Lately my screen keeps going black with no warning, what could cause this?
on my laptop, my screen goes black, I can't continue my work. What could this be?
Ok,
This is a 4.1 MacBook early 2008 in white?
First of all, I would try resting the SMC link here on how to do so.
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
See if that provides any solution to your problem.
if not then it's more than likely to be the common fault of the invertor board found in the display housing.
Not a very nice job to replace and advisable to get Apple to carry out the repair for you.
But let hope it's not that.
Best of Luck

Lenovo z50 screen keeps going black
I've had it for around 6 months with no problems, then in the last 48 hours, the screen keeps going black when I'm using it. It happens every 20-30 minutes. If I close the laptop lid and open it again, it works fine until the problem comes up again. I've tried downloading updates and placing a fan by it, but it keeps happening. Any ideas?

i dropped my ipod in coke. The screen keeps going black. Is there anything i can do?
Your iPod is toast. No amount of dry rice is gonna help.
"Coke" and other carbonated drinks are acidic (carbonic acid), not to mention loaded with sugars and other nastiness.
The acid will "eat" metals, like the lead and tin in solder, most liquids will wreak havoc with the LCD display, and since "Coke" and its cousins are acidic, they are also good electrolytes and will conduct electricity.
You can try filing a claim against your home owner's insurace, but barring that, you're out of luck. -
My iMac 27inch screen keeps going black but everything is still running in the background? please help. I have read that apple are recalling 27inch iMacs....
Hello @DesCherryBomb,
I understand that you are having issues with your HP 2310m monitor going blank and/or flickering. I am providing you with some steps you can try below:
Step 1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the monitor and the wall
Step 2. Hold the power button down for at least one minute
Step 3. Plug the power cord back into the monitor and then into the wall outlet (not a power bar or surge protector)
Step 4. Press the Menu button on the monitor
Step 5. Navigate to the Factory Reset option and select it
If the above steps did not resolve your issue you can try the monitor on a computer or other device to see if the issue persists. Please call our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region. http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html

Screen keeps going black and I can't get it to light back up
I just purchased a "pinkberry" and am getting very frustrated with it. It keeps going black and no matter what buttons I push I cannot get it to light back up. I got it yesterday and charged it for about 12 hours so I know it's not that the battery is low.
seems like a hardware problem. Return the device to where you bought it and claim a new one.

While take pictures with my Canon EOS Rebel T4i camera it died. I assumed it was a dead battery. Upon charging the battery it would take just a few pictures and die again. I purchased a new cannon battery and fully charged it and now the camera will not even come on. What could cause this?
Sounds like the micro-switch in either the battery door or memory card door is barely making contact. If either of those two doors are opened the camera will immediatley power off. The micro-switch is in the door frame. The door itself has a tab which pushes on the switch.

my samsung stratosphere is very slow to place a call. I input the number and push CALL. Nothing happens. I try it again and nothing happens. Then some time later (2-5 mins) the phone goes ahead and dials. What is causing this delay in dialing.
wadams5641,
Let's add some speed to your service and ensure you can make calls without the
delay. When was the last time you turned off your phone? Is the software up to
date?

I am using jQuery 2.1.0 with Firefox 24.5.0. Firefox restarted in safe mode, all add-ons and exts are disabled. I placed some debugging code in jQuery.ajaxTransport to log xhr.status. I open Web Developer -> (Console and Network), I can see a server 406 response which is showing a 200 for xhr.status.
What can cause this? What can cause Firefox to map a 406 to 200?Additional Information: Windows 7 the HTTP Request was a POST and contained JSON in both the request and response.

I have one of the original iPads. For some reason it has started showing Verification required. I do not know what is causing this and it keeps rebooting.
Can anyone offer any advice?

Laurence1. Windows 8.1 Enterprise w Update is the best. It allows you for sideloading in corporate environment without additional tools and licenses.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/jj874388.aspx
2. N series is for EU (without IE).
3. Profesional is fine, but you will need some tools to achieve the same functionality that you have in "pack" Enterprise.
4. VL is volume license, a type of license for multiple computers (to say it simply)
5. MSDN forum is better alternative for problems like this.
6. Attached to MSDN are licenses or at least references to web resources. Read license agreements carefully and let your installation and use follow the license.

