LATEST NVIDIA DRIVER OR MSI OLDER DRIVER

I'm currently using MSI 311.06 driver but NVIDIA has already released version 320.18.
Should I update to NVIDIA driver and why?

newest drivers include fixes and peformance optimizations
so try latest one, go back to msi one only if you have issues with nvidia one

  • Latest Nvidia Driver for G560 does not install!

    Hi,
    i've tried to install the latest nvidia driver for my G560. But it seems like the only driver working on this system is the preinstalled driver from Lenovo.
    I always get the message that the driver can't find the required hardware. I've downloaded the correct (Win 7 64 Bit) and latest driver from Nvidias webpage. I've even tried some older drivers from the drivers archive.
    Does anybody have a clue how I can solve my problem?
    Greetings Cpk83
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    It does look like the correct driver. But I noticed this "Note: The following notebooks are not supported in this release: 1. Notebooks supporting Hybrid Power with Intel chipsets. 2. Fujitsu notebooks – support will be added in a later release. Fujitsu Siemens (FSC) notebooks are supported in this release. 3. Sony VAIO notebooks – support will be added in a later release. Sony VAIO Windows 7 users can click here for driver update support. 4. Any notebook that is launched after the release date of this driver. " Does anyone know if this laptop has Hybrid Power? Also here is a good tip/recommended from ATI. "Advisory: The display driver supplied by the laptop manufacturer is customized for the built-in flat panel display, and the graphics features and functions specific to the laptop. It is strongly recommended to use the supplied drivers. If installing a different operating system other than the one included with the laptop, the laptop may not meet all the requirements, and supported drivers may not be available. The laptop manufacturer is the exclusive provider of driver updates. If the required driver update is not available at the laptop manufacturers’ website, it is recommended to contact the manufacturer directly, to see if an updated driver will be made available in the future."

  • Trouble with latest NVIDIA driver

    Hi!
    I just bought an NVIDIA card (9600GT) to replace my AMD Radeon HD 3650.
    I installed the latest NVIDIA driver (180.22-1), and X now fails to start:

    xinit:  No such process (errno 3):  Server error.
    I've tried reinstalling xorg-server, libdrm nvidia, nvidia-utils and so on, but nothing helps.
    Has anyone else experienced this issue?

    I had the same problem My solution was ... After reinstalling every thing 3 times with no good results I decided to try one more time on a 64 bit version of it and it worked perfectly so I decided to try  different distributions with 386 486 and 686 all the same problem.. it seems only the 64 bit distributions work well with the newest Nvidia cards.... Can't find a reason and Nvidia has not answer me yet....
    Sorry but if you want your card working on Linux you will need to upgrade to 64 bit it seems.
    also there is no Wine HQ for 64 bit under Arch other distros have  but if you want it under Arch you will have to build it your self.
    OK if some else knows better Please Please Let me Know the secret ...  I tried 10 distros and 60 installations later I had these results, maybe I'm doing it all wrong.
    PS:
    I do a lot of beta testings Just for fun. Testing Jaunty and Windows 7 at this time and 7 is pretty but it stills Sucks Majorly Just as much as Vista does.
    Jaunty Has no drivers for Nvidia and is no way to Install it manually with the idiot user proof thing that they got I'll be going back to Arch today and give it a rest to my frustrations For a While....

  • HDMI sound disapears with latest nVidia driver

    Hey! I'm on a dv9266ea and when using Windows Update and installing the latest nVidia Driver (released in December, 2008, driverid=20233116) I no longer get any sound on the TV through the HDMI-cable when I'm watching movies, showing presentations or whatever. And yes, I do change to hd-audio. ^^
    Only way to get it to work is to downgrade to the really old 7.15.10.9815 driver from February 27, 2007 and I really think I could get so much more out of my computer if there were a way to be able to use the latest driver without loosing the sound when running though HDMI-cable on the TV.
    Anyone have any ideas?

    Nope, it still don't work. Graphics got better than ever and I could run games better again but as soon as I plugged in the HDMI-cable, changed sound to SPDIF and started the TV it became the same as after December 2008 nVidia-driver: No sound what so ever.
    It's especially annoying since this laptop has been really faulty all the way from the start. Been sent to repairs 2 times already and gotten new motherboards. Last time they had it for reparis they 'killed' all Quick Launch buttons and refused to take it back for a 3rd repai, claiming it were me and not them (even though I called the same day I got it back) who broken it and they just said warranty were out.
    Anyways, I've tried the Dec 2008 graphics-driver as well as the April 2009 one provided in the reply above and they don't work. Everything get's better but sound output when in using HDMI disapears and only seem to work with the really outdated February 2007 driver.
    I also tried updating the sound with the Conexant HD Audio Driver from May 2008 as provided above too, but that didn't work either.
    There gotta be other who has the same problem. I just re-set the laptop to original state the other week so it's almost completely HP's own settings. It seems wrong I have to choose from either be able to use the laptop only for work with presentations and movies OR for private use such as games...

