Latest Internet Explore for the OS.9.0.4

What's the latest version for the Internet Explore for the OS.9.0.4?
I have a Explore 5.1.6 and accessing certain site makes the whole computer freeze.

Internet Explorer stalls

I have the newest Flashplayer, newly installed, AND the latest Internet Explorer. (operating system: Windows Vista). When I open a Flash site I ALWAYS have to load twice (load, then refresh) to see the content. No error message, site seems to load--but screen is empty, and these steps MUST be repeated once more to see content. I do not want a viewer to leave a "blank" page. This never happens in Firefox, and is a new problem since maybe April. I looked at yr online docs, reloaded my flashplayer many times, checked all security issues, other forums, etc. I am stumped. Working with internet explorer

I know mac no longer supports internet explorer. I need to access applications from my place of employment at home that apparently only work with internet explorer.
I can partially access the website using firefox, safari, netscape,and the latest internet explorer for macs (5.2), but can't do anything with it. The IT guy at my place of employment tried to help me configure the internet explorer, but says it's old & he couldn't do it. Am I out of luck?

Just a question: is your work computer a PC? If it is, I recommend biting the bullet and signing up for "Go to My PC" if you haven't already. I assume if you're a Mac user you probably have broadband internet at home and at work. If you use GTMPC you can operate your PC right from your home Mac, and process your stuff from home, save it on your work PC, and you're good to go! What you are running into is unfortunately rather common in business, education, and government. What happened is that your school computerized their operations in the late 1990s to early 2000s, when Internet Explorer on Windows XP was the most common web browser. Websites were coded to take advantage of technologies that are unique to IE. Once all these institutions and businesses finished their work, they thought they were done and they moved on.
But in the time since then, the world changed around them. The Web moved towards "standards compliance," which means writing web sites for the CSS3 and HTML5 standards. Not for old Microsoft-only Internet Explorer features. If a web site is standards compliant, it will work on any browser that is also standards compliant. That would include every popular browser today: Apple Safari, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome. (As well as the latest Internet Explorer for Windows, which is much better than it used to be.)
Standards compliance was a wonderful revolution, because it meant we could use any browser. It also paved the way for the iOS and Android mobile device boom, since they need to use mobile web browsers and those are not Internet Explorer.
The big problem is that your institution, like many others in education, business, and government, either doesn't want to upgrade their systems or doesn't have the budget. The system they built in 1996 or 2002 is being maintained, but it isn't being modernized. Therefore, it is not standards compliant. That's why it doesn't work with Firefox or Safari.
I am sure that both you and they have noticed that they have fallen behind, because it's very easy to show this. If you go to any modern web site...Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Yahoo, Dropbox, every photo sharing site, every web forum, etc. it is extremely easy to upload attachments no matter what web browser you use.
Of course, they'll get very defensive if you try to tell them that their systems are totally out of date and any browser should be able to upload attachments. Even if that's true, they may not be able to overhaul their systems any time soon. Maybe they would like to, but they can't get the funding. The problem for them is that more and more devices are being used on their network which don't have Internet Explorer, like Macs, phones, and tablets, and it's revealing the limitations of their system.
That's the situation. It won't be easy to fix because it requires that the school's systems be modernized. But they really need to be modernized, because as we saw, attachments are no problem on multiple browsers on all the other web sites we use every day.
If they could update their systems, the benefits would be significant. If their web site became standards compliant, it would automatically support smartphones, tablets, and Mac web browsers with probably very little extra work.

Firefox will no longer play videos and keeps telling me to download the latest version of Adobe Flashplayer which I have done 5 times but still get the same message when I try to play videos. I can play videos on Internet Explorer and Google Chrome .

Recently when I try to play a video on Firefox I get the same message that I need to download the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. At least 5 times I have downloaded Adobe Flash Player 11 Active X and Adobe Flash Player Plugin 64 bit. Problem is that even though I have the latest version I still get the same message when I try to watch videos on Firefox. The frustrating thing is I can watch videos on Internet Explorer and Google Chrome as well as on Safari. How does that make sense?

My system needs internet explorer for a application I need to down load, however I need to down load the latest yahoo tool bar for internet explorer to work properly and firefox will not allow the down load of yahoo toolbar. How do I fix this?

I have not used Internet explorer since downloading firefox and I need IE for a trading platform that I need to use. In order to get IE working I apparently need to down load the latest version of Yahoo toolbar, however when I try to down load the tool bar Firefox will not allow the down load of that file.

Trying to install latest version of Flash for Firefox on WinXP, get Internet Explorer Script Error

I'm trying to install the latest version of Flash (filename install_flashplayer11x32_mssd_aih.exe), browser = Firefox 14 (current), OS = Windows XP. I've tried multiple times, making sure to disable Norton Antivirus Autoprotect first.
At some point along the process - either during download or during installation - I get the following error message:

Whether I answer [yes] or [no] the result is the same - the program hangs. It does not close, and when I close it manually it asks if I really want to stop it. But if I leave it there, nothing happens.
Per advice of the website, I uninstalled Flash in order to start over fresh. What that means is that, instead of having an outdated version of Flash, I now have none.
I've tried to RTFM but searches for this error come up empty. I'm curious why Internet Explorer is being involved in this to begin with. But mostly, I'm just curious how to get this thing to work.

We're investigating this issue and we'd like to get some additional details. I'd appreciate if anyone experiencing these errors could do the following steps:
Download the Flash Player installer
Open a command prompt and navigate to the installer location (eg. "cd c:\users\username\downloads\")
Run the installer, using a “/debug”.argument (eg. “install_flashplayer11x32ax_chrd_aih.exe /debug”)
Once the installer runs and the error is reproduced, a file named “host.developer.log” will be created in your system’s temp folder.
You can quickly access the temp folder by clicking on Start > Run, then type "%temp%".
Locate the "host.developer.log" file and either post the contents in a reply or send directly to [email protected]
Along with the debug log, please include the following info:
Operating System (if you're on XP, what service pack do you have installed)
Browser
Network proxy setup (if applicable)

cant seem to find out how to get the latest versions of Internet Explorer to be included in software updates? Do you have to download this separately and install manually?

Like Henrik said, make sure you have the Classifications selected that you want to address. IE 11 is the current browser, that was added to the catalog a few months back. If you are searching for this month you wont find it.

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
1. Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server. Any difference? If not...
2. Clear Firefox's Cache Completely

On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
3. If needed, remove the site's cookies in this dialog
While viewing a page on the site, right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
