Latest drivers cause Audigy SB0090 h

Since a recent (Nov. 9) Microsoft Update suggested Sound Blaster driver update for Windows XP SP2, ostensibly compatible and correct for my hardware, my Audigy MP3+ card hisses loudly and constantly (no popping or crackling). Even when sounds are played through the hiss, the hiss is 80% of the sound. Obviously, something is wrong. I have tried plugging my speakers into various Sound Blaster card audio outputs to no avail. I am unable to successfully, completely uninstall the latest drivers and revert to the original Windows XP drivers supplied on the CD-ROM (circa 2002) despite separately following FAQ guides, uninstalling all drivers in Safe Mode, and reinstalling from my original setup disk. Current drivers from either www.download.com (search "Audigy"), Creative.com's SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_006.exe install successfully... but hiss equally. This most recent driver set, self-identified from Creative's homepage, triggers a blue screen of death when?accessing Control Panel/AudioHQ/EAX Control (remarks file CTOSS2K.SYS). I have never used the analog cable, only digital, and see no logic in reverting to an analog solution when digital drivers were working fine prior to Microsoft's troublesome update.Status:
Asus P4S533WA socket 478 motherboard with latest BIOS;<
Current BIOS worked fine with previous SoundBlaster drivers... no recent BIOS updates prior to changing drivers;<
No BIOS caching or shadowing;<
Motherboard's audio chip disabled in BIOS (and has been for years);<
Intel P4 2.4Ghz processor;<
.5 Gb of RAM;<
56 Gb of free hard disk space;<
Sound Blaster Audigy MP3+ 24-Bit model SB0090 PCI card;<
Sound is set to 48 KHz, 44. causes crackling, 96 Khz only reduces the hiss slightly;<
Moved the Sound Blaster card into various PCI slots, now located in PCI 3 away from my video card;<
The device is working properly and there are no conflicts;<
SB card is using IRQ 8, no conflicts;<
Current "Creative SB Audigy" driver is dated 8//2006, ver 5.2.4.96, Microsoft signed;<
Device instance ID is: PCI\VEN_02&DEV_0004&SUBSYS_00502&REV_03\3&6AAA0&0& 50<
394 firewire port is disabled to free resources;<
There is no modem on my system nor are there any modem drivers to conflict with the SB card's IRQ.<
Please advise. Thank you,?Zlad

Marius if you did swap the other jacks of the speakers in that Line and all of them are doing the same (only one channel), my guess it is that the jack itself is broken. Check the pins to be corectly soldered on the board.

  • Latest drivers and audigy applicati

    hi
i'd like to know ...if i install the lastest driver for the audigy on vista 32 bits, will the applications from danielK's drivers still work with the new driver
i mean that i d like to use the applications which danielk provided for vista and the latest driver.
    did anyone test this

I have been running the Daniel K's drivers on Vista Ultimate 32 bit. I did the download of the new drivers and let them run without first uninstalling Daniel K's stuff. The drivers installed with no issues. The EAX settings, EQ, Speaker Settings, and Soundfont Bank Manager applets all still show an install date of when I did the Daniel K driver and all still are working.

  • Problems with latest drivers for Audigy 2

Here is my problem: I have tried several times to install the newest drivers. However my sound card doesn't install correctly. I dl'ed the drivers and the dvd-audio .exe thinking the dvd-audio is what I needed. It wasn't. The dvd-audio program gives me a error message saying no device is found. Going into the control panel --> sounds and audio settings, shows I have no device installed. Likewise in the device manager the little yellow "!" is there, and windows says multimedia audio controller, nothing more. However, if you try to install drivers, you will get a message saying drivers for the device are there, and will be uninstalled to continue installation. Um, what gives? Am I doing something wrong? The original drivers work and so do the beta AL drivers but the latest I can't get to work.... :smileyindifferent:

The card should have come with a CD. Did you contact your supplier or the store where you got the card, to see if they have the CD for you?

