Last Scan Time vs Last Update Time

All,
I have been using SW to track my Server 2003 boxes as MS will be EOL of these next week. In my Inventory report I include Last Scan and Last Update.  As we migrate the boxes to Server 2012 - I had expected to see the 2003 Server OS drop off of the list but that is not happening.
I am getting current "Last Update" (7/13/2015) but the report still says the box has OS Server 2003 and I know it is Server 2012.
What am I missing and the bigger question is - This is for servers only.  Do I have confidence that my PC inventory is reflecting the correct updates in my larger inventory?
Any advice would be appreciated.

It is my understanding that the 'discovery scan' is just for the initial scan and then there is also an update scan that just checks for differences.
I have my remote collectors to search specific subnets and scan once a week. Ever since the initial scan they all show up during in the inventory. I see most of them being 'updated' in inventory according to the schedule and the timestamp but the "Last Scan Time" never changes. As such my not scanned in 30 days just continues to build up. The "Last Updated Time" gets updated correctly but nothing else.
Is this normal behavior? It doesn't seem like it is considering the Not Scanned in 30 days group exists. It wouldn't make sense for that group to exist if there was no need for a "scan" if "updates" worked just fine.

  • Loading Reporting data: "time frame" "frequency" "update times"

In a requirements package from which I am to design and build BW reporting, information has been provided on "time frame" "frequency" "update times"
Can you share your thoughts on these and how to consider them during the design/build? Examples will be very helpful. Also, how does “time basis” fit in here?
For example what is the implication when on a particular requested report, the frequency= "on demand".
If time frame = quarterly what effect will that be on “update time”?
Which of these speak to when data needs to be loaded into the BW? Which refers to when reports need to be generated? And is there a link between the two?
How is the determination on the frequency and specific time to load data for reporting purposes made?
In general, what influences the decisions on "time frame" "frequency" "update times" during the reuirements gathering phase?

There is not really a set answer for that, basically you have to listen to what your users need, and what you can offer them based on your installed base.
"Time basis" I'm not sure about, could refer to the type of timefield you are using. Transaction date, ...
Let me give you an example
Eg. Users here want there reports on wednesday morning, this is the only time that they will look at the reports.
Frequency: You can get away with loading once a week
Time frame: Because all my users will be in the system as of 5 am, I need to make sure data is ready by then. But I can't load before 1am because that is when FICO data is loading already...
Update times: we could do some updates of new plan version during the rest of the week, since they are relatively small. (although I'm not really sure what they mean with update time, sounds the same like loading frequency)

If the iPhone was hacked and unlocked via unofficial means, it has become locked again. Insert original SIM in the phone to activate with iTunes.

  • Recording a last updated time for each record in a table

    hi
i have a table with 5 columns. and the table has 100 rows of data.
i need to add a sixth column and this column should contain the last updated time of that particular row.
i am allowed to use triggers.
for example, if the 55th row undergoes a change, the 6th column's value for the 55th row should update itself with that particular time.
can any one of you come up with an optimized solution for this please ???
thanx a million in advance and best regards,
    novice DBA
    :)

    Hi,
    Here's an example:
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER table_x_biu
BEFORE INSERT OR UPDATE ON table_x
    FOR EACH ROW
    BEGIN
         :NEW.modified_dt := SYSDATE;
    END     table_x_biu
SHOW ERRORSwhere table_x is your table name, and modified_dt is the DATE column to be populated.
You won't have to specify modified_dt in any INSERT or UPDATE statements. In fact, if you do, the value you give will be ignored, and the trigger will always substitute SYSDATE.
WARNING: if you do get an error message, the line number reported will usually be relative to the first DECLARE or BEGIN statement in the trigger. For example, if I had mis-spelled SYSDATE in the example above, the error message would say there was a problem in line 2, not line 5.

  • Need to report last scan start and end times

I need a report that shows each device's last scan date, last scan start time, last scan end time, and last scan upload. I can find/create a report that shows the last scan date, but am unable to find a way to get a report that shows the start, end and upload date/time. I know that informations exists somewhere because I can see it in the "show properties - Inventory" page of each individual device. However, I don't want to go to every device and manually record this info. in a spreadsheet. Is there a way to generate a report with this info?

