Last changes not saved??

Ok I have an issue with Flash CS 5.5
When creating content and publish the swf and then save the fla file , all seem fine.
When closing the fla and reopen it later, the last changes I made are not saved??
This happens NOT every time.
At first I thought it was me that I didn't save the document before closing, but no this really happens!!
Never had this issue anywhere, but for now my only option is to stay with CS5.
Does anyone have similair issues with 5.5?
Menno
running Win7x64,  24 GB Ram,  GTX 580

I am having similar issues with flash CS5.5.
On the stage in flash I have 4 text blocks. Instead of creating separate instances of each text block, I create one graphic and separate the text blocks into separate layers. Next I put each text block into it's own key frame while on it's own separate layer. So layer one is on frame 1. Layer 2 is on frame two and so on and so forth up until frame 4.
Now on layer two I put a blank key frame on frame 1 so that the text block for layer 2 does not show up until frame 2. Same with layer 3, and layer 4 with each text block. This is for animation purposes.
Now I'm back on the main stage and timeline. I bring in an instance of the new graphic symbol I've made. I go into my properties pallet down to the loop option and tell the graphic to play single frame and it's first frame is frame 1 then I put in a motion tween, the new motion tween NOT the classic tween. I do this so I can use some preset animations that I've created. I then drag that instance of that animation I just created a little on farther down the timeline. I then go to my properties pallet and change the frame it's supposed to play from frame 1 to frame 2. Still using the play single frame looping option. I do this until I get all 4 text blocks to come in as I need them and when I need them.
Also after each animation is done, I put in a blank key frame by hitting the F7 button to insert one after the animation is done. I've attached a screen shot of my main timeline and also a screen shot of what the inside of my graphic instance is supposed to look like when I finish editing it to look as I need to to do as I want it to do, to help explain my issue. As you can see from the image, I have several key frames inserted on a layer above the motion tweens after the motions end. At these key frames I input the frame number that the previous animation just played. This saves on layers, and saves on creating several graphics which reduces my file size because I am using the same instance of one graphic instead of instances of multiple graphics.
Now the problem is after I save the file and close it out, I then re-open the file and the graphic I just created reverts to the initial creation of said graphic. So all text blocks of my text are on frame 1, layer 1. All the layers I created, all the work I did in creating that graphic is gone. The animations are still in place, and the frame numbers for the looping option are still in place. In fact the looping option of single frame is still in place. It's the graphics that continuously revert backwards instead of staying as I've made them to be.
This also happens with drawn objects that I've converted to a graphic symbol and groups of images I've converted to a graphic symbol doing the exact same thing I did for the text blocks only using either drawings via the drawing tools in flash or bringing in bitmap images. Note this does NOT affect buttons or movie clips as far as I know. This is something that has been going on for weeks since I've upgraded to CS5.5 flash. It doesn't make sense and it should not be doing this. I had no problems like this using CS4. My clients required that I use CS5 because they were updating to CS5 so I did as requested. Now I run into this problem. It makes for extra work, my clients are not happy with this happening and I need a fix as soon as possible.
Thanks,

  • Non admin user - changes not saved (Safari settings, system prefs, etc.)

iMac, 2 users, one is administrator and other is standard user. Recently, in the non-admin user account, it has become impossible to make any changes. For example, adding an application to the the Dock, after logging out and back in next time, the application is not in the Dock any more. Also, making changes to the prefs in Safari, changes are not saved.
I noticed this after installing FireFox v4. I installed it as admin whilst in the non-admin users account. However, I don't believe that the installation of FF has anything to do with the problem, it just highlighted it. I've checked the permissions for the various directories that hold prefs info such as user/libraries/application prefs/etc. etc. and also Safari prefs. Nothing I can see that has changed in system prefs.
Any ideas on what has caused the problem (kids are known to fiddle from within the non-admin account) and any ideas on how to fix it?
    Thanks

    Hi PPRuNe,
You could try making the standard user an Admin too. To do this, make sure you are logged in to the standard user, go to System Preferences > Accounts > Standard user (you may have to unlock the padlock) > Allow user to administer this computer
This will allow changes to be made without being prompted for a password all the time.
However, if you had Parental Controls on, they probably won't work on an admin account because as an admin you have complete control over a computer, so the computer thinks there is no point in having the controls turned on. And if the kids are known to "fiddle," just think carefully!
    Hope this helps you.
    Chris.

