Lastest RAID Admin Tool (Version 1.5.2b3) Download

I notice that I am running version 1.5.2b3 of the RAID Admin Tool on my Xserve running 10.6.8 (Server).
I went online because I wanted to download the latest version for my imac too but can't find any reference to that version.
Right now I am using version 1.5.1 of the RAID Admin Tool on my imac running 10.6.8.
I did also look on the 10.6 Admin Tools Install Disc but can't find it on the disc either
(I looked thoroughly and maybe I am missing something)
Question 1:
Where can I find version 1.5.2b3 of the RAID Admin Tool?
Question 2:
What is the most up-to-date/latest version of the Xserve RAID Firmware and where can I find it for download?
Thank you very much in advance for any feedback.

Under Raid Admin if you select the components tab you should be able to see the current firmware version.
Acording to this article 1.5.1 comes with the latest firmware in a file version. You need to use raid admin to select the file and perform the firmware update.

  • Xserve RAID Admin Tool 1.5.1 not quite working

I have an Xserve RAID that's currently at firmware 1.3.2/1.26a according to Xserve RAID Admin Tool 1.5.1. However, when I try to upgrade the firmware to 1.5.1 via the RAID Admin Tool 1.5.1, it just doesn't do anything--it accepts the .xfb file and then...nothing. Quitting out of the the Admin Tool and restarting still shows the firmware at 1.3.2/1.26a. Same thing if I shut down and restart the Xserve RAID from the RAID Admin tool. Any tips? There's nothing stored on the RAID system yet (the array hasn't even been created--it's a blank system) and nothing is attached to it either (I've just plugged in the ethernet links to format it first before I start attaching an Xserve G5 to it). Also, even though the lower controller is showing green and I have an ethernet cable plugged into it, I can't get any info out of it nor can I configure it with an IP address. Only the top controller seems to allow some configuration such as IP address.

    Okay, I've solved the problem.
Basically, the issue was that the lower controller wasn't seated right despite it showing a green light in RAID Admin. When I went to visually inspect it, I noticed that despite what RAID Admin 1.5.1 claimed, its light wasn't even on, let alone green. And since the lower controller handles slots 8-14 of an Xserve RAID and my slots 8-14 are totally unpopulated (empty) at the moment, it was never noticed. Now that I've reseated the lower controller, everything is visually showing green across the board and the firmware upgrade is proceeding as expected and it has upgraded the firmware from 1.3.2/1.26a to 1.5.1/1.5.1c complete with autorestart of both upper and lower controller modules.
Basic lesson learned: RAID Admin lies. If possible, visually inspect the box itself!
    Thanks to all who responded.

  • Tomcat Admin Tool version compatibility

I currently have Tomcat 5.5.17 installed. I downloaded the Tomact Admin Tool for 5.5.x and did the zip extract it put the content into 5.5.25 level folders. Can I copy that content into the corresponding 5.5.17 folders or do I need to upgrade my version of Tomcat? I don't want to move 5.5.25 content into 5.5.17 folders and then find out that they don't mix and match.

  • Admin Tool - BI Server Different Versions???

I just stated working on a development project where I have the Admin tool loaded to my laptop and am connecting to a remote repository. My laptop is running Win7 and the Admin tool version is 10.1.3.4.2, the BI Server is on version 10.1.3.4.1
I am wondering if there are any known issues when using a newer version of the Admin tool compared to the BI Server. I am having some problems that seem quirky rather than outright issues, and thought it may be due to the version difference but not certain.
    Thanks
    J

In the other way, if you try to open a repository version 10.1.3.4.2 with an admin tool version 10.1.3.4.1, you will get a error message.
Normally, you have an ascendant compatibility and then the admintool version 10.1.3.4.2 can open and manage a repository version 10.1.3.4.1.

  • Raid admin and leopard?

am I suppose to use the same version of raid admin tools in leopard as in 10.4.10?
I have raid admin tools 1.5.1
are there any known issues (data loss?) with the xserve raid when upgrading the xserve from tiger to leopard?

