Lately my finder closes when I select a shared devices and I can no longer connect to other macs.  Wifi working, TC okay except in finder. Mac Pro running 10.8.5

Lately my finder has been closing when I select a shared device such as another mac, a printer, or the time capsule.   My WiFi connection is working - I can can still backup to the TC and use my wireless printer, but I just can't access them by clicking on them in the finder window.   Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I made no changes to the mini or the server.
The router was shut down then on restart the new (replaced modem) was configured by using another mac on the network (not the file server)
Once the router and modem were online again, other macs running 9.2 were accessing the file server as usual. The mini was not.
I had been working on a file that resides on the server. I was not warned that the router was going to be shut down. When I saved the file I got the beach ball then error message.
It'll be next week before I'm in the office agin. I'll report back then. Thanks

    ok so we bought an ipod touch for my daughter and when she connected it to the computer after she downloaded itunes, she was asked if it was her ipod or a new one, so she clicked on her ipod and lost all her recent pics plus is unable to locate the app store on her safari on her ipod touch. any suggestions as to what went wrong or what should be done ? should we restore or what?

    - The iPod got erased since it sounds iTunes identified that the iPod has been synced with another computer and she said yes to making this computer her syncing computer. It could also she restored the iPod from the backup of another iPod, iPhone or iPad that was in iTunes. If in iTunes you go to Preferences>Devices is there a backup listed for her iPod with a date/time when she first connected the iPod to the computer. If so then restore the iPod from that backup.

    - Regarding the App store. The App store is not in Safari. It is a separate app. Also, could the Apple store be hidden by Restrictions? Settings>General>Restrictions. Further, can you find the App store via the Spotlight search on the iPod?

    Sorry about that. The help pages have been updated for the new "Add a device" process in Firefox 4, but the add-on for Firefox 3.6 is still using an older, different process.
    You can download the Firefox 4 release candidate here and use the new "easy setup" process described in the help pages: http://firefox.com/rc
    Or if you prefer to stick with Firefox 3.6, then instead of clicking "Add a device" on your computer, press the "Connect" button on your phone or other device, then click on "I am not near my computer..." and enter your email address, password, and sync key. (If you don't know your sync key, see [[Where can I find my Firefox Sync Key?]])

    Having the same issue here....a quick fix is to just minimize the window, and immediately maximize it.  It will now fit the screen.  Trouble is, after you close it, you'll have to do it again when you re-start itunes.  The good news is it takes all of about 2 seconds.  Apple should fix this.  Should.

    This doesn't happen all the time, but it's happened enough for me to notice it and get super annoyed by it.
    Here's an example. If I have the following text:
    The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.
    And I highlight quick brown and then press delete, I get: (The red shows the selected text)
    The fox jumps over the lazy dog.
    So when I then start typing, more text is removed than I want. Sometimes this effect carries over, so that the next couple words are selected once I start typing.
    It's wonderfully annoying. So I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing such issues or if anyone might have an idea on how to get rid of this problem.

    You need to restore.
    Everything should be on your computer, so you can just sync it back.

    Premiere Elements 11  trial version for macMac computer photos uploaded to the timeline just finetrying to make a new title, streaming or in a framedouble clicked on the text in the box and nothing shows up when I type on my keyboard. I can delete the words that are there but not type in new ones. I selected the type and size, etc.
    Thanks if you can figure it out. I gave up!
    I may just un-install it all together if I can't get to work.Joanne

    Joanne Murray J2 What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what operating system (including 32 or 64 bit) is your Premiere Elements installed? Forgive the questions if you have been there and done that, but I do not want to take anything for granted that might hinder a speedy resolution to your issue. Are you opening an already created title that is sitting on the Timeline in order to edit it in the Titler or are you trying to create a new Title (Default Text or other)? Do you know how to work with the Selection Tool and Type Tool in the Titler? Once I know what version of Premiere Elements that you are using, I will give you specific how to details. Thanks. ATR

  • When I select "Pair a device" why do I get another pairing code instead of a box to enter the code I already got on my mobile?

    I'm trying to set up Firefox Sync between my Android and my desktop(Windows 7). When I select "Pair a device"(on the home screen on the desktop system) I just get another screen with a code like the one I got on my phone already(no, the codes don't match). I've tried this several times and the results are always the same.
    I'm using Firefox version 10.0.2 on the desktop(and I think that's what it is on my phone as well), and my phone is a Sprint Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch

    This is certainly unusual. I'm trying to replicate it and I'm completely unsuccesful.
    Are you using the steps described in this article? [[How do I sync Firefox between my desktop and mobile?]]
    Are you clicking the "Pair a device" link at the bottom of the "about:home" page? (i.e. type "about:home" in your address bar)
    I will suggest you another process but I'm curious why you are hitting on this roadblock.

    Chances are you Can only print from the app from the printer maker
    And where you are Trying to print from May only work with AirPrint able printers which the epson would not be

    To answer the post title FireFox save all downloads automatically in the download folder, which you can find in the Documents folder. If you want to choose where to save your downloads go to tools>options>check always ask me where to save files.
    Secondly, I am assuming you have IE 8 installed as this is the only version that supports this fix that is currently not in beta. Go to control panel>internet options>advanced tab and reset the settings at the bottom. This may or may not fix the problem but it is a good first step.