  • Camera Raw changes not saving

Changes done in Camera Raw are not saving to be usable in PS or other programs.
    I am using CS6 with windows 7.
I accidentally took a heap of photos in jpeg. I edited them in Camera Raw - then save the changes in jpeg format but still no changes showing in PS. I have tried Save As, Done, Open image but the changes are not appearing in my PS

    Penny,
The button at bottom, "Open Image", doesn't mean "open an image in Camera Raw". It means "open the currently displayed image in a new document in Photoshop".
"Open Image" will pass the adjusted image that you are viewing, not the file itself, to Photoshop where a new document will open and contain the image. The current Camera Raw adjustments for the file it has open will simultaneously be saved and Camera Raw will close.
Hold down Shift key to see the button change to "Open Object" which will result in a new Photoshop document being opened containing a Smart Object which encloses an independant duplicate of the file and adjustments which you are currently viewing in Camera Raw. The current Camera Raw adjustments for the file it has open will simultaneously be saved and Camera Raw will close.
Hold down Option/Alt key to see the button change to "Open Copy" which is like "Open Image" except the adjustments which you are currently making in Camera Raw will only affect the image that is sent to Photoshop and adjustments will not be saved.

  • Changes not saved in any transport...

    Hi,
This is a basic question and I tried to search in the forum and google but could not find any answers. Help is appreciated.
There is an existing message mapping in PI 7.1 and I changed the assignment of two nodes. I saved and activated the change list.
But there was no prompt for a transport !! So my question is how and where will my change be saved in the DEV system which will then be transported to QA.
Any settings to be done by the BASIS / ADMIN ? Pl advise.
    thnks

    Hi,
I think I have done it correctly but its a bit different from what you are saying...
From Tools menu I chose Export Design objects and then it chose the S/w component that I was
modifying and There were 2 modes, Transport using CTS and Transport using file system and I chose CTS.
In next step of the wizard I chose " All objects of the SW component...." and then in next it created
me a transport request and then it was done. I could see a preview of the different objects
that were included in that transport.
I could see this transprt created thru menu option, Tools --> Open CTS...
Is that all ?? So once I am done and release this transport, it will be movied to QA right ?
Just want to make sure I dont mess up the existing set up !!
    thanks

  • Network changes not saved

Just hit a recent problem where any changes I make to the network settings are not saved, so for example I was adding a VPN Connection and it would appear for 2 seconds or so and disappear. I managed to capture the problem and upload it as a gif(see link below)
    http://imgur.com/kxkPd7N
As you can see, I add the connection and then it promptly disappears. I even tried to add a new location and the same error occurs, all changes to network just disappear.
The output to the console is unclear what is happening and the only error I can spot is the following
09/07/2014 10:46:27.005 WindowServer[97]: _CGXGetWindowOrderingGroup: Operation on a window 0x3d5 requiring rights 0x5 by caller System Preferences
I can't find out much about the error, only one google result comes up if search for "Operation on a window .... by caller System Preferences" which doesn't help at all.
So far I have tried everything from the following site
    http://mandarapte.com/apple/reset-rebuild-network-settings-preferences-including -ethernet-wifi-bluetooth-system-default-mac-macintosh/
Step 1 - doesn't help as I can't create a new location, Step 2 - doesn't seem to do anything other than remove order of wireless networks.
Has anyone hit the same problem?

  • Changes not saved in .fla (not only ActionScript)

Regarding the technote "ActionScript changes are not saved in
    the FLA" (
    http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_19363),
I'd like to add that this does not happen only in the ActionScript
code. I am currently integrating translation in a Flash animation
made of 30-40 .fla files, and copying foreign texts in static text
fields by means of Animation Explorer (Viewer?, I have a French
Flash version) is prone to that same behavior.
The workaround seems to be efficient, though not very
    practical.
Obviously, before you understand what is going on and search
for help on the Internet, you will lose A LOT OF time.
Like everybody, I hope this enormous bug will be addressed as
    soon as possible.

