Lastest flash player problems ...slow opening Farmvilles and facebook games

I have been having problems opening my Farmville page on Facebook with the flash player.....it is taking about 2-3 minutes to open it and when I try to help other people on my requests page it takes forever to do just one.   I have done all the things suggested like emptying cache and working through each issue....even thought the problem was related to the Virus protection but when I uninstalled the flash player I had no issues with helping people out but when it came time to load the game I was prompted to download the flash player and when I did it slowed everything down again...getting really frustrated.....installed the 10.3 flash player onto laptop and still am having a slow loading page......never had this problem until recently......help

When you said you cleared you cache, was that the browser, flash player, or both?  Here's the steps to clear Flash Player's:
How do I clear my Flash Player cache and settings?
You might actually just want to do a clean install to see if that helps:

  • Flash Player 10.1.82.76 and Facebook apps

In the last couple of days I have downloaded Flash Player 10.1.82.76 onto Vista Home Premium 32 bit. Every thing looks OK except FaceBook FarmVille and FrontierVille are now both in little windows not  allowing all the buttons of the games to be visible. FP 10 worked fine !  Can I somehow go back to Flash Player 10 ? Where is there a download  option ? How do I fix current problem - I have AdBlock Plus enabled though it was not a problem with FP 10 ?  Help please ...
    FarmVille works OK on www.FarmVille.com

Hi, thanks for starting your thread. I would like for you to test at this site that I will link to. I want to know if you can see the Flash logo animation (it moves right at the beginning) and it will also list what version of Flash Player you have Installed. If you use Firefox, then test with that browser also. I need the results of each browser test.
If you do not see the animation, then go to Tools, manage add ons and find the Shockwave Flash Object and make sure it is Enabled and it is version 10.1.82.76.
If you use FF, then find the SWF vs 10.1.82.76 plugin and make sure it is Enabled.
Then go to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash  Open Flash and post back all files listed there. Any file with NPSWF you will need to right click on and then click on Properties to obtain the version numbers.
Also when you post back this info, let me know what version of IE and FF that you use.
    Thanks

  • Adobe Flash Player 10 Fix for WinXP and Vista, IE7, IE8, Firefox, ect.(New Fast Fix)

(This is a possible solution for most users) I have found that inside the folder C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash (WinXP Home/Pro) (Computer > C: Drive > Windows > System32 > Macromed > Flash for Vista) there should be a file named FlashUtil10b.exe (IF NOT YOU SHOULD UPDATE AS SPECIFIED!) (or FlashUtil10a.exe or for older versions something similar depending on your version), which is the update utility for flash player. Click on this and if it updates, you will have to restart your computer. This should fix any missing files, and update you to the latest version.
On a side note to all those who read this, I downloaded and installed 5 different times, the same version, from different websites, all for the "new" flash version, and they didn't work (this also included trying to update Shockwave player itself). Apparently, going directly to the website and downloading a new version of Adobe Flash Player, and installing, doesn't uninstall the older version, (though it says it does nor does the uninstaller work directly from the website) nor fixes the problem. I assume they are aware of this problem, because they included this bug fix in revision 10b. This fix should work for those of you whom cannot view/see flash images as well. There also appears to be a bug/reference problem with the installation of IE8 giving the error "Missing Shockwave Decompression XTRA", when trying to play a Shockwave/Flash file, which seems also to affect Firefox and other browsers. It doesn't recognize that the folder or files that it needs in it, exist. I never had his problem before, until IE8 was installed. I checked which version I had in the system32 folder and found this updater built in to Adobe. Version 10a does NOT automatically update, but version 10b includes this fix. I currently had version 10a when I received this error, and began digging for a solution. Doing the update as described above fixed the problem, and updated it to version 10b.
The new flash version 10b has some new features, such as volume control, auto-updating, and several rendering options for those who may have a faster or slower computer/video card.
I found this works great for XP users but unsure of the Vista users. The process is the same  for Vista and the update should still work the same, as long as you run it as Administrator, I assume. I have this also posted on wwwdslreports.com at http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r22115254-IE-IE8-and-Adobe-Flash-Question and here http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r22361930-Adobe-Flash-Player-10-Fix-for-WinXP-IE 8-Firefox-ect. It appears to work for everyone so far. I have not heard of any problems from users with this problem running the RC (Release Canidate) for Windows 7 yet.
I hope this works to your benefit.
Please leave a reply to help Adobe and other users know if this fix worked for you or not. If not, please explain what you did, and the effects your seeing, including operating system, site of the flash file trying to view, browser type (ex. IE6, IE7, IE8, Firefox, Opera, ect.), and I will try to help you as best I can.
(I would strongly recommend those not using IE8, or Firefox 3.5, get the updated versions)
If your looking for uninstallers go to this site: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
If your looking for a true full install, you can download this developer version for Windows and Mac: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/updaters/10/flash_player_update2_flash10.zi p (44MB) (If you download this, I would recommend you still follow my instructions for the Flash Utility before restarting your computer.)

