Last one, I promise. For now...

Long story short. Went to pay my auto insurance in full for the year with my new Amex BCP to get the intro offer of $150 back. Auto insurance company doesn't accept Amex. Took a gamble and applied for Cap1 Quicksilver to get the intro offer of $100 back. Accepted with a $3000 CL, Phew! That's 5 cards in less than a year and 3 in the past week. Gardening for the foreseeable future.

I'm saving my next HP for Chase Sapphire Preferred. I heard Chase doesn't like too many new accounts so I need to wait a bit.Creditman03 wrote:

Since March I opened discover, cap 1 venture, cap 1 QS visa, penfed visa sign, sportsman guide (soft pull only), bbva Amex, and overstock(my one and only store card I'll ever get-soft pull only). I always say I'm in the garden but then I read these forums. Problem is I am in rebuilding mode and need all the new accounts I can get. For now I'm done apping for 1 year.  60k in avail credit with 0 debt shall do.

  • Last One I Promise! Inserting A Value In An Array And Shifting TheRest Over

    Last question I have, I need to know the theory behind inserting a value into an array and shifting the rest over.. I have somewhat of an idea and that is this:
    Obviously I need to use a for loop, and a temp value to hold each value until it shifts then move on to the next value? Oh and increase the size of the array by one? I'm having trouble making sense of it..
    lets say we have the same array as from before
              int[] aRay = new int[5];
              aRay[0] = 1;
              aRay[1] = 9;
              aRay[2] = 3;
              aRay[3] = 4;
    aRay[4] = 11;
    and we want to add... lets say the element 5 into the index spot of 2 is and shift 2 to 3 and 3 to 4 and 4 to 5.
    for ( int i = 0; i < aRay.length; i++) // this will move along each element of the array (so I know I need this for sure)
    Am I on the right track? thanks all

    I can do all that, the only trouble I'm having right now is what's the correct way to increase the size of the array by one more? if I try to declare 4 as 5 it gives me a runtime error because 5 is out of bounds, and rightly so, because it doesn't exist
    Once I get that, the rest will be cake

    Do I just make this a 6? or is that not the right way.. :/You can't change array sizes dynamically. You will have to make a new array of the appropriate size and copy into it. You could use copyOf: http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/util/Arrays.html#copyOf(int[],%20int)
    I hope this is purely an academic exercise, because there's no reason to do this.

  • Query to get all minutes in last one hour

    Dear All,
    I am trying to write a query that returns every minute in last one hour.
    Like now, if the time is 4:15
    The query returns;
    3:14
    3:15
    4:11
    4:12
    4:13
    4:14
    4:15
    Please suggest a logic.
    Thank you so much.
    Regards, Imran

    You can also add or subtract INTERVAL literals to or from a DATE, for example:
    SYSDATE - INTERVAL '5' MINUTE
    The result is a DATE.

  • IMAP quickly downloads mostly of messages, but stalls at the last one

    An ongoing problem. When I download IMAP emails using latest version of Apple Mail, it quickly zips through most of them, but stalls for ages at the last one.
    e.g. if there are 30 emails, it zips through emails 1-29, but just sits there for the last one. The size of the email doesn't matter. It's always the last one that stalls for ages, maybe 10-15 minutes or longer.
    Nowadays I let it run at night, and by morning everything is downloaded.
    I'm using 10.5.6 but the problem was evident in earlier versions too.
    Using Gmail IMAP. I access this Gmail account from several Mac computers, and the above problem only occurs on one of them. I've tried rebuilding the mailbox, but that does not solve the problem.
    It's not the internet speed. I have high speed ADSL2. Internet works for everything else. Remember, the first lot of emails are downloaded very fast. It's always the last one that stalls, irrespective of how small or large that last email is.

    p/s sometimes that last email can take what seems like hours. Hence, the need for me to run it at night to download overnight. Just for that last email.

    Yup, your question and Diane's answer helped me also. Tho' I had had problems before getting into the iTunes store I always managed to find a way. Today they had me blocked cold with the "Update to 10" advert no matter what I did. Other questioners are being told, incorrectly as it turns out, that they have to update their OS to accomodate iTunes 10 and upgrade to iTunes 10. I did the download which did not take up much more room on my crowded old hard drive and now I'm back in business.

  • Why do I never get an answer to any questions asked on this forum for years now? Why does Firefox Feedback not work? Why does Firefox Suggestion system not work? Why have I switched to Google Chrome (I can answer that last one).