But when I open an installed trial version of PP CC the Mercury Playback engine is not grayed out. Do I have a problem with CS6 software?? Thanks for any input you can offer.

  • MOVED: Latest Nvidia driver

    This topic has been moved to MSI Notebook.
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=157082.0

  • Latest nvidia driver

    Hello!
    I have a e6r21ea - HP All-In-One PC ENVY 23-d200eq TouchSmart with a graphic card GeForce GT 630M.
    I have tried to play Battlefield 4 and I receive the followig error : Detected NVIDIA Geforce driver version  327.2. The recommended driver version is 331.82 or later. Please update your driver...
    I went to nvidia.com and get the latest driver version for my card and when I tried to install it, I receive the error that my hardware is not supported.
    I look over the internet and saw that is a common error and I found some methods of solving the problem. After some tutorials I modified a .inf file from the nvidia drivers and moved on instaling my graphic card but with no succes.
    The driver instalation failed.
    I have a licenced Windows 8 and make an update to Windows 8.1. After that I downloaded the driver from hp.com for my Touchsmart but I receive the same error on Battlefied 4.
    After many hours I believe that my Hardware ID can get his drivers from Nvidia but only from HP.
    So I have the request to provide my with a newer graphic card driver for my TouchSmart.
    My Hardware ID is:
    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DE9&SUBSYS_90B81B0A&REV_A1
    Please help!

    Nixu, welcome to the forum.
    HP has their motherboards made to their specifications.  Therefore, the retail driver for the video will not work.
    Here is the latest driver for Win 8.1 from HP website.
    I am not certain that you will get the performance that you need to play BF 4 using Integrated Video.  All newer games are video hogs.
    Please click "Thumbs Up" if I have helped you and click "Accept as Solution" if your problem is solved.

  • How do I check I have the latest Nvidia driver?

    Ok - this question stems from an issue myself and a few other intel mac owners are having with photoshop CS3. After talking at length to an adobe tech support guy, he said that the issues could well be to do with needing to update the driver for my Nvidia GeForce 7600 GT graphics card.
    After quite a bit of searching on Nvidia's site and apple's site I discovered that the drivers seem to be updated along with the apple software updates... as I'm fully up-to-date with those, I can only assume my graphics card driver is up-to-date too? How can I check this for sure and if we've discovered an issue between PS CS3 and the card how is best to report this?
    here is the forum where we are discussing it: http://www.adobeforums.com/webx?14@@.3bc3c251/118

    Thanks for the link George - according to that my CS3 web premium should be fully compatible with only one update to acrobat needed - cool
    Yep - rang apple today and they confirmed that I could partition my HD - I also have an exact copy of my Tiger setup on an external HD as backup so have purchased a copy of Leopard to get testing! ooooo excited! (ahem - but not being silly of course - lol)
    aha - you use PS CS3 on leopard with no problems! very interesting - what mac do you have it on as I would be interested if it has similar spec to mine. Also there is an example of the issues I'm experiencing with my current set up at this link all done in a way that should have produced smooth lines:
    http://www.lordart.co.uk/filedump/PSCS3example1.png
    if you could test and see if you get bad line quality, kinked curves, or brushstroke lagging behind the cursor that would be great to know thanks!
    P.S. thanks to Kappy also as you've helped me work out the situation with the Nvidia drivers - you can only get updates included with apple software updates.

  • MSi GT70 stuck at nVidia driver 311.48

    I forget the quick way to post my specs (please refresh).  I'm on hold now to speak with an MSi tech.  The driver's on nVidia's website are 320.xx   I've tried everything but the new WHQL does not recognized the graphics hardware??  Help