I would recommend all users having problems try the above solution first.
I have posted this on a couple of websites, and so far it has fixed everyones problems.
Firefox 3.5 Beta 4 has Adobe Flash Player coding built into the browser so that it not only loads faster but works better.
You still need to have the Adobe ActiveX plug-in and Adobe Flash Player for both browsers.
I would also recommend you download Shockwave Player 11.
IE8 has tried this as well, but it still has a couple bugs in it.
If you have IE8 or FireFox 3.5 Beta 4, and you are still having problems, then I recommend that you go to www.windowsupdate.com and get all of the latest updates (including SP3), then try this fix again.
Your auto-updater built into windows (If you even have it on) doesn't always pull down every update available for your computer. It only pulls down the manditory ones.
Sometimes you HAVE to go to the website and manually get them yourself. I recommend when you go to the website, you click on custom install and pick every last one of them to install, which includes, hardware and software fixes for your computer.
What a lot of people don't know is that when you have installed and tried all of the recommended fixes that Adobe gives you, and it still doesn't work, is that you are having registry conflicts within your Operating System (OS ex. WinXP, Vista, Linux, ect.), and that it is not the Adobe software at all.
Those are usually repaired by making sure your computer stays up to date.
The fact is the computer world is changing so rapidly that everyone can't keep up. You have to check for updates weekly.
If you fall behind on those updates, then you start having problems with your computer and/or software.
One problem then can turn into many and people get frustrated when something all the sudden just quits working.
Take a day or two at least once a month, and make sure you update and maintain your computer.
This includes disk defragmenting, disk cleanup, and making sure you have all the lastest updates.
You can get to Disk Defrag, and Disk Cleanup by going to Start, All Programs, Accessories, then to System Tools.
I would do Disk Cleanup first, then Defrag.
I hope you take this advise into consideration, and that it is very helpful for you.
If you find this useful, please come back and reply to this forum, and let everyone know so that others will be encouraged to do this.
Thanks and goodluck, from another user like you.

  • Flash Player problem on more than one PC

    Hi,
I'm a local IT admin and have an issue where four users keep having the same problem. What they say is that after a Windows update and reboot their Flash Player stops working. Uninstalling and reinstalling Flash Player fixes the issue, but they are not admins of their machines and so cannot do this. Windows updates are controlled by Group Policy here and I have no way of changing this either.
However, going on what the users have said I am not entirely sure that Windows updates is the issue. I have a users PC to test today and my last test did not produce the same result as what the users are saying (more on that step below).
Reading through some of the threads I think I have checked most solutions but please review what I have done and suggest anything I may have missed.
    OS - WinXP SP3
    Browser - IE8 32bit
Visit www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/? - flash animation doesn not appear but it does show the version information (10.2.153.1)
Is the Shockwave Flash object addon enabled - yes
    Disable all other addons
Internet Security Zone - set to medium, also reset browser settings
    Disable AV and popup software
    Updated Java
Kill bit reg change - the entry was there but deleting it made no difference
Installed Firefox and the flash player works (yet to know if this will be affected by the same issue though)
Flash Player file details in image below
So as mentioned above my last step was to remove the latest Windows updates. There were two of them applied the previous night (KB2511455 & KB2508429). I uninstalled and reinstalled Flash Player (now at version 10.2.159.1), checked it worked and reapplied the Windows updates. Rebooted but Flash Player still works. So I am unsure as to what is causing the problem; I'm expecting it to happen again but I hope by then a solution will have been found.
If you need me to test anything else, there are other machines that have the issue.
    Thanks and regards,
    Brad
Here are the details of the Flash files installed...