  • RUEI 12.1.0.3.0 - Collectors Status Okay but Last Update time not updated

    Hi all,
Under System > Status > Collectors Status
Status shows OK but Last Update Time is not updated. The last update time is frozen.
Anyone has a similar experience? Would someone help, please?
    Regards,
    Nathan

    Hi Nathan,
that seems odd indeed. would not know the cause or any sensibl explaination unless I have system details, Can you pls file an SR for this issue and upload the helpdesk file to the SR?
a helpdesk file is created under system >>maintenance>>helpdesk report
It will create a zip file that we can read in support, see the events the system is capturing, analyze your configuration. That will allow us for very quick follow up. if you want me to track it internally at Oracle pls send me the SR# in a direct mail: [email protected] -- I'm the responsible product manager for RUEI so happy to follow up on this.

Thanks for the fast replies. It works great when I test it as a sql statement but when trying to populate a datalist with it it raises the following exception:

  • Last warehouse update time on dashboards

    Hello,
I need to get information about table (dimension, cube) or complete warehouse update time. The idea is that client can see synchronization completion date on each dashboard. What is the best way to implement such functionality?
    Thanks

Here's one option. Create a physical table in the database and populate/update it as your warehouse data is updated. Use repository session variable(s) and populate via an initialisation block when a user logs on. Display the relevant session variable in a simple request on each dashboard.

    A. Diagnostic mode solution
If you have tried trouble shooting your iPod to no avail after all the steps above, chances are your iPod has a hardware problem. The iPod's built-in Diagnostic Mode is a quick and easy way to determine if you have a "bad" iPod.
You need to restart your iPod before putting it into Diagnostic Mode. Check that your hold switch is off by sliding the switch away from the headphone jack. Toggle it on and off to be safe.
Press and hold the following combination of buttons simultaneously for approximately 10 seconds to reset the iPod.
    iPod 1G to 3G: "Menu" and "Play/Pause"
iPod 4G+ (includes Photo, Nano, Video, and Mini): "Menu" and "Select"
The Apple logo will appear and you should feel the hard drive spinning up. Press and hold the following sequence of buttons:
iPod 1G to 3G: "REW", "FFW" and "Select"
iPod 4G+ (includes Photo, Nano, Video, and Mini): "Back" and "Select"
You will hear an audible chirp sound (3G models and higher) and the Apple logo should appear backwards. You are now in Diagnostic Mode. Navigate the list of tests using "REW" and "FFW". The scroll wheel will not function while in diagnostic mode. For further details on Diagnostic mode can be found at http://www.methodshop.com/mp3/ipodsupport/diagnosticmode/
Try to do the 5in1, HDD R/W and HDD scan tests. Some successful cases have been reported after the running the few tests under the Diagnostic mode. In case it does not work in your case, and the scan tests reports show some errors then it proves your iPod has a hardware problem and it needs a repairing service.

PavolI suppose you meant tables (in that tablespace)
There is no direct way where you can find this information if auditing is not enabled.
To check if insert/update/delete has been performed on table you can use function ora_rowscn to check when it was done last.

  • Time since last full charge not displaying despite full charge last night

I've had my iPhone 5 for almost a week. I noticed the battery drains quickly, did some research on the boards and realized it wasn't just me. I conditioned the battery last night, ran it out til the power shut down then charged through the night til it was 100% this morning. The battery still drains quickly and under settings > general > usage the "Time since last full charge" does not display. I know it was working over the weekend but yesterday i had the same problem before the charge (i figured it was because i hadn't charged it all the way the previous charge). Any suggestions? Location services is still set to ON for diagnostics and usage. I've tweaked a few of the notifications and location service settings so it could be something i changed, but i doubt it. Really coincidental that the usage won't display and the battery is draining like crazy.

Mine is doing the same thing now that I have updated to 6.0.1. Battery life is way worse than before the update and again the "Time since last full charge" is not displaying any statistics.