  • Timeline changes not saved-Captivate v2

(Captivate, v2, Windows XP SP2 OS)
I've been struggling with this for 2 days - I have multiple
objects on a slide and have rearranged the order of the objects on
the timeline - by dragging and by using the menu. After making the
changes, saving and closing the file, when I reopen it, the objects
have reverted to the original order.
After changing the order of objects on the timeline, the new
order is not saved. I have tried rebooting my PC and also
reinstalling Captivate with no success. Does anyone have
    suggestions?

I've been having the same problem. I have a project with
about 100 slides, and sometimes the timeline will change the order
of the objects on several of the slides, moving objects to the top
that had been on the bottom, and vice versa. The mouse and the text
captions are the objects that seem to be affected the most. After
I've sifted through the entire project to make sure I've corrected
anything that needs to be corrected, I'll save the project, close
it out, and reopen it only to find that everything was put back the
way it was before. Sometimes after I've made my corrections to the
timeline, I'll publish or preview the project, and discover that
the objects that were misplaced on the timeline are still showing
up incorrectly even if the timeline itself is showing the changes
that I had made. Does anyone have any suggestions about
    this?

  • Unhiding menues using AMIBCP (changes not saved)

    Hi all
I'm trying to unhide som menues in a HP OEM bios for an MSI OEM board using AMIBCP, but changes I make are not seen when I flash the updated rom-file. Actually, the strange thing is that all sub-menues are allready enabled when I open up the rom-file in AMIBCP, so there must be some additional settings that needs to be made to enable sub-menues. Or is the code behind the menues not in the rom-file at all? I've flashed with AFUWIN.exe with settings: "all blocks" and "Destroy CMOS checksum" enabled. Any tips are greatly appreciated.
    I'm using the "latest" AMI-tools: "tool_8_RC1".
If anyone wants to help out, the rom-file in question can be found here (open exe-file with winrar to extract rom-file).

Out of topic: Invested in a Bios Savior the other day, sure feels good to be able to test mods without worrying about getting the system to work again.
Yeah I got tired of hotflashing chips, so I broke down a year or so and bought one myself.  Well worth it IMO, if you flash alot of BIOS's.
    Quote
BTW: how did you spot 3 offsets that had changed and how did you know they were in the Single Link Arch module? I'm just learning about bios modding.
Hexeditor compare function.  It this case the entire BIOS file 314.rom is a single file.  Inside the BIOS are the modules.  You can see the modules with MMTool.  Some of these are compressed and some are not, and you can see the order(address) they reside.  Opening both 314.roms I had and doing a hex compare and the end of the file(uncompressed) you can see the date changed and slightly above that the checksum for the whole file.  This make sense because these would have changed.  In other places though you can see big blocks of changes.  Big blocks are most likely the compressed modules changed, because if you change anything within the file it changes the whole compression algo and you get a block of "change" in the main file.  There isn't much you can get from the main file because it's compressed but if you know the location of the modules it can save you time extracting every module and looking at it.  Because of it's location from MMTool and it's real world function I decided Arch BIOS was the module to extract from each 314.rom to compare.  Opening that in hex compare function and you get those 3 offsets that have changed from 00 to 01.  In most BIOS's this is a toggle of some sort.  1 on 0 off, or vice versa(it could mean show something, gray something, allow something to be changed etc)  I really have no idea what it means in this case after a short glance, but I found it weird that just opening the BIOS, doing nothing and saving it, changes so much in the AMI BIOS, this is not the case for Award.  Maybe it's normal but I would think it would be a string of change, not 3 independant changes of that nature.  I also noticed the SMBIOS was cleaned up in the "saved 314"  it has space at the end of the file deleted.  This change also makes sense.

I'm trying to unlock the "hardware monitor" sub-menu. I wan't to be able to control the sys and cpu-fans (setting other temperature thresholds and/or voltages to the fans). The "hardware monitor" checkbox is allready "enabled" when I open up the rom-file, so I'm not sure how to "really" enable it. Haven't cleared CMOS, but will do that.
Another idea I saw in there, what if you change all the supervisors in the hardware menu to user.  Perhaps that is blocking it?  Just an idea to throw around.  Also I can see you can change the temps but voltages doesn't look to have an option.  Another option to try, if you just "save" it, try "save as", or vice versa, maybe just "save as", open that file and mod it, then save(or save as).
I really don't know my AMI stuff, this might be easy then I am making it, just some ideas for you...
EDIT:  Took too long typing here at work, I see BK has the supervisor idea too (great minds think alike maybe?)  heh    , well maybe it's a good omen.

