Latest Nokia Messaging (Nokia Email) can't silence...

This latest Nokia Messaging (Nokia Email) push email client has broken something that worked in last release. I don't know if other people are getting the same issue. But I am unable to silence the notifications alerts for new emails. Whether my phone is already locked or not or forced lock or unlock at the time, touching the homscreen doesn't disarm the mp3 which carrys on playing for 3.XX mins etc... even if I open email from the homescreen widget to run the program.
Computers must be male. As soon as you commit to one you realize that if you had waited a little longer, you could have obtained a better model. In order to get their attention, you have to turn them on. Big power surges knock them out for the rest of the day.

Same here using a 5800.
Logged into the Email website and my trial has expired. I contacted my operator (Orange UK) and they offer a push email service for £5 a month but all it does is send you an MMS with your email (doesn't even support HTML) which is rubbish. I was expecting it to use the Nokia Messaging app.
I'm getting so frustrated with Nokia lately. While people are kicking and screaming on the forums asking for help, they're handing out silly balloons in London to annoy HTC.

  • Nokia Messaging push email not working

Hey, i am using a Nokia C3, already subscribed to a nokia messaging service through the operator. Using communities, mail and chat are all ok, except the push email. The push email is not working, sometimes it works, but mostly its not working. I tested to send email from my PC and the email never arrive on my phone. But when i open the mail application and synch, the email will be there. So, the push mail is not working. I set it up correctly i guess, i already set the settings to 'follow my account setting' and the account setting update inbox 'very fast'.
When first using this phone i use an "A" operator, subscribed to nokia messaging service, and then register the email in the mail application. Several week ago i changed to operator "B", and already removed the email and re-adding again. Any solution? Thanks before..

  • Nokia Messaging: Sent emails are not saved on the ...

    Hi,
I use Nokia messaging (the latest -13 version) on a Nokia 5800. The server is a Imap server, not one of the automatically detected email providers. Sending and receiving of messages works. Unfortunately the messages are only saved locally on my phone, not on the server. How can I change that? How to I specifiy in which folder the messages are to be saved?

If you have performed a sync with the device since you restored this old backup, then don't bother looking for another backup. iTunes writes over the last backup each time you sync. If you were handling contacts in iCloud, you would find them by logging into iCloud. Or you can check settings and iCloud and see if the button it on for Contacts. Otherwise it might have been on the computer, if you had a program that syncs with iTunes and handles contacts, depending on the computer system you use. If Windows, it would be Windows Contacts or Outlook. If a Mac, there is a Mac Address book as well.

  • Nokia Messaging - Same email keeps om comming endl...

I am using Nokia Messaging for more then a year.
Today I have received one email 20 times and it keeps on comming.
The prorams keeps on revceiving the same email.
I tried to exit the program or stop it but the emails keeps arriving more and more.
The phone connects to the internet every 2 min (it is set to 30 minintervals)
I deleted the email from the POP server at my ISP but it did not help.
    I restarted the phone - E71 - nothing helps.
On my outlook the email arrived only once.
    What can I do?

    Hi Jeremiahn!
    Thanks for the reply!
As mail client on my PC i am referring to Pegasus Mail (http://www.pmail.com/) It's a similar program to Windows Mail or Outlook Express in Windows.I get an error about wrong user details, same as on my phone. I am 100% sure that the login details that I inserted are correct but somehow it appears the password or username got "corrupted" or locked my mail account. I can login to the Messaging account ([email protected]) with no problems at all. I already contacted my ISP but havent got any reply yet.

  • Nokia E5 Yahoo Email can not setup for Nokia Messa...

    Hi
I have added my hotmail through email.nokia.com successfully, and on my phone as well, everything working fine.  When I tried to add my Yahoo mail on email.nokia.com, it says I have to add it on my Phone.
I added on the phone, same process as my Hotmail. Yahoo email did get setup on my phone, but only works when I open it, and it will try to get new mails, as soon as I close it, it will disconnect, so not a real push mail. So it's still not showing under email.nokia.com after I setup on my phone.
Any idea? I bought this mobile because of this, if it's not working, I def need find a way to refund and get Blackberry
    Thanks

Ahhh after some research and trail and error.. (hours of it)... I got a work around!!! I tried it for gmail and it works fine now!! Below is what you do:-
On inital stage please type dont type correct yahoo, gmail, hotmail or other email ID "
for example if ur id is ****@hotmail.com that type ****@abc.com insted of hotmail. and correct it on second stage.
Go to Mail on your phone  - Options - Settings -  scroll down to email - Options - New Mailbox
Click - start and then NO to allow connections (that stops Nokia Messaging swinging into control)
Now enter your hotmail address except do not put @hotmail.com at the end.  Put @abc.com
e..g. if you email is *****@hotmail.com then enter mailto:*****@abc.com
Now enter your password - press OK
Now you will get an OPTION to define settings and it will allow you to manually set the POP3 or IMAP
Now put in your correct email id and passwd while setting the IMAP. for gmail use the following >
Enter 'imap.gmail.com' as the incoming mail server, Select 'SSL/TLS' for your security (ports) and define your port as '993.'
Enter 'smtp.gmail.com' as the outgoing mail server,Select 'StartTLS' for your security (ports) and define your port as '587.'
Save it... and you will say Wow!!! that worked!!!
    Atleast it worked for me!!!

