Latest iTunes update won't install correctly

Anyone else having problems installing the latest update? 11.1.4 64bit Not only will it not install (trying to access Registry incorrectly), but has stopped iTunes working completely. Have tried manual installs, uninstalling & reinstalling from website and have lost it completely. anyone else having this rob;em?
I am running Windows 7

There have been multiple threads in the community that report this problem. I had to restore both a desktop and a laptop to an earlier restore point and rollback to the earlier version of iTunes (11.1.3). Both machines run Windows 7 64-bit OS.  The install seems to lose MSVCR80.DLL. Others report good results by removing all Apple apps from the Control Panel and reinstalling iTunes from a fresh website download.

I have Windows 7 64bit and the latest update for iTunes corrupted my computer. It won't install and I can not launch iTunes. I tried uninstalling iTunes and all of it's components but Apple Mobile device Support will not uninstall. I've rebooted several times and tried to install the latest version several times only to be met with the following error messages:
Install failed "APS DAEMON.EXE error. MSVCR80.dll missing" and "iTunes not installed correctly. Error 7 (windows error 1236)"
    What do I do now?

This forum is for questions from those managing sites on iTunes U, Apple's service for colleges and universities to post educational material in the iTunes Store. You'll be most likely to get help with this issue if you go to the general iTunes for Windows forum, where this subject has been addressed in a number of threads.

  • ITunes update did not install correctly?

I started my iTunes update and half way through I lost my internet connection.  I now get a message (update installed incorrectly, reinstall iTunes)  How do I fix this?  I can't find the latest update anywhere.

  • Latest Tiger Updates Won't Install!

I reloaded OS 10.4 on my iMac G5 to resolve an ongoing, and unanswered -by Apple technical support- problem with my 'Internet Connect' applet not opening.
I successfully reformatted my hardrive with primary (132 GB) and secondary (11GB) partitions using the recommended journaled filing system.
When I tried to install the OS 10.4.7 Update, I got the MicroSoft-like cryptic message, 'You cannot install Mac OSX (PowerPC) Update on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update.'
No corrective actions to '... meet the requirements' is provided, of course.
I also cannot update to OS X 10.4.3 . . . I get the same "Bill Gates Is Here To Serve You" message, sans the '(PowerPC)' notation. I CAN upgrade to OS X 10.4.1 but that appears to be it.
The technical notes associated with the two Updates state that they will update all Tiger OS's from 10.4 upwards.
Do I have to wait for Leopard this Spring?

There are two ways to update to Mac OS X 10.4.7: Use Software Update or the standalone installer. You only need to use one of these methods to update your computer.
    Automatic Software Update
Software Update, located in the Apple menu, will automatically download the latest Apple software. (Software Update might have linked you to this article to learn more about the update.) Note that the update's size may vary from computer to computer when installed using Software Update. Some updates must be installed prior to others, soyou may need to run Software Update more than once to get all of the available updates.
    Standalone installer
Download the update installer and run it manually. This a useful option when you need to update multiple computers but only want to download the update once. Two versions of the standalone installer are available from Apple Downloads: a delta and combo.
The delta update installer (detailed in a different article) updates Mac OS X 10.4.6 to 10.4.7.
The combo update installer for PowerPC and Intel-based Macs (described here) updates Mac OS X 10.4, 10.4.1, 10.4.2, 10.4.3, 10.4.4, 10.4.5, or 10.4.6 to 10.4.7.
    Improvements
This update offers many improvements. For a list of some of them, see About the Mac OS X 10.4.7 Update (delta).

  • A few weeks ago I had to reinstall itunes on my PC because the latest itunes update did not install properly.  Ever since doing that something called Mobile Me keeps popping up whenever I open email (outlook) and slowing it down. How do I remove MobileMe

A few weeks ago an itunes upgrade did not install properly on my PC so I had to uninstall itunes and everything associated with it.  I was able to reinstall itunes and it works fine including syncing with my ipod.  However, now whenever I open my email (outlook) a box pops up stating MobileMe Services has stooped working. This happens a couple of times after I click to close the program.  This a nusance and really slows down getting to my email.  From what I've found MobileMe was something that used to be used by itunes to sync mobile devices but is no longer used by itunes.  I can't find a way to remove this MobileMe from my PC.  I've tried going into Contol Panel then Programs and Features to uninstall it but there is no button there to uninstall it.  Any suggestions on how this can be removed?

Do you have a backup that you can restore from? Your old hard drive seems to be the problem.

  • ITunes update won't work correctly

So i went into iTunes to download a preordered album and it downloaded. Then a little window opened saying that i needed to update to like iTunes 11.0. So i allow it to update and once it gets to like 3/4 of the way done with updating it has the ERROR 2324 thing. So i figured, ok well this has happened to me like twice before. I'll just uninstall it and reinstall it. And what do you know? There is an error uninstalling iTunes. So i can't update iTunes, I can't open iTunes, and i can't uninstall iTunes either. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME ITUNES DOES THIS EVERY TIME IT UPDATES AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY!

I've had the same problem..when I got the message that an update was available, I clicked "download"  It tried to download version 11.0.3.42x64 and it got almost finished downloading , then stopped and gave the same "error 2324".  The green "download status"  line did a wierd backward motion, indicating it was uninstalling something.  So I tried to uninstall i-tunes completely from the computer and it gave me the same '2324 error' message.  Now it won't uninstall or install or open i-tunes.  When I try to open it by clicking on the the shortcut, it gives this message--"explorer. EXE, the item referred to in this shortcut cannnot be accessed.  You may not have the appropriate permissions".
I have an appt set up to get a phone call from tech help on May 23/13 to discuss it....

  • The latest iTunes update will not install.

    I get an error message,
    Program:c\Programfiles R6034
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly. Please contact the applications support team for more information.
I removed iTunes and attempted to reinstall, no luck.
I also tried a system restore but it would not restore to an earlier point.  Nothing was changed.
An unspecified error occurred during system restore.
I have had no problems with previous updates to iTunes

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • Help need please! iTunes update won't install on Vista

Everytime I try to update or reinstall iTunes when Vista restarts it goes into safe mode then "repair". The only way I can then recover my PC is to roll back to an older instance of Vista without iTunes installed. I have repeated this process several times without success.
One hint maybe is that before updating iTunes I got this message: The file "itune library.itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of itunes".
    Help please!

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.