  • Time Reporting Periods page - Status change not saving

I'm a Project Server 2013 Admin and I'm trying to change the status of some time periods from Open to Closed.  When I select Closed for a few time periods and click Save, nothing happens thus my changes are not saving.  What could be causing

Yep. Try clearing your cache / cookies then re-do the configuration. If that doesn't help, use a different browser. I use IE / Firefox / Safari to configure my router. Chrome and Opera seems to run into some issues for me.
I agree but Safari too has some issues at times.  Firefox and IE would be your best bet.  and yeah, if that doesn't work, reset the router then powercycle then try again.

  • Change not saved, file lost

    Hello,
We're using Sharepoint 2013 to manage documents. I was editing a Sharepoint doc in excel and saved my work several times before finishing, however I did not check the doc back in upon completion. Instead, I created a PDF version (makes printing easier),
saved the PDF file to the same Sharepoint folder, and checked the PDF version in when I was done with it.
When I went back to the library to check in the excel version of the file, it was showing an older version of the document (from last night). I opened it, and lo and behold none of the changes I had made prior to converting the file to PDF were showing.
What happened to that file? Like I said, I saved it several times before converting to PDF, yet no copy of the changes exist on Sharepoint or locally. I disconnected from the network, opened excel locally and checked recent documents - it wasn't there. I checked
my Sharepoint recycle bin - not there. Versioning and publishing are enabled, but I was the only person working on this document. I searched the entirety of my hard drive - not there. I checked the version history - not there (last night's version is the most
    recent).
I've done this before without issue. Both files (excel and pdf) would show up in the Sharepoint library with all changes. I'm at a complete loss on this and would love/appreciate help in recovering the excel version with all my changes (otherwise I just
    lost 6 hours of work)!
    Timeline of events:
Last night@7:16PM - Save and check-in excel file.
This morning@8AM - Open and check out excel file. Make changes and periodic saves along the way.
Today@2PM - Finish changes, save, create PDF, save PDF, check in PDF version. Go back to library to check in excel version only to find that the version from 7:16PM last night is the latest excel version available.

    EDIT: Sharepoint 2013, Office 365, OS: W8.1/64

    Hello Cam,
Interesting. I'm sure nobody went into site settings and discarded changes.
I hard refreshed the site; file still not there.
I'm beginning to think it's IE11. I'm using 64-bit, and don't know how to use the 32-bit version (I'm not very savvy when it comes to this stuff). I have found a few tutorials online but I'm not sure I'm doing it correctly.
I appreciate all the help so far, Cam. At this point I've spent so much time searching for a solution I could've just redone the work! Ugh.
EDIT: Is it possible that I accidentally discarded my check out and therefore all my changes to the excel doc went unsaved? If so, wouldn't the fact that I saved my work several times prevent me from losing the changes? I'm so confused at this point!
It's odd that I have a PDF version of the document that shows ALL the changes that I made - essentially the finished product - and yet the excel document from which said PDF was created is gone!

  • Payment info changes not saved

    Hi,
I'm trying to update my billing info after getting a new card. The problem is, when I submit the info, it isn't saved but the old info of a dead card remains there. No error messages.
Tried to resolve this with a chat agent, but he was no help, as he didn't have access to payment info and he referred me to call the phone support. Have done that once and they were no help either, plus it is huge stress trying to understand the people on the phone even though I've gigged as an English to Finnish interpreter. Not going to call them again.
Since my recurring payment declined last summer I've apparently run my CC for free until I could get a new card, but I guess you guys would like to get paid something before my subscription needs renewing…
Now, is there anyone at Adobe that can either call me in Finnish or resolve my problem through written English?

    Hi lkemilai
I'm afraid we don't have Finnish support but I'll arrange for someone to email you to resolve this.
