  • Period and Fiscal Year in a report selction screen (3.1 I version of SAP.)

    Hi Team,
I have a requirement on a Zreport. Suppose if we are executing a report in the month of March (3)-fiscal year 2011 and if I select a variant and the varinat should populate period as Feb (2 period) and fiscal year as last year (2010).
In Nut shull if i am executing the report todays date the period and fiscal year in the selection screen should be 2 and 2010.
Also please note that i am working on 3.1 I version of SAP.
    Your inputs are highly appreciated.
    Thank you
    Venkatesh Billa

    Hi,
Generatlly while saing the variant for the report selection screen you can use the dynamic date calculation , where the last period and last fiscal year options are available.
Also you can choose the option of calculating the period and fiscal year in your program and can default the same on the selection screen. But I think you should check in ABAP forum for this, whether there anything in coding also.

  • The last versions of tp and r3trans executables

    Hi all,
I am upgrading the add-ons with saint s-tcode. I have an error message like this:
The import checks of your system showed that the transport tool tp or
R3trans does not have the correct version to import the OCS queue
    without errors.
Minimum version of tp:   380.03.74 (in system: 380.03.50)
Version of R3trans from: 09.03.2012 (in system: 26.10.2011)
Install the latest available versions of the transport tools tp and
R3trans (see also SAP Note 19466). Then continue with the import of the
    queue.
I have update the solman kernel with the last version (solman kernel version is downloaded with 51033508_8 file). But the versions of tp and r3trans is not still enough.
The new version of my solman system is kernel 720, support package level 114.
Also i downloaded abap kernels from sap portal. I used this kernels executables by replacing the old ones. It didnt work.

  • Correct location for SAP JCO libs

    Hi
I'm using IDM 7.0, and I am configuring the SAP ActiveSync adapter, which requires the SAP JCO jar and .so libraries. I'm on a solaris box, and I am using SAP JCO 2.1.8 (there is a more up to date version but it doesnt seem to work with IDM 7)
    I've copied sapjco.jar to <idm>/WEB-INF/lib
    I've copied librfccm.so and libsapjcorfc.so to /opt/SUNWappserver/appserver/lib
If I don't have them in this location I get very obvious error messages telling me that they are missing (when I do a 'Test Connection' from the Resources tab).
However even with the libraries here, I still get this (very similar error):
SAP HR ActiveSync: Could not initialize the SAP jCO. Please reinstall and check that the needed libraries (librfc32 and sapjcorfc) are available to Java and restart this application. ==> java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: \n
I was wondering if anyone with a working installation of the SAP ActiveSync adapter could tell me the definitive place to put these libraries. I would rather not place copies of the files all over the place.
    Thanks

    I was right all along
    .so libs go in /opt/SUNWappserver/appserver/lib
    jar files in WEB-INF/lib.
Was using the linux version instead of the solaris ones - schoolboy error on my part.

  • Versioning on SAP PI

    Hello PI gurus
I have been asked to look at versioning on PI. Specifically how we maintain multiple versions of an interface for our various Landscape rollouts and ensure that both versions can be used.  I have researched the options, run a few tests and my conclusions are below but I am looking for a second opinion and would appreciate your feedback
    Options
    1) Create a new SWCV.
According to SAPs documentation a software component version is a shipment unit for design objects in the ES Repository. You use a SWCV to group together objects that are shipped or installed together.SAP uses this approach for the majority of their standard content. You cannot copy objects between different releases of a SWCV. You have to use the Transfer Design Objects Function (ESR Menu under tools). It is a neat tool that will transfer objects only if the source objects are more recent or the target objects do not exist. You can preview the changes and it will tell you what will be updated (source version is more recent), what cannot be transferred (the target version is more recent) or what does not need to be transferred (the versions are the same).
This is appropriate for deploying different versions of a particular software package but does not allow us to actually use both versions. The majority of the ID objects refer to the interface/namespace and not the SWCV. If you try and add two identical interfaces from separate SWCV to the same Communications Component you get an error.
    2) Create a new namespace with a version number
SAP has used this approach for the NFE updates and it works.
    3) Ensure that the interface is backwards compatible.
Backwards compatibility is not always easy to achieve. The functional requirements we are given evolve over time and it may be the case that what seems to be a simple change that may not have any impact may will change significantly.
    4)  Add a version number to the object names
Not the most elegant approach but it would work.
    5) Stand up a separate PI landscape.
Not my preferred approach as it introduces additional costs, maintenance, monitoring and development. It seems to overkill.
    Summary
Using different SWCV allows new releases to be created and deployed but you can only have a single release active at any moment in time. Using Namespaces allows multiple releases to be deployed. If you look at the SWCV for NFE, SAP SLL-NFE you can see they have taken this approach. I have hecked the SAP support sites and cannot find anything on versioning.
My preferred option is number 2. Using a different namespace works but will require the calling system to update their configuration to support this.