    I keep asking questions about problems and see them posted in the "support" forum and usually with a note about how many other users have this problem. There are never any answers or replies even though some of the number for others with the problem are huge.
    As I say, I have only one answer to many questions, my last one, which is why have I switched to Google Chrome. I know the answer to that one.

    I so agree with what you say and am in exactly the same position - very sad. Was strong supporter of FF but will have to move elsewhere for my browser after many years with FF

Is this is the quality & service we boost? On visiting the store we get only one reply you may write to Apple directely. we have the similar kind of problem with iPad which is being used by my wife Mr.Neelam Vij and paid Rs.16000/- to get it replaced within a year & 6months use. so in totality we have paid Rs.28500/- + Rs. 3000/- diagnostic charges.

    Moreover, we have no information to contact whom. even the replace set has a warranty of only three month which further confirm that Apple itself is not confident wheather product will last after replacement for more then three month. Such kind of happening do not encourage anyone to recomend this product to anyone. Would appriciate a faster response to our problem if someone from Apple is going to read this email.

  • My last question for now!

    Hello there, its me again, I managed to do the next two questions on my own!! :-) I'm on the last one now, I have a solution but I feel like I'm missing the point with my code as I have had to retype similar code 3 or more times and some lines aren't even used...but if I follow the instructions they should be there. See what you think....
    The aim of this question is to develop the code for a queue which holds int
    values. The queue is based on an array and is extensible in that if an item is
    added to the queue and the queue is full and an item is added then further space is created within the queue
    for the new item. There are 6 methods which need to be provided: head() gives
    the int that is the first item in the queue without removing it, tail() gives the int that is the last
    item in the queue, add(int) adds an item to the queue, remove() removes the first item
    from the queue and returns it, queueLength() gives the number of items in the queue and
    display() displays the contents of the queue in order on System.out.
    Two constructors are also required, the first IntQueue() sets up a default
    queue with 30 elements which, when it becomes full and an item added, adds 5 extra locations to the
    end of the queue; the other constructor IntQueue(int,int) sets up a queue
    with a length given by its first argument and will add the number of locations
    given by its second argument when it is full and an item is added.
    The queue should be based on an array with the first element of the array
    holding the head of the queue. When an item is removed from the queue the
    remainder of the array should be copied forward.
    Do not worry about programming errors such as an item being removed from
    an empty queue.
    We also want you to provide a class Tester for you to test your methods.
    public class IntQueue {
    private int[] queue;
    // Remainder of instance variables
    int added =0;
    int added2=0;
    public IntQueue() {
    // Code for default constructor
    queue = new int [30];
    if (added >= queue.length) {
    int[] newArray = new int[queue.length + 5];
    System.arraycopy(queue, 0, newArray, 0, queue.length);
    queue = newArray;
    public IntQueue(int size, int increment){
    // Code for two argument constructor
    queue = new int [size];
    if (added2 >= queue.length) {
    int[] newArray2 = new int [queue.length + increment];
    System.arraycopy(queue, 0, newArray2, 0, queue.length);
    queue = newArray2;
    public int head(){
    // Code for head
    return queue[0];
    public int tail(){
    // Code for tail
    return queue[queue.length];
    public int queueLength(){
    // Code for queuelength
    return queue.length; //String.valueOf(queue.length);
    public void add(int item){
    // Code for add
    if (added >= queue.length) {
    int[] newArray = new int[queue.length + 5];
    System.arraycopy(queue, 0, newArray, 0, queue.length);
    queue = newArray;
    queue[added] = item;
    added++;
    public int remove(){
    // Code for remove
    int removed = 0;
    removed = queue[0];
    int[] newArray3 = new int[queue.length - 1];
    System.arraycopy(queue, 1, newArray3, 0, newArray3.length);
    queue = newArray3;
    return removed;
    public void display(){
    // Code for display
    for (int i = 0;i < queue.length;i++){
    System.out.println("Array queue["+
    String.valueOf(i) + "] = " + String.valueOf(queue));
    }

    int added =0;
    int added2=0;
    One error I see straight off is with your instance variables. You haven't made them instance variables! What you have above is what u do when declaring a local variable not an instance.
    Try making them instance variables! Same way you made an instance of queue!

  • Started up a new username, and don't have the info to for the last one!