Imac screen keeps going black sound present
Imac screen goes black can still hear sounds volume on but blank black screen
can anybody tell me why this happens? As old as your iMac is, have you cleaned out the dust? Dust buildup can lead to over heating issues. Remove any and all things plugged into it including the power cord, Remove the RAM access grille. Vacuum all openings starting with the RAM access area (air intake). Vacuum all ports and plugs, DVD slot and the opening across the top of the rear of the body. Blow compressed air through all your openings and vacuum again to remove any dust you loosend. Reinstall the RAM grille. Plug in the keyboard and mouse if not blue tooth. Insert power cord...
You are now in a perfect position to do a
SMC RESET
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and ALL peripherals.
Wait 15 seconds.
Attach the computers power cable.
Wait another 5 seconds and press the power button to turn on the computer.
It is the 5 second timing that initiates the reset.

Yesterday upon startup for the first time the screen went black. Had to do a force shutdown. Unplugged all external devices. Reset everything as well. Slowly checked everything was on the phone with Apple even during the process. Seemed to correct the issue. Then of course I get off the phone, restarted my computer and it goes black randomly again.
Rebooted fine. Checked all my hard disks internal and external, verified and repaired permissions on main drive and clone. Since then nothing yet...But I still feel its either the Video Card or the Monitor as everything else is fully operational.
I plan on taking it in to look at as my applecare is up in November but I cant point my finger on it. And really am trying to avoid lugging the mac pro and monitor in at the same time...(Not the easiest thing with lack of parking in nyc..)
If the display was dying I feel like it would have konked out already.
The funny thing is I have had to replace video cards and monitors in the past but this time I cant quite figure out what the **** is going on.
I am leaning towards the video card as I noticed it flickered a little when opening plug in windows in pro tools or multiple windows in sfari but it doesnt make sense.
Worst part is I cant do a hardware test cause for some reason this computer doesnt have the software installed. It does nothing when I hold down the D button...
I totally baffled but the randomness of this. -
Ipod touch 2nd ge keeps going black and locking itself whats going on?
Okay so I'm browsing my apps or listening to music and all of a sudden *click* nothing screens black...odd. So I press the power button and it lights up and says "slide to unlock." So I do it and *click* black. "sigh" Power screen lights up I slide to unlock and it says "slide to power down." ???? Press cancel and I slide to unock. AGAIN and screen keeps flashing "slide to unlock and before I can even move my thumb it goes black again and then after a few times of that it stays on. So whats going on? It syncs up to iTunes and eveything just like confusing me and being a pain in the tucas?
Try #2 and #3 in link below. If neither work, you most likely have a hardware issue.

MacBook screen keeps going black and won't reboot
I have a 15" MacBook Pro, Early 2011 running 10.9.2. This rather alarming problem started recently, about two weeks ago:
At random, my screen will "glitch out" and go black. This usually happens when performing some innocuous action like moving a window or opening a random app.
When in this state, the MacBook will not wake up so I have to do a hard reboot. Then the system will not make it back to the Finder. It will get to a solid gray screen, I can hear the fan ramp up and then it will shut itself down again.
The only way to reboot is to go into single user mode (command-S) and then run "/sbin/fsck -y" twice because the first run modifies my startup disk for some unreported reason. Then my MacBook will run fine for a couple hours before I have to repeat the process all over again.
I've run Apple's Hardware Test and everything came up fine. I did some research and found this old article, which describes a similar bug in the MacBook model prior to mine (late 2010), which suggests some kind of known graphics card hardware bug:
http://www.cnet.com/news/apple-acknowledges-2010-macbook-pro-black-screen-bug/
Any solutions out there, beyond taking it to an Apple Store?
EDIT: I subsequently found this discussion, which describes the same defect:
https://discussions.apple.com/message/25002119#25002119I've found a solution — or rather a patch. I downloaded gfxCardStatus and set it as a Startup Item. It adds an icon and menu to Mac OS X's menu bar, and from there you can tell the system to use the "Integrated Only" graphics hardware instead of "Dynamic Switching."
This apparently prevents the system from using the "Discrete Only" graphics hardware, which in my case was causing the crashes.
This patch allows all graphics-intensive apps to run on my Mac, including iPhoto, Photoshop and SketchUp.
Apple, when are you going to address this problem? Your hardware test apps failed to find any hardware problems.