    Dimitri,
My other concern is that there is no relationship between the versions. For example assume we have version 1 and 2 of an interface and both need to be in production for several weeks. Then, for example, the end users identify a bug that can be found in both versions. We then have to apply that fix to both versions independently. What that means is while we have both versions available we would then have dual maintenance.
I've look at versioning with SWCV and SAP have a great tool for copying code between the releases. However, from what I can see you can only configure one version in place at any one time.
Is this really the only solution.
    Regards
    Rob

  • Data transfer b/w SAP to Java using IDOC and Interface SAP Jco

    Dear Experts,
The challenging requirement we are having is, we need to create the interface for data transfer between SAP system and the Java system. The data will be transferred from SAP to java and similarly once some processing done in Java again the details needs to be transferred from Java to SAP.
For this data transferred we are planning to use IDOC process and for interface "SAP Java connector (Version 3.0.5)" we are planning to use. As per our understanding, from Java side one program needs to be written to connect with SAP as "Registered program". This registered program will appear in SAP GATEWAY automatically and using tRFC, TCP/IP connection both SAP and Java system will be connected.
In this case we are having some doubts.
    1. The data from SAP is going to be transfered from one Custom transaction (Z tcode). Once "Outbound IDOC" will get triggered and will carry the details. Now the doubt is, whether the data / details will get transfered to JAVA system automatically or we need to perform any other steps from SAP ABAP coding...(like converting in to flat file, XML file and etc) ??
    2. We are planning to install "SAP Jco" in Java server. Is this correct...??
    3. Other than SAP Jco any other softwares needs to be installed or not..??
    4. Since we are going to trigger the "outbound IDOC" from custom transaction, we are planning to develope one program in SE37. Other than this any other program we need to develop or not..??
    5. Any sample Java program for the SAP Jco version 3.0.5 to create the "Registered program" with SAP..? (e.g. SAP Listener program).?
If anybody has detailed steps or explanation please share it with us.
    Thanks in advance
    Warm Regards,
    VEL

    Hi All,
For the above mentioned issue, we implemented JCo software in JAVA system and created the JAVA program including SAP logon credential details like Client, User name, password and Language details.
When this JAVA program was compiled successfully then, that non SAP system will appear in SAP gateway Tcode.
Once non SAP system started appearing in SAP gateway that means, both SAP & Non SAP are connected automatically.

    Hi Barbara,
Flash Professional CS5.5 is a 32-bit application which can be installed on computers with either 32-bit or 64-bit operating systems.
You can purchase this by Adobe's backward Licensing policy :
" Adobe allows program members to order a current-version license but use a prior version. These members can contact Adobe Customer Service to request a serial number for the earlier version if they do not already have one. Prior-version software is available via ESD and can be purchased through standard resellers. The program member must follow all guidelines of the current-version EULA. "

  • SAP BPC NW version with SAP Dashboard Design (No Local Connection)

    Dear ALL,
I'm working on SAP BPC NW version 10.0 and I'm trying to build some dashboards on it using SAP Dashboard Design.
So, I follow some links online and I failed to proceed at the very beginning stage:
To create a "Local" connection in Excel EPM Add-in.
From the drop down box for the available connection types, I can just see Planning and Consolidation versions for both MS and NW, but nothing called "Local" as referred in those web.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Antony,
Go through the SAP Note 1730125.
Check the attached doc "SAP Business Planning and Consolidation 10.0, version for SAP NetWeaver" in the note

  • SAP JCo Clarifications

    Hi Experts,
I have installed SAP Business Connector 4.8 for one of our ECC 6 EHP 4 systems (without AS JAVA) and maintained all the settings for SAP server and listener in adapter settings. I have also maintained correct settings in SAPBC rfc in SM59. The SAPBC is working fine for the xml documents. The client also wants an external Java application to be able to call up the SAP system for business reasons. Now in help.sap.com page "http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/6f/1bd5c6a85b11d6b28500508b5d5211/content.htm" its written that "SAP JCo is automatically installed when you use SAP Business Connector or SAP Web Application Server for Java." Since I have already installed SAP BC, the JCo should have got installed automatically (I checked LD_LIBPATH, no entry for jco path there, also no classpath is set). How do I check whether this has happened or not? I am dealing with JCo as well as BC for the first time and don't have much idea about them. When the JAVA team is trying to do some work on this, they are getting the below error:
    com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (102) JCO_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: JCO.Client not connected in repository call
    at com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Repository.getVersion(JCO.java:17820)

    at com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$BasicRepository.getFunctionTemplate(JCO.java:17062)
Also, I am getting the below output for the mentioned command:
    sapqat01.putnaminv.com:ecqadm 210> java -jar /opt/sapbc48/server/packages/SAP/code/jars/static/sapjco3.jar -stdout
The java class could not be loaded. java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: (com/sap/conn/jco/rt/About) bad major version at offset=6
We are currently running jre 1.4.2, so there is a mismatch in the version in which jco was compiled. What JCO or SAP BC version should I use in this case?
    Your help is appreciated.
