  • Mail cannot access your mailbox information because it is in use

I have my mail on a Truecrypt drive and I have an alias pointing to that drive in my library and so sometimes I get this message:
"Mail cannot access your mailbox information because it is in use."
    Options are:
"Quit and rebuild Information" or "Quit"
If I rebuild then I was losing all my sent messages which is a drag and it takes a while to re-download all the messages. So what I tried was deleting the Envelope Index.lock file and then launch mail and it started up with no problems.
I think the reason this is happening is that it is possible that when I shut my computer down, Truecrypt dismounts the drive while Mail is accessing the mail folder (hence the lock file) and so when I start up again and remount the truecrypt drive that lock file is still there and I have to delete it or Mail thinks some other program is using the mail folder. Just a guess.
Hope this helps someone else if they Google this error.

I do but I do it from another computer -- that is the whole point of IMAP, by the way. I don't see how my accessing the IMAP server from another computer should cause Mail.app to think that my mailboxes on my local host, which are just copies, need to be rebuilt. I filed a bug on this and Apple gave me the annoying "Known issue" response, which means maybe they'll fix it, maybe not, thank you very much. It went away for a while, and now it's back again... sigh.

  • Mail keeps crashing because: "Mailbox cannot access your mailbox information because it's already in use."

I have the new MacBook Pro with Retina Display, and my Apple Mail has always worked just fine. About a week ago, I recieve a message saying "Mail cannot access your mailbox information because it’s already in use." The dialogue box gave me the options of "Rebuilding Mailbox Information" or quitting the application. Rebuilding does absolutely nothing, and every time I try to open Mail I get the same response and have to quit. I haven't added any apps or anything that would affect my mail; what's going on? Thanks!

  • Exchange User IP - How do I use an Impersonated Exchange Account to Access Another Mailbox

    Hey,
I am trying to use the Exchange User IP to access another mailbox using an impersonated exchange account. How do I accomplish this?
I know that the community developed Exchange Mail IP lets me do this but the activities available from that IP is not as powerful as Exchange User IP.
    Please help.

    Hi,
Have you tried to use powershell New-ManagementRoleAssignment cmdlet.

  • I have another issue. Everytime I add a new mailbox , I get an error message in owa 2010 that it cannot access the mailbox

I go into the 2008 r2 dc and add a user. The 2003 dc has all of the fsmo roles. Then I go into the exchange server and add the new mailbox through the GUI. It runs the cmdlet and creates the new mailbox without any errors. Then I go in and try to access
the mailbox through owa and cannot access the mailbox. It says the mailbox does not exist. Both my 2003 dc(which I want to decommission) and 2008 servers are replicating. I see the user object on both servers. I have the email server pointed to the 2003 dns
server as my preferred dns. This just started happenning a couple of days ago. I dont know if a windows update caused this but everything was fine before Wednesday. All of the other users can access their mailboxes through owa just any new ones I created cannot.
In fact when I send a test email to the new account, I immediately get a bounce back so I dont think I would be able to access the new mailbox through outlook.

    Hello,
I recommend you check your exchange server using windows server 2003 DC or windows server 2008 DC.
Please use repadmin /showrepl command to check DC replication status.
Please check if there is related error in application log.

  • Is it possible to know the date & time, when a form has been last accessed?

    Hi
I am using forms 6i. Is it possible to know when a form has been last accessed by any user?

Only if you implement such a feature. (Maybe writing to a table in the PRE-FORM-trigger in an autonomous transaction)

  • "Mail cannot access your mailbox information because it's already in use. Rebuild Mailbox information    Quit"  Both quits Mail.

After installing Yosemite, my Mail stops working after about 20-30 seconds when this Dialog Box pops up, freezes Mail and says:
"Mail cannot access your mailbox information because it’s already in use.
Another application on your computer or on your local network is using your mailbox information. Click Quit to quit Mail. Then log out of this computer and any other computer you’re using. After you log in again, open Mail on one computer only.
If this message reappears, there may be a network server problem. Contact your system administrator to determine if it can be resolved by rebuilding your mailbox information. Then click Rebuild Mailbox Information.
If this message reappears, there may be a network server problem. Contact your system administrator to determine if it can be resolved by rebuilding your mailbox information. Then click Rebuild Mailbox Information.
    Rebuild Mailbox information    Quit"
Clicking on either one quits Mail. I am receiving my emails. I can even send my self a test email and receive it before it freezes up in 20-30 seconds. My ISP thinks it's a "Kernal" software problem.
Through advice by a friend, I have tried:
Applications - Utililities - Disk Utilities -  and selected my hard drive and then click Repair Permissions
Rebooted a bunch of times. The first time Repair Permissions printed a few pages of stuff. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th times, it printed out this:
Repairing permissions for “Macintosh HD”User differs on “private/var/db/displaypolicyd”; should be 0; user is 244.Group differs on “private/var/db/displaypolicyd”; should be 0; group is 244.Repaired “private/var/db/displaypolicyd”
    Permissions repair complete
But I still have the same problem I stated the the beginning of this:(
    Any more advice?