  • Pls help - i cant access nokia messaging nokia 630...

Hello there i have been trying everything to get nokia messaging on my mobile phone (nokia 6303) but i just cant seem to download it. It says it is pre-installed on the device but its not and i cant even down load it from the ovi store because it doesnt show up :s I live in england where the phone was purchased (Argos)
    Any ideas?
    Daniel

Have you got the 6303 or 6303i. The 6303i has Nokia Messaging built in I think.
If it's the 6303i you won't see an app called Nokia Messaging on the phone though, you just go to the Email and set up an email account. If it's compatible with NM then it will use the NM service.
Otherwise, I'm not sure you can get Nokia Messaging as a download for S40 phones. Though you could try updating the firmware and see if it adds it.

  • TS3274 Get a message on emails "can't send or receive emails; server failed

Before sending and after receiving an email I get a message "cannot receive email server failed" / I can hit "ok" and the email sends anyway; how can I fix this aggravating message?

    Hello, Gthomp.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
There could be a couple causes for this and I will include a couple solutions.  Sometimes the account credentials need to be authenticated and can cause this message.  Try forcing all applications to close and power cycle the device.  Two step verification may be enabled causing this error, try checking if this feature is enabled, disable and test.  The last solutions I could recommend would be in the second article and third article below.
iOS: Force an app to close

    iOS: Troubleshooting Mail

iOS: Gmail account will not connect to Gmail server

  • Nokia Messaging & E71

    1. Installed latest Nokia Messaging (Push email service).
    2. When I go in "Contacts" menu, in contextual menu "Send Email" nothing happens. With the built-in email I could send email from "Contacts" but not with Nokia Messaging.
(this is the contextual menu I'm reffering - image taken from User Manual)
    Questions:
    1. Is there a setting I missed?
    2. It's a bug in Nokia Messaging?
    3. It's a weak integration with Nokia E71 main OS?
Thank you and I apologise for my English - i'm in begginers class

Firstly, I am not sure if I understand your problem correctly: I cant see you picture: what exactly do you do to get to contextual menu "Send Email" and in which application is that: NM or Contacts?
What firmware do you have ?
I have 200.21.118 and the latest Nokia Messaging and MFE and it works fine.
When inside the contacts application, select a contact: now there are 2 ways:
    1. Go into the contact, Here again there are two options:
    a) select a  non email fieldptions/Create message/Email: all email accounts of the contact are listed, select one, then you will have the option to select any email address to send from: it will show Email (default) and your MFE email account if you have one.
    b) select an email field: it will show email addresses you can send from : Email (default) and your MFE email account if you have one.
    2. Select Send/Email: you will have the option to select any email addresses to send from: either from MFE or Nokia Messaging
Default email can be set in Nokia Messaging / Settings / General

  • Nokia Messaging for 5233 or 5230 for email.

I am planning to buy either 5233 or 5230. Can anyone tell me if either of them support Nokia Messaging for emails.?

would scratch using nokia messaging and just set up your email as imap in the email client directly.

  • Nokia Messaging not working on N97 - Can't seem to...

Hi everybody, this is my first post so I'll try to be as brief and descriptive as possible. I have tried countless email clients; nokia messaging, nokia email, mail for exchange, and none seem to work properly. The email seems to set up properly, it then says the mailbox has been defined and is now in the messaging place where the inbox and stuff is. So after that i would go into the mailbox by going into messaging, then 'hotmail.com' then it would ask me to connect, so I would let it, it would get all my emails from my inbox but when i choose to view them theres no option to display as html.
By the way after setting up my email, when going back to applications and looking at where it has 'Email' and 'Email Setup' clicking on email goes straight to the setup and starts all over again. Isn't it supposed to say 'Email settings'.
So anyway all i want to have is email with HTML, because at the moment when i recieve emails especially from ebay and facebook, it's so hard to see what the email's actually about. So please any help would be greatly appreciated. Please and thanks.

Try going into messaging-settings-email-mailboxes-hotmail-E-mail retrieval-set toMsgs.& attachments. make sure in settings-other, that memory in use is set to E or F and NOT C.
Also try this, it's just like the desktop version and sets another maibox up for you, but you have to sync manually, I find it useful

  • Nokia Messaging wont use WiFi-Connection

Im using version 9.6.0.12 of Nokia Messaging for emails on my N96 in german. The phone firmware is version 30.101.
Now the problem is: Ive configured my default access point so that every application first checks if there is one of my known WLANs in range, and if not, uses UMTS to connect to the web.
This works fine with most apps... but Nokia Messaging just ignores it and always establishes a UMTS connection when Ive set its access point to "Default".
I can force Nokia Messaging to use WiFi when I go to "settings -> general -> service info -> access point" and choose one of my WLANs there (instead of "Default"). But it is very impractical to change this setting every time I move to another location.
Is this a bug or is there some way to fix it?

