Latest model in MacBook Pro

Hi,
Which is the latest model in MacBook Pro? Plus, is there any news that MacBook Pro will be upgraded or outdated?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
The most recent MacBook Pro is the Mid 2012 MacBook Pro. However, MacBooks Pro with Retina display received an update early 2013, but it's not considered as a new computer.
We don't know when a new MacBook will be released, but it hasn't been updated for more than a year

Apple states that (of the MBP lines) it has to be from Mid/Late 2007 or later.  yours seems to be right on the line.
    Apple says
If you are running Lion, you can find out if your current Mac qualifies by clicking the Apple icon at the top left of your screen, choosing About This Mac, then clicking More Info.
you must also have the latest version of Snow Leapord or Lion

    1. The scrolling, as far as I've been able to determine, is by using the slide bar to the right of most diplays. There are no up or down arrows that allow slow movement
    2. The top and botton toolbars are not visible. The top one appears when you point the arrow to the top of the screen but the same doesn't work well if at all pointing the cursor to the bottom.
    3. When downloading, something jumps to the upper right of the screen. I could point and click it and get a diplay if my downloads. I was attempting to fix some of the above. Now the little thing jumps off the screen and I can't get to it.
4I was trying to installMacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update 2.3. I got message it couldn't be installed on my system.
    5. The red yellow and blue bullets that allow shutting down, minimizing and maximizing are missing on most open windows.
Can you do something about these problems
It's problematical that one can't communicate directly with Apple to resolve these problems

1: I'm scrolling this page right now using the arrow keys.
2: Press the escape (esc) key to exit full-screen mode. Select Apple menu > Dock > Turn Hiding Off.
    3: ???
4: That's because you downloaded an update for another model.
    5: See 2.

When you see a beachball cursor or the slowness is especially bad, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.

  • Do current models of MacBook Pro have Intel 2ND GENERATION core processors?

I have observed the tech specs on numerous models of MacBook Pro, but it says nothing about 2nd generation processors. I assumed that they did have 2nd gen processors as the image they use to advertise the processor is for the 2nd gen series of Intel core processors. I just wanted to confirm this belief.

Ah, OK, thanks. So the "generations" are the architectures (Nehalem, Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge) rather than the individual Core updates.

  • Just installed Mountain Lion Latest Version on MacBook Pro Mid 2010

I want to make sure, that after i spend so much money on a high end mac book pro in December of 2010, that now i can't even use the feature of apple tv mirror because my lap top has to be early 2011 or later. Please confirm Apple Gurus so that i can be sure that im didn't do anything wrong. I have the latest Apple Tv but my MacBook Pro 17 was purchased in dec. 2010. which makes it a macbook pro mid 2010. If the case is i can't utilize the mirror for my desktop to show in apple tv, then why does it work with itunes and every other device? so weird, plus i need to make sure i've done all the troubleshooting possible so then i go ahead to the next step and buy the USB to HDMI Cable that way i can do it the old way since my mac book pro high end is now considered old. So dissapointed.

Look at this link.  It indicates that a third party application will allow you to use it:

  • What's the latest os for macbook pro 2.1

I have a MacBook Pro 2.1 which I believe is the first 17" aluminum model from 2006. I need to know if it would run on Mountain Lion. Apple system requirements state that the earliest MBP to qualify is from mid to late 2007. It currently has OS10.6.8 with 4 Gb of RAM -ok, 3.3. Any suggestions, ideas and comments are welcome. If not, any recommendation for a trusted source to obtain Lion will do.

According to the MacTracker database, a MacBook Pro 2,1 is limited to 10.7 Lion. There are several posts in other forums here that you can get Lion for about US$20 by calling Apple at 1-800-MY-APPLE and asking for it. They put the order on your credit card and give you a code that gets you AppStore access to Lion.
The MPB 3,1 changed more than the procesor. They upgraded to the NVIDEA Geforce 8600M GT video chipset from the ATI X1600. That seems to be the determining factor in several Mac models when it comes to runing Mtn Lion.
You may need to add RAM. Some early MBPs shipped with only 1GB RAM and Apple says the minimum for Lion is 2GB, and that's "minimum." Yours can handle up to 3GB RAM.

  • First model unibody macbook pro is dead help!

I have the first model of the unibody macbook pros. It started to get reall slow and id get that pinwheel often when using it. I transfered all of my important files to an external harddrive when i noticed it was starting to die. I then started messing around in disk utility at the startup menu and pretty much erased everything off the harddrive because now i get a flashing grey question mark folder at startup. I do have mountain lion installed on a usb drive and when i plug that in and boot up i get the disk utility, install osx, backup with time machine, and safari options. But nothing i do on disk utility  will complete i keep getting errors and when i try to install mountain lion when i get to where you have to pick where you want to install it all thats there is the usb drive that mountain lion is installed on. I need help

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Your hard drive is damaged. it looks like it's not working properly, so you need to change it.
You can get another hard drive at OWC > http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/hard-drives/2.5-Notebook/ Your MacBook needs a 2'5" SATA II hard drive. You can filter the hard drives by the MacBook Pro model, so you can get the hard drives that are compatible with your MacBook. 7200 rpm hard drives will give you extra performance

  • How often are new models of MacBook Pros released?

I want to get a new MacBook Pro, but I'm not sure whether or not i should wait til a new model comes out.

There's no set schedule. The MacBook Pro (non-retina) was last updated in summer 2012 so it's overdue for a refresh. I would check http://buyersguide.macrumors.com.
If you can wait a few weeks, I would.

  • HT201343 I have a Late 2011 model 13' Macbook Pro and i purchased Apple TV because it should support Airplay mirroring.  It says i should have the airplay icon on my menu bar but it does not appear.

According to the help page i was viewing my Late 2011 13' MacBook Pro should support Airplay Mirroring.  However the airplay icon does not appear on my menu bar like i says it should and when i go to System prefereneces>Display nothing appears there about Mirroring as well (like it says it should).  The help page specifically says that Late 2011 MacBook Pros should support Mirroring etc...
    Any suggestions?  I'm all ears...

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Airplay needs 10.8 or later, you need to update your operating system.

  • How much does it cost to replace the late 2013 model Retina Macbook Pro battery?

The page on Apple's website isn't very clear: www.apple.com/batteries/replacements.html
I just bought my first Mac computer ever and I'm loving it -- and the battery life is phenomenal. I'm just worried that in a year it'll be half of what it is now which would not be unlike any other non-Mac laptop, but I really like the battery life this Mac gives.
So I'm wondering, at that point, how much would it cost to have the battery replaced? Does AppleCare include a battery replacement? I know that it's not exactly something I want to replace myself, so how much would it cost to have the Apple Store replace it, if not?

Thanks for the response. I'm worried partially about voiding the warranty if I remove it, and iFixIt's teardown of the latest 2013 Retina model suggests that it may be quite difficult to do without breaking other components...
If they wouldn't do it for free, is $129 the price of a battery, or the price of battery and replacement?

  • How do you transfer video from a miniDV camcorder to the 2011 model of MacBook Pro

I recently found an old miniDV camcorder that was stored in my house from several years ago.  There is video on the camcorder that I would like to import into my MacBook.  However, the miniDV has a firewire connector and my MacBook does not.  Is there a simple way to import the data to my MacBook?

If your MacBook has Thunderbolt, you can get a Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter which should give you the connectibity you need.