The Java versions are slightly different (1.5_13 on Leopard vs. 1.5_07 on Tiger), but that shouldn't be enough to prevent RAID admin from working, but that's only the admin app, and it can be run from any device on the network, so the server's OS version isn't relevant.
That said, since RAID Admin is a java app, it's possible to extract the Java component and run the app on other OSes. If you can run RAID Admin on Windows, or Solaris, or any number of other OSes, there's no reason why Leopard would present any problem.
If you're worried about the RAID not working when connected to a Leopard machine, there's nothing to worry about there, either. It works just fine.

  • Warning lights on XRAID but RAID Admin won't mount it.

    I have 3 Final Cut edit suites sharing 2 x 7TB XserveRAIDs.
I had an audible alarm on one of my RAIDs an amber flashing light by the System Identifier Button.
Edit 2 started up fine and my editor was happily working away. I then went Edit 2 to mount the RAID storage - made up of 2 x 7TB XserveRAIDs each split into 2 partitions providing a total of 4 volumes creating my volume based SAN. As I tried to mount the RAIDs using SANmp I had real issues. Eventually got the volumes mounted but then had the greyed out screen of doom when I tried loading up a Final Cut Pro project and had to do a forced shut down.
Edit 2 was still working but I then had similar problems in Edit 1 - not able to mount partitions and unable to load projects.
I tried looking up the RAIDs on the RAID Admin Tool but I'm only seeing 1 RAID when I should be seeing 2. The AID that is mounted is not giving me any errors which makes me think I've lost communication with the RAID with the problem.
Should I just shut the whole system down and hope it starts talking to me again when I fire it up again?
I just want to get on an edit my show.
    Thanks.

William: Thanks for your reply, but you seem to be wide of the target here.
RAID Admin can connect to the RAID,
    but doesn't see drives?
No. I can run RAID Admin on the Xserve or on a separate laptop, and either way RAID Admin can't find any RAIDs to show in the list of available RAIDs. So it doesn't even get to the stage where it can see any individual drives, since it doesn't find the RAID unit in the first place.
The red light you're seeing, as well as the
fact that Disk Utility can see all the drives
    as individuals,
Clarification: Disk Utility is showing symbols for drives, but of course these are really partitions of the RAID, not the individual physical hard drives in the RAID.
indicates that either stuff is set in JBOD mode
... well I'd love to report what mode it's in, but RAID Admin won't show me . However, judging by the fact that there's no part of the file system that's obviously missing, (and also by our original intent when this was set up) I'm 99.9% sure it's in some redundant mode, and 99.8% sure that is simply in default RAID-5 mode.
    or something is seriously wrong...
... depending on the meaning of "seriously"!
I'd guess the RAID set (and any data that
    was on it) is gone.
... though as I noted in original post, it's in everyday use, including by me, and I've not detected any missing data, aside from a handful of files (out of total approx 2 million files) that return read errors.

  • HT1822 Mac OS X server admin tools: non-server editions of Mac OS 10.6?

On my iMac, I am running the installation of OS X that it shipped with + updates up to 10.6.8.  I know there are server admin tools available on the Apple support website, that do stuff like manage groups.  I am looking for a GUI to look at ALL the users, groups, permissions, etc. (including hidden ones like _www for apache) on my system, without having to dig through config files in /etc and/or use the dscl command line utility.
The referenced article says I can find the 10.6 tools on Apple support downloads:
    Mac OS X Server v10.6
To administer Mac OS X Server v10.6, use the Server Admin Tools 10.6 on Mac OS X v10.6. You should match the version numbers of the server, tools, and admin workstation as closely as possible; for example, use Server Admin Tools version 10.6.8 on Mac OS X v10.6.8 to administer Mac OS X Server v10.6.8.
    My questions are:
    1.  Where are the 10.6 tools on the apple support website?  A search turns up versions for everything BUT 10.6.
    2.  Will the 10.6 tools work on 10.6.8 that is not a server edition of Mac OS?