  • Trying to install the latest Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS drivers do not inst

I have tried the autoupdate feature here it says I have installed (Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS, DR release .84.0). I downloaed the 3 latest drivers for my SOund Card (SBA2_EAX4DRV_0303.exe, sba2_pcwdrv_lb__84_55-r.exe and SBA2_BETADRV_US_2_05_0000.exe) when I try to install these it tells me I do not have a Audigy 2 Sound Card and goes no further, can anyone please explain why?
    Thank you.

If you're using a dynamic microphone, the Audigy 2 ZS dri've bay has a jumper which you can change for it to support dynamic microphones instead of electret microphones. However once this is done you won't be able to use electret mics until you've changed the jumper setting back.

  • No sound after installing the latest drivers

After installing the latest drivers for X-fi xtrememusic, 2.8.003 I have no sound. Also my creative console is stuck in Entertainment Mode, it won't switch to any other mode. Help please?

?My best guess is this is some bizarre driver/registry problem, since it mostly works perfect in XP, but barely at all in Vista.
Well, i don't have a solution for you, but if your soundcard + hub act like that even under xp after a few weeks i would suggest to get a replacement, cause there might be a hardware-error that causes your problem. A software/driver problem sounds very unlikely to me. That your having problems under Vista, isn't strange at all, cause there are still no final drivers relaesed for Vista and the support of the hub is rather barebone at the moment. Stormblade

  • Dont install latest drivers!

The latest drivers FUBARED my system, that was after a freash reinstall. Way to go creative

Sorry to hear Creative havent been able to solve their problems with their drivers yet.. if its even possible..
I have had my Fataity board for two years now, and I've always had to adapt my system around the X-Fi to make it work without it producing audio distortions.
Some motherboards work, some not. And it seems its not even chipset dependent, may lay in motherboard BIOS.
I've used the X-Fi card in my old system, Asus A8V. Replaced it after several days of testing and troubleshooting to a MSI-brand board, same VIA chipset. Problems went away.
Same thing happened when I upgraded my system recently.
Had to replace the motherboard again..
I have tried every imaginable bios setting, tried forcing different PCI latency settings (worked for short periods of time, but often resulting in compromised system stability). Also tried all basic troubleshooting like different driver versions, reinstalling OS, trying different drivers and SATA controllers, running the system with bare minimum of hardware and speed to minimize the risk of something else causing the X-Fi to suffer at the hands of the PCI bus..
Using the same X-Fi card in my system now without a hitch.
    Running Vista x64, Abit AB9, 4Gb DDR2, Intel Core Quad Q6660, nVIDIA 7950GT.
Some are lucky, some are not.

  • Latest drivers from Creative and Logitech z- 560's

Hi I have the latest drivers from Creative for my Audigy 2 card running Windows 7 ,but now only my right front and rear left are working , I tried many things but no go any ideas?Thks

Seriously though, this board is lit up with people completely floored that Creative has stopped supporting their hardware with up to date drivers.
    Great work Creative!
People... These days hardware resources are not much to ask from today's motherboards. Performance hit's Nope.
Suggestion... stick with the mobo audio and shut Creative down. What are they going to rely on for revenue if people are not buying SB cards? The Zen? Haaa!
Make some stocks drop, and show Creative where the power is behind their lame a$$ company... DON'T BUY CREATIVE!

  • Latest Drivers +Ctaud2k.

