Last played from itouch to itunes

Hi,
Ive listened to a lot of songs on my Itouch 2nd gen 16gb and when I connect it to my pc it doesn't update anything (last played, play count etc) in my music library on itunes. Anyone know how to get it to update. Right now on my touch i have songs from 3/11/09 but when i tell it to sync it doesn't and my last song on the itunes music library says 3/04/09
I have it set to Manually manage ipod. When I set it to Automatic it erases everything from my touch and then I have to go back and put it all back on , so I dont do that.
Thanks

i believe this is a defect introduced with v2.2.1. it used to work for me before i upgraded. secondly, i have a classic and shuffle - both are managed manually and both update the play count / last played.

Can anyone help transfer songs from itouch to itunes?
Stupidly I deleted all my music from my laptops music folder: I was doing a spring clean and wrongly thought that all the music was duplicated stored in itunes itself.
Anyway I have all my music on my ipod touch I need now to reverse sync this music back to my itunes.
I know that the solution is to transfer from my itouch>my laptop>my itunes library.
The problem I have is that my computer is not recognising my itouch; it is however showing up in the itunes programme, but not under my computer.
Does anyone know how I should proceed.

Try uninstalling iTunes from your computer, then re-installing it. Then once loaded back on (it still won't have your songs), click on  the iTunes Store and log in. Then plug in your iPod, then right-click it on the bar on the left side of the screen, then click "Transfer Purchases". It then should sync all of your songs, movies, TV shows, and Apps to your computer.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I transfer "Plays" from iTouch to new iTunes

Over the holidays, I received a new laptop with Windows 7: 64bit. I copied my entire iTunes library from my old desktop tower (still running on XP)
using a portable hardrive.. All the files had transferred just fine, but all the playlists and "Plays" were left behind. I'm fine with recreating the playlists, but several of them are "smart" playlists and rely on the Plays value as a determinant for inclusion.
    Plausible solutions and their failures:
    1) I thought Home Sharing would share the Plays value, but the connection was refused on my XP computer. I run a diagnostic and it detects internet but something is blocking it. Firewall allows iTunes and no other settings were intenionally changed. It says last known connection was in February, which was around the time I was hit with a virus. Part of the cleanup involved going into system32 to block certain sites, but nothing Apple-related. Could this be preventing connection? I have since forgotten where I go to remove the blocked sites.
    2) Simply syncing the iTouch (2nd gen, 16GB) to the W7 computer gives me a warning that the computer library will erase the library on the iTouch. It's all the same songs, but I assume the only change will be the erasure of the Plays values.
    3) Exporting a playlist of "Music" from iTouch will export a .txt file with a list of songs that inclused a Plays value for each song. However, importing the playlist simply creates a new list of songs and does not transfer any of the other values.
    4) I have not found a way to manually enter a Plays Value, but at this point if that was the only way, I would do it for my entire library.
    5) Would transferring the entire set of music to the "Purchased on Mike's iTouch" playlist and then doing a "Sync purchases from Mike's iTouch" work. I did that erlier and it transferred all my apps. Would it transfer Plays?

  • How can I set all of my songs to play from iCloud with iTunes Match once I've deleted the original file from my computer?

I'm sure this question has been asked and answered, but after days of looking I cannot find a solution. I would greatly appreciate any advice. I have iTunes Match and recently deleted all of my music intentionally because I plan on using iTunes Match for a good long time and I also know that I can download my files in bulk if I ever the need arose. That being said, now I am having to individually click on songs to make them play. I will get the message "The song 'x' could not be used because the orginal file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?"
Then I click "Cancel" and the song plays from iTunes Match. Is there a way to make this happen for all of my songs? Thank you in advance!

Hey I had the same problem-
The fix to solve the error was quick and easy:
-Go to My Music tab and click on the song view to show all tracks.
-Then simply organize by the iCloud Download column. (if not shown, right click the column menu)
-The songs without any sort of iCloud icon shown are the ones with the error as you mentioned.
-Select all of those and hit delete. It will then ask to delete off of iCloud but make sure to click NO.
Voila no more annoying error on every SINGLE track over and over. I felt your pain, and now we are free!

  • How do I copy music and apps from iTouch to iTunes; PC crashed.

My wife gave me my itouch for father's day- go wife!  But the old PC that I synced it to crashed; I did not create a backup.  I will in the future.  How do I back up all the music and apps on the itouch to iTunes?  I already searched to no avail.
Already authorized the new computer, and already tried to search the support site.  I cannot find the answer.
    Can someone assist?

For non-Tunes purchased music you will need a third-party program like one of those discussed here:

  • Want to Xfer songs from itouch to itunes.

I just bought windows 7 and just reinstalled itunes. I did not back up my music because I thought it was possible to transfer all of the songs on my itouch to itunes library but it seems it's not possible. It let's me transfer my purchases but only stores them in "purchased from your ipod" but I want them in my library.
And I have many songs so I do not want to have to start ripping all my CDs again. I just want everything on my itouch to be transferred onto my itunes library.
If anyone understands what to do please let me know, thanks.

the +purchased from your iPod+ list is just a (smart) playlist - if the tunes are in there, they are in your library.

  • I have a new computer, can i upload from itouch to itunes

have a new computer and wont to upload from itouch to itumes library, can i do that

Sync is only oneway, from PC to your device.  Unless you have the music on your PC, iTunes is going to wipe out what you have on your device if you are syncing to a new library.
You can only transfer Purchased music over to Itunes on your PC.

As for you own music, you may have to use a third party software.  A good Free one is called Sharepod which you can download from Download.com here:

  • HT1386 How to download music from ITouch to ITunes? It has stopped working.

When I first connected ITouch to ITunes it worked beautifully. Now it syncs the first three steps but does not add or delete music from either device. Any thoughts?
FYI - I have downloaded latest version of ITunes. I am running Windows 2007.

Refresh my memory as to what is step 3?
Does it complete the sync or freeze?
    What is Windows 2007?

  • Help! I think I've made a huge error! (songs from ITouch to ITunes)

I've been having trouble transferring songs bought on my ITouch into my Itunes on my computer.
I tried right clicking on 'My Ipod' and 'Transfer Purchases' and going to 'File' and clicking 'Transfer Purchases to My Ipod', but neither did anything. As a last ditch idea I reset my sync settings, and as a consequence have lost all the songs I downloaded on my ITouch. It wasn't many (around thirteen) but I'm left with the sickening realisation that I can't get them back.
Can anybody offer me any sort of hope, or will I have to pay for them all a second time to get them back?

Try uninstalling iTunes from your computer, then re-installing it. Then once loaded back on (it still won't have your songs), click on  the iTunes Store and log in. • Applications Will Not Transfer From iTouch To Itunes

Bassicly itunes wont transfer my recent purchases from my iTouch to its library.
I connect my iTouch, right click on it and select transfer purchases.
It starts doing it and starts going through the names of my most recent purchases. It only spends about 2-3 seconds on each name before going onto the next one.
And then it ends. It only goes through about 20 applications, its going through the names of the applications i want to move over, but it wont transfer them.
Its nothing to do with my computer being authorized, as it is with both my account and my dads, which covers all the apps.
I tried transfering my purches to my dads computer, but same problem there.
I also tried turning it off and back on. And holding the lock button & home button together until the apple icon comes up.
    But neither helped.
    I hope you can help
    Thank You
    Miguel

Yup, i was originally using one of the thin new cables, and then i tried one of the old fat cables, Neither worked.
Well there arent any transfers besides apps, although back up seems to work.
I cant restore my ipod otherwise i lose these games ive recently bought
