Latest Flash not working at all in 3.6.16 on Mac 10.4; even reinstalled; what can I do?

No flash is working, not Youtube, games, or the check on Adobe site. (All works fine in Safari)
Completely removed *all* files for firefox, mozilla, adobe, flash; and reinstalled both programs. Still nothing works.
Installed plugin Shockwave/Director 11; that seems to be okay.
Mozilla site says plug in is there and up to date.
Adobe site has no reaction, not even to say missing plug in. (No site says the plug in is missing, it just doesn't work.) If I uninstall flash, sites say plugin is missing. Reinstall, and no message, but still nothing works.
What the heck can I do?

Download the 10.9.3 Combo update and install it. Unplug all peripherals (external drives etc) and exit all apps while it's being installed, reboot afer it completes.

Flash Not Working On All Websites

Hey guys -
I recently upgraded to Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard). Unfortunately, Flash only works on certain websites in both Safari 5.1 and Firefox 6.0.1. For instance, YouTube works, but Flash videos on Barnes & Noble don't.
What I've tried so far:
Upgraded to the most current version of Flash (version 10.3.183.7)
Uninstalled Flash
Reinstalled Flash
Repaired disk permissions
Restarted the Mac
Changed Flash settings (both local and global)
Disabled all internet plug-ins except Flash plug-ins
Tried the Flash 11 beta
Ran Flash Debugger. I get the following errors on certain pages:
Error #2134: Cannot create SharedObject
Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
(I don't know what these errors mean or how to fix them.)
Turned Safari extensions off
Opened Safari in 32-bit mode
Emptied cache and reset Safari
Of course, I've searched Apple Support, Adobe Support, and the web. And so far, this has me stumped. To make matters worse, my wife has an account on this Mac, and she has no problems whatsoever with Flash. Any help would be appreciated.

You can cancel the in-between reboots, make sure you reboot at the end.
Also under the Verify is a preferences file check, show the errors only and later hunt these files down in your User>Library>Preferences folder and move them to the desktop and reboot. The files will get rebuilt, set your preferences and then trash the desktop files.
This should clean you out good, you got some sort of corrupt cache or something as it's only in your user and not the other.

I think this is a LSO, basically a "Flash Cookie" which tracks you across the Internet and "shared" between websites running Flash.
For some reason it can't create it, perhaps the folder/file where they reside is corrupted somehow.
Searching for "Macromedia" with Easy Find revels Flash elements are located in the following areas:
Delete all of these and reinstall Flash.
the users/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player
the users/Library/Preferences
the users /Library/Application Support
Library/Application Support
All else fails, create a new user, transfer your files there using the Drop Box and when you up completely, delete the old user.
I don't think it will come to this, the corrupt preference file is likely your problem.

I had much trouble downloading and installing flash player.
Finally the install just worked but now the flash player only seems
to work for me. The other accounts on the PC cannot see flash
content. We are usig Windows XP home.

Try upgrading to admin (temporarily) for each account and reinstall Flash Player under each, then set them back to regular user accounts.

There's two different versions of Flash. The ActiveX version for IE, and the Plugin version for other browsers. Did you install the correct version? This forum's software doesn't thing that Flash is installed for Firefox or the Plugin is disabled.

Shockwave flash plugin not working at all!! HELP

So, here is my problem, I have windows 8.1 64bit and running the latest mozilla firefox.
I've had a lot of problems with flash player (32bit), videos not working properly, loading very slow.. (i have fast internet, working good) then i updated flash and it totally stoped working.
Resetting Firefox does not work for me. Flash player is not working at all, so i had to uninstall it. i uninstalled both flash player and shockwave player. i tried having only flash player - still not working.
I've already tried these too:
-Uninstalling and re-installing flash player
-Uninstalling and re-installing in Safe Mode
-Turning off hardware acceleration in both Firefox and flash player
-i have updated all drivers on my computer
Still not working at all! WHY?

Flash player 11.0.1.152 not working on all sites. Using Mac OS 10.5.8

What am I missing? Flash didn't work properly on previous version either. I use google chrome primarily but flash does not work on all sites using Firefox or Safari either. I have a Macbook Pro operating on 10.5.8. I'm sure it's probably a simple fix but I just haven't found it. Appreciate any help on the matter.

I have spent countless hours trying to get my flash player working and have tried EVERY kind of possible answer through many forums and websites to solve this. Does adobe have anything currently that will solve this flash player problem?? I have the lastest version of Safari 5.1.1. and I have the lastest version of adobe flash player 11.0.1.152, I have even tried the debugging installs adobe put out for flash player. I have tried the "working around lion flash player video thing" where you try private browsing. I still get my local storage pop up message whenever I try and watch a you tube or any site that has flash video on it, that flash player settings box still pops up and is stuck on my screen and I cant click allow or deny or get it off. I just did the update to version 5.2 on our ATV2 and now I'm having the exact same problem as the OP- all attempts to access any iTunes services i.e. Movies or TV result in dropping back to the ATV Main menu. Per Winston's suggestion, I logged out of iTunes and then tried to log back in. I am getting a message "the server is not responding- please try again later".
FWIW- all my non-iTunes services on the ATV are working fine- i.e. Netflix and YouTube.
Sounds like the update has overwhelmed the Apple servers.