I have the same problem in my x6-00, although i can live without messaging, have all my email accounts configured and use them manually with wifi.
However, the problem is that the lonely planet and michelin guides in the ovi maps use nokia messaging when you click on an email link from there, and it therefore does not work, it says "Email account hasn't been set up yet".
Also, the nokia search does not work correctly if I use nokia messaging results, because it is not set up. This is very annoying because nokia search is great and I would like to use it to seach emails in my folders. If I don't look at search results from NM I can see results from messages (sms) and from Notes, but as soon as I try to look inside the NM results, immediately the Notes and sms messages results became blank.
Another irritating think about nokia email is that it gets all the email messages from IMAP servers, including those that have been marked for deletion or moved to a junk folder. There should be an option to ignore those.

  • E71 & Nokia Messaging

    Hi guys,
I'm having a problem with my Nokia Messaging.
I can login via the web site (on PC) but I can not get on via cellphone.
When I try connect, it gives me a error: "Login unsuccessful, please try again" and has been doing this for a while now.
I even removed the program and redownloaded it (newer version) but it's still buggered.
    Thanks!
    Proudly South African.

    Hi there,
I brought an e71 a couple of days ago and was/am having the same problem. I tried nokia care, the level one support couldnt solve the problem. After a few hours of calling (I had to call back a few times because I was busy and couldn't spend more than 30 mins talking on the phone) I finally got through to level two support. Unfortunately I had been on the phone with level one support for 1.5hrs by then and my cordless phone run out of batteries just as the level two support was instructing me to do a soft reset. Anyway, after some more research on the web I tried emoze (a free push email app that works on the E71). I've had it running for  a few hours and so far it is great, I have set up two accounts both get notifications on the homescreen, and a nice big message appears telling me I've got mail when a mail comes in. This is just what I wanted. It was really easy to configure and I had the whole thing going in 10 mins (including testing to see if it worked and configuring the E71 to show email notifications on the home screen), really just to set up my gmail account it took less than a min. I don't curse the day I decided to buy the E71 over the iphone now. I suggest you give it a go too, I'm just so happy at the moment.

  • Nokia n97 mini email not working

Hi im trying to set up emails on my n97 mini , i click on email it says no mailbox defined define now , so i click yes then start , i choose my internet and it says installing , allow application to use internet, click yes then i goes back to messaging and email not set up , any help

I think I have the same problem. I can set up email accounts with the email wizard and Nokia Messaging online (email.nokia.com) but they don't show up as a mailbox in the regular messages folder structure. Also starting the procedure from that point (Create new mailbox) lead to no results. It starts up the set up procedure but goes back to nothing. Also the symbol of new mail @ is not shown (I hear the sound)....
I used to see a list with Mailboxes in use when I just got the phone, but since I deleted an account I have the above described situation. I did a hard factory default settings reinstall all but that didn't fix the problem.
Can we have some support please?
    Grtz.

  • Nokia Message Center application: Is there a versi...

    Hello,
Question in short: Is there a "Nokia Message Center" (Messaging) that can handle emails in HTML ?
Question in more details: As I'm discovering my N97, I understood it has a native application know as "Messaging" currently in version unknown ( btw, this application is or should be called something like "Nokia Message Center" ) .
As you know, this application handles in a single place several types of messages, what is nice, but on the other side, the one over here can not handle emails in HTML.But for people that want to handle emails in HTML, there is another application called "Nokia Email" currently on version 10.01.
Assuming this understanding is correct: Is there a newer version of  "Nokia Message Center" that can handle emails like "Nokia Email" 10.01 ?
    Thank you

    N97 RM-507 code 0575400 / 0580761 firmware 20.2.19 ... and no Mass Memory anymore.

The step type does not export any option to center text that it displays. If centering text is a requirement, you will need to create a custom dialog in your ADE of choice and display that instead.

  • Nokia Messaging client clarification

    Hello all,
Can the new Nokia Messaging client be used as a traditional e-mail client?
(meaning direct IMAP/POP3 connection to my mail server?)
I can see that Nokia and the operators are trying to build (and charge) an email "service" separate from other data (when it always was just another application) by using Nokia servers to grab mails from your account and push them to your device. This may be a sensible thing to do if you do not have a flat rate data plan and the operator charges a small fee for this service.
I do have a flat rate data plan, so I am neither interested in this service, nor would I want to pay extra for what should be already included in my flat rate plan.
That said, I would like to try this new client if it can be configured as a normal one.
Could anybody please clarify this point to me?
    thanks so much
    Gonzalo

the nokia messaging client has the option to set the access point in use as well as the times that it will connect for new emails
as long as u set it so that the access point in use is a wlan that u have access to then there shouldnt be any charges for sending/receiving mail
u can also choose to disable the automatic startup of nokia messaging and manually start it up each time - there is a sync option in nokia messaging that u can select each time u want to check/send ur mails