OK so after quite a while of enjoying my audigy 2 card, I install the latest drivers and i suddenly got thrown into BSOD funk.
    Similar to this thread:
    http://forums.creative.com/creativel...d=284065#M7680
Now of course, this is around the same time as the latest nvidia drivers are getting screamed about, so I'm skeptical as to what's going on. In game, surfing the net, moving the mouse over shockwave, random times it would just decide to blue screen me. And it appeared that it had to do with sound. i.e., i switch from internal to external view in a game, which changes sound, and BOOM. The shockwave site I move the mouse which triggers a sound in the presentation and boom. Very weird. *shrug*
Long story short, I tried a bunch of stuff...including rollbacks, system restores, etc...which seemed to really mix up the sound drivers. It would roll back some, but the driver in dxdoag would read a different date than the rest, etc....just blowing me away - so I ended up just doing an XP repair. Then I'd get repeated BSOD's on the XP-repair/install, consistently blaming the ctaud2k.sys file........which i narrow down is the audigy driver. :mansurprised: Interesting.......So I end up having to remove the card for it to finish the XP install, which it does like a charm the first try after removing the card, and then put it back in when XP is a-ok.
Now I'm back to my original disc drivers when i first got the card, i believe jan 2003 drivers. I'd like to reinstall the latest but I'm wondering if anyone else has had issues with the most recent drivers or am I just special? Which wouldnt be the first time.
I may try to install the latest driver release prior to the most recent release, but of course any time I do a tech support request w/a game developer or whathave you, they're going to tell me to install the most recent drivers first before giving me the light of day. So basically, just polling the audience here to see if there's a known issue or what.... Thanks for whatever help anyone might have....

Set the number of channel ? Hardware mixed channels are fixed (because they are hardware obvioulsy).
Why don't you uninstall your drivers and reinstall Li'veDrvPack + what you need ?
You can see how many channels your card is capable on many diagnostic program like sandra, or on applications like winamp, and on some game setup.

  • R9 270X Gaming 2G, unable to use the latest drivers and Mantle

    I just bought a R9 270X Gaming 2G S/N 602-V303-13SB1312109829-398
When I first got the R9 270X, I installed the latest AMD drivers with the full package.
Later I got the, what I found to be, notorious atimkdag.sys BSOD.
I recovered my system partition with Acronis from before I installed the GPU. And installed the drivers found on MSI website which are considerably older than those on AMD’s website. I have not had an atimkdag.sys BSOD since. In fact I think I am using Windows stock drivers as the driver version says 13.251.9001.0, and I think the MSI driver is 13.101.0.0. Not sure how that happened.
Now my understanding is that this GPU should be Mantle enabled, however using Star Swarm Stress Test, which includes Mantle testing, said it found no Mantle enabled GPU. Perhaps because I am using an older driver.
I read somewhere that atimkdag.sys BSOD is linked to AMD Catalyst Control Center. Since I never used that last time I had an AMD GPU, I have disabled it on start-up.
What do you guys think would be the best option here? How can I both enjoy the latest drivers and avoid the notorious atimkdag.sys BSOD. Or do you think I should just stick with the drivers I have, without Mantle enabled. I haven’t actually got any Mantle enabled games at the moment, but are planning to get it though.
It may or may not be important. But I upgraded from Windows 7 to Win 8 Pro then Win 8.1 Pro. Perhaps it is leftover sys files. I noticed in forums that the atimkdag.sys BSOD mostly hit Win 7 systems. Perhaps the reason I am not getting the BSOD now is simply that I am not using AMD Catalyst Control Center, as you would think that if it is left over from Win 7 it should affect both old and latest drivers, right.
    Thanks

Please disregard my previous post asking for help.
This is also a message to other noobs like myself, read the F.A.Q. before you post anything in the forum. I read the F.A.Q. about how to update drivers, how to remove old driver fragments and followed it to the letter.
    https://forum-en.msi.com/faq/article/where-can-i-download-vga-drivers-and-how-do-i-install-t
Now Mantle works and as for the atikmdag.sys BSOD, hopefully I will not experience this now that I completely uninstalled all previous driver files, using Driver Sweeper in Safe Mode. I do not see why I should.
If against odds it happens, then I will come back and ask you guys for help.
    Thanks