    so!
    First of all, you have to do that:
    https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/534575/geforce-drivers/official-nvidia-verde-notebook-gpu-driver-request-thread/
    Request a support for your gpu.
    Keep your ID, it'll be usefull for the next step.
    Because of i can't past a link there, i'll make a Copy/Paste for a topic from another forum:
    Quote
    Steps:
    1. Get your device ID: click on CONTROL PANEL, then CLICK on SYSTEM, then CLICK on DEVICE MANAGER
    2. Under Other Devices/ (or if your video card already has a driver under Display Adapter) click on Video Adapter
    3. Click on Details, Device Instance Id should already be selected
    4. You will see something similar to this:
    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DD1&SUBSYS_20421043&REV_A1\ 4&30DE1B
    This has the detail about your specific video card maker, chipset and model
    For instance in my system
    VEN_10DE tells me the Vendor is 10DE which is the Vendor ID for NVIDIA
    DEV_0DD1 tells me the Chipset is 0DD1 which is the Chipset GTX 460M
    SUBSYS_20421043 tells me that this is the Specific MODEL GTX 460M in the Asus 73JW Laptop
    5. If you haven't already done so then MANUALLY Download the latest NVIDIA driver for your video card from the NVIDIA website and run the install program. It will give your the error : "This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware" Don't Panic.
    6. GOTO the install directory. The default will be something like:
    c:\nvidia\DisplayDriver\275.50\WinXP\ English\Display.Driver\
    or
    c:\nvidia\DisplayDriver\260.63\WinXP\ International\Display.Driver\
    7. there will be many INF files there of the type:
    nvaa.inf
    nvac.inf
    nvam.inf
    nvao.inf
    nvbl.inf
    etc...
    8. Pick any one of them (I picked nvam.inf) and make a backup copy then open the original in NOTEPAD or your favourite text editor
    9. Scroll down until you see lines like:
    [NVIDIA_Devices.NTx86.5.1]
    %NVIDIA_DEV.0405.01% = Section001, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0405&SUBSYS_15D21043
    %NVIDIA_DEV.0405.02% = Section001, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0405&SUBSYS_16341043
    %NVIDIA_DEV.0407.01% = Section001, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0407&SUBSYS_080117FF
    %NVIDIA_DEV.0407.02% = Section002, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0407&SUBSYS_15881043
    %NVIDIA_DEV.0407.03% = Section003, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0407&SUBSYS_16181043
    %NVIDIA_DEV.0407.04% = Section004, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0407&SUBSYS_16321043
    %NVIDIA_DEV.0407.05% = Section001, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0407&SUBSYS_17A21043
    %NVIDIA_DEV.0407.06% = Section005, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0407&SUBSYS_3D7B17AA
    %NVIDIA_DEV.0408.01% = Section001, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0408&SUBSYS_19021043
    These files are for the most part listed BY the four digit HEXidecimal number that appears after DEV.
    10. NOW CAREFULLY scroll down to the section that is similar to your chipset / DEV number
    %NVIDIA_DEV.0CB1.01% = Section041, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0CB1&SUBSYS_203C1043
    %NVIDIA_DEV.0DEE.02% = Section042, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DEE&SUBSYS_15621043
    %NVIDIA_DEV.0DEE.04% = Section042, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DEE&SUBSYS_15A21043
    11. Take a look at this pattern. You will make a DEVICE ID for your Video Adapter and insert it here
    The first part is the same for everyone:
    %NVIDIA_DEV.
    From Step 4
    my DEV is 0DD1
    so my device id so far is:
    %NVIDIA_DEV.0DD1.01%
    NOTE: id there is already DEVs same as yours then your line will be the next increment ie...
    %NVIDIA_DEV.0DD1.02%, or %NVIDIA_DEV.0DD1.03%, etc
    for the section just make it the same as the section where you're inserting it so I have:
    %NVIDIA_DEV.0DD1.01% = Section042,
    the next part is the same for everyone so you will have:
    %NVIDIA_DEV.0DD1.01% = Section042, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_
    add the rest (your DEV and SUBSYS numbers) so it matches your DEVICE ID and your finished device ID should look similar to this:
    %NVIDIA_DEV.0DD1.01% = Section042, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DD1&SUBSYS_20421043
    INSERT IT WILL LOOK LIKE THIS:
    %NVIDIA_DEV.0CB1.01% = Section041, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0CB1&SUBSYS_203C1043
    %NVIDIA_DEV.0DD1.01% = Section042, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DD1&SUBSYS_20421043
    %NVIDIA_DEV.0DEE.02% = Section042, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DEE&SUBSYS_15621043
    12. NOW SCROLL DOWN to the [Strings] section it will look like this:
    [Strings]
    DiskID1 = "NVIDIA Windows 2000/XP (32 bit) Driver Library Installation Disk 1"
    NVIDIA = "NVIDIA"
    NVIDIA_DEV.0405.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS"
    NVIDIA_DEV.0405.02 = "NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS "
    NVIDIA_DEV.0407.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT"
    NVIDIA_DEV.0407.02 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT "
    NVIDIA_DEV.0407.03 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT "
    NVIDIA_DEV.0407.04 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT "
    NVIDIA_DEV.0407.05 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT "
    NVIDIA_DEV.0407.06 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT "
    Same as before add a line in for your Video card:
    NVIDIA_DEV.0CB1.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTS 360M"
    NVIDIA_DEV.0DD1.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M - KAPs INF MOD"
    NVIDIA_DEV.0DEE.02 = "NVIDIA GeForce GT 415M "
    NVIDIA_DEV.0DEE.04 = "NVIDIA GeForce GT 415M "
    NOTE: id there is already DEVs same as yours then your line will be the next increment ie...
    NVIDIA_DEV.0CB1.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTS 360M"
    NVIDIA_DEV.0DD1.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M"
    NVIDIA_DEV.0DD1.02 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M - KAPs INF MOD"
    NVIDIA_DEV.0DEE.02 = "NVIDIA GeForce GT 415M "
    NVIDIA_DEV.0DEE.04 = "NVIDIA GeForce GT 415M "
    13. SAVE FILE
    14. If you have the file ListDevices.txt open it and add a line under the appropriate section
    15. GO back and manually run setup.exe from where the NVIDIA files where extracted:
    NOTE: DO NOT RUN THE DOWNLOADED APPLICATION OR YOUR WILL OVERWRITE EVERYTHING YOU'VE JUST DONE!
    For Example Your setup program may be here:
    c:\nvidia\DisplayDriver\260.63\WinXP\ International\setup.exe
    THATS IT YOUR DRIVER WILL BE INSTALLED...ENJOY
    It just come from the nvidia forum, enjoy it! It works

  • Is the latest 280.26 nvidia driver compatible with MacBook Pro 6,2 model?

    Is the latest nvidia driver (280.26) compatible with MacBook Pro 6,2 model)? Boot Camp 4.0 comes with the 262.41 nvidia driver, but I'd like to upgrade to the latest 280.26. The official 280.26 driver page on the nvidia site says that GeForce GT 330M is compatible, but in the footnote is written this thing:
    Notebooks supporting Hybrid Power technology with Intel chipsets are not supported by this release
    Do you think this is the case of MacBook Pro 6,2 model? Can I upgrade the driver without any problem?
    P.S.
    I've the nvidia geforce gt 330m 256 MB.

    Mac OS X 10.8.2.

  • MBL , nvidia driver and CS5

    I am having an issue with MBL (CS5 version) .  I get a "Not Responding" message when I open the EDIT section of the plugin.  The screen turns black then white then the message.
    I have contaced Red Giant  and they say:
    Update for Case # 16565
    Hello Craig,
    We currently have a compatibility issue with the latest Nvidia Driver. Can you try reverting to an older version of the Nvidia driver and let me know if this resolves your issue?
    Thanks,
    -Nate
    Would you do this in a system that is working perfectly otherwise?  (WIn 7, Quadro FX3800 etc...)
    Can anyone let me know what version of the NVIDIA driver they are using please.  How do I know what is current and what to roll back to?
    RDA   -   I have sent you a PM because I know it works for you as tested yesterday.

    I don't mind you posting my PMs for the common good.
    Now, regarding the nvidia drivers for the Quadro cards, version 266.35 was available fro download until yesterday or early today when it was replaced by version 266.45 which broke MBL on my machine as explained in my PM.
    Once I removed the HD audio driver, which is part of the nvidia package, MBL was working again.
    Here is what I suggest you should do :
    1. Download and install the 266.45 drivers.
    2. Remove the nvidia HD Audio driver in the "Uninstall or change a program" panel..
    3. Launch PPro and apply a MBL effect to a clip and see if my solution works for you.
    Good luck (nod to Bill)

  • Quicktime in vista using with Nvidia driver version 169.25 crashes

    I've been searching the web for a long time to solve this problem, it appears that when quicktime 7.4.1 is used in vista when latest nvidia driver was install will cause the directdraw and direct 3D accelerationg to stop working, therefore the video will jitter and the program will crash when it is closed.
    At the same time the latest version of iTunes is working perfectly, the podcast (H.264 encoded) still play fine, also cover flow is smooth, which means directdraw and direct 3D is working in itunes.
    Many people in different forums have reported the same problem, but no one has a solutions yet, that's why I would like to post it here and hope that apple can solve this problem once and for all.
    Thanks.

  • Satellite P750-05F reserved graphics memory and best nVidia driver

    I have recently purchased a P750-05F.
    The systems specs under windows 7 say
    8 gig ram installed. 6 gig available for system ram.
    For the graphics GT540M it says 2 gig dedicated, 4 gig available.
    Obviously 2 gig of system ram is reserved for the graphics. How can i undo this?
    I think 2 gig dedicated is more than enough.
    I want to release the reserved 2 gig system ram back to system ram.
    I cannot find any bios or graphics driver options to do this ??
    Also what is the best latest nvidia driver to use for best performace on this laptop ?
    Please help.

    So if the GT540 is NOT using the reserved 2 gig, is is available for use by system ram if required.
    Or is it locked off from system ram never ever to be used.
    Seems like a waste if it is ?
    So whats the story on that part ?
    thanks