    I started up a new username of apple itunes, and of course forgot the information on my last one but had purchases from it. Now I can't authorize my computer from the old one
    What can I do, I have a few movies and apps that I paid for, And I am hopeing that it isn't a complete loss. Tried going through the forget password but nothing is working. I also no longer have the email address it was set up with.
    If anyone knows what I can due please help.

    On Windows, you could use a program like Belarc Advisor.
    May I be bold enough to recommend that you, from now on, record the serial numbers of all your software in a place where you can't lose them (like a text file stored on your computer and backed up in "the cloud")?

  • HT204053 The entire family has used one itunes account for years. How do we all set up separate iCloud accounts now?

    The entire family has used one itunes account for years. How do we all set up separate iCloud accounts now? Or should we? 5 macbooks, 2 ipads, 4 iphones, 2 itouch, 2 imacs.   How does one decide what to sync, share and what not to? Green Jeans.

    You need to start by understanding the distinction between iTunes and iCloud - Apple confuse the issue by referring to 'iTunes Match' as part of iCloud. It isn't.
    You don't have to have the same login (Apple ID) for iTunes and iCloud; many people don't and there's no problem about it.
    Your iCloud ID gets you email, calendars, contacts, iWork documents and PhotoStream syncing between devices.
    Your iTunes ID gets you the iTunes Store, the App Store for iOS, the Mac App Store for OSX,, 'iTunes in the Cloud' (downloading of purchased items to any logged-in device) and 'iTunes Match' (uploading of songs not purchased in the iTunes Store).
    Your family members can easily each get their own iCloud account to keep email etc. separate - in each case they will need a different non-Apple email address (a free one from Yahoo etc. would do) to set up the ID. If they are sharing a Mac they need to be using a separate user account.
    They can have their own iCloud accounts and still all sign into the same iTunes account: or they can open their own iTunes accounts using their new iCloud Apple IDs.
    BUT they cannot transfer items purchased under the present iTunes ID to different iTunes IDs.

  • One Apple ID for iTunes...dont want to share photos/contacts/calendars....now what???

    We have always just had the one Apple ID for the family....sync my iPod and the kids iPod along with my iPad.  Just upgraded to iOS 5 on my iPhone 4 and hubby's iPhone 4....now our calendars have merged.  We dont mind sharing apps but dont want to deal with each other calendars or contacts.  Had to restore husbands phone once after upgrade bc iMessage was frozen on "waiting" ... how do I handle this when we all sync to same MacBook??

    You'll want a separate iCloud account for each user in addition to the main Apple ID used for purchases.
    Let's say you have a family of four (husband, wife, and two children). Here is what you will need:
    Main Apple ID for shared purchases in Tunes (everybody will be using this)
    iCloud (Apple ID) account for husband
    iCloud (Apple ID) account for wife
    iCloud (Apple ID) account for child 1
    iCloud (Apple ID) account for child 2
    Yes, you can have both an Apple ID and iCloud account setup on the same device.
    On each iOS device, setup the main Apple ID account for the following services:
    iCloud (Photo Stream and Backup are the only items selected here).
    Music Home Sharing
    Video Home Sharing
    Photo Stream
    Additionally, on each iOS device, add a new iCloud account (Under Mail, Contacts, Calendar) that is unique to each user for the following services:
    Mail (if using @me.com)
    Contacts
    Calendars
    Reminders
    Bookmarks
    Notes
    Find My iPhone
    Messages
    Find Friends
    FaceTime
    On your individual Macs (or Mac accounts), use the main Apple ID in iTunes. Then, use the unique iCloud account in/for iCloud.
    Now that everbody is using separate iCloud accounts for your contacts, calendars, and other things, it will be all be kept separate.
    The only thing that is now 'shared' would be iTunes content (apps and other purchases), backups via iCloud (if enabled), and Photo Stream (if enabled).

    I have been using one apple ID for my family as it makes it easier to manage itunes purchases/rentals on all of our devices.  Now that my kids are getting old and my wife has recently purchased an Iphone, I can see that I need to change my strategy. I plan to add a few more iphones to the family very soon.  What is your recommendation to manage all of our devices (iphones, itouch, apple tv) for my family?  Can I continue to function with one apple ID or is it time to take the leep into attempting to manage multi-apple ID's?

    There's a few ways of managing multiple devices on a single computer (and keeping seperate content on each). The following document is worth checking through:
