Last attempt or its back to the PC

I have a macbook that I havent used in ages and it has tiger installed. After the recent keynote I thought ill have another play after it renewed my interest but I have a problem.
I had a disk stuck in my cd drive, last night I removed the cd by dismantling the macbook and I thought awesome I can now restore my Macbook using the disks and then buy leopard. I inserted the tiger disk and it felt tight but I got it in there. Guess what though it wont eject now so I cant reinstall tiger as there are two disks (actually does it use both disks?)
Does anyone know how to fix this issue or am I doomed to use the macbook as a paper weight as I cant justify paying £50 for a new cd drive.

You had a disk stuck in your drive. You took apart your MacBook to get it out. You tried putting the Tiger disk in... but it "felt tight" and you "got it in there". Then you say it won't eject?
It pretty much sounds like you caused your problem. By 1) taking your machine apart and 2) forcing the install disc in when it was clear it was tight.
You should have had it repaired at an authorized service center to start with.
You can certainly bring it into Apple for repairs or purchase a new optical drive.

My "return to previous page" arrow button sometimes works and sometimes is greyed and doesn't work. Doesn't seem to be any reason or rhyme to it. I'm newly upgraded to Mavericks from Snow Leopard and it is very frustrating to have to punch out of Safari and start the web search over and over again, especially when you don't know if the "return to previous" button is going to work or not. Have pulled in a fresh forward/backward button bar from the custom toolbar sets, but that didn't fix it. Very aggravating and time consuming.

Safari freezes when attempting to go back using the wipe function of the magic mouse.

Whenever I wipe a little bit to the side on my magic mous the opened tab starts freezing when attempting to go back.
Restart didn't help and there was no system error Message.

and confirm. Test.

How do I get the last version of iTunes back? The new update is horrible

I have not been on iTunes in a while and had an update when I got back on. I went ahead and updated iTunes and have since then regretted doing so. Do I really have to delete everything on my iPod just to add a few songs? And I still buy CD's and import them into iTunes. When I look for the artist, I see alot of "Tech N9ne ft..." "Tech N9ne ft....." Tech N9ne ft..." Seriously??? I have to go through each folder just to see what song is in it and see if I want to add it. This new version of iTunes is really making me way more angry then it should. I want the old iTunes back. It was way more user friendly and easier to use for me.

Time Machine - Data created during the last week not being backed up

I've been searching through all the hints, though haven't been able to solve this problem.
Time machine backs up regularly - though every once in a while when it shows that its backing up the data; but nothing actually gets backed up. Most of the time it works by using one of the hints on the top of this forum.
However this time - I've tried everything in the hints, but am unable to get Time Machine to backup files created last week - they're there in my Documents folder but do not get backed up. New files which I create get backed up.
I think the problem can be solved if I could get time machine to do a deep traversal - but have not been able to do that
I've tried the following:
1. Booted into Safe Mode and rebooted into normal
2. Re-installed 10.6.6 combo update

I don't think you understood the question. I am having the exact same issue. I open a link in a new tab or window, for example: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/backforedrop/
When the new tab opens, I click on "reviews" to open the link: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/backforedrop/#reviews in the existing tab because I want to see the reviews for this feature. After I read the reviews, I want to go back to the main link, but the back button on my browser is greyed out, as though I was never even on the previous page. So my options are 1) Open every link I ever click on in a new tab or window, or 2) Hope the website is user friendly and attempt to navigate back to the previous page using links inserted on the current page.
You never realize how frustrating not having back button is until it happens.

Just a quick query about the iPad screen & if many people have had problems with dead pixels?
I've spent the last few days going back to the Apple store to replace my iPad, each one had a dead pixel in different locations...
And today the replacement iPad I have been given has yet another dead pixel, AND a scratch on the glass edging!
I'm trying not to be too anal about a dead pixel, but using the iPad as a photographic portfolio something like a dead pixel can be quite visible on some photos!
It does suck that the one I got today though not only has a dead pixel, but a scratched screen too... i mean, aren't they supposed to replace a new ipad with a new ipad!?

I have used Firefox for many many years....this is the first time I am now actively testing other browsers and will probably go with chrome. Why in the F would you absolutely reverse things like the right click menus and flip other things around? Last week all of my music on my i-pod classic just got erased. it was not plugged into any thing....i was listening to my music and it just cut off. now it says no music. I attempted several times to sync the music back on it, it keeps erasing itself

If you get an error that says can't backup, try moving the existing backup file to a safe location and thry again. again. You can find the location of the backup file here:

I updated my software last night and when I came back to the computer its says there was a problem and I need to restore factory settings. How do I get my photos and videos off the phone

I plugged in my phone to update to the latest software. After a while, I went back to the PC and it said there had been a problem and that I needed to restore the factory settings.
I am worried that I will lose all the photos and videos that I have on the phone. How do I get them off.
When I now plug the phone it the screen looks like when you first get it - i.e. itunes logo and asking me to plug in.

If the device has been used as designed, the pics and via taken with the device would have regularly been copied off to a computer.
The first step in the update process via iTunes on the computer is a backup.
Restore the device from the most recent backup.
If data is lost, then it is merely the fault of the user for not backing up the device or saving their data regularly.
Once the device is in recovery mode, the ONLY option is to restore.

When I try to disable cellular data in the settings for my apps it will toggle fine, but once I exit and go back in to the cellular settings its back on again all by itself.

I have been using an iPhone since I lost interest with Nokia phones. I fell in love with Apple's innovation, design and technology. However, I am beginning to lose interest wth the product as well.
I have an iPhone 5, my phone's battery can only last an hour and the phone is 7 month old. The problem started last week while I was in Argentina. I had a bad holiday due to this, as I could not make use of the technology because my phone was off most of the time and I had nowehere to charge except to go back to the hotel. I could not even share pictures on Instagram. Has anyone ever experienced such a problem? If so, why and how was the problem fixed? I am starting to engage in a debate that I have been trying to avoid with my friends. They say that Samsung is striving and I now tend to agree, and if the problem persists I will gladly join the Samsung family. They seem to make reliable phones. Sadly, I never experienced this problem with iPhone 3GS & iPhone 4S.

If you're in a country where there's an apple shop (unfortunately not mine), go check it and ask the employee about it: he's gonna check your Iphone on a "device"
I've got an iphone 5 and it's working very well with me but I have to admit that its battery lasts (slower) than my Ipad 2.
Still i can help with some tips that may improve your iohone's battery by an hour in addition (hopefully):
- close all apps by multitasking....
- do NOT keep the brightness to the max
Believe me you're gonna regret changing your phone to a samsung

I have continuously over the last 6 months struggled with syncing my iphone and ipod with itunes The app continually crashes during the picture import. AND by the way it takes 10-15 minutes before it even attempts to import photos. The screen says importing photoes but doesnt try to optimize or anything for 10 minutes. I have a 3gs with 16Gb so its not a cheap phone. I have 10Gb free. I have 6600 photoes. This is very frustrating and undermines my confidence in your products. My ipod is an ipod 4 with 16Gb also. It does the exact same thing to it. The last time, I had to import photoes a few at the time and with it taking 10-15 minutes each time for 6600 photos it is a long frustrating process. But it will import every photo a few at a time. The error message is just that itunes has stopped working. no hint as to why. AND of course, my phone is out of use for the entire time. You guys must not want to believe ur phones are a necessary tool...or maybe you dont want the consumer to believe it is. I have tried to find solutions on your website as well as through other 3rd party communities. Ultimately they were of no use. I stumbled onto my solution by accident since Im a bit of a computer geek...a semi-geek.

basically whenever I try to sync my ipod touch 4G 64GB it crashes iTunes when it begins the pictures. if im lucky ill get 4-5 on there before it stops responding. its not my system or anything im running win7x64 8GB DDR3 ram (Corsair XMS3) AMD FX Eight core processor.
It is silly that iTunes cannot add pictures to apple devices. it shatters whatever incline I may have to buy apple products. knda like the Airport Extreem router my dad bought the new firmware, caused my router to not function... why release firmware that breaks a product. -_- <-- off topic but still
