Latest 10.4.10 Upgrade on 7/2/2007 - did it fix the wireless issues?
I am one of the people that had to go back to 10.4.9 because of all the wireless problems that the June release of 10.4.10 introduced. I just noticed that there is an updated version of the upgrade released on July 2. Has anybody installed that one, and did the wireless issues go away (in case you had them with the previous release)?
I am just wondering if it's worth doing at this point. Last time I had to reinstall the OS starting with 10.4.6, and it was a pain. Has anyone been more courageous than me and bit the bullet?
Thanks in advance.
Macbook Mac OS X (10.4.9)
Yes, this update seemed to work for me. It is not terribly clear there are actualy two 10.4.10 updates. There is the full update, which is 279 megabytes, that gets picked up automatically by the Apple Software Update utility.
There is a second 10.4.10 update which is actually 10.4.10 v1.1. This DOES NOT get discovered automatically by the update utility. You have to manually go get the update. The v1.1 update is about 72 megabytes before unpacking.
You can find it at the following Apple support URL:

I have a 2007 (Imac7,1) running Snow Leopard (10.6.8). What is the latest OX I can upgrade to? I want to get t the Cloud and I can't
Minimum requirements for iCloud is v10.7.5 Lion.
See if your Mac can run Lion > OS X Lion - Technical Specifications
You can purchase Lion here > OS X Lion (10.7) - Apple Store (U.S.)
After the purchase Apple will send you an email notification with a redemption code you can use at the App Store to downlaod Lion.
BEFORE you do that, see if your Mac can Mavericks > OS X Mavericks: System Requirements
If so, you don't need to purchase Lion.
You can download Mavericks from the App Store for free.

I have a G5 mac using ver 10.4.11 and a newer mac using ver 10.8.4 these are networked. using the new mac i looked up my my photo on the old mac. It then said you need to upgrade your library which it did. Now the old mac can not open the photos and say that I need to upgrade my I photo to a newer version. The old mac has no more support from apple in software update so I am not sure where I should go from here. can I use new soft ware with the old mac
The other part of the upgrade message was a warning that once you upgraded you would no longer be able to open the library with the old version which is exaclty what you did and what happened when you choose to continue
The iphoto library needs to be upgraded to work with this version of iPhoto. Your photo library will not be readable by previous versions of iphoto after the upgrade. The upgrade process may take several minutes depending on the number of photos in the library. Cancel or upgrade.
So now your choices are to not use iPhoto with the previous version using it onky with the newer version, restore your backup from before you did this upgrade or purchase iPhoto Library Manager and use it to rebuild the library using the older version of iPhoto (instructions are on their web site) thereby downgrading it (without projects)

I have upgrade my phone to iOS7 and my company recently upgraded to Exchange 2010. My emails are not synching to my inbox. I can only see my Sent items. I have already deleted the account 3 times but this did not fix the inbox problem.
You need to have a different Apple ID for each of the other devices.

Has Apple ever fixed the fan issue that results from upgrading the hard drives on 2009-2010 iMacs?
My CPU fan defaults to 3000RPM. I can rev the fan higher with 3rd party Fan controllers, but no lower than 3K.OR you can short out the original temp sensor, to make the fans rev at quieter speeds.
You can also install an optical temp sensor in place of the old one, it will still read temps and adjust the fans accordingly, just not as good as an internal sensor.
Use something like this:http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-922-9229-Cable-Temp-Sensor-Optical-iMac-27-inch-Late -2009-2010-/111106349896

Very strange fault occurred after upgrading to 10.6.2: Final Cut Pro 7 crashed immediately at startup with:
Exception Type: EXCBADACCESS (SIGBUS)
Exception Codes: KERNPROTECTIONFAILURE at 0x0000000000000000
I tried a number of fixes, none of which made any difference. A few others seem to have had problems with FCP & one source recommended rolling back to 10.6.1 by reinstalling 10.6.0 and then upgrading to 10.6.1. This I was loathe to do. On a hunch I reinstalled FCP after turning off what extras I could, such as the audio content to save time. It took a while but fixed the problem.
I have no idea why the program failed in this way, of course. Thanks, and here is the link:

Latest Media Encoder CC 7.2 fixes the transcode issue in Encore CS6
The latest version of Adobe Media Encoder prevents the issue of transcoding Blue-Ray files when importing them in Encore CS6 http://blogs.adobe.com/aftereffects/2013/12/adobe-media-encoder-cc-7-2-december-2013-updat e.html
This is very good news for CC users.
The PR update is also now announced:
http://forums.adobe.com/message/5925060#5925060
The list of bug fixes does not mention this issue.
There have been some differences in how processing occurs between exporting from PR vs queuing to AME. Do we know that the export is fixed for either type of export? -
The latest kit kat "improvements" have made using my phone much more frustrating. How can one roll back this operating system update to the previous version? If it is not possible to roll it back, how do I fix the following issues?
1) The battery timing has been greatly diminished.
2) Gmail isn't syncing properly. At least 7 times since the update, upon opening gmail, I see lists of messages that are sometimes over a year old, and not my current ones.
3) The sound slider bar on the open screen has disappeared. It now takes 4 steps in order to get into settings, and temporarily turn off the sound. That is ridiculous when entering a meeting. Not to mention that you have to repeat those steps upon the meeting's end.
4) Searching for a particular contact in people has become more complicated--much easier to select "m" when looking for Mary's info than to have to scroll through the very JITTERY and way too touch sensitive sidebar all the way to the "M's" to even begin to search through the M's. This is way too unwieldy.
5) Emoticon symbol has replaced the symbol to move to the next line in text messaging keyboard. I am not interested in childlike emoticons. I am interested in writing a coherent professional message with appropriate spacing.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. You cannot uninstall Kit Kat from your phone. BTW what kind of phone do you have??

Upgrade/patch to Lion to fix the wifi iLooking for Networks"?
Can we expect an upgrade/patch to Lion to fix the wifi issue of "Looking for Networks" constantly coming on? I've read the suggestions, etc. and had a couple make incremental improvements. However, I'm ready to give up wifi until there's a fix. Anyone heard anything on when this might happen?

One of the error mesages I get while trying to log into wifi "Could not scan for wireless network"
I'm hoping there will be a fix, I like my 4s 64 gb....anyone?
So, you've done every step listed in iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections - http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1398?
Does ANY wi-finetwork show as available, anywhere you go? -
How do I upgrade my Core2Duo Mini OSX10.4.11 to the latest version of Snow Leopard?
I am aware I should upgrade from 1GB to 2GB of RAM. Can I just purchase the Snow Leopard DVD and install from that? Will I be able to run my Microsoft Office 2004 suite? Is it worth doing? I can't run any decent browsers with this old dinosaur.....but I'd rather not cough up $600 clams for a new one....
I have 7GB available on my hard drive.
Thanks in advance for help with this. You may also want to upgrade the HD or at least move large libraries onto external disks (since a macmini generally does not move like a laptop an external disk is just another desktop item). 7 GB free will be chewed into hard by SL and you should always have 15-20 GB free to allow OSX room to perform normal operations.

ITunes Toolbar mini-App no longer works in latest 10.0.1 upgrade
Has anyone else found a way around the issue of the iTunes Toolbar mini-App that lives in the Windows Taskbar no longer responding to anything (can't seem to use any of the buttons or expand into the full app) with the latest 10.0.1 upgrade? The only way I have found to now stop iTunes is to go and kill the process (not cool!). If you like using the iTunes Toolbar mini-App I seriously recommend waiting for 10.0.2 and stay with 10.0 for the meantime.
Did you check your security settings & trusted locations to ensure that the URL is on a trusted site??

After upgrading my iPhone4 to the latest IO it no longer connects to wifi, how do you fix this?
knifepainter wrote:
What I know is that the phone worked perfectly fine until I upgraded the software. I've tried resetting the network settings to no avail. I've shut the phone off, put it in a ziplock baggie and then into the freezer for 15 minutes. This made the wifi work temporarily but then it goes back to being grayed out. The wifi does not work at other wifi sites away from my home as well. Seems like an apple issue to me and would appreciate someone coming up with a fix, apparently I'm not the only one having this problem. Thanks for replying to my query, any ideas?
It's likely a hardware issue. The iOS will not directly cause this issue.
Use this article first:
iOS: Wi-Fi settings grayed out or dim - http://support.apple.com/en-us/TS1559
If that fails to resolve it, then try setting it up as new and testing again.
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups - http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT4137
If the issue remains even after set up as new, it's a hardware problem, not a software problem. You'll need to contact Apple for you hardware service options. If within warranty it should be free. If not, expect to pay $149 USD + tax if it's an iPhone 4, $199 USD + tax if it's an iPhone 4S. -

With the latest upgrade to iPhoto, Keywords no longer display under the photo, even when Display Keywords is turned on. Does anyone know why?
Keywords have been moved into the Info tray at the right. Don't know why it was changed. You can send a request to change it back to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html.

With Yosemite's updates, Reminders doesn't wrap unfinished tasks to the next day. Previously, if I didn't check off a task on one day, it wrapped to the next day. Now, they just stay on the original day, causing me to not see that I haven't finished

Can I get a simple answer to this question? Is it true that you can no longer get app updates (for your iOS devices) from within iTunes 12? In past versions of iTunes, app updates were announced prominently when you plugged in an iOS device to sync.
