Latest app store update not installing correctly

I have a 2008 macbook running mountain lion.  It normally updates software via the app store without any difficulty.  Today it wants to install an iphoto update and a safari (6.02) update but it gives the following error:
The operation couldn’t be completed. (NSURLErrorDomain error -3001.)(102)
Can anyone tell me what this means and what to do about it?  I've tried restarting the laptop but this hasn't helped.  I'm connected to the internet via wifi.
Many thanks!

  • App store updates not installing

Some but not all of the updates available the App store fail to install.  I get a red error message, "An errror has occurred." Some times I get a pop up message "failed to download. Try again from the purchases page."  However, I get the same error from the purchases page. I am running Mountain Lion 10.8.5.
    Any suggestioins?

Thanks for the suggestion, a brody.  I should have been more specific.  These are third-party apps from the App Store. Some apps, Apple and third-party, do update normally.  I have 9 apps now that say there are updates but cannot update.

  • I get but not the app. store in my doc. App. store is not installed, how do I do it for each other? I have my apple software update.

    Hello,
I get but not the app. store in my dock.
App. store is not installed, how do I do it for each other?
I have my apple software update.
App.store app but after my update is not in the dock and system.
    Kees.

    Hi Kees ...
Your profile indicates you are running Leopard v10.5.8
You need to upgrade to Snow Leopard V10.6 in order to use the App Store. This is an "upgrade", not an "update".
Make sure your Mac meets Snow Leopard's requirements here.
You must have the minimum of v10.6.6 installed in order to access the App Store.
You can purchase Snow Leopard here > Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store

  • How do I download an app from the Mac App Store but not install it yet?

How do I download an app from the Mac App Store but not install it yet?
Can I simply download it and not install?
What if the App gets updated before I download it?
Why? Well, I am very busy and wish to install at my leisure even though I have purchased the App (required at a specific day in the month in order to appear on my business accounts).
    Thanks.

There is a difference in what Kappy stated and what you stated. A major paid upgrade (v2.x to v3.0), yes, costs money, as it would in any other delivery stream. Updates (v3.0 to v3.1) to a a major version are free.
Most apps sold through the Mac App Store (MAS) are the type that use the simple drag & drop installation. Those are downloaded directly to the designated apps folder and installation is done. Large pro-type apps download an installer to your Apps folder. Those you can install at your leisure. The MAS does not have a lot of apps using this type of installation.
Be sure to always backup your MAS purchases, because there is no guarantee that the app will always be available for download in the future and it is your responsibility to archive copies.

  • App Store did not Install apps correctly

The app store updated my iwork apps.  I look at the list of updates in the appstore and these versions do not match what is on my computer.  The computer still has the older versions.  I am running os 10.9.2.  Where did the new versions go if they are not on my compter?

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5.2 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.2 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed over 90 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

Ipad says hello, asks for language and location,wi-fi then options are set up as new ipad, restore from icloud or itunes backup. I think I have managed to backup over my good backup and lost everything. Ipad will not boot HELP

    Hello RodneySmart,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
From what I understand about your issues is that your iPad will currently not turn on.  In attempt to resolve this issue please follow the steps in order below:
    Resolution
If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), reset your device.
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let it charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged. Learn more about charging iPhone and iPod touch, or iPad.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more about restoring iOS software.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.

  • Mac App store will not install / run

My mac says that OSX 10.6.6 is installed. If I attempt in launch the app store, the icon appears in the dock briefly then disappears. It is the same if its launched from Applications or Apple menu. I tried to uninstall the app store then re- installing 10.6.6 combo but I get an 'Unknown error occurred during the installation of this software....' The App re-appears in the Apps folder but still fails to run. I have checked disk permissions, tried re-installing but the same error persists.

  • App Store updates not functioning

App Store says I have updates but is blank when I am on the update page

    From Demo:
If you are getting the blank app update screen, and, many people are having this problem over the last several of days:
According to Fly150 in another discussion, this will work.
If you want to update the Apps while waiting for Apple to fix Updates:
    1. Go to App Store
    2. Select Purchased
    3. Select All
    4. Scroll down to find the Apps showing update
    5. Select update on the Apps
This should update the Apps and get rid of the update count in App Store. Apple needs to fix this. It is a workaround only until then.
    Or try this from Apple:
I understand that your App Store does not show your app updates. Please follow the steps below to help resolve the issue.
    1. Close All Apps on iPad: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
    2. Sign out of iTunes & App Stores: Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Tap AppleID > Sign out
    3. Reset All Settings: Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
    4. Reboot iPad
    5. Sign back into iTunes and App Stores: Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Sign In with AppleID

  • App store updates not working

After updating to ios 7, and setting my app store updates to update automatically, and after they all did update, the long list of apps won't go away. They just sit there with an "open" button next to each one. I tried force quitting the app store, I tried signing out of the app store, I tried shutting down my phone, but the list just sits there. Any thoughts about this?

I have the same identical issue. Have you found any fix yet?