I just had the same problem. And I found the solution, on Youtube.
The problem is that these ******** at apple designed the battery compartement, the distance between metal contacts too big.
That means the batteries plus or minus poles are not touching the corresponding contacts in the mouses battery compartement.
Most likely the battery doesn't get pushed up to touch the plus contacts.
I used a fingernail to push the battery up and tadaa, the green LED came on.
The guy in the Youtube video just put some folded aluminium foil under the minus poles for bridging the gap.

Upgrade to Snow Leopard - it's compatible with the latest version of iTunes, and still supports PowerPC applications.

Snow Leopard is required if you wanted to upgrade to Lion, anyway, which you may want to in the future if the latest version of iTunes no longer supports Snow Leopard.

Java does not work at all upon using the update manager to update to firefox 3.6.10 for Ubuntu 9.0.4

websites that use java do not work at all anymore, when they worked just fine before the updating thru update manager. e.g. hulu website cannot play any of the shows.
i can give the folder of bookmarked pages i tried.
how to do that on here, i've yet to see if possible.
i can even give saved text from the terminal concerning certain attempts.
when i updated thru update manager, it gave some weird java plugin that wasn't there before "The IcedTea Web Browser Plugin IcedTea6 Java Web Browser Plugin (execution of applets on webpages)".
i uninstalled this as instructed by an answer found in one of the pages i saved, cuz it was conflicting w/another java program the updater said i needed. right now, i don't remember for sure what it was. it perhaps was realplayer flash or Java itself. w/all the hours/days of searching i put in, it's difficult if not downright impossible for me to remember all the specifics of what i tried.
i've searched throughout many webpages (including many searches on mozilla, ubuntu, java, etc) for instruction in fixing the problem.
oh, and incidentally, on the Java site, when i try the verify test of Java, firefox pops up with that yellow bar right below the slew of tabbed website windows, giving the statement "additional plugins are required to display all the media on this page. (w/link to) install missing plugins ." which is what i do, go thru the requesting plugin installation. it comes up with, guess what, the IcedTea Java Plugin. i click on the 'next' in the "Plugin Finder Service" box that pops up, & all it gives me is "No plugins were installed. IcedTea ...Plugin failed. and the link 'find out more about plugins or manually find missing plugins'". the link takes me to some of the very things/plugins that wouldn't install in the first place. the Java test failure is a LOL funny, as what plugin it is saying is required (IcedTea) is a recommended alternate program to display the very test in the first place.
i followed the given instructions on those many searched pages, in every case (barring what i may have just plain missed), but to no avail.
i've even gone to the point of trying to reinstall the previous 3.5.13 firefox version, from mozilla site. even that wouldn't install.
i've tried installing Java for my sys direct from it's site. nada.
now it's time for me to post the problem & perhaps someone will come up with some kind of "dummy" way to fix it.
until then many sites a regularly use are totally useless to me on this fast puter.
the only way i can get to use such sites, are two choices: 1. use a dinosaur laptop, which is slower than molasses & cannot handle to any streaming stuff, or 2. use an available internet access puter at the library. but useage for ea person per day is limited to only one hour a day. and one can end up waiting for an hour or more ( in the busiest periods) to even get to use one.
so, is there anyone at all, who knows any for-sure working fix for this problem?

Flash not working in Safari 5

Flash has been buggy for me in Safari 5, ever since I updated the Flash player last week to "10.1 r53". Either Flash files don't play at all, or just the audio plays without video.
Per the instructions on these boards, I have:
1. reset Safari
2. uninstalled flash player
3. installed the flash player
4. repaired permissions
5. restarted
The issue is still there. Firefox plays Flash files, YouTube, etc. just fine. Safari does not.
I'm running SL 10.6.4, latest Software Updates.
Any suggestions?

I created a new account. Flash works in the new account. That's cool, but I really don't want to re-locate all my prefs, etc., just for a buggy plugin.
So, I next...
1. grabbed the Safari plist from the new account
2. logged out of the new account
3. logged into the old account (where Flash does not work)
4. moved the old account's com.apple.safari plist file out of the Preferences folder
5. moved the clean Safari plist file (from the new account) into the Preferences folder
6. reset and restarted Safari
7. Flash worked...for about two minutes. I tested on YouTube, Vimeo and Google Analytics. Back to Flash not working in Safari.
I then tried repeating the earlier steps.
1. reset Safari
2. uninstall flash player
3. install flash player
4. repaired permissions
5. restarted
Still doesn't work.
Just one other thing to note: whenever I pull up a web page with Flash, I get a "file not found" error in Safari's activity monitor (link is below)...could this be an error with Adobe's website rather than a Safari-permission thing?

6220 classic - camera flash not working

Hi,
I have a problem with the 6220 classic's camera flash. When I'm taking pictures, sometimes it does not work at all - no matter if I set the flash mode to "always on" or "red eye".
What bugs me is the fact that the flash sometimes decides to work, and sometimes it doesn't. At first, when I tried the camera, the flash was always working (IIRC). Now, it rarely works - sometimes, a photo session seems to work and flash goes off every time, but then, at the next session, I just can't get it to work (by session, I mean taking a bunch of pictures and then turning off the camera mode by turning the switch on the phone).
I tried to figure out what might be going on. At first I tried the phone in a pitch dark place - still, the flash is silent. Then I tried restarting the phone. No luck.
Any ideas what else I might try (maybe trying to fully-charge the phone and then test the flash, maybe reverting the phone to factory settings), before I turn the phone to service?

did you try to update your phone to the latest firmware?

make sure you always do a back up of your data before doing any of this. if this continues to happen even after update i would take it to nokia care for them to have a look.