Thanks for your response, that file was indeed the problem. The shockwave object was looking at the older file, so I had to run the uninstaller, delete the file manually and then reinstall the latest version.
There does seem to be some reoccuring issue on some of the workstations here in my office and I'm still not quite sure the reason for it.
From my observations what seems to happen is this:
    - a new version of flash player is installed (the previous version files are left in the macromed directory)
    - all works OK for a while
    - then something triggers the Shockwave object to look at the older file and I have the instance where is says flash is installed but not working
This has just happend on a workstation upgrading from 10.2 to 10.3 this past week.
Can anyone think of a reason for this?

  • Adobe Flash Player Problem: "Movie Not Loaded"

    new user to mac.
i'm getting more and more frustrated with this computer.
what's bugging me the most right now is
i am unable to view videos on certain websites.
    rather than showing the content,
    a white box appears.
when i right click on the white box,
it says "movie not loaded" (in gray) and adobe flash player 9 (in black).
i can't click on the gray line.
when i click on the black line, it brings me to the adobe website and tells me adobe flash player 9 has been successfully installed.
i am fairly sure this has nothing to do with heavy traffic.
any insights on how to resolve this issue?
    cheers.

  • When I push to installl plugins Adobe Flash Player 10.3 comes on and runs for up to 3 hours without stopping. I cannot acces my classroom witout the plugin window popping up.

When I log onto PMI for my classroom the install plugins window comes up, I press install and the Adobe Flash Player 10.3 pops up and it has been running now for 3 hours, is this normal? I have shut it down but had the same problem when I again tried to access my online classroom. What do I do?

Hi, Sometimes users with understanding of what Adobe programs you are using will post. It doesn't happen very often.
If you had a personal computer and had problems with Flash Player then of course this Forum would be where it would be addressed.
Flash Player is used with all of the Adobe programs and when those programs are involved, then those Forums relate to Flash Player from those perspectives. Flash Player is not a standalone, that would be the Projector. Neither is Flash Player unrelated to the Adobe programs you use.
These terms: fast switching the slides, the player crashes in cases, when a progressive videostream is canceled, Tweener, the gui for the volume control before the gui is initialized, so the player try to access a null reference. It is for me impossible to develope content
told me clearly that your issue involves much more than Flash Player, debug or not.
If you can see the animation at this site and the correct version of Flash Player is displayed, then Flash Player is Installed correctly and should be working. If not, then since I'm not versed in the programs you are using and possible conflicts, I would not be the one to assist you. So your choice is to wait here on this Forum for someone that can, or take my advice and start a thread on one of the other applicable Forums.
Also you have a Mac. We have more threads that the Mac users put up than Mac helpers:-)

  • Flash player refuses to open

I am unable to view anything that requires usage of flash player. I have checked and it is installed on my Windows 8.1 and it is enabled. But am unable to view anything that requires assistance of flash player. When attempting to use, a black screen appears with the flash player icon shows in the upper left of screen telling me to download. I can click on the download icon and after it runs thru its download it tells me something I was already aware of, and that is I already have flash player downloaded. I have checked, and it is enabled. Can any one tell me what my problem might be?

The new flash player update crashes internet explorer and firefox, please send a new release to fix the problem ASAP!

ok   here's more mystery.  i just uninstalled and reinstalled flash player using the adobe uninstaller and rebooting after each step.  aqlso installed latest java.  i started looking at videos and here are the ones that worked: you tube
                                                                                           imdb
                                                                                           hulu
                                                                                           ebaumsworld
here are the ones that didn't work:    yahoo
                                                                                           msn
                                                                                           reuters
here are the ones that partially worked: the blaze (works on videos that originate from you tube, but not from news stories)
bing (work on videos from their video section - entertainment type, but not from news videos)
the common thing here seems to be that news type videos crash and entertainment type don't.  also videos seem more likely to crash on internet portals like yahoo

  • Firefox does not recongnize some downloadable file (e.g., Adobe Flash Player); instead it opens a new tab with nothing in it.

Firefox cannot download the files I want to download sometimes. For example installing Flash Player. It opens a new tab with URL "http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/mac/9.x/9.3.4/enu/AdbeRdr934_en_US_i386.pkg.zip" and title "adberdr.pkg.zip (application/zip object)" on it. It happens when I have to download some dmg or compressed files.

  • When did these flash player problems begin?