  • Update Evernote in Mac App store will not install

1 update available, but it has already the status "Installed". I removed the entire Evernote app and tried to dowwload a full new version from the store in order to wipe this update. This did not work, I also downloaded a full version direct from Evernote and installed it but it did not clear the presented update in the store. That was BTW a solution from the Evernote support team.
How can I get rid of this qued update?

I had the same situation, but what I forgot was that my laptop also had Evernote installed.  If I hadn't gone back and updated the laptop, them my system was still vulnerable. My desktop showed the updated version installed, but the store kept saying I needed to update it.  I posted on this forum and it was suggested I check for installion on a different device.  As soon as I updated on the laptop, the message from the store went away.

  • Mac app store updates not correct

Today I see I have 11 updates for apps on my Macintosh MacBook Pro-13" (mid-2010) running 10.8.4.
BUT I checked and each of the 11 apps is already at the update that App Store 1.2.2 proposes.  Not sure what is going on--- I've done a restart - same thing appears--- anyone else ever see this?  Is it a problem with 10.8.4 (only installed that 2 days ago).
Thanks for any comments - I have not elected to "update" any of the 11 apps.  At least not yet - suppose I could try with one and see what happens…
    Best regards,
    Steve Schulte

BUT I checked and each of the 11 apps is already at the update that App Store 1.2.2 proposes.
    Steve ...
Try deleting the cache associated with the App Store.
Quit the App Store if it's open.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Relaunch the App Store. See if the updates are still available.
If that didn't help, with the App Store open launch Activity Monitor located in HD > Applications > Utilities
Type storeagent in the search field top right corner of that window. Select that process then click the red Force Quit button.
Quit and relaunch the App Store.

  • HT1338 Mac App Store will not install Mountain Lion update

I am having an issue where I try to install the 10.8.4 update from the Mac App Store.  I click on the button and it says it needs to restart to install.  I tell it to restart and install but it does nothing.  I get the Mac App store back with it asking me to install the update again.  Looking at the infobox I see that I am still on 10.8.3.
Any thoughts on how to fix this?
    Thanks

    Give this a try:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Lion/Mountain Lion
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
After this is completed download and install 10.8.4 Mountain Lion Update v10.8.4 (Combo).

  • App store updates not working-installing appears and quickly disappears.

I cannot seem to update apps on my iPad. I have updates, when I open AppStore and click update all the installing bars appear and very quickly disappears. Doing individually does the same. Everything was working fine last week this issue appears to be new. anyone having the same issue and did anyone have a fix? Or is this a apple App Store server issue ?

Same issue here with my iPhone 4.  Was working last week fine.  Now I have the same symptoms as the original poster.  Even in ITunes on my pc I had error updating apps (11111) error?  I have tried resetting , logout login even change payment method no luck.  Maybe my account is messed up?  If my phone is out of service will apple care?

  • UbikReader update in App store but not installed on Macbook Pro

I have an update showing as available in the App Store (UbikReader, by UbikLabs), but I have never installed this application on any of my Macs.  I have used both Spotlight and EasyFind to search my macbook for UbikReader & UbikLabs -- and nothing is found.
If I click the Update button next to the app, it will autofill the credentials for the app it would have been downloaded with ([email protected]).  A quick google search shows that this account has been compromised and the password is floating around on the internet.  I'm assuming someone/something attempted some sort of an install but it never completed.
My question is this....  if I don't have the app installed, I can't delete it;  without using the widely available credentials, I can't Update the app to remove the notification...  How can I remove any left-over from an application that doesn't appear to have been installed on my cmputer and/or my account?  I would like for it to stop showing up as an available update in the App Store.
    Thanks!

I found the solution for my issue in a similar post:  https://discussions.apple.com/message/21055428#21055428.  The recommendation worked for me and the App Store is no longer showing an available update for UbikReader.  Thanks to seventy one for the recommendation/fix!
"You could try reindexing your HDD.   The MAS uses the Spotlight indexing in determining what apps need updating.   Go to Systems Preferences / Spotlight/ Privacy; add your Hdd to the list then remove it from that list.   Spotlight will then reindex your HDD."

  • App Store Update Not Working

With Mavericks installed on my Mac Pro I had been experiencing for a while erratic behaviour from the App Store and now it is not working.
When trying to update software it used to put up a message "Can't load data from the software update server"  and then when I tried again it would download the software.
However now, it gives me that "Can't load data from the software update server" message and will not download software.
Currently I have three items in the Software Update section at the top. These are all Apple updates. Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 5.03. iTunes 11.1.4 and ProApps QuickTime codecs 1.0.4.
These will not update. If I click on Update All button at top the other buttons turn light, but no installation process takes place. When I check iTunes I see that it is still version 11.1.4.
In the Account Information panel I have clicked on the "Reset" button to reset all warnings for buying and downloading. However this does not make any difference. I have checked that all information in that panel is current.
Does anyone here have any suggestions?
    Thank you.

If none of that works, then I'm out of ideas.
That link does not take me to that webpage.
As far as I know Apple do not offer free support aside from information at their website and the Apple Geniuses in their stores.
