jetdirect ew2500 802.11b/g Wireless Print Server (J8021A), that can be found listed within the Supplies and Accessories section below:

  • HP laserjet Pro 300 m375nw Wireless printing is fine but "can't find scanner"

I have recently got an HP Laser Jet Pro colour MFP M375nw.
It installed perfectly on both my Win 7 laptop and on my Mac and I can print wirelessly without issues from either device or from tablets and phones.
however, when I try and scan it says it can't communicate with the printer.
When I try and run any utility (Hp print and scan doctor,  device toolbox, etc.) it says that it can't communicate with the scanner/printer.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled but am at a loss how to fix this. Any ideas please?

  • Laserjet pro 300

I installed LaserJet Pro 300 with Windows 8 and it worked great for several months.  Upgraded to 8.1 and have experienced problems everyday.  The print queue won't clear when I delete documents; starting and stopping the spooler doesn't clear the queue and shutting off the printer and restarting doesn't always work either.  Have received message from HP multiple times to Reinstall HPLJ300-400 color MFP M375-M475 -- to use this printer with Windows 8.1, you must reinstall it using the original installation media or download files.  Done, DOne and DONE!  Nothing works. . .when is this known issue going to be fixed and a patch available.

  • HP Laserjet Pro 300 won't power up fully

I've had an HP Laserjet Pro 300 for 4 months and I haven't had any issues until today.
I ran a few scans without issue and then in the middle of a scan, it just quit scanning. It seems to have lost connectivity.
I shut the printer down and attempted to re-boot it. It started booting then it quit shortly afterward and didn't finish booting. The power is up but it doesn't load fully.
I have tried rebooting the computer connected to the printer and I have unplugged the power cord and printer connection and attempted to re-boot the printer several times but it has been the same result for a couple of hours.
I also unplugged the printer for over an hour in case it was simply overheating but it wouldn't re-boot after that either.
    Any suggestions?

This is as far as it loads.

  • Can I get an HP Laserjet pro 300 Color laserjet multifunction printer to work in OSX 10.7.5.  the disk says it only supports OS.6

Help. I just purchased an HP Laserjet Pro 300 multifunction laserjet printer for a new home office. I tried to load it on my Macbook Pro which has the OSX 10.7.5 operating system and the disk says it only goes to OSX 10.6.  Do I need to return this heavy printer?

    Ditch the disk.
If the Mac is up to date with all system updates, it probably is already carrying all it needs to talk to the printer. Just open the Print & Scan perfpane in System Preferences and get the two talking (USB: plug it in, Network: type in the IP address, if the Mac hasn't discovered it already), give it a few seconds and just confirm the correct model has been chosen. Many times the printer will pop up in the list on its own accord, else use the plus ( + ) button to add manually. Holler if you need more help.

I am trying to set up a scan to email on my Laserjet pro 300 MFP M 375 and with my IP for my computer, I get as far as filling out the required forms.  All is well until I have to enter a password.  It will be rejected.  I have forgotten the password I initially used.  I would like to know how I can remedy the situation and insert a new password.  NO one seems to be able to help with this problem

Greetings , I may be able to help you with renaming your scans. Now, I was not able to find any setting that would automatically increase the scan numbers when using the Scan to Email settings. If you use the Scan to Computer option it will number them the way you are describing; Scan0001, Scan0002, ect... That being said, you are able to manually rename the scan file during the Scan to Email process. When you choose Scan then EmailThen choose you outgoing email profileYou should see a Settings button on the bottom left of the display screenScroll through options and select the one that says FilenameEdit the scan file name using the onscreen keyboard Please let me know if any of these steps resolved your issue, or if there is anything else I can do to help.  I look forward to hearing from you!  Thanks,

  • HP Laserjet PRO MFP M125nw; Wireless Driver installation problem in Win 8.1

Product name : HP Laserjet PRO MFP M125nw, product nr CZ173A
US Operating system: Dual Boot:   Win Vista home premium (32 bit) / Win 8.1 pro (32 bit)
The printer was installed under Vista in September 2014 and was and still is wireless printing and scanning without a problem.
Recently I tried to install the printer (wireless) under Win 8.1 and I downloaded the latest Full Feature software from HP.nl.
During installation the software installation package could not find the printer and installation was aborted.
I ran the printer self test / Configuration. The network Info and product info sheets were without  errors. A ping to the IP address of the printer was without a loss. The firewall indicated that HP software is accepted.
Off course I read everything on HP about this problem I followed every advice and repeatedly gave it a try. I even installed the usb cable solution ( USB was working ok) followed by your change connection instructions, but all in vain.
To my surprise HP was able to find my printer when I checked on http:// www.hp.com/cgi-bin/hpsupport/index.pl. However the printer was found in my local network as a HP Laserjet Pro M1132 multifunctional printer with product nr stars 3NW-01 which is not correct, however the found serie nr. of CNB7G3RC78 was correct.
The print and scan doctor made some changes to the software and after that I was able to print wirelessly, however the Scan doctor button did not react at all and using the program was not possible further. Starting the program again gave the same result.
Conclusion:       In Vista: HP wireless print and HP wireless Scan is working fine
In Win 8.1: HP wireless print is OK, HP wireless Scan cannot be installed !????
In Win 8.1: Windows Printer driver and Win Fax& Scan driver both wireless working ok
Remark: Reading the display is difficult in dim lit areas. The on / off button is brightly lit and this light should be used to enlighten the display instead.
A solution for the scanning problem would be appreciated.
    Kind regards
    JWAH

