I think it does, but I'm not sure; since I wanted MTP, I only used .x firmware long enough to save the original Creative test files (with MediaSource, not ZMME) before upgrading to 2.x. And yes, I had to li've with 2..02's shorter battery life until 2.20.05 came out.
May I ask why you want to go back to .x firmware? The only thing that will get you is the ability to use it with Win98SE/2000/Me--but only if you can install Creative drivers on every PC you use it with. MTP requires WinXP SP or 2 and WMP 0, but doesn't need any Creative software at all to work. (Microsoft has made an MTP driver for Win98SE/2000/Me, but it requires customization and may not be supported by other software. I'm tinkering a bit with the customization part right now.)
There are other pitfalls in changing Micro firmware families, in either direction--you'll lose all the files on your Micro, you'll have to install a different ZMME (and I've heard non-MTP ZMME isn't quite as full-featured as MTP ZMME), and you'll need a new plug-in for MediaSource to work.

Any fix for MacPro Fan problem caused by the last firmware update?

My macPro's fans have been going balistic on restart from sleep mode ever since I loaded that last firmware update that was supposed to address the MacPro fan control.
Any word on a fix... Is this overspeed damaging my hardware?

It is a bug in the firmware update because my MacPro never acted this way before the update was loaded...
Many have reported the problem... and some have not experienced it... Go figure.
Logic says this is not a bug. A bug with the firmware update would be universally felt, no exceptions. Firmware doesn't change its format out of the blue when it chooses to. What it does say is there are some Mac Pros that for whatever reason are not getting sufficient cooling in their position on the desk/floor, or the climate they are being used in. Since Apple does not publish the temperature limits internally for its machine, the best thing is to report this problem to AppleCare, even if the hardware test comes out negative.

It is very unlikely that a Cisco device (like an RV220W) to get Firmware updates if there is already an End of Life/End of Sale announcement. Is this for your existing RV220W, by the way?

Bug is when you choose phone book and the phone freezes on the menu and after 1 minute menu works but the second attempt to open the phone book phone freezes again. problem is present in the last firmware. I hope that the problem will be eliminated in the next firmware.
I tried also with Nokia Software Recovery Tool but without success, the phone still freezes when opening the phonebook.

Restart your AirPort Base Station or other router if that's what you have. Unplug it and allow a moment or two for it to reset before plugging it back in again.
If that does not work, try resetting your network settings: on the iPad and iPhone, tap Settings > Wi-Fi, select your network then "Forget this Network". Select the network again, provide its password, and verify you can connect.
If that does not work, Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Select your network again as above.
If that does not work, "hard reset" your AirPort Base Station, assuming you are using one and not some third party product. You will need to reconfigure it using AirPort Utility.

Also, I know that dyndns.com is no longer offering the free service (I have used it for several years), but my understanding is that $25/year gets you 30 hostnames. So for $50/year you could cover 60 different sites which is much more reasonable than a static IP address at each site. For a single site like I have, I am now using no-ip.com and updating via an IP camera on the LAN.
If enough people open a case and make a feature request for no-ip.com (or other free dynamic DNS) to be added, Cisco will likely add the option in a future firmware.

4. Press and hold the Play button while connecting the player to the USB port.
5. Continue to hold the Play button for about 0 seconds after connecting your player is connected to the USB port.
6. When the Find New Hardware dialog box appears on your computer screen, release the Play button.
7. If this is the first time a player is installed as Player Recovery Device, Windows will find a Player Recovery Device (or USB Device), and prompt you for drivers. Click on No, and select "Do not search. I will choose the driver to install". Windows will install the drivers automatically.
8. Once it is installed, you can then update the player's firmware.

I am not sure that I completely understood your question. But currently the latest firmware available for the RV042 Series is FW 4.2.2.08
If there is a particular beta firmware available the only way to get access to it is to call the Support Center and open a case. Once the engineer has troubleshot and determined that you are experiencing an issue that we currently have a beta firmware for, they will begin escalation process to get you to the team that controls that firmware.

How can i downgrade my ipod touch 2g from ios 5.0 to the last firmware?

Any status on the next one, there are quite a few suggestions out there for new features, I am just wondering when the next firmware update will be released.

We don't give out details on firmware releases. While we do continually improve firmwares and players, there is no guarantee a firmware will be released for a certain player. You didn't mention which one specifically you have, but it's something to bear in mind.

Since this router already set up for IPv6 and Dual-Stack traffic, would it be possible to give it the ability to get its IPv6 prefix from the WAN side of the router.
Example:
I have Comcast, and as long as my modem and router support IPv6, with the router also supporting DHCPv6-PD to get the /64 prefix from comcast.
I now have an RV180W so this is not an issue for me, but my father is inheriting the WRVS4400N from me and he is also on Comcast.

MbP Boot issues since last firmware upgrade

We have about 15 MacBook Pro's at work here that have been running fine. I have about in my lab area that I do testing on. Were working on getting them managed better, but at this time it's still the users job to run updates. Last week I ran apple software update on my two local MbP and things seemed ok. This week I went to re-image them to test a new image I created and troubles began. It looked like it installed the image ok but when it went to boot - just gray Apple logo. So going by standard procedure I got the gray DVD that came with it and attempted to boot up. It gave me these beeps and the light in front came on three times. I tried our white SL DVD - same thing. So I tried to boot up the second MbP from both gray and white DVD's - same issue.
So I did further testing and it seems that while our current image doesn't work, our Lion test image did. I found this odd but figured it must have been something with the last upgrade. But since all the DVD's we have don't work we didn't really know what to do. Thankfully we got our shipment of new MbP's that came with a 10.6.7 DVD. We were able to boot up and re-image the machines ok.
So in the future, how would we know an upgrade is coming that would make our old boot DVD useless? Thankfully there wasn't any emergencies I had to handle that I was able to work on this. But this was quite and odd event even for Apple.
Anyone else have these issues?