I have the exact same issue, just after installing Yosemite.  Please advise

I am trying to maintain simultaneous sessions with WebLogic and another
app server. I am writing a daemon that will read thru the active
session list and check to the last activity time. Based on this and a
similar list I get from the other app server, I will "ping" the oldest
session to keep it up to date. The result is that the sessions will not
    time out prematurely.
    Clear as mud?

  • Last access date of fields in sql server table

    Hello All,
is there any queries to find last access date of all fields in sql server tables.
because in our database table having no of field, most of fields are unused from long time.we want drop those fields from tables to make the table light.
    Thanks In Advance!!!
    mastanvali shaik

    Do the fields have indexes?
In SQL Server 2005 you can use the sys.dm_db_index_usage_stats data
management view, look at the column last_user_update, you can also see when
the table was last accessed (last_user_seek and last_user_scan - do a MAX on
    them).
    SELECT
        last_user_seek = MAX(last_user_seek),
        last_user_scan = MAX(last_user_scan),
        last_user_lookup = MAX(last_user_lookup),
        last_user_update = MAX(last_user_update)
    FROM
        sys.dm_db_index_usage_stats
    WHERE
        [database_id] = DB_ID()
-- if you want to leave out system objects, uncomment the next line:
        -- AND OBJECTPROPERTY(object_id, 'IsMsShipped') = 0
    --last modified date
    select name,modify_date from sys.procedures
    order by modify_date desc

  • Determine last access of a filesystem?

I have a filesystem that I'd like to unmount if it goes unused for X amount of time. Is there a clean(ish) way to determine how long its been since a filesystem was last accessed?
I've written a script that simply lists all files on the file system, sorts by last accessed date, and compares that with the current date. It works, but I figure there has to be a more elegant solution. Plus this won't be practical if the filesystem grows substantially in size, or if the filesystem is mounted with the option noatime.

  • Last Access and Last Update Times for objects in Cache

    Hi,
We are looking to implement Tangosol cache for our one of our critical J2EE systems and I am pretty new to it. One of the requirements is to know the following timings
-Time when an object was put in a cache X (Last update of the object)
-Time when an object was last accessed in the cache X (Last access time of an object)
Is it possible to get these values through the Tangosol J2EE API?
         Thanks,

    Hi Ravi,
You can use InvocationService to access this information - an example is attached.

  • Every boot: Superblock last access time in future. HARDWARECLOCK bug?

    Hi,
Recently (about the last month or so?) every time I boot my Arch, the boot process stops with "superblock last access time in future (time1), now it is  (time2)", and a check is forced. The check never finds or corrects any error, but when I reboot it starts normally. This happens at every boot, but only some of the reboots.
The weirdest thing is what is the value of time1: I'm at GMT+8, and time2 always shows the current local time, while time1 is a bit less then 8 hours in the future.... It looks like at some point of the boot the timezones are applied in a weird way.  In rc.conf I have HARDWARECLOCK="localtime" because the windows dual-boot needs that, unfortunately. So maybe the hardware clock is first treated as "UTC" and the time zone is added, then a few seconds later it is treated as "localtime" correctly...
Is there a way to diagnose this? Check what exactly happens during the boot? Or someone has a solution?
      Cheers,
        Greg

I had a similar problem only on rare occasions though, you could try setting the last mount time with
    tune2fs -T now /dev/sda1
or what ever your hard drive partitions numbers happen to be.
Not sure if this was necessary but i also commented out the sections saving system clock in /etc/rc.shutdown
I am running on localtime and have openntpd adjusting the system clock as it seems to fall behind time if i don't, and have not had any problems since