Hi @JWAH , and welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand you're experiencing driver issues. I'd like to help!
I would suggest Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Once it is uninstalled, I would suggest putting your system into clean boot mode within the Microsoft configuration.  You can do so by following this document: How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
Once the computer is in clean boot mode, I would suggest reinstalling the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M125/126 Series Full Software and Drivers.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Trouble initializing color laserjet Pro MFP M177fw wireless connection

color laserjet Pro MFP M177fw - Printer was working for several months, now it will not print and when you power cycle it just shows initializing... but never finishes.  Using wireless network connection to a Windows 7 pc.

    Hello,
I have provided the URL for doing a firmware update on the printer, but do it through a USB connection. Since the printer is in a error state though, it might not detect the printer to do the update. HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw.
Select your operating system, click  Submit, click the link for firmware and then click on the Download button.
I have provided some steps to try to see if we can resolve this issue.
Disconnect the USB/Network/FAX and power the printer on Standalone.
Check and remove any packaging material inside the printer and toner.
Do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue, if you haven't already.
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
If the issue persists, perform a power drain by disconnecting the power cord from the back of the printer and keeping the power button pressed for 30 seconds and in case of a power switch keep the switch in ON position for 30 seconds before reconnecting the power chord.
I can send a private message with some another step to try.
In the forum beside your handle name just click on the envelope to view it.
How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet/Wireless)
What operating system are you using?
Please let me know the outcome.
    Have a nice day!
    Thank You.

  • HELP! HP LaserJet Pro M1217nfw MFP Wireless setup

I cannot set up my HP LaserJet Pro M1217nfw MFP to print wirelessly. I do not have a router and bought this machine because I was told this printer was an easy ad hoc install. I have a MacBook that runs OS X 10.6.8.
4 hours later and I'm dying here! SO NOT HAPPY!
    Thanks in advance!

I just spent the last two days on this and have finally sorted it out. It actually isn't that hard to do but for some reason, no one has consolidated the information in one place!
First and foremost, make sure that you have all the latest and greatest firmware updates for your printer, your computer and your mobile devices.
Next, you need to connect your printer to your network via an ethernet cable, this is the only way to get in to the printer softare to configure it for your wireless network.
Navigate the printer menus on the keypad to Reports>Config Report and print this report. It will provide you with the IP adress and IPv4 address for the printer.
With the printer connected to your network and powered on, point your browser to the IP address of the printer. If this doen't work (it didn't for me) use the IPv4 address.
This will open the configuration panel for the printer and will let you configure the wireless for the printer so that it can join your wireless network. You will see various tabs across the top. Select network. Then along the left you will see wireless. Choose that. Now you should see a list of wireless networks available including your very own home network. Choose that one, enter your password and hit apply.
Disconnect the ethernet cable and you should be ready to Airprint from all devices. This worked for me, I can't imagine it won't work for all...then again...

  • HP LaserJet Pro 300 color MFP runs cleaning and Mis Prints Error with Printing above 5 pages

I have an HP Pro 300 Printer with New genuine cartridges. But when I print or make copies of multi page jobs it always comes up with a message on the screen which says "cleaning"  and then give a "Mis Printer Error".The printer is out of warranty. The Print quality is excellent but the error it gives all the time is a major problem. Has anyone solution for this? Please help! Thanks

Restoring the defaults doesnt usually purge out the memory of a printer.  You need a cold reset to complete that proceedure. Cold Reset steps:http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printing-Issues-Troubleshooting/HP-LaserJet-Pro-200-color-MFP-M276nw-Cold-reset/td-p/5060955 The video at the bottom of the first page is very helpful.

  • HP LaserJet Pro 300/400 (M375nw & M475dn) - Driver packages will not install

    Hello all,
I need some assistance with a very persistent and frustrating issue trying to get driver software packages for our LaserJet M375nw & M475dn to install correctly. We are running Windows 7 Pro x64 on HP 8300 desktop PCs.
We have these printers printing properly via our print server and the proper .inf driver but need the ability to scan to the PC. I would like to install the HP-provided software packages (which include the Scan driver & utility) but am running into the error below.
"A problem occurred while preparing to install software to your system. Please restart your computer, and run this installer again. If the problem persists, please check the product support web site for your product."
I get this error at 80% in the "preparing to install" process. I am using the latest drivers from the website for each of these models (which actually use the same package). I have tried both the Full and Basic driver package with the same results.
We have these printers installed via a static IP on the Network, not USB. I am trying to install as a Local Administrator. UAC is disabled. The PC is fully updated and doesn't have much in the way of custom software. It has SCCM client, MS SQL Native Client, Google Earth, Adobe, Trend Micro AV, OnBase, Office 2007 and Chrome installed.
Here are some of the things I've tried w/o success:
Tried installing with latest drivers from HP website
    Ran all Windows updates
Ran the Scrubber uninstaller provided in the package / Running "uninstall" executable from HP software
Disabled all non-MS startup programs/services in msconfig, disabled Antivirus, rebooted, tried to again
Restarting computer (many, many times between different troubleshooting steps)
Tried disabling "Smart Install" (though I think this only applies to USB connections)
Checked print spooler - it indeed is started/running properly
    Uninstalled all HP-branded software
Can any of you offer some help please? I'm not sure what to try next.