  • Need the latest drivers for a Deskjet 895Cse inkjet printer

I wanted to download and install the latest drivers for an HP Desket 895Cse inkjet printer but the only driver updates that are available on your website are for an HP Deskjet 895Cxi.  I've never owned an HP Deskjet 895Cxi inkjet printer; only the HP Deskjet 895Cse inkjet printer.   Do these two models use the same set of drivers or does your website no longer offer updated drivers for an HP Deskjet 895Cse inkjet printer?
I'm planning to address various sized envelopes for Christmas cards which I have done in the past using my older model HP Deskjet 895Cse inkjet printer because my current HP printer; an HP C5280 Photosmart All In One inkjet printer will not allow me to print on odd sized greeting card envelopes; only standard sized business envelopes like a No. 10, No. 11 and a No. 12.
Last night I ordered new inkjet cartridges for my Deskjet 895Cse inkjet printer; a #23 color cartridge and a #45 black cartridge; both cartridges set me back about $70.00 after applying discounts and using a promo coupon code from HP.   I spoke to someone in tech support overseas yesterday who advised me to download the most up to date drivers for my Deskjet 895Cse inkjet printer before I install the new cartridges and begin to address my Christmas card envelopes; about 75 envelopes; front and back.
If there are no new drivers available for my Deskjet 895Cse inkjet printer should I plan to return my new HP inkjet cartridges once I receive them because if my Deskjet 895Cse inkjet printer will not allow me to print on anything unless I install the latest set of drivers for my Desket 895Cse inkjet printer and if there are no new drivers currently available on your website I might as well return my newly ordered cartidges as soon as I receive them by Fedex from HP and get my $70.00 back.   Feedback on this would certainly be appreciated.

Why doesn't the website list the latest drivers for an 895Cse?   Was the Deskjet 895Cse inkjet printer released for sale to the public before the Deskjet 895Cxi inkjet printer or visa versa?   Basically what's the difference between the 2 models?  Finally if I were to install my new cartridges which haven't arrived yet and choose not to install the drivers for the 895Cxi model will my 895Cse printer still work and be able to print?

  • Can I force the bootcamp wizard to skip looking for the bootcamp drivers?  I have already downloaded the latest drivers and loaded them on a FAT usb drive.  All I want is for bootcamp to create the partition and allow me to install windows 8 pro

    Hi Everyone,
Can I force the bootcamp wizard to skip looking for the bootcamp drivers?  I have already downloaded the latest drivers and loaded them on a FAT usb drive.  All I want is for bootcamp to create the partition and allow me to install windows 8 pro.
The bootcamp drivers have been downloaded from apple's website.  Filename:  BootCamp5.0.5033
    I have a iMac 27" late 2013 model.
NOTE:  I have downloaded the drivers manually from apples support site as the bootcamp wizard fails third of the way through the download.
    Appreciate any assistance.
    Regards,
    asdutoit

There is a missing point in this thread, and it is that the Boot Camp drivers for the Late 2013 iMac can only be downloaded from Boot Camp Assistant. The Boot Camp drivers available in the Apple site are not compatible with that iMac.
Delete the Boot Camp drivers from the USB drive, open Boot Camp Assistant and try to download the Boot Camp drivers again. If you get a message telling you that they could not be downloaded, I would try reinstalling OS X through OS X Recovery, by holding down Command and R keys while your Mac is starting up

  • Downloading latest drivers for Palm T/X in Windows 7?

Does anyone know how to download the latest drivers for Palm TX in Windows 7 and then hot sync as well?
    Post relates to: Palm TX

Yes, I do.  Thanks for asking.
Perhaps you're wondering what to do?  Download Palm Desktop 6.2.2 and install it.  Depending on which version of Win7 you have (32bit or 64bit), you will be able to sync via cable/USB or via Wifi.

I am reinstalling W7 on my iMac and keep getting the black screen. I had installed W7 before when using Snow Leapord but W7 doesn't want to install with the latest drivers (v4.0). W7 was working with Lion but I had to uninstall W7 and now I cannot reinstall.

NOTE: Just discovered that Adobe is making a bigger mess than any previously.
They now have a 32-bit uninstaller for Flash '''''AND''''' a separate 64-bit uninstaller for Flash. You will need the 64-bit uninstaller for what you had installed above.