The Server Tools you can download from Apple will install and run on OS X client, but they will only connect to and monitor OS X Server boxes.
So that won't get you where you want.
One command that will help you here - and which is present on OS X Server and OS X client - is dscl.
    dscl . list /users
    For details:
    info dscl
    or
    man dscl
    Or a web search, etc...

  • RAID Admin won't launch...

10.3.9 OSX server with RAID Admin 1.5
Everytime I try to launch raid admin it just bounces in the Dock and then stops. Never launches. I have tried deleting prefs, reinstalling the raid admin tool, repairing permissions and restarting, all with no luck.
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you

I have the same update installed, and I don't have any problems. I'm on 10.4.4 though.
The console may have some information as to what's going on. Alternatively, as RAID Admin is a Java application, you can just run it manually. It's a lot of typing, but open up a terminal, and cust and paste this:
    java -jar /Applications/Utilities/Xserve\ RAID\ Update/RAID\ Admin.app/Contents/Resources/Java/RAID_Admin.jar
Hit return and see what happens.
If you don't get any output which indicates a problem, try running it again in verbose mode:
    java -verbose -jar /Applications/Utilities/Xserve\ RAID\ Update/RAID\ Admin.app/Contents/Resources/Java/RAID_Admin.jar
Post the output here -- preferably to the first one. The verbose output may exceed the posting limits here

  • Admin Tool Download

Where can I find a Oracle BI 10.1.3 Administration Tool download for an XP client where the Oracle BI EE server is installed elsewhere on another machine? I have downloaded Oracle BI 10.1.3 EE and installed clients for ODBC, Office, etc., but no Admin Tool has been found.

There is no seperate download for the Admin Tool. You need to download the full software and while installing, instead of selecting full installation just choose Client Tools installation. That will install the Admin tool.
    Thanks,

  • What are the latest versions of RAID Admin and RAID Firmware

As of 10/18/06, what are the latest versions of RAID Admin and RAID Firmware?
Currently I have RAID Admin 1.5.
RAID Admin reports my RAID's firmware is version 1.3.2/1.26a.
    Am I safe?
    Do I have the latest?
    Thanks.
    XServe G5

You do not have the latest firmware. The latest firmware is version 1.5.
You should upgrade. Make sure you have a current backup and then select "update firmware" from within RAID admin. It will then ask you for the location of the firmware update -- it should be in /Application/Utilities/Xserve RAID Update.

    Hi,
we've tried to synchronize application rooles from Administration Tool, but without any positive results. List of application rooles in EM/bifoundation_domain is different from a list in Administration Tool/Identity Manager/Application Roles. There aren't any errors in bifoundation_domain logs, but in weblogic domain logs we have many erros with the same description:
"Failed to get WLS users.". What could be the reason?

  • Pls help me to find admin tool for latest bi linux version

    Hello,
    Oracle Business Intelligence, v. 11.1.1.5.0
I installed the latest version of OBIEE of linux version 64 bit on the server.
    Installation went fine.
Now the only problem is finding Admin tool.
Could u pls tell me where its sitting.
    I know i Windows it Admintool.exe
    Thanks

    Hi user,
Firstly you wont have admin tool for linux environment....you need to install the client on windows local machine and access the BI server of linux by setting up a connection.
So you need to download 64-bit or 32-bit windows one to install http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-enterprise-edition/downloads/biee-111150-393613.html
    Read this document :- http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E21764_01/bi.1111/e10539/c5_postinstall.htm#CEGEHEJF
    hope answered your question.
    Cheers,

  • Raid Admin 1.5 Tools

With the new version of Raid Admin I understand that I can make one large volume from my xraid rather than two.
    I just don't know how.
Would someone shed some light on this for me.
    Thank You

RAID Admin 1.5 supports creating, at the least, two logical volumes from an Xserve RAID. One volume on the upper controller and one on the lower controller. For example a RAID 5 array consisting of all 7 drives and 1 slice -- the default slice -- on each controller. This is the same behavior as all previous versions of RAID Admin.
As Camelot mentions, these two volumes can then be striped on the host using software (Apple) RAID in order to yield a single logical volume.