  • Setting up HP LaserJet Pro P1102w for wireless but can not save wireless settings

This printer worked fine on wireless with my last TWC modem/router, but I have tried for hours to set it up with a new one and it simply will not let me. USB works fine, but when I follow the instructions found here: OS X Yosemite Wireless. I choose Method three at this link: Method three: Wireless setup using a USB connection. Here is what happens after this:
    1. I downloaded the latest Apple HP drivers on my iMac (HPPrinterDrivers3.0.dmg).
    2. Clicked Apple Software Updates to ensure I had the latest.
    3. Turned on the printer
    4. Has paper and is in ready mode with no flashing lights
    5. Plugged USB from printer into iMac
    6. Followed HP instructions: Systems Preferences > Printers & Scanners > Clicked on the P1102w printer which was already on the list > Open Print Queue > Open Printer Utility > HTML Config... > Network Tab > Wireless (confirmed it was enabled, I refreshed the network names and added my wireless network, added my wireless network password) > Apply.
This is where everything crashes. After clicking Apply, the page will show up blank, the HTML will be messed up, or I will receive a message that says:
Safari can’t open the page “http://;ocalhost:5050/cgi-bin/ip_wireless_result.htm”. The error is: “cannot parse response” (NSURLErrorDomain:-1017)
I have tried other Chrome and Firefox and got similar results. At this point, I am out of options based on the HP support sites that I have found. One HP site said to uninstall the HP software located in Libraries > Printers, so I did this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi @txrun,
I see that you are experiencing issues setting up the printer on the new router. I will certainly do my best to help you.
Make sure Safari is set as the default browser. Sometime the Embedded Web Server won't open or will error out, if it isn't. Open Safari, across the top select the Safari menu, select Preferences, General, set as default.
Restore printer defaults first and then run the HTML again. You may need to delete and add the printer again into the Printers and Scanners to be able to open the HTML again.
Restore defaults: Turn the printer off, hold down the wireless button and cancel (x button) while turning the printer back on and don't release the two buttons until the printer stops making noise.
Print a configuration page to make sure the old network settings are cleared. Printing a Configuration Page.
If you are still having issues, please check these settings on the router.
The printer is only capable of sending/receiving in the 2.4Ghz band.
If it is set to 5 GHZ network you may need to change to 2.4 GHZ. (rename the 5ghz or shut it off)
The WPA key setting needs to be on AES to work correctly not TKIP.
Multi casting needs to be turned on.
Firewall on router has to have open ports for printer.
If you have Mac Filtering you need to give printer hardware address from configuration page.
You might need to contact your router company for further assistance to check those settings.
If there is anything else I can help you with, just let me know.
    Have a nice weekend!
    Thank You.

  • LaserJet Pro 400 M401n wireless problem

Provided paper instruction booklet and CD indicate that this model can connect via a WiFi home network and this is why I just purchased it. After hours of trying myself and then forever waiting for a chat window (which I gave up on) I finally searched the web for a telephone number. Rep said this model cannot do this but offered no explanation as to why it was advertised as being able to and why the documentation and CD reflect it can do, other than to say if I had purchased directly from HP, I wouldn't have had this problem. Before I waste anymore time on this, can anyone who actually KNOWS the answer tell me if this is possible and why there appears to be this problem with the documentation? Thank you so much. PS- if appears to have a wirelss button right on the control panel as well as the documenation refers to.

    Thanks David,
Since having told Verizon home phone I had had enough, I brought in a Home Router with WiFi but had to mount it in the basement where the Internet connection comes in. My office is upstairs two floors up at the other end of the house. I wanted the HP Printer to print via the Wifi so my wife (or anyone else) on other levels of the home could print to it via WiFi, as well as myself from my smart as long as I was in range.  No easy way to hard-wire Ethernet or coaxial to my office without tearing my home up and obviously impractical for me to go two floors down into the basement to retreive any print-out, which is why I chose what I believed to be a WiFi printer.
I am firm in my belief that the advertising was (surprise) inarticulate and now know that I am far from the only one who got caught in this thing. The instruction manual was for this model and the truly wireless model and was likewiese incredibly inarticulate (as seems to be the standard anymore-sadly) and this model does come with the wireless button, all of which led to understandable confusion on the point and the subsequent multiple hours of my time wasted while trying to determine the truth.
Too much of a hassle and additional time-burner to box this thing up and swap it out, I'm already hours behind. I appreciate your attempt to help and still believe there may be adapters or other solutions but I can't invest anymore time in it right now.