So, I had a computer running Win98 and IE6, which worked
great until Flash Player 8 autodownloaded about 4 months ago,
causing the beginning of an extreme headache. Several
communications with Adobe support (they eventually stopped
responding) over several weeks went nowhere None of the fixes
suggested by them, nor the ones here worked. Countless manhours led
me to think it was time to bite the bullet, buy a new computer. So,
as of two months ago I have a new computer running XP and IE6 with
SP2. I didn't know it until today, when I started having crashes,
but I have Flash Player 7.0.19.0. When i go to Adobe's Test page,
both Shockwave and Player windows show the animations (and no
    crash).
On certain pages, which I believe have flash content, I get
the "IE has experienced a problem and must close" message. It
specifically mentions the flash.ocx file as the offender. It is
    repeatable when visiting certain pages.
So, before I jump into the abyss of attempting to fix this, I
am wondering when these types of problems began. I have been using
Windows and IE since 1998 with no trouble until this year. I hoped
moving to a new computer would solve my Flash compatibility
problems. Could the root problem be new types of spyware, etc that
change something in the registry? Some of the fixes suggested by
Adobe were regarding keys changed in the registry. Unfortunately
those fixes didn't work (in Win98).
Finally, does anyone know if attempting to fix flash player
under XP is any easier than 98? Also, I will admit I may have
visited some sites recently that downloaded some adware, etc. Any
suggestions on cleaning that may solve the flash player problem? I
know this post is all over the map - I don't know where to begin...
    Thanks in advance, Don

  • Flash Player problem in specific website

    Hi,
A month ago, I had problems with Flash Player when accessing http://eterna.cmu.edu/content/EteRNA from my girlfriend laptop.  The chat room rendering is messy; all elements (textbox, button, title, ...) lied on each other.  The game itself didn't render at all.  The weirdest thing was that all this worked on my own laptop.  At first, I thought that maybe it was a programming problem, since this was the only website acting like this with Flash objects, but today, my girlfriend subscribed to a website where the same thing happened.
Here what I've done to solve the problem:
1- Uninstall Flash Player with the official Flash Unistaller and restarted the computer
2- Go to "about" page of Flash Player to make sure all is uninstalled
3- Install Flash v10.2 r153 and test the page (Firefox 3.6.16 and IE 8.0.16.6001.19019), nothing worked
    4- Redo step 1 and 2
5- Download and install the latest version of Chrome since it has embedded Flash Player
6- Test the page again, always the same problem
7- Redo step 1 in command line with -force option
8- Search for Macromedia Folder, files, ..., but found nothing
9- Reinstall the whole thing, always got the problem
Here is the problematic system setup:
    Vista 32 bits
    Firefox 3.6.16
    IE 8.0.16.6001.19019
    Chrome 10.0.648.204
I am a little desperate here, please help
    Thanks

Well, I get rid of the problem by first uninstall Flash Player with the official uninstaller and by following the procedure "Adobe Flash Player Manual Removal Instructions"
at http://www.finaluninstaller.com/blog/ut/how-to-uninstall-adobe-flash-player.html.  Since the procedure is meant for Windows XP, I had to search for additionnal folder location for Vista.  In section 3, "C:\Documents and  Settings\Administrator\Application Data\" should be replace by "C:\Users\[your user profile]\AppData\Local", "C:\Users\[your user profile]\AppData\LocalLow" and "C:\Users\[your user profile]\AppData\Roaming" to be searched for the indicated subfolder. I also deleted Registry Entries indicated in section 4.  Half of the entries were removed, so I had to get rid of the other half.  I restarted the computer and reinstalled Flash, that's all.
I am a little disapointed that the official Uninstaller from Adobe didn't performed its task properly.  Hope this will help enhance the tool.
    Regards

  • Flash player/Javascript works one minute and then not the next, how can I stop this?

    Hello,
Flash player seems to be very inconsistent for me. Generally whenever I logon to the internet it is fine, then after a while it just seems to not work. I then end up having to restart. I have the latest update of Flash player (11.4.402.265) and use Internet Explorer 9, I do have Google Chrome also but I rarely use that. The same thing happens with my Javascript too and again I have the latest update (version 7 update 6).
Also, one problem which now happens ALL THE TIME is I logon to certain websites and the background screen loads up but nothing else does. Sometimes an advert loads but literally nothing else on the page does. I can only think this is related to the Flash & Java problems because the worked fine a few weeks ago and now it started up again.
Any idea on how to help me with these problems, it is getting very frustrating

This is just an example. It is www.redimps.com, it is a football club website. I try to get onto this site and just the background image loads. If you try logging onto the home page yourself, you'll notice this is the background image and everything else isn't there. This applies for a fair few websites.
It is hard to explain but hopefully this helps
